Oh my goodness how did I not know about Soleluna. U love it here! The apple tartlette was amazing, the ham croissant one of the best I have had in a very long time, the coffee tasty and the service so friendly. Music was nice and low key. The tropical parrot themed wall paper is super pretty. It's a bit of a hike from my ususal stomping grounds but soooooo worth it. read more

While I was visiting DC, I went to Soleluna and got a hazelnut latte which was delicious but the spinach feta crossiant was okay. It was pretty dry. The place is small with a few seats inside and outside but definitely tight space. But it is in a good prime location to walk around or people watch! read more

My friend and I came here on a sunday afternoon and loved it! It wasn't crowded at all. They have 2 tables and 4 seats inside and then a little bit of seating outside. The staff were very friendly. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it was great. Not too sweet. The prices are amazing - $3.5 for the latte which is way cheaper than most places. There were unfortunately no pastries but I will definitely be back to try them! read more

Got the cookie butter latte, matcha with vanilla, spinach and feta pastry, and pecan cinnamon roll. Drinks were beautiful and delicious and the food was good! Soleluna is my go-to coffee shop in DC! It is a locally and POC- owned business that prioritizes affordable prices for all coffee drinks and also has divine pasties. Most coffee shops in DC will run you about $6-8 for a single coffee drink. At soleluna you will probably spend $4-5 on a drink. That's INCLUDING any additions such as alternative milks such as oat milk AND housemade syrups! I love their lavender oat lattes. This is a rare gem in dc and I will support Soleluna all the way! read more

So this rating is an average of a few things: 5 stars for their pastries 4 stars for their coffee 2 stars for their chai tea Their chai tea had almost no flavor, which was very disappointing. The latte with caramel syrup was decent from what I'm told. But their pastries!!! I'd come for the pastries alone. We got the almond croissant and some dough/sugar combination that sounded like queen aman. Both were absolutely worth the trip. And worth a return trip. Will be back before leaving DC! read more

Picked up an assortment of pastries for our meeting today and wow, they were delicious! We tried the cheese pastry, guava croissant, pain au chocolat, pistachio croissant, cinnamon pecan roll and the Kouign Amann. They were a huge hit! It is always a joy to walk down the street to Soleluna (which we do often, for a midday pick-me-up!). The service is always top notch. Thank you! read more

Great pastries, some don't have a lot of filling, like the ham and cheese croissant, but the puff pastry is amazing! Don't miss out on the cinnamon pecan roll, it was amazing! The service was fast and friendly and the ambiance is classic bakery vibes with a modern update. read more

Amazing pastries and coffee shop in DC at an incredible price point. Here's what you need to know: 1. Small space offering a range of pastries and high-quality pastries 2. Super nice staff 3. Great prices for delicious items 4. Pastries are larger than you think Overall, Soleluna is one of the top places to check out if you want to get coffee in DC and support a family-owned business. read more

I was looking for a good place to sit and have an afternoon coffee when I came across Soleluna. It's a quaint little coffee shop with three small tables on an outdoor patio and a few spots inside. The decor of the place is really beautifully done, and it looks like they normally have a selection of pastries available (by 2pm it was just a few croissants left). I ordered a decaf flat white, and it came out perfectly foamed and light. There was no line when I got there, and the baristas were quick to get the order out. They also have a selection of homemade flavored syrups, if that's your kind of thing. Great atmosphere and great coffee! I'll definitely be back in the morning next time in order to try out one of the pastries. read more

If I could give six stars I would. Soleluna is excellent in every way. My husband and I are leaving the area and we will miss Soleluna the most. The staff are friendly and kind. The coffee is wonderful. But best of all are the pastries!!!! Be sure to get there early in the morning before they sell out. read more

Got a delicious iced vanilla bean latte here yesterday. They make their own syrups in house, and you can really taste the difference. I didn't get a pastry, but I did salivate over all the different offerings they have. In addition to the vanilla bean syrup, they also offer a regular and vegan caramel syrup which is awesome, especially since my vegan cousin is visiting this weekend from Philly. The prices were reasonable and they also offer oat milk if you're not into dairy. Highly recommend checking them out whenever you're in the AdMo area. The space inside is very cozy, but they have some outdoor patio seating that's perfect for people watching! read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place because it is my go-to local coffee place. I have enjoyed coming here for more than a year and have recommended this place numerous times. The prices are very reasonable for coffee qnd what they have in their bakery, especially the pastries. I have tried the everything croissant like with the salmon which is to die for. I admit one of my friends had tried this before me and now I am addicted because of the flakiness and the cream cheese and salmon all mixed together. I do like the almond croissant a lot and the small little bites like the guava croissant which is nice and sweet and small. It makes me feel less guilty eating it. I have visited friends and brought a whole bunch of goodies from here and they love them all. You honestly cannot go wrong with any of the baked pastries. I've also had some of their specialty drinks like coconut cream coffee. However, getting the black coffee is just as good and strong. Their specials are located right near their cash register and they typically have two of the day. I think today they had some matcha type of drink which I'll have to try next time. If you want quality, reasonable prices and love baked goods, be sure to stop by. Oh and they have a couple of tables outside where you can enjoy their fresh air, people watch and relish in your coffee and baked goods with a friend:) read more

