Don't understand the positive reviews. Reservations at 5pm; only one other table occupied--staff was indifferent, unwelcoming. Apparently, it's too much trouble to answer questions about the menu TWICE the waiter walked away while talking to us. My friend ordered a whiskey drink and after some conversation about the beer selection when she specifically stated she didn't want a pilsner and would have the whiskey, the waiter brought a beer, she said she ordered a whiskey, waiter asked are you sure? There was plenty of staff on hand and place was virtually empty, lots of time for the staff to yuck it up at the bar. Surprised the place has stayed open. read more

Worth a visit for the vibe!!!! As others said, you go for the atmosphere. The decor, the music, the glamorous darkness - it's an amazing feel. The wine list book is also impressive. When we checked in at the host stand, we were given a complimentary glass of champagne to take to our seats. How cool is that? What minimizes the overall rating is their limited menu. Their best items are seafood related, and their only steak on the regular menu (steak frites) was tough and chewy (even on medium). The gnocchi is a red-based sauce versus white cream. You cannot be picky here! Their higher roller menu has a nice Wagyu - 8 ounces for $144. This was the best part. The baked potato with it was cut into thin slices and cooked uniquely, yet tasty. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful with the food and wine lists. Overall, the most impressive part was ALL of the food had incredible flavor. The second we walked in, we were greeted with Prosecco and genuine kindness. The staff nailed that rare balance of high-end service without any pretension. We sat at the bar, and I cannot say enough good things about the bartenders, Scott and Zach. These two are true mixologists with deep drink knowledge--but they're also warm, generous, and completely unpretentious about it. We told them the vibe we were feeling and they just got us. Every drink they created felt like a perfect match, like they were reading our minds. Plus, they were so fun to talk to--we ended up chatting about drinks for most of the night, and not once did we feel rushed or like we didn't belong. They made us feel comfortable and welcome in a way that's honestly rare, especially in upscale spots. And then there was the food. My goodness. Every bite was a smile--literally. The chef, Rock (who, side note, gives off major "Tyler Childers if he was a chef" energy), came to talk to us multiple times while we ate at the bar. He was so clearly passionate about his work, so excited to share what he was creating, and just a joy to talk to. He made the experience even more special--explaining dishes, answering our many questions, and radiating the kind of low-key brilliance that's just magnetic. Also shoutout to the bolo-wearing server who, after we complimented his bolo, shared a whole story about his collection. Like... who does that?! People who are confident, kind, and just good. You can tell the staff here is well cared for, well trained, and encouraged to show up as themselves--and it makes the whole atmosphere feel alive and full of heart. I usually feel a little stiff or out of place at upscale restaurants--but this wasn't that. This place is somehow both effortlessly cool and completely unpretentious. Love this speakeasy! The dim low lighting sets the mood, I was surprised when we walked in how underground we were, I think we went down 2-3 flights of stairs. But once you got to the main two levels it opened up into a huge space with the bar and dining room on another sunken level and then a higher dining rooms space. Loved the ambiance, & you're greeted with a class of Prosecco. Very romantic for a date, but also a good spot for just a drink with friends or a group. The menu was a one pager, but there was also a high roller separate menu. We chose the mussels and the steak frites which were both excellent. I will be back again for the mussels alone, it was such a flavorful dish The drinks were also decently priced for a speakeasy. Sort of stumbled on this place (on Yelp) because they had escargot and we were specifically looking for that. Highly recommend this hidden gem in downtown Tulsa. Kind of hard to find, the main entrance is in the back alley of the building. There IS an option for an elevator but someone has to go down into the restaurant and elevator up, to let other people down. It's very swanky and the perfect speakeasy vibe. Complimentary Prosecco on arrival. INCREDIBLY surprised and impressed by the food. We ordered the foie Gras (small portion but that usually is), really great flavor combination. Hard to do escargot wrong, very good. Between 2 of us, we shared the gnocchi and split the surf & turf. The gnocchi, oh my goodness. It had a creamy, cheesy sauce and (kind of) shaved butternut squash. The gnocchi was folded, instead of round balls. Different style, but still so good. Surf & turf had great portions. I don't like lobster, but heard it was really good. The lobster was missing melted butter though. The dessert platter was good, BUT you have to order the whole thing tho. We had 7 people so it was ok to share. If not, it would be too big for just 2 people. The bread pudding was perfection. Only downside...Could use a little more on their wine options. read more

