I purchased 3 platters of food for a Cinco De Mayo party on Taco Tuesday. When I went in they were packed but I got my food quick. Oh My God that was soooo good. We had way to much food and one of my friends feeds the homeless so I let her take all the left overs. My employees were so bummed that they didn't get any I went there again today and got the burriotos knowing full well that will be lunch and dinner for the next 2 days. Ate for lunch and I can't wait for dinner. A very generous portion of Guac too. There salsa is not very good but I have some good salsa to go with their excellent food. read more

I had a kind of strange experience there today that will unfortunately make me not too anxious to return. In the parking lot, a couple nicely told us about a coupon online. We went in and I couldn't locate any coupon. I asked the cashier who didn't seem to respond so I looked for it again. I found one for 30% off. I asked the cashier if that one would work. He looked at my phone and said, "Ok, it checks out" and proceeded to use a calculator to find the amount to take off. We paid and were waiting for our order when another employee asked to see the coupon. I was happy to show him and then he said, "Yeah, that's not one of ours. I can't honor it." I would not have minded if the cashier had refused it in the first place, because I know sometimes they don't work. But once I have paid, that's another matter. Several times the manager told me he couldn't do the discount, until I told him that we'd cancel the order then. I'm not sure if he was thinking I would be paying more money out of my pocket or what, but that wasn't going to happen. I didn't want the cashier to get in trouble, but that's kind of an issue with them and training him properly. To his credit, finally he agreed to let the order stand "this time". With us all wearing masks, it was kind of hard to see facial expressions so the whole experience felt kind of unpleasant. The food itself was only ok. We got it to go, so it was cold by the time we got it home, which isn't their fault. There wasn't a whole lot of cheese on any of it, though. Including on top of the cheese enchilada. Tacos were kind of dry and bland, but could've been tastier if they were eaten hot. I'm not overly impressed, but having been to this location before, not overly surprised either. I will probably visit again eventually, but I won't go out of my way to do it. read more

I don't know if they lost their cooks due to Covid but the last few times I have been there the food has just been BAD. I called last time and told the manager that the chorizo in my burro was black. His name is Brian and he said he'd give me $20 gift card the next day which I appreciated even though it turned out to only be $15 I was ok with that. But then I go back today and again my burro is GROSS. The carne tasted BAD and it was cold. I can't go back anymore. I will miss it I loved being able to drive through too. Upon ordering, we were told by the cashier that they we're out of beef, and taquitos???Then when pondering for 30 whole seconds about what else to get, we received an eye roll and some toe tapping from the gal. I love this place the food is awesome and the staff is always very friendly. We normally get to-go. The problem is..... no consistency!! I absolutely love the Taco Salad get it every time. Sometimes it comes with beans, sometimes without. Sometimes with sour cream and guacamole, and sometimes without. Sometimes with tomato and sometimes without. Sometimes with the dressing and sometimes without. So annoying I ask for what I would like and what it should or should not come with and the order is still wrong. I can see the orders are double check by the lines on the receipt, yet still wrong. Normally love Someburro's but I'm extremely unhappily with my phone order tonight! Called in 6 shredded beef tacos, 2 orders of fries and a kids meal.. got there for pick up (after 15 mins as quoted) only to be told my fries weren't put on the order. Ok, mistakes happen. I wait 5 mins for fresh fries only to get 10 ?! Bull crap. Should've been compensated for having a messed up order to begin with. Offer something free! AND/OR DEFINITELY give me more than this sprinkle of fries. Good customer service is important& I'm a frequent customer so I'm not complaining just because. Ordered takeout. I just don't understand why it is so hard to check off an order to make sure everything is there. Pulled up to the window, they handed us a bag and said thanks. We had to ask about the two Horchatas that we ordered and weren't included. Got home and we were still missing two of the tacos and the extra order of sour cream that we paid for wasn't included. No stars from me. Our extended family gave them a great deal of business. We had a neighbor a little more than a mile away from this restaurant whose father was carjacked and murdered a short ways away. The family lost their main income source. I asked this restaurant if they would be willing to pay half ($50) and I would pay the other half to provide food. Big no. The manager sounded like he was very young and could not contact any management from 4:30pm Friday until Monday. I left voice mails at corporate and they didn't even bother to respond. Our family has boycotted them for the past year as a result. We love to patronize locally-owned restaurants and I'm still sad because we held so many family meals there. It would be nice to see them step up in support of families in need deal with Covid-19. read more

