We went with friends to visit and try a "new" (to us) restaurant. Some things you need to know, you really need a reservation, they are quite popular and parking is an issue. They do have valet parking for $10. We had a reservation for 4 at 6:00 pm on Saturday night. Valet parking arrival worked great and we were seated quickly by the staff. We were given our menus by the server and she said she would be right back for our drink order. 10 minutes later she returned. (There was a large table she concentrated her time on). 10 minutes later she brought our drinks. We said we were ready to our order appetizers and in fact we were ready to order our entrees also. She said great! I'll be right back! 15 minutes later she came back and said she was ready to take our appetizer order. We gave her both, asked questions about the menu. In the mean time another server brought bread to our table. 20 minutes later we got our dumpling appetizer. They were great! An hour has gone by and we were getting hungry. Our server is bustling around, but we were feeling a little invisible. We asked another server if we could get our water refilled, they did. Our server eventually came by and mentioned the food should be coming soon, and asked if we wanted more cocktail's since ours were long empty. Only one of us ordered another. At the hour and a half mark our meals arrived. Two filet minions, a Dover sole, and a duck. All were hot perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Just had to wait over 50 minutes for them to come to the table. We asked if the cocktails one of ordered was ready. She disappeared for 5 minutes and brought it by. We were done quickly because we were hungry, the steaks were particularly juicy and tender. We asked about dessert, she said she would be right back. 5 minutes later she brought dessert menus, by now we were quite done and just asked for our checks. It took another 15 minutes to get our checks, wait for her to pickup our cards and produce receipts to sign. The valet electronic receipt said don't request your vehicle until you are 3-5 minutes from leaving. Which we did. When we finally left the valet said he was swamped and had 11 cars show up at the same time, he apologized, but we could wait inside it would be a bit. There was one person receiving vehicles and one shuttling them. We waited 15 minutes for our car to arrive. By now it's almost 8:45 pm. The food was great. The service was subpar at all levels. I felt our server was concentrating on the larger tables and patrons who "appeared" more affluent, working for better tip opportunities. At $150 per person with appetizers and drinks before tip, I did not feel the experience was worth the price. This is mostly for the complete lack of service at all levels. Excellent dining experience during my visit. Food quality is very good, and the wine list expansive but not expensive! Had the dover sole and started off with East coast oysters. The presentation of oysters on coral was very interesting! The mini donuts and Iniskillin dessert wine at the end were a perfect way to cap off dinner. read more

Wanted to like this place but it's hard to when the food lacked originality or flavor. Baron's, which is owned by the company behind Rib Crib, tries to be upscale but it falls flat. The service was good and the ambiance is nice but was not impressed when it came to the food. We ordered the bread, chopped salad, dumplings, and the duck confit. Everything was bland and if I'm going to spend $112 on a meal, I want to feel like it earned that price and this place did not meet that. read more

Took us 18 minutes to get our table, despite a reservation. The best dish was the chopped salad (it's very good). The mussels were good too. The duck was too salty, wine tastes a bit stale, and the heritage picnic was ok- VERY fennel heavy. The bar drinks - fig mule and old fashioned - were delicious. For the price, we won't be back. Ambiance was nice, but nothing to write home about. I'm not a fan of dead animals staring at you while you eat/try to have a good time. read more

My dinner was okay...had the chopped salad, dumplings, and the Cornish hen which were plated beautifully. They were good but I wouldn't say to die for. We went for my birthday at the start of May. Although I see others received something special, we did not but we were seated quickly due to our reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant was perhaps 50% full yet they were turning guests away who tried to walk in. I'm unsure if this is because they had reservations for larger parties later in the evening (we were there at 8pm on a Friday) or a strategy to entice people to come back. There seemed to be a preferred patronage (older Tulsans) who seemed to be regulars based on their interactions with the staff. Overall, I'd say the food is okay. You can find better dining alternatives in Tulsa. The duck was quite dry and the crème brûlée wasn't cooked properly. The cornets were probably the highlight of the meal. The interior design is the highlight of our dining experience. The interior is beautiful but unfortunately the food is mediocre. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to go here for our anniversary dinner as we always pick a nice place with steak. We were able to easily make a reservation and we're seated upon arrival. Unfortunately, we did not use the valet as the guy was absent when we pulled up. The restaurant was very busy, but our waitress was extremely attentive and very kind to us. She answered all of our questions and even went above and beyond to give us free two desserts. what was the anniversary in the other? I don't remember why because she didn't mess up our order, etc. We started our dinner with potstickers that came out almost cold. I'm not sure if that's how they were supposed to come out but I'm used to them being warm however they were very delicious and sauce that accompany it was wonderful. We tried a soup that unfortunately I cannot remember the name, but it had leaks in it and it was wonderful. my boyfriend raved about the asparagus and mashed potatoes and said that the steak was really good. I had the lamb shanks that were really good as well, but it was difficult for me to eat the meat off of the bone. My cabbage was good, but not my favorite. We ended the dinner with a custard pie and a chocolate cake. We found out that they are brought in from aFrench bakery in jenks. Being that we live there, we will definitely be visiting that spot soon. I will say that the ambience is incredibly romantic and that the patrons whether young or old are dressed very well And use to fine dining. We will definitely be back on special occasions! Oh, I almost forgot. Their drinks are phenomenal and they have rare liquor and they're two different espresso martinis that I had were on point. read more

