My husband and I visited this wonderful restaurant for our anniversary. There were several couples around us doing the same too. There was not a dress code. The room we were in had a beautiful floral arrangement on the ceiling. It was a wonderful and intimate ambiance. The food was incredible! The homemade mozzarella was delicious. The Alfredo from the cheese wheel was so rich. They even bring out bread with spreads for it. It was all very delicious and filling. I wish I lived in Tulsa to frequent this restaurant. read more

I hate reviews like this, so, short and . . . A month ago we ordered bread, lobster ravioli, calamari and tiramisu. Special occasion, well over $100. The ristorante is so close to our house we ordered pickup through "toast" online ordering service, which I'd never heard of. First of all, "toast" failed to deliver the order, so I must suppose what we received was hastily thrown together at the beginning of dinner service. I will let photos speak and end by saying we threw everything out but the calamari and tiramisu. Even the bread - $5 for delivery - wasn't even sliced, didn't match their online pictures. We weren't mad. Just disappointed beyond words. Unfortunately, in looking for more picture examples, I found a review that sounded just like mine. Fantastic service, wine and drink choices, and flavors! Definitely a top choice for DINNER. Go!! Spend the money! The table side Alfredo is as good as everyone claims. The pork chop and veg was AMAZING! Now, as for the brunch? Unfortunately, not what I had hoped for. If you are ok with lots of carbs, the by all means, you should go! But if you're expecting stereotypical buffet brunch fare save your money. Too many carbs and very few protein or veggie options. Plus they were a bit slow on replenishing items. One of my go-to Tulsa favorites. The food is delicious and very consistent. The chicken parm is huge. The tableside Alfredo and tableside mozzarella are both practically appetizer requirements for the table. The Prossimo staff are all top-tier service industry professionals who are experienced and knowledgeable. They have a brunch buffet on the weekends that is my favorite brunch in town. There is a cute sort of greenhouse-like add on room at the back of the restaurant that is perfect for groups or large parties. Highly recommend! But prepare to spend. I came here fur lunch on Sat and sat at the bar. I started with the ceasar salad which was the right portion size. For an entree I had the pasta wheel with shrimp. We arrived for brunch and even though the restaurant was half empty and we had reservations, it took a while for us to be seated. Then we go to the buffet to find no breakfast items. Who wants pasta and shrimp for breakfast!? I told the waiter we were going to head to another place since we wanted breakfast and he still charged us the ridiculous amount of $35 for this horrendous "buffet". Do not go here! Yelp influenced me to try this restaurant out, so we made reservations for a snowy day after Valentine's dinner. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation and were able to be seated immediately. Our server (Grant I think) was SO good. This staff is trained extremely well and believe in the restaurant. He explained everything so well, which helped us pick our choices. He explained a specialty cocktail similar to a French 75 but with fancy gin, and it was wonderful! Every bite of our meal was tasty. We didn't order any of the tableside options, but we got to hear and see others getting them, so that was still a cool experience. I'd love one of those 90lb cheese wheels for my house! My pasta was a smidge more al dente than I like, but that's just personal preference. The focaccia and dips were probably my favorite part! Oh, and the polenta and meatballs appetizer would be fantastic as an entree even! It was a tiny bit over salted though. Value definitely fits quality, but it is a splurge kind of dinner spot. It's beautiful inside too. Maybe a little cramped, but we didn't feel too stuffy. I have already recommended this spot to others because it's a great experience. We didn't have a reservation when we tried the restaurant, which was probably a mistake because the place was packed. We were happy that they were able to seat us after waiting for about 15 minutes or so. The restaurant was decorated lavishly. Loved that they showcased Sophia Loren on the wall when you walk in. The service was attentive and all the servers including the manager were visibly busy. The alfredo pasta making was quite entertaining. They didn't have Hugo Spritz on their cocktail menu. However, the bartender was nice enough to accommodate for me. Unfortunately, it wasn't close to the one I had in Italy, but I very much appreciated the effort. The Chopped Salad Antipasto and Basil Cream was quite good and had a pleasant mix of ingredients. For entree, I ordered the spicy paccheri alla vodka with a side of chicken parmigiana because I'm a growing boy. I