It's Taco Tuesday and I was requested to go get Tacos for dinner (She even paid). Since this is a to go order, I am sharing a picture of my Cadillac Mag with no salt. If you have never been here they have a wonderful covered outside seating area that wraps around over 1/2 the outside. It's counter to order service, makes it very efficient, they call out your name for to go orders. The CEO of my life had Chicken Tacos, rice and beans. I had Shrimp Taco, Fish Taco and we shared a Green Chili Cheese Crisp. Everything was great, my fish taco was just to soft, it broke the double shell down by the time I got home, which is ten minutes away.. This is our go to place for Mexican food, the refried beans are smooth and creamy. read more

12/10/2025 Before the pandemic, I used to frequent this spot for lunch for their delicious grilled salmon tacos. Finally dined here again years later. The salmon tacos were pretty good, though it did taste a little fishy. It wasn't like that in the past. Tried the chips & salsa - chips were fresh, and I liked the green salsa. The churros dessert came with four small pieces, stuffed with cream, and a side of chocolate sauce. The chocolate sauce looked questionable, so I did not try it. It had a grayish tint to it. We ordered here for taco Tuesday, they have $1 off tacos all day. Unfortunately even with a $1 off we will not be returning. The tacos had zero flavor, no flavor to the carne asada, the rice was bland and the beans taste like they burnt the bottom of the pan. The only thing I tasted in the taco was the onions. We also spent $70 on food that doesn't even taste like it has salt on it. I told my husband we should have went to the other Mexican restaurant in the plaza their food is great! First, this place is super cute. I love the Mexican tile tables with heavy wood chairs and all of the great decor on the walls. The tiled alcove for the salsa bar is great. There are a few booths, but mostly tables, and there are tables and chairs out front, too. The staff was nice enough. I really hate to leave less than great reviews, but I did not like the food here at all. Like not even a little. We ordered chips and salsa to start, and as soon as I tasted the salsa, it reminded me of another restaurant I dislike, Tia Rosa's. The salsa here is really sweet--clearly sugar or some other sweetener has been added. The green sauce is even sweeter. The steak in the steak tacos was tough and soooo bland. The pork was not only bland, it was so dry. Three of the four of us didn't like our food, and the third said it was just okay. This is no where close to authentic. It has been a couple of years since I have been here. We love going here for the salmon tacos, chicken chimichanga, and chicken taquitos. We stopped by as soon as they opened and was able to walk up to the counter to order and pay. We got our number and was able to pick any table we wanted. The decor was simple and nice. Everything tasted great except the churros. We had them before and recall them being good, but something did not seem right about the chocolate sauce. We definitely would eat here again. read more

What an absolute gem of a restaurant! I consider myself very well versed in Mexican food restaurants in Mesa and, honestly, this one takes the cake. The food was incredible and the prices were even better! My boyfriend and I had two entrees, chips, salsa, queso and three margaritas for under $40!!! Unheard of! And it was all delicious! The service was amazing. Loved the ambience in this place. It had outdoor seating beautiful during this time of year. The food delicious. I have to say the meat in everything we had was super tender juicy and flavorful. We had the Carne Asada taco, the chicken taco and the pork taco all were incredibly flavorful. We also had the chicken fajita burrito peppers and onions had great bite to them and the guacamole was just super flavorful and delicious. loved the red salsa could've used a little bit more heat to it, but that's just me didn't care for the green salsa. It had a sweet flavor to it that I wasn't too keen on but all around amazing place and wouldn't go back in a heartbeat next time. Walk-in ordering here is straightforward, but the experience felt rushed. The cashier seemed visibly annoyed that we took a few minutes to look over the menu. When I asked a simple question, her answer came with a tone of disbelief that made me feel unwelcome. Once seated, the food was underwhelming. The rice was over-seasoned to the point it overpowered everything else, and the shredded chicken was quite dry. The queso was decent but thinner than I prefer. Atmosphere was rough--the music was loud, repetitive, and the tracks felt like they were on an endless remix loop. It was hard to