All of this was great! Here's where the evening went to hell. 1st, I had already eaten at another event prior to coming. I was there for a drink to celebrate my friend. Our waitress came out and asked THREE times if anyone wanted this extra pork chop since she had ordered an extra by accident. I said "sure, I'll take it so it doesn't get trashed". FFwd, I see this $50 pork chop on my bill. (I have not eaten pork chop in over 20 years -- I would've ordered a steak, ESP for $50. And it wasn't even that good!) We then move indoors to pay our bills and cut cake, as it's Feb and it's getting cold out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I sat in a chair which I later learned was broken and had been reported earlier by another patron. I fell on the floor[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I asked to speak to the manager to complete an incident report. Especially since I had already injured my shoulder and wanted this documented just in case. The manager (Ramie Mercado) not only was demeaning when he spoke to me, but said "I don't have any incident report forms, but if you write down what happened on pen and paper, I'll sign it." Who walks around carrying pen & paper at an adult bday event. Not to mention THERES AN ENTIRE HOTEL downstairs. He then follows up with an insult asking me if I was drunk (while I sip on the same one glass of wine I had for 2 hrs)! Now I'm drunk because YOU don't have the necessary forms??? I then escalated my experience to Ramie's bosses. I never received a follow up call to close out how they'd address my concerns -- like my experience was a normal interaction. read more

We decided to give Soma a try Valentine's Day weekend. They were busy but service was still decent. We started with the olives, hummus, and whipped feta. It was my favorite part of the entire meal and paired very well with the wine. My husband had a fish dish and I had the kale Caesar salad with duck. The food was excellent. We had out of area guests meeting us for lunch and I wanted to take them somewhere where the food is interesting, service is excellent & the rooftop bar has a cool vibe so naturally I chose Soma! The rooftop bar was closed due to high winds luckily we thought about that in advance and decided to make reservations for inside and we were seated in an excellent corner location in the restaurant, we could see the river as well as the buildings towards downtown. Our waitress Sar (I know that's not how to spell it) was great! She kept us informed because it was interesting being there in high winds, the power actually went out but hey we were still having a great time laughing and visiting! Brunch review only. I've had brunch here twice and loved both experiences. If expresso martinis are your thing, you will love them here! Soma knows how to make them smooth (and no, not everyone does!). One hummus starter is fantastic for a group of 2-3; a nice mix of pita and veggies with a classic natural hummus. The Barge is incredible!! It comes with veggie or pork (the pork is delicious and ample!), scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, black beans, greens, pico de gallo, cotija, salsa verde, avocado, and cilantro. It all tasted FRESH and flavorful. The atmosphere of the restaurant is modern, clean, and bright from natural light. It feels fancy even though you do NOT have to dress fancy. There was a DJ playing nice background music at a volume that did not impact discussion at your table. My boyfriend and I chose Soma for my birthday celebration, but unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences we've had. We ordered the ribeye chimichurri steak and the seared glazed pork chop, and my boyfriend's dish was made incorrectly not once, but twice. The first time it was brought out, the server removed it from the table without explanation, and we were left waiting about 15 minutes with no updates. Meanwhile, my food was already served hot, so I was stuck picking at it while waiting for his meal to be corrected. What made the situation more frustrating was the complete lack of communication. No one checked in to explain the delay or give us an estimate on timing. Our server mentioned he was new (about two weeks in), which we tried to be understanding about, but the overall service still fell far below expectations. A manager did stop by once, but the resolution felt inadequate. Instead of comping the dish that was prepared incorrectly twice (around $40), they only removed our $20 mocktails from the bill. Soma used to be one of my favorite spots, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Sadly, after this visit, I can't see myself returning. read more

I actually brought my husband back after my first visit and I ordered the same thing!! Plus the shareable hummus stray that is almost indescribable as it had various tries of radishes and carrots along w the big portion of hummus, and...there were those chickpeas again! So delicious! Def enough to share w a table if 3-4. My husband had the Trout Tostadas, also a shareable and soooo good! He's very much inspired now to do some trout fishing, haha! I'd like to go back for sunset and try the dinner menu. With the chefs they have, I'm sure it would be equally delicious! Oh...I forgot to mention the Parmesan frites The wine was GREAT! At first glance, this penthouse floor restaurant at the Brut Hotel looks clean and pleasant, but once you sit down, the fun has just begun. Service is top-notch. The waiters are friendly and knowledgeable. Their cocktails are delightful, especially the LAVENDER KISS with dry gin, lemon, cinnamon orange agave and lavender. The Blackberry Garden is good too, but the Lavender Kiss is the best thing ever. Even my friends who aren't gin drinkers loved it. My friends enjoyed amazing breakfasts, but I chose the grilled cheese with fontina and bacon, which was wonderful. The bar and many of the tables have a wonderful view. When weather permits, there is a large pretty area outdoor seating as well. I'll be back... my friends have already beat me to it! read more