originally didn't want to order the spicy vodka pasta, but I had to compare it to Carbone's spicy vodka pasta and also the waiter said it's quite popular there. Anyway, I was a little disappointed that Prossimo's version didn't come close to Carbone's. Their version of the sauce wasn't as thick and flavorful and I thought it was a bit heavier on the red pepper flakes. Fortunately the pasta was cooked well. The chicken parm was a bit of a let down as well, but I think it's more of a personal preference as I am into the NJ/NY style chicken parm. I think plenty of patrons would love it. My wife had the orecchiette with arugula and sausage and wow, that was excellent. It was bursting with garlic and butter. The argula really stood out to brighten up the dish. Loved it. Now, even though I didn't love what I ordered for myself, I still think the overall quality of the dishes were up there and beats out some of the other Italian places in the Tulsa area. Give it a shot if you haven't yet because I think you will probably like it/love it. read more

So I've been eating here since they opened and I can say you can really notice a steep decline recently. You walk in expecting to be greeted at the door and you wait for ever to see if maybe a waiter notices you, never saw a host. The servers use to look clean and put together, now it looks like they are wearing the same shirt and apron they've been wearing all week. You can watch the managers sit at the bar on their phones. Menu barely has changed and have been running the same special of an over priced steak($200) for as long as I can remember now. The one time I ordered it, it was way over cooked. They did take it off the bill though. Maybe it has been the turn over in staff but with what they charge for everything .($50 chicken Alfredo) There are far better Italian options in Tulsa. Can't say I'll be going back anytime soon with the way this place is falling apart. read more

My first experience was years ago and with reservations we were not greeted for 30 minutes, but now I hear that they have a completely new staff etc. I'm really glad that I went because for the quality and the $29 price point for this Sunday buffet. This place is always amazing. We came for our anniversary tonight. Damon was our waiter, this is the second time he has made my dining experience humorous and fun. We had the beet carpaccio salad and it was amazing. The dressing was delicious. The bread was amazing. Focaccia so light and delicious and cheesy with the roll that was fluffy. Add in the delicious spreads that come with it and it just kicks it up. My husband had the lobster and brandy cream and he loved it. I had the Alfredo pasta and it never disappoints. Then added on chicken and it was spicy and delicious. Definitely the chili oil they put on it was very spicy but I loved it. Then we had the tiramisu and an averna. Damon actually taught me about this last time I was here and it is still the perfect end to a meal. The tiramisu is delicate and light and so delicious. 24 hours in Tulsa! Overnight trip from OKC to Tulsa. On the recommendation of a friend, we planned Saturday dinner at Prossimo's and Sunday brunch at Roosevelt's. Prossimo's was outstanding! That includes the venue, the atmosphere, the food quality, and the service. It was a great dining experience! When we walked in, we were hoping for a table in the bar area. Nice look, great vibe. They escorted us into a separate dining room with a view of the kitchen, and that turned out great. We started with dirty martinis made with Elena Gin. This is an Italian gin with floral hints. Different and good. It won't replace my traditional martini made with Hindrick's, but I plan to add it to my liquor cabinet. We ordered the mozzarella balls for our appetizer. Outstanding! They are prepared table side by taking cheese curds and needing them into the mozzarella balls, covering them with olive oil and sprinkling them with sea salt. Oh my, so good! Our entrees were sea bass and fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. Jan's sea bass was excellent. Flawlessly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The best we have ever had. The fettuccine alfredo is prepared table side. The preparer uses a very large block of parmesan cheese with a bowl shaped depression in the center of the block. The preparer then shaves a healthy portion of parmesan from the parmesan bowl, adds brandy, and ignites it, producing a beautiful flame. The fettuccine is then added to the melting parmsean. I added shrimp that is prepared separately and added to the fettuccine table side. The fettuccine is not as creamy as normal, but it is rich and delicious. We finished with creme burlee and it too was excellent. One of our best meals and dining experiences. