Visited Doc's Wine & Food in Tulsa for Saturday brunch with my family and had a great experience. We had a large group (about 15) and they had our outdoor seating ready, super cute space with big windows, lots of natural light, and a bright, airy feel. Service was smooth from start to finish. Our waiter was the bomb I forgot his name but he was on it!!! They didn't mind people arriving at different times, kept the table taken care of, and had no issue splitting checks. Food came out quickly too. The food was very good. I had the shrimp and grits, sooo good, seasoned perfectly, just wish there was a little more grits compared to the shrimp. Had a business lunch on a slow day (weather). Service was very good. I had the seared tuna with side salad and the other person had the shrimp and grits. My tuna was seared while rare in the middle. I did ask for it as rare as possible, so they could have pulled it a bit sooner. The serving was not that big for $32. The shrimp and grits looked good, but for $34 seemed pricey for the portion. They do have plenty of other more modestly priced lunch options that are $15-$20, including some nice combo options... so we may have been ordering the standard dinner meals. Overall the food and service was good - pricing for the main entrees seemed high for lunch given the portion sizes. read more

Went out to celebrate some co-workers service anniversary's. We were a party of 6. Made reservations and were seated quickly. The downside was they only have tiny tables for two or tiny tables for 4. So they put a 4 top and 2 together. It was tight putting drinks and appetizers on the table. But the service by Alex was excellent and she kept our evening flowing well. We had oysters, calamari, and crab cakes as appetizers. The calamari was outstanding. We each had selections of the fish. I tried the special, John Dory (St. Pierre) and was amazed at the light and flaky meat. My wife's fillet was perfect. Through the evening we had a host of mixed drinks. We ended the meal with shared desserts. We had a grand time, the service was amazing, and the price point was reasonable. Appetizers, 2-drinks per person, entrees, and desserts for six for just under $100 per person before tip. Worth a visit, it's not set up for large parties. We're always keeping a lookout for restaurants that offer outdoor seating and are dog friendly. Doc's meets both those requirements. Mark Gibson was set up inside and was playing to a nearly full house. We sat on the patio and it was pleasant. We split a 1/2 lb hamburger with fries. It was very good and the kitchen split the burger onto two plates for us. Very nice. The only negative was that a neighboring restaurant had an event of some sort going on on their outside patio and the amplified entertainer was loud. Our service was excellent, just the right amount of checking in on our table of 4. The Brussel sprouts were excellent and I would definitely get them on my next visit. The chicken jambalaya was good, the chicken was a little dry and honestly the dish didn't need the chicken at all, there was enough flavor and protein without the chicken. The truffle fries were good but not my favorite dish or something I would order again. Parking is tricky at this location. Went last night to celebrate with a friend for her birthday. Upon arrival, I knew my friend would be frustrated with the table that was reserved for us. It was a tiny table for 4 people so shortly after the appetizers arrived we asked to be moved to a larger table. The service was slow, as if we had been forgotten about a few times but we were just enjoying ourselves. My husband and I ordered the gumbo which did not taste anything like gumbo. It actually tasted sweet and my friend's husband commented on how it smelled like apple butter. We should have returned it to the kitchen. When the food arrived my shrimp etouffee was cold. But my husband's was piping hot. By friend's husband's pork chop was good but we agree Red Rock Grill has better. Not to mention his Brussels sprouts weren't edible. He was given mainly inedible parts, so he pushed them to the side rather than complain. They ran out of the dessert we wanted so we ordered the creme brûlée which always tastes like pudding to me so it's not my favorite. But it was fine. We ordered coffees and I was shocked upon looking at the bill that it was $4! Yikes! It was black coffee, nothing fancy. From great display, to the perfect finishing touches, this meal completely delivered. Started with the tuna tartar, which had a delicious sriracha aioli, wasabi and other goodies along with Gulf Coast oysters. The oysters were fresh as could be, try the homemade horseradish with a serious kick! The main courses left us completely satisfied, from the portabello/goat cheese with the scallops, to the corn/peppers and green beans with the duck, it was perfect. The wait staff was also attentive, helpful and prepared with recommendations, and the food came out in perfect intervals. Honestly couldn't have asked for more. Very cozy seafood restaurant. Happy hour is from 4-6pm, definitely recommend! My server was D, she was pretty chilled. In Tulsa for work and wanted to grab a quick nice dinner. I ordered the chard grilled oysters (1/2 dozen), 1/2 Doc's Caesar salad, and the cucumber splash cocktail. Everything was good, but would probably just get the salad again. The oysters were wonderful - $22 for a half dozen East or West coast. They have gulf oysters as well if you enjoy those. I ordered my favorite - the zucchini pasta. I remember it being a bigger portion size and way less oily. It was swimming in oil this time, which was pretty unappetizing. My fiancé ordered his favorite - the burger. It would've been great had it not been grilled to be well done. In our opinion, a place shouldn't as how we want a burger cooked if they can't deliver that result. We came during a busy Sunday evening during the restaurant's 9th birthday. We first noticed the outdoor patio which provided plenty of seating for those who wanted to enjoy the sunshine outside. It was hot and humid that day, so we decided to dine inside. There was live music being played as part of the festivities, and it was very entertaining to watch and listen as he was an outstanding solo act on vocals, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar playing a few originals and many unique takes on hit classics. We were seated on a table next to the bar with a good view of the musician. The service was very quick, friendly, and efficient despite the packed crowd. For food we tried a half dozen each of their raw oysters and chargrilled oysters. The flavor was definitely fresh and well prepared with the garnish and sauce! We also had their special appetizer of the week, which was a half dozen escargot cooked in a tomato and cheese sauce served with complimentary bread. The taste was different that what we've had before, but it was still good. For drinks, we had the Spritz cocktail, which was only $5 as a special, and the Tiny Dancer cocktail, both of which were strong like we wanted. BUT FOR ME...I gotta press through and eat more food...so scanning the menu, I settled on the hamburger. Nothing special about it. It's an okay burger but why not try something different. I went with the burger b/c that's what I was feeling. However, the nachos outshined the burger. As shown in the picture I also ordered the chicken skewer...another favorite marinated in special seasonings and flooded with smoky flavors that kiss the vegetables. The sweetness of the vegetables and the savory meat make the chicken skewer a non carb favorite for me. The couscous rounded the dish into a nice tasty meal. Finally, my fiancé had the shrimp etouffee. I HAD to try it. The sauce was bursting with Caribbean flavors. The shrimp was delicately cooked. And the first bite was grand! The service was stellar. The host asked if we had a reservation Why a 4 star and not a 5? When the burger came out it was a bit too charred. The shape resembled a premade school burger and the meat was tough.