We went to Barons last night for our anniversary. Due to it being our anniversary, the waiter started us with complimentary bubbly. It was a very nice way to kick off the evening. We started with the champ frites which comes with 3 house made dipping sauces (ranch, aioli, and ketchup). Next my husband had the gazpacho. It was fresh and had avocado & crab. We then split a bottle of wine and the tomahawk steak which came with potatoes & asparagus. It was good, and they use a torch to melt the butter at the table (see my pictures). We finished with the chocolate cake which has Kahlúa layers in between the chocolate. It was delicious! Service was remarkable. Setting was romantic but the restaurant is very loud. This restaurant is very pretendious almost to the point of obnoxious. Three of the entrees were served while we waited on the fourth for over ten minutes. Looking around and talking to other patrons who were just as frustrated and waiting for their food also. There are other very nice restaurants in Tulsa that do not have to put on a ridiculous presentation just to serve even a simple soup and who can deliver and execute their entrees all at once especially for what this place charges. Is it worth the price they charge ? Absolutely not for cold food and waiting. Place is a joke. This place always hash tags James Bearden and Michelin on their posts. I *hate* leaving bad reviews of what I think should be great places. But here goes. We had a company party (about 20) here and I was really excited to try this place because we had heard such great things. The decor is fantastic. The staff are very friendly and everyone one of the was quick witted. The menu is inventive. The presentations are interesting if not groundbreaking. But the kitchen execution, sadly, was mostly a debacle. We had a person with allergies including corn. The waiter listened to the allergies and reassured them that there was actually "nothing on the menu" with any of those ingredients in it. Then they served them an appetizer made with a corn tortilla--one of the allergies they mentioned. Another dish has grits--which is cornmeal. This is just unacceptable at a restaurant of this quality. The tomahawks were a hit. But everyone who had any other steak said theirs were not hot and they were served rare. Example, my daughter ordered medium well and it was on the rare side of medium rare. I ordered the antelope and it came out cold. They remade mine and it was excellent. This may just reflect that they don't have the capacity for groups. I really wanted to love this place, but ended up disappointed with such basic failures. I hope they can fix their problems. In the meantime, if you have allergies, bring your epipen and make sure your health insurance is up to date. read more

There is street parking and valet. We stopped in for a drink and some appetizers. I have been wanting to check this place out. It's low lighting and dark interior aiming to give that 1920s classic vibe. It is a small bar, the bartenders can mix up some great drinks and were friendly proving great service. We tried the champ frites and cornets. I love fries and these were good. I really liked the house made ketchup. I liked the cornets but wouldn't get them again, with the way they are wrapped the flavors are more in separate bites. Definitely want to come back and try some dinner items. read more

Service was good, intimate upscale ambiance, definitely a good fine dining experience. When I first looked at the menu I wasn't sure what to get so I went with what I knew which was the filet. I cleaned the plate it was absolutely delicious! I don't like asparagus so I asked if they had broccolini (not on the menu) and they did! My friends went out their comfort zones and all got different dishes and they cleaned their plate as well. Was excited to try Barons and was not disappointed. The decor is perfect, the bar staff crafts amazing cocktails and they're super helpful. Our server, Hannah, exceeded expectations with her recommendations and took great care of us. The tomahawk was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Couple of caveats: parking is a bit of a challenge, but they have a valet which is the way to go. Because it's at the corner of two one-way streets, the valet drop-off is a little tight. Be prepared for a bit of a wait for restrooms as they're maybe a bit undersized for the restaurant. read more

I was so excited to finally find a place that does Dover sole but boy was I disappointed! The fish came out cut in strips and so deep fried it was like eating clam strips!! Worst part paid 80.00!!!! I had no idea this was the preparation. Completely inedible. And what is the deal with the chicken tinga "ice cream cones" just a bad idea. In addition, the bread course was just cold hard bread. The restaurant was upscale and hip, while not being pretentious. It felt special and unique, without "trying" to hard. The food was exquisitely balanced and perfectly seasoned. Our servers name was Michael and our experience at Baron's was pretty spectacular because of him. He gave great recommendations; we had the lamb and antelope with perfectly paired drinks.