Ok so first off review the outside photos to be able to find your way in. Once you make your way down the stairs the place is much larger than you think. The staff was very nice and explained the menu and even made some suggestions. The wife loved the snails and I'm glad I got the steak! Pardon my French, but these cats aren't fucking around. Rolled into this joint after a long day of nonsense and was promptly greeted by friendly faces. Found a spot at the bar and Scott brought some much needed water and showed me around the various menu pages. Zach took my drink order and relayed it to Scott who served up a stellar Corpse Reviver No. 2 to get my culinary journey started. It was just the right amount of excellent to set my palette. As I was enjoying my drink and perusing the menu, the stress of the day was quickly dissolved by the chill music and relaxed vibe. Appetite engaged, I ordered the escargot and steak frites. Finished up the Corpse Reviver right as the escargot was served, so I had Zach bring out a glass of the Pas de Probleme Pinot Noir to enjoy with my grub. The escargot was out-fucking-standing. Like I said, these guys are on top of things here. As I was finishing up with the escargot, Zach mentioned to the back that I was ready for the main course and brought out a steak knife for my cutting pleasure. When the steak came out I was curious if it would be cooked to my preference. I ordered "on the rare side of medium-rare", and guess what I got. Not rare, not medium-rare, but that happy place right between them. With the mushrooms and brie on top I cut my first bite and popped it in my mouth. There was an involuntary "goddamn" that escaped, to which Scott responded "you can say that again". The steak was great, the fries were properly fried, and the portions were just right. After finishing the wine and steak I contemplated the dessert, but elected to wrap up the dinner with a glass of The Balvenie 12 year. Perfect ending to an outstanding meal. The service was great! I love the glass of sparkling wine when you come in as they are seating you. It's easy to make a reservation and we were seated immediately. We ordered the Chateaubriand to share and while it was very good I think I realized I would have been happier with a regular tenderloin fillet because I am not a massive fan of caviar. But it was fun to try it. We also ordered the gnocchi and I was a little disappointed in that. I didn't really enjoy the taste but it was a beautiful dish. Visited BTA last night with friends at around 8.30pm and were met with a very rude woman at the greeting desk on the mezzanine level. Had no interest in allowing us to come in for a drink, or letting us wait on the (empty) mezzanine level until a space became available (there were 3 empty tables down in the restaurant) I understand people get busy on a Friday night, but the 'soup nazi' had nothing on this woman. It's all in the delivery We had been there before, and had had great experiences, and were excited to come back this time . It was our go-to place for girls nights out. One of our party was moving out of the country, and we wanted to make this a special night. Instead we left with a bad taste in our mouths I suggest BTA re-think their hiring strategies. I've dined here before and previously had very good experiences, which is why this visit to celebrate my friend's birthday was disappointing. I ordered the duck and, after a couple of bites, found it bland and not to my taste. I politely asked if I could order a different dish. The request was met with visible reluctance, and I was repeatedly asked to justify why I didn't like the dish. I kept my explanation simple and respectful. Although the kitchen agreed to prepare a replacement, I was ultimately charged for the higher-priced duck rather than the dish I actually ate. When I questioned this, I was told that "no customer has ever complained about the duck," which felt dismissive rather than service-oriented. At an upscale restaurant, I would expect guest feedback to be received with professionalism and curiosity, not defensiveness. This experience wasn't about the cost difference--it was about how the situation was handled. I hope management will view this as constructive feedback. A more gracious response in moments like this would go a long way toward preserving an otherwise excellent dining experience. read more