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect when my boyfriend took me here, but I had such a nice time that I hope to come back the next time I'm in town, if only to get more of their tableside alfredo pasta! Overall we got to try: - Complimentary Foccacia (5/5): Delicious basket of bread that comes with creme fraiche salted butter, tapenade, and a garlic puree. I had to restrain myself from getting full on this alone, it was so good. - Grilled Flatbread (4/5): Came with fig, goat cheese, sage, and walnuts. I would have like a bit more goat cheese flavor but the sweetness of the fig almost unbalanced this for me. Bf thought it was too sweet but I liked this a lot - Caesar Salad (5/5): Came as a wedge salad, which was unexpected. A little anchovy forward (in the dressing, not as a topping), which I love but may not be to everybody's taste - Table Side II Vero Alfredo (5/5): Standout menu item for me! Prepared in a flaming parmesan cheese wheel tableside by the nicest waiter. I didn't get their name, but I appreciated their good sense of humor and performance flair. The idea is a little gimmicky, but it was really a nice experience. Love how light the pasta is since there is no added cream- all the flavoring comes from unadulterated, good quality parmesan. Could have eaten barrels of this and been happy. - Chicken Parmigiano (5/5): This was the optional protein we chose to pair with the pasta. Highly recommend- it's delicious on its own, but the acidity from the tomato sauce helped cut through the richness of the cheese in the alfredo pasta. Thanks to our waiter, Aaron, who took excellent care of us throughout the meal. He was the sommelier on duty that night, so if you are interested in a wine pairing, that can also be done for you. Excellent place. Was in tulsa for the weekend for our daughter's graduation and came here to celebrate. We started with the tableside mozzarella. Was fascinating to watch them finish, season and add some olive oil and sea salt. Would have preferred to get the servers recommendation on their tomato salad to make this a caprese- but others at the table overrode me. We got the spicy meatballs over polenta instead. Those were amazing too! Two of us ordered tableside Fettuccine Alfredo, They bring a Parmigian Wheel tableside, heat it up with a blow torch, chop the cheese into the crater, mix the sauce and add the noodles. Fun to watch and fun to eat. So good! My only mild disappointment with the meal was the bone in chicken breast we ordered with it. It was cooked correctly, but no seasoning, and no marinade made this dry and tasteless. This is an easy fix. (Some might say they're trying to be authentic, I've been to Italy 3 times and never had anything tasteless. ) The others had chicken Parmigian- which was great. I tried- so good. One got marinara sauce with their noodles, the other got garlic butter white wine sauce. Both amazing! FYI- 5heir red sauce is spicy- which I like, but be aware. The other sauce would taste good on a flip flop. So good! The sorbet palat cleanser was so good and refreshing. Raspberry and lemon chiffon. Loved it. Final thoughts- great great place in Tulsa! Excellent food and unique authentic Italian food. They are also very $$$$. Plan on dropping 150-300 depending on drinks and additions to your order. Italian is not my preferred cuisine, but the first time I ate at this restaurant it was one of the most delicious experiences of my life. It was absolutely five star, and I don't even care about the price. If you read all of my reviews, you will understand that I always care about price, and this restaurant blew me away. The second time I ate there, I had brought friends upon my recommendation, and we were very disappointed by the service. Some of the servers here are phenomenal. They want to make your day, and they interact with you and they don't care about time frames, they're there to talk with you about your food and your dining experience and wine pairings and everything. Some of them are bald, shaven, middle-aged men who don't care about your experience at all. To me, as someone who has been a hiring manager in the past, it's strange that they don't have a little more quality control on the people that they hire, because some of them are awesome, and apparently some of them come across as total assholes. The ambience is curated and cute, and there are different rooms that you can die in with very different experiences, which I think really yields a positive repetition experience of the place. I knew I would eat my weight in bread, mozzarella, tomatoes and garlic puree, so I chose to order another appetizer as my dinner. The Steamed Mussels with Nduja (Atlantic, farm-raised mussels steamed with heirloom tomatoes, garlic, shallots, and Nduja. Our nduja is a blend of pepperoni, salami, pancetta, butter, and olive oil) were a perfect solution to my dinner dilemma. I hate to waste food, and often, beautiful meals like you have here do not reheat well. I was intentionally trying to leave my phone on the seat next to me and enjoy the dinner without taking a billion photos, so I only have the beginner bubbly and one snap of the tableside Alfredo my friend ordered.
