All Nighter
Debra K.

Another amazing evening! Service was even better this time (if that is possible) and the food was even more delicious (if that is possible). We met an out of town friend here for dinner. Two of us tried the Old Fashion and it was delicious. One of the servers came by to ask us how we liked it b/c they had just changed up the bourbon. We both applauded the choice. Around our table we ordered the molasses chicken and a kale salad, crab cakes off the app menu with a side of grits, and the soup of the day and the cauliflower bread pudding. I loved that our server did not bat an eye about the appetizer and grits side. The soup of the day was a jalapeno popper concoction. It was potato based and was delicious. It would be great to put back on their winter menu. I sometimes want vegetarian and the cauliflower bread pudding was amazing. I will order it again. The "bread pudding" component had just a subtle taste of cauliflower. The lentils and the sauce might have been the best part of the meal--perfect combo of flavors. The fried kale was interesting. Might have been a bit to salty. We stayed around after the plates were cleared for one more drink. Our server suggested the All Nighter. I didn't see it on the menu but it was a coffee infused bourbon, house-made cinnamon vanilla syrup and cream. It literally was dessert in a cup.

The consistency of this restaurant is fabulous. The food always comes out fresh and beautiful. The avocado quinoa salad is delicious. Even though it's an appetizer, I had it for a meal with a side of crispy brussel sprouts. For a small menu, everything is fabulous and does not get old. The drinks are always top mixologist quality! This is a fun place to visit if you are looking for a nice vibe and high quality. It's a different "feel" from other nice places and makes the vibe unique.

Ok let's start w the service. Everyone was nice and polite and you felt like they wanted you there and they loved their job. I loved that the wine was chilled the way it should have been and not just sitting room temp. Shows they care and know what they are doing. Now let's talk food... the wife nabbed the salmon and it was interesting hard fried at the end but not her favorite salmon dish. I nabbed the filet and it was a tad on the small size but cooked perfectly and the sides were well made. All in all worth a cost and to try something more up scale.

Friday night, March 21. Booked a reservation earlier in the week. Earliest available (4 days ahead) was 7:45. Seated promptly at a table along the wall behind the server. Prefer this to banquette seating. Server Kenny was very efficient and knew every good menu item. Had the spicy margarita (4*), crab-cake(4.5*), quinoa salad (4.5*) short ribs (3*) finished with pecan ice cream ball (5*). The short ribs seem just a little undercooked this night, but a generous serving, even when split with the wife. Modern decor, bit on the noisy side. 4.5 stars, rounded up for excellent service.

Bread service. With soft butter - YUM!

evers I had a business lunch at Cheever's recently. It was my first time to the Tulsa location. While I have heard of Cheever's in OKC, I had never been. I ordered the chipped salad with the cowboy rubbed salmon (lightly blackened). I requested the dressing on the side, but it came on the salad. Bread service and a soft butter preceded the meal, and it was a nice touch - especially at lunch service. I ordered a soda water to drink and my glass was never half empty. Our server was constantly refreshing it! While we were in the midst business conversation, our server worked his way around us to appropriately tend to us. The chopped salad was very good. - the salmon was cooked perfectly... in other words, not dry! They boast a menu of many home cooked favorites, and while I would have loved to have chicken fried steak, my current dietary preferences count that out. Haha The service was exceptional... slight disappointment on missing the dressing on the side, but other than that, I look forward to a return. Note: cannot believe I didn't get a pic of the salad. But it was a business lunch!

Overall 4.5 star rating!! Took the wife out for her birthday to somewhere we haven't been before and it did not disappoint at all. Service was on point, attentive, and super friendly. The ambiance was a cool spot for the perfect date night. Low lit candle with some flowers at the table with cloth linen type of spot. The restaurant was clean, not too loud and had a really nice atmosphere. Food: well ordered the Juan's queso chihuahua. Really fun southwest flavors and much to my surprise had a hint of sweetness to it. Really enjoyed this appetizer. We were also served some warm rolls with house butter that had chunks of salt which was absolutely amazing!!! Main courses were the molasses roasted chicken breast and the grilled ribeye. The Ribeye was cooked just the way I wanted and had great flavor, I personally wasn't crazy about the bourbon peppercorn sauce that was on top. It had great flavor but took away from what I wanted from my ribeye which was the char. The charred jalapeño au gratin potatoes.... Now that was with it all... that was delicious and surprisingly spicy if you're not used to jalapeños. Great flavor and well worth it. Now since we were celebrating a birthday, we had to have some dessert and went with the coconut cream pie. This is hands down the absolute best coconut cream pie I have ever had.... So good that I had to make a phone call in the middle of eating it to tell a friend of mine about who enjoys coconut cream pies knowing that one bite of this one and he will never want to have another from anywhere else!! Drinks: we enjoyed some cocktails at dinner and really enjoyed them!!! We were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be telling others about this place and going back. It has a very unique flavor profile that is unlike anything else around. Portions are massive!! Enjoy the pictures!!

