This is the spot for amazing coffee and pastries! Don't be deterred by a long line outside, they're staffed to the gills and move quickly. I was behind 10+ people outside, and couldn't even see inside the shop when I got in line. Less than 10 minutes later, I was outside with two hot beverages and two pastries baked right in their shop. Totally worth it and far better than quickly scooping up substandard facsimiles at a major chain nearby. So, enjoy, sit outside, live the European-style of casually sipping and letting time slip past with the leisure of someone who isn't in a terrible rush and has no interest in conversation with amazing coffee.

Sweet little coffee shop down the street from Tryst & Lost City Books, local Ecuadorian shop with really good coffee and on the lower priced end compared to other shops in the area. Do yourself a favor and get a few Honey Butter Wheat Medialuna Croissants, you'll thank me later!

I stopped by Soleluna this past weekend for a coffee and found it very charming. It's a small coffeeshop and bakery with some seating outdoors and just a high top and 2-4 chairs inside. I stopped by around 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning and walked right in. I ordered an iced americano and drooled over their favorite beautiful pastries (I don't even have much of a sweet tooth, but their pastries looked gorgeous). The service was fast and friendly, and my iced americano was great. I enjoyed my coffee on a walk to Meridian Hill Park. Around 11:00 a.m., I was in front of Soleluna again (just passing by) and noticed there was now quite a line. I imagine it moves quite fast (there's really nowhere to go inside which might make the line look a little longer than it really is). So, Soleluna is great, and it's no secret! If you stop by earlier in the morning, it won't take long at all to get a coffee and a treat, but you should expect a bit of a wait if you go later in the morning on a weekend. I'd happily return.

Very small cafe. Staff was very fast and nice. This pistachio is something to rave about. 10/10

This is a sweet little pastry and coffee shop right near the main intersection in ADMO. Blink and you could miss it, but don't miss it because the pastries are on point and they have all kinds of lovely coffee drinks as well. I would also highlight that the monkey bread is a very well priced pastry for this area and they have different flavors, including savory. Some of the savory croissants can also be a full lunch or breakfast and they also have personal quiches. There are only two small tables inside so plan accordingly during winter. There are outside tables as well.

I've been going to this little cafe at least once a month for about a year now, and I just want to sing its praises a little bit more! The cinnamon rolls they sometimes have on the weekend have to be my favorite in DC (so soft, so gooey, never skimping on the cinnamon) and the quiches are spot-on. Every time I start my day with a pastry from Soleluna it just brightens my morning, and it's so great to see staff making everything from scratch and pulling warm pastries from the oven when you get there early in the day. Glad to have a cozy little cafe like this in the neighborhood and that their prices have stayed reasonable. If there's something specific you want, I recommend coming early because they do sell out.

I've only had coffee takeaway before and I've been meaning to try out the baked goods here. My friends kindly got takeaways for me and they taste absolutely fantastic even the next day after leaving them on the counter, in an air tight container. Would love to come visit the cafe again some time.

Needed a pick me up in the afternoon after a lot of walking. Found this cute little bakery we stopped in. We ordered their Chai lattes and a croissant. The Chai lattes were good. I definitely felt the milk overpowered the chai flavor but it was still refreshing to have. The croissant was thick and not as flaky as I would have liked but still a good one. A nice and quick little cafe to check out!

Super small grab & go coffee shop. Pros: Price point & the croissants are amazing! Cons: Coffee isn't great. Also super let down by the Freddy Cappuccino. Expected something similar to the one made in NY at Cafe Leon Dore but it didn't come close!

The coffee isn't exceptional and I think they were having an off day when I went because they had messed up a couple of drink orders while I waited in line. I was there on a Sunday afternoon and there was a small line out the door, but they moved fast. I ordered an iced latte with chai syrup and I couldn't taste the chai, so either their syrups are weak or they forgot it. Despite this, I would come back over and over again for their pastries. I got a ham and cheese croissant, shaped like a traditional pain au chocolate. The layers are flaky and the crust of it was so crispy. You can also ask for them to be warmed up!

This is a wonderful bakery with lots of great pastries and delicious coffee. My wife and I came here back in May while in town for a conference and we tried several croissants, including passionfruit, pistachio, and guava, all of which were very flavorful and buttery (the guava was the best). I got a cappuccino and my wife got a Freddo espresso, both of which were also delicious and paired excellently with the pastries. It's a great place to grab some coffee and snacks and we'd definitely visit again!

My favorite place for viennoiserie sadly closed its doors and so I began the pursuit of finding an acceptable replacement. Solely a focused on traditional French items with a twist.i indulged in their pistachio and almond croissant. Their pistachio croissant surprised me by not having a filling and only have pistachios on the top (2/5). The almond croissant also wasn't the standard as instead of a frangipane filling it was filled with a sweet almond extract cream (1/5). I doubt that I'll be back for more than a coffee (4/5).

They are open until 1 PM on Saturdays, we reached at around 11:30 AM and I was half hoping for them to be out of most items. Fortunately, even though they were super packed, we were able to find all of the items we were looking for - thanks to the hard working staff as they continue to make their pastries until closing - unlike so many other bakeries these days that make a certain amount and call it a day! Now to the food, everything we had was absolutely phenomenal! I am not a donut person but I loved theirs as they were very flavorful and weren't too sweet. I definitely prefer their Ube and Pandan over the Black sesame donut. The Matcha chocolate croissant and the Ube Kouign Amann were my favorites of the bunch! I cannot recommend them enough, this will surely be my first stop every time I am in DC!

