This place doesn't have nearly enough raving reviews. I hope that changes. I love a subtle concept. Hip hop meets Korean fusion. Cheeky cocktail names. Original dishes. Everything executed *perfectly.* Started with the White Girl Woke. Perfect blend of flavors and not too sweet. Ordered Da Wangs. Word to the wise, they are massive. Delicious. Perfect Korean fried chicken crunch. Main was the Gnocch Bokki. The flavors were SO rich and decadent. I basically picked my plate clean. The food came with kimchi and white rice on the side. Overall fantastic meal. Service was good. Not overbearing. No fake friendliness. Efficient and helpful. The chef came out at one point as well. I complimented the fantastic food as well as the hip hop music piping in over the speakers. I'm currently trying to come up with an excuse to come back tomorrow. read more

The wife and I were having a craving for Korean Fried Chicken, and I heard about this place in Worcester that served it before the city finally got a Bonchon. Situated inside the Worcester Public Market, which is right at Kelley Sq, parking can be a little hectic. Of the several times I've parked in this area, I've managed to find street parking by driving up either Green St. or Harding St. The interior is a bar countertop that wraps around the central kitchen area and bar stools. No traditional seating if you're hoping for a traditional restaurant experience. The server was very friendly and the whole place had a great young, kinda rebellious vibe going on. We ordered two things and were quite disappointed with the quality of the food and the immense wait time. Da Wangs ; we came here precisely for Korean Fried Chicken which is especially known for being double-fried. The cook pulled them out of the heating drawer - already fried as expected - and dropped them in the fryer... and then proceeded to disappear for several minutes. Oh no. The plating of the dish looks delicious, but biting into it... the worst fried chicken we've ever had. The skin was so hard and crunchy and the burnt taste was unavoidable. The only redeemable flavor was the very paltry glaze of hot honey on the wings. Gnocch Bokki ; we love tteokbokki and this seemed like a really interesting take on it. we watched the chef fry up the aromatic ingredients and mushrooms for what seemed like forever. AND he disappeared multiple times. We don't appreciate waiting 40-50 minutes for food for no damn reason. The rice cakes had a delightful crisp to them, but the duck was utterly dry and unenjoyable despite the sous vide description. The sauce was unpleasantly cloying after the first few bites. I don't know what I'm suppose to take from the flavor profile, but IMO it just tasted like a plate of hoisin sauce. The bartender/waitress talked about how she had past career experience as a food safety (or health?) inspector and it was interesting to listen to... and shortly after that she grabbed a bite off of a large sauced-up plate near the burners... and then the chef proceeded to use that same plate to glaze our wings. Ruby Doo's is hands down my favorite restaurant in Worcester. If you're looking for authentic Korean food, this is the place. Every dish is packed with incredible flavor, the portions are generous, and my girlfriend and I are still talking about our meals hours after we leave. One of my favorite things about Ruby Doo's is that the menu changes every few weeks, there's always something new to try and we get to look forward to seeing what they'll come up with next. Their fried rice dishes are always a staple, but they rotate the protein, which somehow keeps one of our favorite dishes feeling fresh every time. Their rosé tteokbokki is another absolute MUST order. It's rich, creamy, and incredibly satisfying. As someone who's had a lot of poorly cooked squid, Ruby Doo's is one of the only places around that absolutely nails it every single time. Their kimchi is also some of the freshest and most flavorful I've had. The service is just as impressive as the food. The bartenders are personable and welcoming, it kinda like you're hanging around with friends. They go out of their way to make the experience relaxed and memorable, you can tell they genuinely care about their customers and providing exceptional service. Ruby Doo's has become our go-to date night spot, and it's one of the few restaurants where we're already planning our next visit before we've even finished the current meal! read more

It has great atmosphere and the food overall was amazing! The menu you see on here is not going to be the same one when you dine there. It always changes. However, Da Wangs (aka wings) will be always on it as I noticed from their past menus shown here. Keep in mind though, it is not ideal for families with little ones as it is a small place and all barstools. Chef was very nice! He greeted everyone and had a small chat. read more

We drove 1.5 hours for the wings and the bulgogi beef and it was worth the drive! They have a huge variety of soju as well. The service was top notch. We highly recommend! read more

Very much Korean fusion. I got the baked potato a couple weeks ago and the fries this time. Drinks were good - Yobo soju is pretty good! staff was friendly, bartender was friendly. My only complaint is that they renamed some ingredients - e.g. "Anso" sauce or something? I asked what it was - "Gochujang 'plus'" - basically bibimbap sauce. Check it out. read more

Very tasty, Ruby Doos is definitely worth a visit! The service was great, friendly staff and the food arrived quickly. The vines were great, it was a fun experience. We enjoyed the cocktails and ordered a whole variety of food to share. Supervisor yummy! This place just opened recently and I can't stop going there to get the Ummas Fried tofu! Literally one of the best tofu dishes I have ever had. I've been a handful of times now and usually just take my food to go but our last visit we sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks. It's a comfy place with a good drink selection. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable and gave us a great experience while there. I believed her name was Meg. She was training a newer bartender who wasn't as knowledgeable but didn't change our experience at all. She made up for any mishaps with drinks. This is a great new spot with a great vegan dish! I can't speak for the others but have had other people say everything was the best of the best! Give them a try, you will not be disappointed! read more

Their dish -- the chicken katsu -- brought my mom's memory. They used this unique kimchi called gat gimchi -- it's a unique gimchi that my Korean mom used to love, treasured as an expensive gimchi. Here, it really balanced the fried chicken took the taste to the next level. Menus overall are simple but represent fun Korean dishes that go well with drinks. My only suggestion is consider elevating kimchi stew with a Korean army stew -- it's way more fun flavor wise. And because kimchi is so well represented in your dishes, you could consider a different side dish. Overall, loved the service and ambiance . Background music was classic and elegant.