I'll start off by saying that Cheever's could be my top 5 favorites since moving to Tulsa thus far. First, the decor was beautiful. Dark ambiance / tastefully decorated. One of the things I check is how clean the bathrooms are. (For a new restaurant, you would hope so lol and they were clean!) Ok now onto the food! The halibut with the shrimp risotto was absolutely delicious. The fish was flaky and juicy. The risotto was perfect, with a nice kick of spice. I highly recommend this! The Caesar salad was interestingly good. It also had a nice kick to it, which you wouldn't think belonged, but it did. I think the shrimp and grits were one of the best I've ever had! I ordered an espresso martini as well. This was the only thing I was a little iffy on because their style of espresso martini was topped with a large amount of whipped Balley's, so it kind of made it into a dessert drink. While the drink was good, I kind of wish I asked for no topping! Our waitress was super super sweet - we definitely enjoyed our service and dinner as a whole. Highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to come back to try the other dishes!

We love the Cheevers in OKC so we were very excited to try this Cheevers. The food quality was just as great as OKC. We started with the Bleu cheese chips (one of our favorites). Then each one of us ordered an entree. I ordered the molasses chicken and it was phenomenal. My daughter ordered the filet and it had a nice smoky flavor. My husband had the seafood tamales. My youngest daughter order the grilled cheese & fries. She seemed to enjoy it. Wonderful wine & cocktail list. Service started out amazing but towards the end the restaurant began to get more busy. At that point we couldn't seem to find our waitress because they had her spread so thin. Ambience is nice. I feel it has a higher end feel than the OKC location. We will be back! Happy there is a location in Tulsa now.

Chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy and breakfast potatoes cooked to perfection. Great Wine selection and Bloody Mary's too!

Great place for brunch, Ambiance is very relaxed and cosy feeling, the service was impeccable. The menu selection is excellent the wine list is great and their chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy was just the right amount of spice not to overpowering perfect blend of flavors.

Highly recommend. Food is 5 stars, large portions and high quality meats. Everything was cooked perfectly. Chicken fried steak comes with two large pieces. Enough to share with leftovers. Professional mixologists can make any drink you want. No happy hour yet but the waitress said they may have one soon since the Cheevers in OKC does. Brunch menu differs from dinner so will definitely be back to check it out.

Cowgirl Benedict

Boy are we glad Cheever's opened up in Tulsa. While we haven't been to the OKC location, we've heart great things. So on this cold morning, we ventured out for brunch and wanted to try something new - Cheever's it is! The location on Cherry street is bright and welcoming but still has the fine dining ambiance. We started with drinks and the server brought out some warm bread. Then we chose our brunch dishes - the cowgirl Benedict for me and the chicken friend steak for the hubs. They sure know how to prepare chicken friend steak - the crust was crunchy but flavorful and the meat was tenderized perfectly. My husband really liked the jalapeño gravy on his. Service was prompt and efficient. We both left very satisfied and look forward to a dinner at Cheever's in Tulsa soon!

Kale Salad with Chicken

Biggest win is a new brunch spot in Tulsa! We tried it out for dinner on a Friday night and circled back for brunch on Sunday! Definitely make a reservation! This new hot spot on Cherry Street has a great decor and even better waitstaff! The menu, although eclectic, had several items we wanted to try. Each item is given attention and it shows!

