Potato taco and a side of rice
    Celia V.

I have been looking for a Mexican spot near me that offers potato tacos, which is surprisingly hard to find. My mom used to make the best potato tacos, so I crave them often. I decided to try this spot for lunch yesterday. You can order directly on their website for pickup, which is very convenient. I ordered a potato taco and a side of rice. I basically inhaled the food, it was so delicious! The taco was topped with cheese, crema and cabbage. The potato inside was well seasoned, and the rice on the side was just perfect with it. Prices are very reasonable, and much lower than alot of other places. I can't wait to try more items soon!

Mini Tacos (3 pcs) double beans

My husband and I were looking to try a new Taco spot and found ourselves near Chikiliquis. It's located in a unassuming strip mall. The parking lost had ample spots. The inside had a few various tables and booths, but not large by any means. Their menus on Yelp and their website did not reflect exactly what they had in store and the prices were a bit off, but we ended up getting a mini taco plate with double refried beans, a breakfast burrito, a sonoran dog and some of their elote en vaso. The mini taco plate came stuffed to the brim with protein and toppings and was delicious and the refried beans were flavorful and creamy. The burrito was solid and my husband said his dog hit the mark. The Elote was a bit to mayo heavy for us and we ended up taking it home to add more corn and enjoy it later. The salsa's are also delicious and you can take the entire bottle to the table for a perfect bite each time. They have an extensive menu from breakfast items, combination plates, specials and everything in between. There is definitely something for everyone, including fish and shrimp as well as veggie options. Overall, it hit the mark and if we found ourselves nearby we would happily visit again, though I am not sure if I would go out of my way.

I had the chili relleno and the beef taco with rice and beans. My daughter had the ceviche and the shrimp tacos and everything was absolutely amazing. We'll definitely be going back! It's on the top of our list now!

Decent seating inside and a few tables outside

This place was good! Super clean inside and the service was fast and great. You order your food, sit down and they bring it out to your table. I went with the Diablo Taco (shrimp), Carne Asada Taco and a bean and cheese burrito. The tacos are stacked! I couldn't even see the corn tortillas! Both were flavorful and tasty. I loved the Diablo with the Diablo sauce & chipotle sauce. So good! This is a great option to thrown down some tacos...I'd hit it again for sure!

    California Burrito

I Recently visited with a friend, and while the service was just okay, the food was absolutely amazing! I can't get enough of their California burrito - it's become my go-to order every time I visit. In fact, I've been back twice since my first visit! To wash down the delicious meal, I tried their horchata, and let me tell you, it was superb. However, one thing to note is that there's a 4% card charge, which was a bit of a downer. So, if you plan on dining here, it's best to bring cash to avoid the extra fee. Despite that, I can't deny that this place serves up some seriously fantastic food. Definitely worth a visit! The place was cold, and had some booths and tables.

    Carne asada combination plate

My first time here, but definitely not my last. You order your food at the counter, and your food is brought to you. They prefer cash but accept credit cards. There is a fee added if you use a credit card. I ordered the carne asada combination plate, which comes with rice, beans, pico, guacamole, and HOMEMADE tortillas. Whenever I get rice at a Mexican restaurant, that is the first thing I try. If the rice is good, I know the rest of the food will be good. The rice was delicious! It's almost as good as my mom's and my mom makes the best rice. The carne asada was seasoned perfectly. The homemade tortillas were the cherry on top. They have many options, and I can't wait to come back and try something else. The service is great and the food is delicious. I highly recommend this place.

The food was good. Good flavor but the prices were absurd. 5 dollars per taco is way too much.

Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.

I'm posting this review for two reasons - The first being because the manager passed the restaurant phone over to the supposed "owner" after I called within five minutes of getting home to tell them the chips and taco shells tasted like they were fried in old, rancid oil. The manager told me she could offer a credit and when I said I would prefer the refund to my card is when she went to get the "owner". I'm fairly sure I wasn't an asshole to her. I was pretty peeved at this point because we're talking about almost $16 of the $49.11 which was the cost of the food I ordered before tax and tip. I work in the service industry/for tips too so I get it. I'm well aware of the price increase of everything everywhere!!! Before going to Ritos I waited in a line of 10 cars at Sam's Club for gas and gas was $49.65. So there's that. The "owner" also reiterated that a refund would only be given if I brought the food back. I'm sorry, but, I live 15 minutes away from Mesa Riverview. My employer was 30 minutes from the restaurant. I sure as f*ck wasn't going to get my ass back in my car and drive back to Ritos to give them shitty tacos and chips. They told me they would offer a credit for next time for chips and 2 tacos - and I guess that's acceptable but my question is - how are you going to provide that when you don't have my number or an email address for me? And aren't chips typically complimentary at a Mexican food restaurant when you dine in? The manager had the audacity to say that the oil was changed, the chips and tacos are cooked in different vats, the cost of meat has gone up and "everyone is feeling it." That's quite the level of audacity. I'm to the point where I don't give a about your credit and if I want Ritos I'll drive even more out of my way to the Garfield or 7th Street location. I'm more pissed off about the "owner's" attitude than I am about the $2.55 chips I threw in the trash. And the taco shells didn't taste too rancid drowning the inside in salsa. My mother was in her bedroom in the back of the house (I was in the kitchen) and just told me she could hear the owner yelling at me and what a sh*tty way to do business. Keep your credit, I won't be back to your locatiom to dine in OR take food to go. PS - Change your raunchy ass oil. As you said, consumers pay *way too much* to get home with a To Go order to have to throw it away because oil isn't changed frequently enough.
