$5 martinis, M-F 2:30-5:30
Steven P.

The Polo Grill offers an amazing daily happy hour special. From 2:30 to 5:30 pm M-F, they offer $5 vodka and gin martinis and house wines, including a sparkling option. $10 appetizers are also on offer, with a nice selection for varying tastes and cravings. (Unfortunately, their addictive calamari is not on offer) On a beautiful 75 degree early afternoon, my wife and I took an outdoor patio area table. The vodka martinis were standard size, with house vodka (Khor), which was fine. I also had a nice glass of sparkling wine. For snacks, we had the hummus plate, salmon tartare, and ceviche. The portions were very generous, and we probably only needed 2 of the 3! The hummus and veggies were very good, with a generous amount of both - veggies were crisp and fresh. The salmon tartare was really nice - perhaps a bit saucy for my preference, but still a solid dish. The ceviche was very good, with a variety of fish including a few calamari - perfect avocado, and just enough citrus and some zing to keep it fresh. Tostada chips, thin bagel chips, and other crackers accompanied our dishes - more than plenty of dipping options! Our service was very good, and we even had a nice chat with the chef/owner. I look forward to another easy afternoon on their patio.

We finally got around to trying Polo Grill's social hour. That's something we've been planning for a long time Their menu calls social hour the 5 and dime. All social hour drinks are $5 and all social hour appetizers are $10. That keeps it simple. The drink was easy to choose. We don't like margaritas or sangria and we weren't in the mood for wine or beer. That left the martinis. You get a choice of gin or vodka, dirty or dry, and olive or twist Since the martinis were made from well liquor, we chose vodka. We find less expensive vodka tastes much better than less expensive gin. The well gin is Bentley and the well vodka is Core. Our dry vodka martinis with twists were delicious and shaken enough to be icy cold Just like we like them. We are curious about Bentley gin. For appetizers, we had the Arancini and ceviche. The cerviche included salmon, which was a surprise. The Deep Fried Arancini had a good presentation and the sauce had a spectacular flavor. The Polo Grill is delightfully elegant. It's a pleasure to enjoy a happy hour drink and snack in such elegance. Thank you to Bryan for giving us such good service. Hope to see you again on our next visit.

Shrimp and grits with a wedge salad

Let me start by saying, if I weren't looking for it, I would have never known what and where it was. But I must say I like the decor. The experience was one of the best I've had in Tulsa. Our server was amazing! Kind, respectful and made some incredible suggestions. I ordered the shrimp and grits and a wedge salad and it was to die for!!! The grits had the most interesting flavors and was smooth and creamy. The shrimp was seasoned and grilled just right! Together each bite was better than the previous one!

We visited Polo Grill recently for the first time recently; it was for dinner on a weekend evening. I've very pleased to report that we had an exceptional dining experience from end-to-end :-) While we were there they had a piano-player providing background music; it's a very nice touch, and highly conducive to enjoying your meal. Service was attentive without being overbearing; our server was efficient, friendly, and gave us several spot-on recommendations. The food was both delicious and very nicely presented. Tip: The portions are not oversized, but still more than adequate :-) I won't hesitate to return - highly recommended!

This was a cup of the lobster and crab bisque. It was very tasty and the temperature was perfect!

I actually had the same meal today as I did in my first review... Just because it was that good of a lunch!

Burger and coated fries

An experience to remember! I order a snack that cost over 50.00! My intent was ordering a meal that fed me worth 50.00. The lamb chops from Colorado for 50.00! ITS FROM COLORADO!!! Didn't know Colorado was known for its lamb. I figured paying a price for three lamb chops from New Zealand would be more respected than from up the street. Flavor was basic. Nothing to be excited about. It was a basic Tulsa flavor of salt and pepper. Which suites many? The sweet potatoes were delicious, but it wasn't enough on the plate. It reminded me of my Grandmother sweet potatoes made on Thanksgiving. Maybe she should've started a business! I also ordered the burger because the dinner size price lunch portion Colorado lambs wasn't enough food. I don't care for battered fries. Fresh cut at an establishment like this is of proper order. I ordered the burger well done. Again it reminded me of my grandmothers. It was delicious. Reminded me of home cook. Again nothing special. No house sauce. Simple. This place has promise, but it needs help in the kitchen. Service was excellent! On point! I would go for a nice drink, pleasant atmosphere, and great service. But make sure you eat before you go, or order the burger!