I had wanted to try this restaurant for some time and we went for our anniversary as a treat. The decor and feel of the restaurant was the most interesting for us. The service is good and everyone was very helpful. The food was not to my taste. We had the lamb and steak frites. This speak easy style restaurant was truly a treat. In respect to the secrecy that surrounds this spot, I will only share a few things. 1. You must get an "appointment" before going. (If you have a large group, try to ask for the secret room...) 2. Look for the sign in the alleyway with a knife and cocktail glass. 3. It is acceptable to go for after-dinner drinks and dessert (but their dinner menu looked pretty insane). 4. Something might sound weird, but don't be afraid to order and try. They only offer one dessert option, but put several things on the platter to try. One of them this past week was Curry Ice Cream. It sounds weird, right? I don't want to spoil too much, but it was excellent. Last thing I will share is that the chef was trained by a Michelin star chef - and this is noticeable in everything we enjoyed. I was fortunate enough to be able to take my girlfriend to Boston Title and Abstract last night. It did not disappoint. The ambiance gave off a real speakeasy vibe. Music playlist was also very good. We started the evening with a complementary glass of Prosecco, to which our hostess delightfully joined us in a glass when we asked. Chairs were comfy and a small detail I liked were the tables were nice-sized. Nearly every fine dining experience I've had I've felt cramped. The area we sat in was spacious and we felt like we had enough space around us to have an intimate conversation. Nice touch. The cheese board was okay - the biggest miss for us, which doesn't mean it wasn't filled with quality ingredients - just not ones we prefer and that's fine. I actually really enjoyed the sweet jam they had. Bold flavors that would pair nicely with the usual Gouda I have at home. We dared to be adventurous and ordered the Escargot. Very mushroomy-earthy flavor. Loved it. Cooked in garlic, butter and a pesto-like sauce, I'm very happy i gave it a shot I'd order it again. I had the Fruits de mer and it was phenomenal. I rarely get fish in Tulsa so when I knew I was going to get high quality fish I did. Buttery large lobster tail surrounded by a very healthy amount of muscles, crab rice, roasted brussle sprouts and carrots, and shrimp. Everything worked well together. Particular note I loved the worstershire-based sauce the shrimp were cooked in. Girlfriend had the surf and turf. Cooked very well and lobster was again buttery smooth with those roasted vegetables she adored. Desert was grand as well. Had a four desert plate with a cherry ice cream that was like cherry Garcia on steroids, a flan with chocolate base, a wonderful bread pudding and chocolate macaroons. All worked wonderfully together. Two cocktails, one beer, two appetizers, two high roller entrees, dessert all for less than $300. Not bad at all for fine dining. What a hidden gem!! And when I say hidden, it's hidden. Our Lyft driver luckily took us right to the outside door. The downstairs is delightful. It's a beautiful space. We made a reservation 4 days in advance and still had to wait 20 minutes till a table opened. Not much point in making a reservation at that point. They gave us prosecco while having to wait so that was nice. Otherwise service was good with our server especially attentive. Food was decent. Not worth the price point. I've been to Michelin star restaurants and had entire 8-course meals for less $$ than some of the dishes on the menu. Do not order the seafood. It doesn't taste fresh, was bland and overcooked. I had the seafood bouillabaisse stew (lobster, mussels, shrimp, fish filet) and everything except the mussels were below expectations for a fine dining experience. I didn't like that no tools were provided to deshell the lobster. It was stuck like super glue to its shell and getting the meat out was extremely messy with a spoon and fork. Additionally, the meat was tough. The mussels were the highlight. We had them as an appetizer and they were served in a lemon-garlic sauce with bread on the side. They were cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. While I had seafood, other members of my party had steak and enjoyed that substantially so I'd go as far as saying ordering the steak would be a safe bet. It was perfectly medium rare and came with fries and an aioli. It was nice experiencing what fine dining Tulsa has to offer, but if you've been to similar scale establishments in larger cities, this place is not going to meet the mark. read more
