Met a gf here for dinner yesterday! She had the Tostada special & loved it, I had the posole and it was excellent! I consider myself a posole snob! Great flavor, lots of meat and fresh toppings (cilantro, radishes, cabbage & onions). The only thing missing is a toasted bolillo or a tortilla. The staff was friendly & the prices were a little steep, but it was worth it! Ambiance was nice too! I recommend you try soon! read more

Salsa Cabana Mexican Grill - Pozole YUM!! - Mexican Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

I've been here a few times over many years and I like the food. The gorditas are what I have had most often, though I have tried many different meats. Their gorditas are like corn tortilla pockets where the fillings are put into the tortilla rather than having the tortilla wrapped around it. The al pastor and chorizo are probably my favorite meats so far and I usually get a plate with two gorditas with beans and rice. The rice is simple, but how I'd make it at home with a a mild flavor and few mixed veggies in it. There are plenty of interesting salsas to try at the salsa bar. Sometimes the music is a little strange (one time, we agreed that it was like "kidz bop, if performed by adults"). Order at the counter and take a seat. read more

Food is good but the pricing is kinda off for tacos rice and beans and charging $4.50 or $9.00 for 2 sodas is mental. Then adding hidden charges for debit card is whack. 4 tacos rice and beans and a bowl of soup w tip shouldn't cost $77!!! read more

Fun atmosphere even though it isn't your normal sit down Mexican restaurant. Love the option for Mexican Coke. Best chicken fajitas I've had in a long time read more

Food was very bland. Needs more spices and flavors. Not Mexican nor TexMex. Very low level cooking.

This place is so cozy! We immediately felt right at home, and the service was so kind and courteous. The salsa bar is so good- just between you and me, I could (and did) drink the molcajete salsa like a shot. It's that good. My husband got the #3 chile relleno combo, and I got the #14 posole. My husband loved his, and the posole was so comforting! We cannot wait to come back. read more

The food was delicious! The staff super friendly. I had the chili relleno and my guy had a combo plate... comes with chips and the salsa bar is fantastic. Homemade everything, everyday. We live a bit away but will be back. read more

I got steak nachos, stuffed myself and still had enough left over to heat the rest for dinner. Fresh made iced tea was nice and strong. The mango salso is soooo good, I could eat it by the spoonful. Hmmm. . . wonder what it tastes like over vanilla ice cream. . . You can buy it by the pint for eight bucks--worth it! There were five in our party, and everyone seemed happy with what they ordered. We didn't talk much, we were too busy eating! read more

We recently moved back over to this side of town and we came out of the gym, on a taco Tuesday and with being certified big backs we decided to stop it! The restaurant has great reviews on here and Google and we found out why! The restaurant was very clean, the salsa bar was stocked up and kept very clean! Customer service was excellent, he was so nice and polite. There tacos deals are great they had a variety of meat to choose from for I believe under $3 a piece, our son ordered the Birria noddles and still to this day he asked me to take him back just so he can order it! We will definitely be back for the amazing food and they good vibes! read more

The food is amazing here and always so fresh and yummy!! Favorites include their tacos, burritos, and carne asada dishes, all made with fresh ingredients. Food was really yummy and it's really hard to impress me with good Mexican food being from San Diego. We enjoyed the carne asada fries which were enough for 2. We took advantage of the taco Tuesdays which all tacos are 2.99 each with the ability to choose from meat list. My family of 4 enjoyed the carne asada tacos and the birria tacos along with 2 plates to share of the carne asada fries. They have a salsa bar that is out of this world. They have peppers, radishes, carrots, salsas of various kinds, pico, mango pico, verde and more on the bar it was awesome. Your inside dinning comes with warm chips complementary. The ambiance is chill and laid back with booths and tables. They can accommodate medium and large groups. They also have a curb cabana table to dine. The service was great as the staff were really nice and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this establishment and will return soon. read more

This quaint little place was such a nice surprise. We are visiting from Southern California and found this place on yelp. The food was so delicious! It was like eating at my gramas house. Such friendly ladies and the food tastes like they cooked it with love. The food came out looking just like the photos on the menu !! That's a first for me. Even the salsa bar was like amazing. All the stuff I would find on my gramas dining table for dinner. The price may seem too much but the food is so worth it. We had 3 combo plates and 1 fountain drink and 2 beers. $63.00. We cleaned our plates ! Highly recommend this place read more

This little strip mall restaurant is a treasure! The restaurant is a mix of fast casual and slow food, with comfortable booths and "real plates," but plastic silverware and throwaway chip containers. The staff are super friendly and offer many options for food customization. (As their sign says, they do not serve fast food. They make everything to order.) The prices seemed a little bit elevated, but for the delicious flavors, it was worth it. My husband says he is ready to go back anytime! read more

I was very excited to try this place because it says it's authentic Mexican food. I had the Queso Birria taco. It didn't have as much flavor as I had hoped, but it was good for white wash, Mexican food. The green hot salsa was not hot. Would I go back? Maybe for some rolled tacos but that's about it. Sorry. read more

I never had a Gordita in my life , I was so hungry after moving and I can't believe what I bit into . Swear I am the pickiest person when it comes to food. This was so so bomb. The effort they made to pack up my food too as chefs kiss. The service is incredible and the salsa bar I kid you not so freaking tasty. I am so grateful to have found this place read more

Oh my Lort! This very clean delicious restaurant has been here all along and I'm just trying it out today. It's SOOO good. The salsa bar alone is a meal in itself and there wasn't a salsa I didn't like . They have wonderful soup options daily. Wish they had menudo, but no luck, just pozole. You know you've hit the jackpot when the beans, rice n salsa are good. See for yourself. They won't disappoint. Great friendly staff too. Cold beer available plus dessert options like churros and sopalpillas. Going back tomorrow to try Caldo de Pescado, which also has shrimp. Can't wait. read more

I never knew this place existed and I was intrigued to check it out after reading all the great reviews. We stopped by on Saturday for an early dinner and it wasn't at all busy. The have a lot of different items on the menu and they have combos as well. We ended up ordering one posole, a three gorditas plate, and a taco combination plate. The combination plate came with two tacos, rice, and beans. We also ordered two drinks and a michelada. Our total was close to $40. We sat in a booth towards the back and waited for our food. The salsa bar was nicely stocked and had a few different salsas to pick from. Chips were brought out to our table by one of the employees and our food was brought out one by one. I ordered the posole and it was pretty good! I threw all the garnishes on there and bam it was delicious! Oh and I also ate it with chips. My friend had the three gorditas plate. He ordered one carne asada, one carnitas, and one chicharron. He liked them all expect for the carnitas. He said that meat had no flavor and was super dry. My other friend has the taco plate making one of her tacos chicken and the other carne asada. She preferred the chicken over the carne asada. The salsas were too watered down for our tastes and the pickeled onions were on fire, beware! The employees were friendly and the tables were clean. I would be back again for some more posole! read more

This is a tough one. The food was not bad, but not great. It IS made to order, which is nice. The salsa bar is good. The margaritas were pretty good. The people at this restaurant work their a##es off. The ambience is basic strip mall. While overall we enjoyed our lunch, for the price I would rather find a regular restaurant. read more