Polo Grill - Utica Square, Tulsa (American) Note on Ratings: Scores are out of 100, emphasizing food quality. This review is based on my subjective opinion, primarily in fine dining. Introduction: Polo Grill, a longstanding fixture in Tulsa's fine dining scene for over three decades, beckoned me for an appraisal after its lofty reputation endured the test of time. Despite Tulsa's culinary evolution, Polo remained a beacon of excellence. With great company in tow, it was time to explore if this venerable establishment still held its own among Tulsa's culinary giants. Atmosphere: Polo's ambiance blends Midwest charm with modern country elements, creating a captivating setting rooted in old-world, country club vibes. The decor, lighting, and artful wine displays contribute to a relaxed dining experience. The diverse elements - from themed decor to sports-focused elements - might cater to a wide audience, albeit occasionally lacking clarity in identity. Service: Bella and Sam, our servers, delivered excellent, personable service. Bella's menu insights enhanced our experience, ensuring our needs were met throughout the evening, aligning with top-tier fine dining standards. Food: Lime bacon-wrapped shrimp, a delightful first appetizer, blended sweet undertones with a tangy lime sauce, elevated by a hint of heat from the jalapeno glaze. However, the beef tartare struggled to find balance due to an overwhelming beef flavor and chunky accompaniments, resulting in an unbalanced dish. The Arancini balls boasted a crispy crust but fell short in texture and flavor harmony. The lobster and crab bisque stood out, delivering a velvety, briny essence with cognac undertones, a standout rendition. However, the filet of beef tenderloin oscar style disappointed with overcooked portions and lackluster accompaniments. Dessert redeemed the meal with a satisfying chocolate Grand Marnier cake, complemented by vanilla bean ice cream, providing a creamy, flavorful finish. Overall: Polo Grill's generous portions and diverse ambiance may appeal broadly. Service and ambiance are commendable, yet the food quality and execution leave room for improvement. While some dishes were satisfactory, none stood out as exceptional, with a significant letdown in the steak dish. Polo Grill's unique dining experience and reasonable prices may still attract many despite its culinary inconsistencies. Atmosphere: 13/20; Occasionally ambiguous but overall pleasant. Service: 13/20; Good service, meeting fine dining expectations. Food: 36/60; Several good bites, some great, but overall room for improvement. Overall: 62/100 Price point: 1 drink; 2 appetizers; 1 entree; 1 dessert: $100.00

They have excellent beef, sourced locally, filleted in house.

The atmosphere is classy, the service is incredible and the food does not miss a beat. They have an extensive wine selection and a very comfortable restaurant and bar. Excellent place for a nice date night or somewhat upscale business dinner. They have been in business 40 years with the same owner/chef, who is very proud to serve the community.

Fun events here ! Get on the email push list !

Consistently awesome ! Pricey !, but isn't that the way excellence should be. On this day it was a beautiful fall afternoon for lunch and David Brunner was playing his guitar on the patio. Never a disappointment here and it never hurts to call for a reservation!

We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. It's located in Utica square where most the cool shops are, so this place is an added plus, PLUS because of that alone. I believe the young, dashing, gentleman's name was Jordan that served us. He was charming, accommodating, and wonderful! He had us laughing. Jordan had us seated outside, and he saw that I was uncomfortable because the sun was hitting our direction and saw another table under a tree had been cleared. He made sure that it was ok to relocate us before seating us there, while another staff (older gentleman) was trying to tell us the table was for another party. PROPS to our man, Jordan, he fought for us and assured us that the table was ours for keeps! So there, thank you, Jordan! The food...c'mon! Excellent! Check out our choices! Ever so fluffy pancakes for my princess, a nice tomato bisque...calamari, 2 kinds of shrimp appetizers, both breaded. The lime glazed shrimp was my fave! There was a fresh hummus and veggie plate I didn't see on the menu that was being served, that I had to have for picture worthy purposes! That was good! We also enjoyed our eggs benedict and a juicy burger. The prices, reasonable! I was pleasantly surprised, and I look forward to returning here. All around, great experience!

This review is of the food. The service was fine. Ambience is good. The food, just not worth the price. For starters, they don't serve bread. They used to. Now they give you a random small plate of Kalamata olives. So strange. It peeves me when you order a Caesar salad that literally by definition has a handful of ingredients and one of those is missing: no croutons. Instead they put a chunk of garlic. So bizarre. My salad had so much leftover cheese and garlic I was tempted to ask for a to-go container. The waitress also up-charged us for a large salad when we said we were going to split one without even asking. Potatoes were fine. Steak was flavorless and even after sending the first one back, I still didn't care for the cook on the 2nd one. Also had to flag the waitress down to tell her about the cook on the steak. A nice place generally will wait and ask if you're happy with your steak. I had to add salt and pepper and didn't finish it. For $205, we won't be back.