have a conversation without raising our voices. Finally, there was no clear signage about where to put dishes after eating, so you're left awkwardly guessing whether to leave them on the table or bus them yourself. Overall, I was disappointed. Boca NEVER disappoints. My mom and I went here for lunch Saturday, $25 to feed us and we got a ton of food. I started with chips and salsa which was only about $2.50 (because we went during their happy hour time, 2-6pm). The green salsa is sweet while the red salsa is more savory and spicy. We each got two tacos (about $4 per taco) + the $2.99ish rice and bean combo. I recommend if you want cheaper, you go on TUESDAYS during the 2-6 happy hour so you can score on their $1 off taco Tuesdays and enjoy their happy hour deals. More than enough food for us! They have a little salsa bar, where you can get refills or grab extra for your meal or to-go. They also have a fully stocked soda counter with lids, napkins, forks spoons etc. The workers were all so attentive and would rush to the front counter on both occasions of us entering the restaurant, and me going up afterwards to grab a to-go box. I stumbled upon this place for a light snack after the gym. The tacos were fresh, and the ingredients were definitely high quality. Although it could have used a little more seasoning there was a delicate balance. I was soooo happy to come across queso dip! It was flavorful with a bit of a spicy punch. I enjoyed it thoroughly. 4.5 stars. The grilled salmon mango tacos are a straight 5 star dish that I have never found a comparable dish at another restaurant. Everything else here is really solid. that I have had but the Salmon tacos are the only dish I have found that is elite. Im told they make their refried beans with olive oil instead of lard. Fast in and out for lunch. Order at counter and they bring it to you. Friendly staff. Spanish Reggeatone is always playing creating an upbeat vibe in the place. One critique I have and it is nit picking is salt and pepper shakers don't always seem clean. Everything else including bathrooms always seems spotless though. I'm happy that I only ordered two tacos, because two were filling. I also like that you can add beans and rice to any entrée for just $2.00, and tacos are $1.00 off on taco Tuesdays. I liked the toppings bar with hot, medium, and mild salsas, jalapenos, and limes. Can I ask what is the point of not starting an order until a customer shows up to pay? If you tell them it will be ready in 30 minutes. I would sure think it should be ready in roughly 30 minutes or so, not to start when they arrive, only to make them wait another 15 minutes. Terrible "service". read more

Slow and cold food! For tacos, they really know how to satisfy a craving, however, my husband and I ordered ahead of time online trying to save time. It was estimated to be ready for pickup between 630-645PM and we got there at 7PM. The girl who looked at the to-go orders said it'd be 15 minutes longer. So I told her we'd be parked in the pickup parking space waiting. We went back inside when no one came out to us and the next girl who helped me asked what was in the order she said it's not ready yet and that was at 7:25PM. Finally I asked what was taking so long and one of the girls was unapologetically bitchy saying "Oh. It's coz your order came up through Grub Hub, we don't call those out" CALL THOSE OUT????? So does that mean you also completely disregard the order when you are looking at the bagged items that ARE in fact ready for pickup?!? She looked me up and down as she handed me the bag and said "Your salsa should already be in there with the food" as I began to ask about it. We ordered a lot of food and I had even tipped in cash in the tip jar BEFORE having to wait and having an awful experience. We will not be going back and will take our business to the Gilbert location off Higley like usual. Apparently North Mesa front end girls could use some more training for someone who works with the customer, I hope the manager takes the time to hire girls who give a care about the customer. I really don't get this place. This restaurant was recommended to me by a coworker. I'm here from Atlanta. I couldn't leave Arizona without trying a taco. This was just not the place to do that. I ordered two tacos one fish one chicken they were each about $4-$5 each.m. The wait was long . I don't know why . Some people did come in and look like they were regulars and expected to wait. My food did not reflect the waiting period The chicken taco with the soft shell very bland flavor, nothing special about it. The fish had sweet cabbage which was too sweet. I even tried it with Salsa to cut sweetness didn't do any good. It was very disappointing. The restaurant