Atmosphere Cheever's boasts a refined eclectic atmosphere, seamlessly blending modern industrial design with touches of 90s nostalgia and a hint of 1930s flair. The space is adorned with cooler tones of black, brown, gray, and cream, complemented by vintage floral prints that add character to the walls. The elegant, well-lit bar serves as a centerpiece, transitioning gracefully as the restaurant moves from afternoon to evening service. Service We started the evening at the bar, where Jacob provided straightforward service, keeping our water glasses filled and ensuring our needs were met. The manager, Stacy, stopped by for a brief chat; her familiar face reminded me of a previous visit to Sisserou's. Later, we moved to a table, and Kevin took over as our server. He was polite and attentive, refilling our water and checking in on us periodically. Food: "Roasted Chicken & Pepper Jack Strudel," One of Cheever's signature appetizers, the overall flavor falls flat. The appetizer offers mild notes of chicken and cheese, but lacks complexity or depth, leaving the overall taste somewhat bland. While the tangy balsamic glaze adds a hint of brightness, it doesn't do enough to elevate the dish. The crisp phyllo dough provides a nice textural contrast, but the promised curry oil was virtually undetectable, leaving the dish feeling one-dimensional. "Roasted Poblano Cream Soup" The soup boasts a velvety smooth texture, starting with smoky-sweet notes of poblano that transition into slightly salty middle notes of cream and a slight fruitiness from the pepper, finishing with a tangy brightness from sour cream.A drizzle of chili oil atop the soup introduces a gentle heat that lingers at the back of the throat, perfectly rounding out the flavors. "Cheever's Chicken Fried Steak," jalapeño cream gravy and garlic red-skinned mashed potatoes An iconic Cheever's classic, the chicken-fried steak features a crisp exterior and tender beef that isn't overly tough. However, the jalapeño gravy features a monotonal flavor, offering only the faintest hint of jalapeño and no detectable heat. The crust, unfortunately, separated from the steak, creating a disjointed eating experience where bites were either all beef or all crust. The mashed potatoes were smooth and feature notes of salt and butter, which compliments the dish well. "Tortilla Crusted Alaskan Halibut," spicy shrimp risotto, cilantro-lime broth The dish is dominated by an overwhelming lime flavor that overshadows every other element. The risotto, while not mushy, was overcooked and lacked the creamy yet slightly firm texture characteristic of a classic preparation. The halibut suffered from overcooking, resulting in dryness and a muted flavor profile. "Italian Sausage Rigatoni," parmesan cream sauce, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, lemon ricotta, basil The pasta offered a simple flavor profile, starting with creamy and cheesy notes that transitioned to the mild flavors of Italian sausage. Any bite containing sun-dried tomato completely overpowered the palate, shifting abruptly from creamy to tangy-sweet. The sausage was notably mild, contributing little to the overall dish, and the inclusion of basil failed to enhance or elevate the flavors further. "Filet," green onion butter, garlic red skinned mashed potatoes, sautéed green beans The filet was cooked to perfection, showcasing a beautiful smoky char in every bite. Succulent and juicy, it stood out as the highlight of the evening. The mashed potatoes offered a smooth texture with subtle notes of salt and butter, complementing the dish well. However, the green beans were overcooked. They featured a sweet and tangy flavor profile from red pepper and a light sauce. "Roasted Pecan Ice Cream Ball," vanilla ice cream rolled in brown sugar roasted pecans and red chile - smothered in chocolate sauce This dessert is massive. The exterior of the dessert ball offers a delightful blend of slightly salty, subtly sweet, and nutty flavors from the chocolate syrup and brown sugar-roasted pecans. A red chili adds a little kick at the end of each bite. This combination creates a pleasing balance of salty, sweet, and gentle heat. However, the ice cream at the center was bland, dominated by simple sugar and milk flavors, which detracted from the overall experience. After a few bites, the dish's flavor profile became one-dimensional, losing its initial appeal. "Chocolate Layer Cake," seven layers of rich chocolate cake and gooey chocolate buttercream icing, perfect for sharing The chocolate cake was one-dimensional, offering only rich and sweet notes of chocolate. Its texture and flavor were reminiscent of a store-bought cake, though presented in a generous portion suitable for sharing. The texture was slightly on the dry side.

There is an abundance of wine to choose from. Our server was rushed (and they were packed) and I didn't get a lot of direction on the wine so I just ordered a white sampler and just asked for three dry varieties. The first one I tried (Collan) was not dry in my opinion. The Triple was drier but my favorite was the Fume. I really got hints of pinion in this final one and ordered another 5 oz. of it. We tried the avocado bruschetta to start. It was four big pieces of good bread but was more avocado toast than bruschetta. I would probably go with a different appetizer next time. We both tried the burgers. I went with the mushroom-gouda one. It was over done and not seasoned at all. The gouda was nice and gooey and the mushrooms were seasoned well. Fries were OK. The table next to us had a couple of the flatbreads and I would try those next time. Back to the service. It was OK but our server had a tendency to just show up at our table and just stand. I would come back to try more appetizers and a flight of their red offerings. I also want to know more about the winery. Maybe after the busy holidays.

The sandwich options come in both 6oz and 12oz. I personally think the 6oz was more than enough! Each order comes with a pickle and chips. I ate half of my sandwich right away (amazing) and then half a little later. The pastrami and saurkraut are so juicy that it did make an impact on the bottom piece of bread, BUT I still ate every bite and would still highly recommend. Much like Ava June, everything is a little funky here--not in a bad way, just different and unique. We started with cocktails; she had her usual Old Fashioned, but ordered it as a "normal", with Makers Mark, I had a glass of chardonnay (subtotal $28). She put her Makers Mark Old Fashioned near the top of the best in town ($2 extra for Makers??). We frequently split meals, so decided to share a Little Gems salad, which was VERY good. There are only a few salads in town that I like as it's just not my thing, but this one was super tasty. For our pizza we went with the limited edition Cubano as I love a good Cuban sandwich and have a tomato allergy. They did a good job of converting a sandwich to a pizza, though I thought the toppings were a little sparse for $22. I would have preferred that the pickles have been chopped into something smaller than the thick slices it came with (so it LOOKED beautiful). The best part for me is that they offer a fresh-made GLUTEN-FREE rosemary dough!!!! It was absolutely THE BEST gluten-free crust I've ever experienced hands down. My wife said that she would order it even though it's g-f. The vibe was just good, pretty crowded with a mix of generations. The space is fairly small and tight, so be prepared for the possibility of sharing a table. So if you followed the math above (which should be easy if you knew me!) it was $65 plus tax and tip, so $100 for a pizza and salad dinner.... Would I go back?? I wouldn't rule it out given the fantastic gluten-free crust, but would likely consider somewhere else that I consider a better value before beating a path back to Lofi.