There is an abundance of wine to choose from. Our server was rushed (and they were packed) and I didn't get a lot of direction on the wine so I just ordered a white sampler and just asked for three dry varieties. The first one I tried (Collan) was not dry in my opinion. The Triple was drier but my favorite was the Fume. I really got hints of pinion in this final one and ordered another 5 oz. of it. We tried the avocado bruschetta to start. It was four big pieces of good bread but was more avocado toast than bruschetta. I would probably go with a different appetizer next time. We both tried the burgers. I went with the mushroom-gouda one. It was over done and not seasoned at all. The gouda was nice and gooey and the mushrooms were seasoned well. Fries were OK. The table next to us had a couple of the flatbreads and I would try those next time. Back to the service. It was OK but our server had a tendency to just show up at our table and just stand. I would come back to try more appetizers and a flight of their red offerings. I also want to know more about the winery. Maybe after the busy holidays.

The food was so good we didn't even stop to take pictures, but we had a combination of the Prosciutto Fig, and Goat Cheese Flatbread, Garlic Fries, and the Friday Prime Rib Dinner. It's been a while since I have been here, and I loved all of the holiday decorations!

First--this place is STUNNING. It's in the old Palace Café and they've done such a good job updating it while keeping that vintage charm. The dishes, the vibe, the whole aesthetic? Nailed it. Now let's talk logistics because this matters: Getting a reservation was... a journey. Couldn't reach anyone for months. Finally did, booked a few weeks out, called to confirm the day before--nothing. BUT it worked out because apparently they only really accommodate larger groups in their upstairs private room anyway... which is exactly where we ended up. And honestly? Perfect. We showed up a little early and everything was ready. Our waiter Elliot was there and super kind and attentive... just... slooooow. Like we were there for 2.5 hours slow. We were always waiting on something. Food & drinks: - Chouchou (most of us got it): delicious... but it's basically a giant ice cube with a little cocktail. Not mad, just... noting the value. - Funeral rolls (yes, THOSE funeral rolls): best I've ever had. No notes. - Pastry basket: get it. So good for the table. - Fries with garlic aioli + homemade ketchup: you have to ask, but DO IT. That garlic aioli?? I'd order a pint and drink it like soup. - "Freezer Door" martini: I knew what I signed up for ordering a martini... but this was STRAIGHT gin. Could not do it. Bonus moment: we used their side bar area to do build-your-own flower bouquets and it was the cutest little setup. Overall? Beautiful space Great food Fun group vibe Service is slow--plan for it Would I go back? Yes. Would I plan ahead and block off half my day? Also yes.

The sandwich options come in both 6oz and 12oz. I personally think the 6oz was more than enough! Each order comes with a pickle and chips. I ate half of my sandwich right away (amazing) and then half a little later. The pastrami and saurkraut are so juicy that it did make an impact on the bottom piece of bread, BUT I still ate every bite and would still highly recommend. Much like Ava June, everything is a little funky here--not in a bad way, just different and unique. We started with cocktails; she had her usual Old Fashioned, but ordered it as a "normal", with Makers Mark, I had a glass of chardonnay (subtotal $28). She put her Makers Mark Old Fashioned near the top of the best in town ($2 extra for Makers??). We frequently split meals, so decided to share a Little Gems salad, which was VERY good. There are only a few salads in town that I like as it's just not my thing, but this one was super tasty. For our pizza we went with the limited edition Cubano as I love a good Cuban sandwich and have a tomato allergy. They did a good job of converting a sandwich to a pizza, though I thought the toppings were a little sparse for $22. I would have preferred that the pickles have been chopped into something smaller than the thick slices it came with (so it LOOKED beautiful). The best part for me is that they offer a fresh-made GLUTEN-FREE rosemary dough!!!! It was absolutely THE BEST gluten-free crust I've ever experienced hands down. My wife said that she would order it even though it's g-f. The vibe was just good, pretty crowded with a mix of generations. The space is fairly small and tight, so be prepared for the possibility of sharing a table. So if you followed the math above (which should be easy if you knew me!) it was $65 plus tax and tip, so $100 for a pizza and salad dinner.... Would I go back?? I wouldn't rule it out given the fantastic gluten-free crust, but would likely consider somewhere else that I consider a better value before beating a path back to Lofi.