itself is really cute. The ambience is really pleasing to the eye. Ordered the Appetizer trio and it was fantastic. I usually dont order chicken tacos but I wanted to try something different and WOW was it packed with a lot of flavor. Rated as one of the best Mexican food spots in East valley and I can taste why they are. They also have a few other locations in the valley to choose sothey really have expanded quite a bit. The restaurant is pretty well decorated as a old Mexico feel with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Good sized menu with plenty of great looking options to choose from. Also they have a salsa bar with mild medium and hot choices. I really love bean and cheese burritos and I generally judge a Mexican restaurant based on the beans so I had to get one of those. I also grabbed a shrimp taco since I heard some great things about them. The shrimp taco had this awesome pineapple salsa on top of it with a little cheese and a good amount of shrimp. I woukd recommend the green salsa on the taco since it adds a little more sweet and heat to the taco. Really good taco, but I would like the tortilla to be a little crisp on it but still very good. The bean and cheese burrito was a nice sized burrito and definitely didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed the taste of the beans that had a slight smokey taste with a nice amount of cheese. Very well made burrito! I generally like red salsa with my bean and cheese bur I felt like that salsa had too much of a tomato taste that felt was bland. It was a pretty boring experience. And somehow we spent over $50 for a burrito, a chimi, and chips and guac. I'm not sure this food can be classified as Mexican food--it had almost no flavor. The Chile relleno burrito was terrible. An undercooked, unbattered, chewy chili with no "relleno" (stuffed) and no flavor. I ended up pulling the chili out of the burrito because it was inedible. The tortilla tasted raw and uncooked even though it had some brown marks from the griddle. The chips and guacamole were good, but that was about it. Normally a two star place I would just cross off my list and not go back, but I actually may come back here. When I first rolled up, I thought I had stumbled upon something special... the ambience of the place is great, and it's that casual fast food style place that I absolutely love. I love that I stand in line to order my food, and don't have to wait for an hour for someone to take my order and then another hour to get my food. From stepping in, to food on the table was 5 minutes or less. Which is fantastic! The food itself wasn't bad at all. It just wasn't in the slightest bit special. I had a burrito bowl with chicken, and elote (I'm a sucker for elote and if it's on a menu I'm powerless against it). When the burrito bowl came out, my first thought was that it seemed like a very small amount of food. And it was. I could have plowed two of them. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great. Very plain is the best way I can describe it. As for the elote, I almost feel bad for other elotes in this world that share the name. This wasn't elote, it was a $3.50 cup of corn, with a puddle of water settled at the bottom. I guess they made it look fancy by sprinkling some cotija on top, a little cilantro, and a little chili powder. At the end of the day, it was a bland cup of corn. I couldn't even finish it because it was inedible. The glint of hope I have for this place, in addition to the ambience itself was the salsa bar. Normally I'm a tomatillo guy, but this one had a sweetness to it that I wasn't in love with. But the other two red ones were actually pretty dang good. read more

Every single to-go order has been wrong, The high school kids that work here, rush the phone orders, treat customers like they are doing them a favor taking their order and don't listen. People I know RAVE about this place! Me? Not so much. I've had better street tacos and salsa elsewhere. On a previous visit the burrito I had was good, but again had better at other restaurants. I typically like thinner (flour) tortilla chips but am ok with corn tortilla chips if the salsa is GOOD. The salsa here falls FLAT. The verde (green) salsa was too sweet. Too much sugar? The mild chunky salsa had a little kick to it, but was not very good, all heat and not much flavor. Today I had 2 Cantina tacos that were on happy hour special. The chicken one was OK but again the chicken did not have much flavor. I also had a shrimp one that had a good mango salsa on it but the shrimp to me was slightly overcooked and a little too chewy. I don't think I'll go out of my way again to come to this restaurant when I can have better Mexican food closer to home. read more