The space is a pretty cute, modern café with cherry blossom décor and a great mix of sweet and savory pastries. We honestly tried almost everything Garlic Scallion Bun - Soft, lightly toasted with just the right crunch. Inspired by a Taiwanese garlic bun, it was super easy to eat and one of my favorites (9/10). Matcha Chocolate Twice-Baked Croissant - A rectangular croissant absolutely loaded with matcha and chocolate, topped with matcha powder. It was almost a bit too heavy on the matcha for me, and the bitterness overpowered the chocolate. Banana Chocolate Twice-Baked Croissant - Banana cream on top with banana chocolate inside. Pretty straightforward--tasted exactly like what you'd expect from a banana chocolate croissant. Ube Cheese Kouign Amann - Unique sweet-and-savory combo. The ube adds a subtle sweetness while the cheese gives it a creamy balance. Rich and slightly dense, and I just wished there was a bit more filling to balance the pastry. Miso Garlic Salted Bread - One of my top picks. Savory, buttery, and paired with a slightly sweet brioche-like base that balances everything really well. Elote Bread - Corn-topped savory bread with a nice sweetness and texture. This and the miso garlic bread were tied for my favorites. Strawberry Passionfruit Kouign Amann - Fruity and rich, but a bit filling overall. I just wished there was more filling to balance the pastry. Sugared Donut - Simple and classic, just a soft, sugary donut done right. Drinks: * Strawberry Matcha & Mango Matcha - Both layer fruit puree with matcha, but the flavors stay quite separate rather than blending together. * Vietnamese Coffee with Cold Foam - Strong coffee base with strawberry-flavored cold foam. It's pretty sweet overall with less of a coffee-forward taste, but still smooth and enjoyable. * White Mocha Latte - More coffee-forward compared to the sweeter drinks, which I actually preferred. Overall, I loved my visit--great spot for both savory and sweet pastries with creative flavor combinations and a lot to try. I definitely preferred the savory items over sweet here particularly the garlic scallion bun!

I had absolutely no plans on buying or eating cake that day, but as a cake lover stuff happens. It was such a cute building the pastries had to be everything! It turned out to be the perfect stop. 1. The looks The building itself is so cute on the outside, and being a fan of the color pink, it instantly caught my attention. Inside, it feels less like a fast, high volume bakery and more like an intimate cake boutique. It gives small town where the owners know you by your first name. You can feel that real love was put into the space and the baking. Tasted like every ingredient was hand mixed, every cake hand frosted, and every cookie carefully hand scooped. They even served my slice of coconut cake on a real plate, which was such a cute, bourgeois touch that I loved. 2. Service The hospitality here is top-notch. On my first visit, yes you heard me! Lol! The gentleman Eric who rang me up was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different cookie and cake flavors. I ended up returning the very next day, and although he wasn't there, the other two staff members working which included Mikaela were absolutely delightful and so kind. The young lady told me her daughter loves the carrot cake as well and Mikaela said they started working there because they loved the patties so much! 3. The Cakes -Coconut Cake: This slice was so delicious, fluffy, and airy that it instantly reminded me of being a kid at holiday family meals with a fresh coconut cake on the table. -Carrot Cake: It was everything you want a carrot cake to be. It was nice and dense yet soft, with a pleasant texture from the added fruits. Definitely noticed pineapple bits! The cream cheese frosting wasn't overly thick and was so good you could eat it completely by itself. -Strawberry Cupcakes: I stole a small bite of my son's. unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. The frosting had a little chemical taste to it but it was a super cute cupcake. To answer your question, will I return? Absolutely! If you are in the DC area or planning a trip there soon, check this spot out. It truly feels like a mom and pop or pop and pop boutique. Not a bakery but a BOUTIQUE! Check them out! I was so excited to try some of these harder to find pastries. I had a Turkish beef börek and a cheese finger börek. They warmed them up for me, but they still weren't very warm - I'd probably ask for them to warm them up twice next time. The beef börek was good; the cheese finger börek was good, too, if maybe a teensy bit dry. I also got one of their signature coffees. While these coffees sound interesting and delicious and creative, I wish there an option or two that weren't as sweet. I tried the Sultan's Velvet, which was just way too sweet for me. Next time, I'll stick to a classic coffee - an americano or a cappuccino - since they have it all. There's quite a bit of seating - some downstairs, some upstairs, and some outside. I sat down and read my book while I enjoyed my pastries. It's definitely the kind of place that is comfortable to sit and enjoy. The customer service was friendly and fast. Overall, I'm glad I stopped by Caspian Crust. Georgetown is lucky to have several pastry shops/bakeries, but Caspian Crust is different and stands out. Its focus on Turkish and Azerbaijani pastries means that there's something for everyone - some classics for those folks who like what they like with their coffee, more savory pastries with meat or cheese or olives, and some sweet but less common pastries as well. Great flavors and variety. It's also cozy, comfortable, and casual, with good customer service. I'd be happy to return.