This is the newest rooftop restaurant/bar in Tulsa inside the Brut Hotel. Valet and self parking are available. The elevators were a bit slow and wonky (going down before up to 'R') but we weren't in a hurry. The decor is modern with a chic and minimalistic vibe- very clean and aesthetically pleasing. We made a reservation using Open Table for brunch on a Saturday. Thankfully they weren't very busy so we would've been fine without one. We were immediately greeted by a friendly host and directed to our table. The views are absolutely amazing, especially right now with the Fall colors. I wish they would've asked us where we wanted to sit, to maximize the view, especially since they weren't busy. They sat us in a place where we didn't enjoy the view as fully as other spots around but that's ok, we just walked around to check out the view. There's outside seating on a patio overlooking the south, inside seating overlooking the west and north. There's a bar but we didn't try any drinks this time. When it comes to the menu, it's Tropical Americana, not entirely sure what that means but my hunch is that it's American fusion inspired by Latin food. We had the donut holes with jam and they did not disappoint. I had the chilaquiles in salsa verde with pork - highly recommend. The waiter referred to them as breakfast nachos and that made me chuckle, I never thought of chilaquiles like that but he's kind of right! My friend had the Papa Bruce which was more of a traditional breakfast plate (eggs+sausage+potatoes+toast and fruit). She also enjoyed it. The portions were pretty big and we both needed to go boxes. They didn't have a drink menu but the waiter let us know what our options were. The service was fine but not impressive, definitely still new and in need of a bit more training. Our waiter didn't introduce himself nor ask if we had been there before. He couldn't confidently answer questions about the menu (he did go and ask), forgot refills, little things that would've made our experience extraordinary. My response was no. When we got the check, the salad was on the check . I asked our server to revisit the matter and his demeanor instantly shifted to irritation and got his manager who said the bug was from the small floral arrangement on the table. This issue ended up being resolved, however, I despise the need to explain why service should be a priority especially when your food is subpar. We went to Soma for Valentine's Day for the three course dinner. With wine pairing and tip the total came to approximately $400. You would think with dinner for two you would each be served but no. We got one small plate of food for each course and were each given a salad plate and told to split our meal. It was so ridiculous! We were given one steak so only one person could have it cooked to preference. For dessert they even split a cookie in half and gave us a small bar of chocolate mousse about the size of your pinky finger to split. Unbelievable. I felt so taken advantage of. We spoke up at the time in a friendly respectful way and there was no attempt to make it right. This is the third strike for Soma. read more

The restaurant has potential for excellence, but it seems they are working through some kinks based on three full meals. Here here is my review: food quality and menu: 5 stars food execution: 3 to 4 stars Service: 2-3 three stars- kinda hostile seating: uncomfortable, one star noise, factor, and loudness: off the charts, high volume ambience and decor: five stars serve yourself, rooftop balcony, five stars after three visits, I'm pretty much saturated on this place, and I think it's going to stay the way it is - where it's a great concept, you're going to be uncomfortable in a very hard chair that doesn't sit square to a table, and the service is only so so at its very best. All of our meals were good and made with beautiful quality fresh ingredients, but just didn't get across the finish line. My salmon patty brioche was so dry and I craved some sort of sauce. The Chilaquiles so wet, we craved some dry chips. The sunrise sandwich had been saturated in melted butter and we craved some napkins. however, even though we tried, we could not get the waiters attention to get them to come over to our table. You get the picture- it's almost there, but if they're not going to treat you nicely, no food quality in the world or ambiance is going to save this place. read more

I'm giving Soma a 4 stars only due to some wait times but besides that it's a 5 star experience! The views are amazing and like someone said it's like you're not in Tulsa! The food was excellent my wife is vegan and they had great options for her and those options were delicious! I ordered the Huli chicken and it was I scraped the pineapple other than some slight waiting for some items the whole meal was great and it was a great experience. We went for our anniversary and it didn't disappoint! Disappointing experience because I had heard such good things. I'm giving it 2 stars because of the nice bartender that found the anejo tequila. I ordered the steak frites medium rare. It was a kc strip. The menu said it came with sweet potato fries. What I received was a medium well steak and regular fries. The food was brought out to me by the hostess. Nobody ever came to check on my order. It wasn't incredibly busy for a Tuesday night and there appeared to be plenty of staff working. I had to track someone down for a check.