On that note, I'm so so pleased to see how they are helping the community during this time with the Corona outbreak. Had a great experience. Ordered our food for pick up and it was ready promptly and warm. The family loved the red and green burros and of course the delicious red hot sauce. If I could, this place would get 0 stars. My husband ordered in for take out and waited over half an hour for food. The burrito was small and dripping in oil. The nachos were a joke. I've eaten here a couple of times and the food is good. The customer service however, is lacking. Today was no exception and I was over charged. After ordering and paying I thought I was charged more than I should have been. I wasn't offered a receipt and had to ask for it. I was charged for two additions which were incorrect. I told the cashier but she made up some excuse that made no sense and quickly walked away. Then when my food arrived it was wrong and the addition I had paid for was no where to be seen. At this point I was pretty annoyed but I had my two small children with me and felt it best to leave it be. I will likely take my business elsewhere in the future. Last time I went to this Someburros they had plastic in tacos. They were nice enough to get $15 bucks off my next order. Which is great. But they stop giving out hot sauce even when you ask for it. Order 6 different items four tacos and two burritos they give you four tiny hot sauces at least give two of mild size sauces that three to four time the size. These slight things make a difference at restaurants, five to eight years ago Someburros was good at the small stuff not anymore to worried about expand and less worried about customer service. This is by far my favorite restaurant ever! I drive from Tucson to Gilbert just to have the green chili burritos! They are beyond amazing! I always make sure to get the hot sauce and chips To go do that I can enjoy them later. Side note: the green corn tamale is delicious , just like my grandma makes it! The service is excellent. They have never gotten my order wrong! All of their locations have the same type of service, which is excellent! Everyone in there are friendly and they always recommend new dishes! I recommend this restaurant and in any of their locations, I've been to all of them! They have this restaurant, in Flagstaff, Scottsdale, Phoenix/Tempe , Chandler, and Two in Gilbert! Hoping that they expand to Tucson, until that happens, I would be more than happy to drive 90 miles to get some delicious Mexican food! read more

This is the second time Tristen (the so called "manager") is being an absolute jerk not only to his co-workers, but to every customer. Did not even greet us the first time we came to this restaurant. Came here again and no greeting of anything. Just extremely rude and doesn't have sympathy for anyone. I love bringing my mom to some burros because it good authentic Mexican food. She has a disability which does not allow her to get refills on water. So she asks for a bigger cup for just water. They insist on making us buy it even though she can prove that she does not get anything else but water. Tristen is the worst manager ever and should be fired immediately. I've been to this location 4-5 times, they have messed up my order 3 of them. Simple request of "no sour cream" or "no beans" can't be completed correctly. I just bit into a mouthful of sour cream. The food here is awesome! I would give it and the majority of the employees and service 5 stars. However this is third time that we have been through to pick up food at the drive through and the same gentleman at the window says the Coke Zero is out and all they have is Diet Coke. However, my husband has gone in the dinning room the last two times and refilled his drink with Coke Zero! So they don't have Coke Zero at the fountain by the drive through and the server lies to not have to walk to the dinning room to fill them up. It is has been the same with the one server three times. Terrible customer service .I went to this restaurant sat in the drive thru and nobody came to the speaker I pulled forward and the manager asked if I could drive back to the speaker to order although I was not happy I did what I was asked and pulled behind two cars and when I got back to the speaker I waited another five minutes. I don't understand why he would send me back through just to ignore me again. I enjoy some burros because it's a good cross between fast food and sit down Mexican food. The taste is always fresh, and good - the service is fast and friendly, even with a packed house. It satisfies my Mexican fix and does not leave me regretting life afterwords .... (like Filbertos does) I have only had this location, but have gone back numerous times and will continue to hit this place up and work my way through the menu ... LOVE me some Someburros!! Where else can you get an AMAZING, fresh, tasty, filling breakfast burro (burrito) at all hours of the day? Someburros I say! I am always greeted by a friendly face and smile when I arrive at Someburros and they are always super helpful when it comes to making menu selections. Did I mention the breakfast burros yet?? SO GOOD. Also, they have some of the best green chile tamales I have had anywhere (and they sell them by the dozen!!), the cheese enchiladas are the perfect blend of red chile sauce and yummy cheesy corn tortilla goodness. The beans and rice are fantastic...and the breakfast burros...GET ONE! For real! Love this place, the drive thru is convenient for phone or online orders and makes getting in and out with your Someburro loot even easier. read more

One of the things I was most excited about when I moved to Arizona, besides Jack in the Box (judge me if you want, I LOVE their tacos) was Someburros. I had my first Someburros meal back in 2009 when I came to Arizona as a tourist. I fell in love with their menu... so cheap yet soooo good. Thus, when I moved here, I decided to high tail it to my local restaurant. It was good, but not as good as I remember. Maybe it was the dish I got, though. I got the veggie burrito and it seemed... dry. The tortilla was dry and the burrito wasn't full enough, so it was mostly just dry tortilla. I may try a meat filled burrito next time, just to see if it was the type of burrito I ordered. The chips and salsa are excellent tho! So is the side dishes you get with a combo meal: Spanish rice and refried beans. Their refried beans are very good, the best you'll get from a "fast food" restaurant. That's another thing... I put fast food in quotes because the only thing that makes it fast food is the speed with which you get the food. And the fact that the food comes on disposable plates and with plastic cutlery. Wonderful place, glad I went... but the next time I go, if I get a generously filled burrito in a tortilla that didn't seem microwaved, I'll review Someburros again and give them 5 stars! read more