Best coffee and pastries in DC that doesn't run your bank dry. I am loyal to this cafe and will suffer a parking ticket just to get my Vanilla Oat Latte. The staff here is SO welcoming and patient, get there early to get a taste of their amazing pastries. Leave a tip and enjoy some great coffee! La mejor café en DC que no cuesta mucho también. This place lives up to the hype. Great coffee and pastries. Barely any seating though, and most of it is outdoor seating. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by this cute and seemingly family owned restaurant. The line was out the door but once we got inside this quaint coffee shop had their systems down and it was very efficient. The pastries looked fresh and delicious - so many were completely picked over before 10 am. Our lates were well balanced, but even better...well priced. For two oat milk lattes with (homemade) syrup $7.70!! They had a range of homemade syrups from honey lavender to hazelnut to vanilla with alternative milks like oat and almond. We will definitely be back! Additionally, this place seemed to be very dog friendly with people walking in with their dogs on leash. Definitely a plus for us! read more

Went on a walk with City Girls Who Walk DC (if you haven't heard of them, look them up right now!) and this was one of the food/coffee options at the end of our route. I chose this place since the reviews looked good and it did not disappoint: super cute exterior and interior (though it is quite small inside, had three little tables with two chairs each, if I recall correctly) and SUPER friendly staff! Great prices on coffee and pastries, too, and my latte wasn't too sweet. Their vanilla bean syrup was very delicious. Highly recommend, whether it's post-walk or a first date, and will be back! read more

Soleluna is a French bakery that occupies the former Nicecream spot in Adams Morgan. The coffee is around $3.50 and a includes variety of pastries from quiches and croissants to kouign amann and financiers. Service was very friendly on opening day. Super cute cafe and friendly staff. I frequent coffee shops and am always left with wanting better tasting pastries and drinks. But Soleluna was the complete package and a 10/10! I ordered the iced Mocha Latte which was pretty good. The star of the show for me were the pastries! they have a couple of unique options but most importantly-they are made freshly in the morning! Came in around 7:30 and they were putting out quiches, and my pastries were still warm. We got the Spinach and Feta Croissant, Pistachio croissant, almond Croissant, Cinnamon Pecan Roll. They also weren't cheap and made sure the pastries were generously filled. Each item was made with quality , you could taste the butter that should be present in French pastries, and Soleluna did it right! Recommend! read more

Very affordable and very good! I love all the drinks I've tried here and I love their price. But definitely a must try in the district. read more

Alright I'm reviving my Yelp account JUST to say... I have tried many cafes in DC and so far Soleluna has my favorite pastries in the city. I said it! ~Pastries are always perfectly flaky. The almond croissant? Get outta town. They also have some unique flavors like guava. I'm drooling on a snowy evening as I write this. The best part is that they are *consistently* good, i.e. there has never been a day when I've shown up and had my sugarplum dreams of sweet and savory pastries dashed by a dry bite. ~The cappuccinos have been a hit or miss depending on who is making them. The drink prices are a little cheaper than other cafes nearby, though, so I'm planning to try one of their coffee drinks the next time I go. ~Misc: The decor is super pretty and the staff member I see there most often is always so sweet. All in all I can't ding them for the cappuccinos because, like I said... they have my favorite pastries!!! For that alone 1000+/5! read more

Best cafe I've tried since recently moving to DC!! Soleluna is a must try if you're in the Adams Morgan area!! The coffee and pastries are amazing and very affordable compared to other cafes in the area! The place is tiny and offers only a few seats but I recommend grabbing a coffee and pastry and heading over to the nearby Kalorama park and finding a cute spot to enjoy! My go to order has been an iced americano and an almond croissant! This place always has a line out the door (at least the times when I've been) but rightfully so! The line does move very fast so don't feel intimidated if you see it out the door! They make both their coffee and pasties in house and you can definitely taste (and smell) the freshness! This place is a staple for me! read more

Had high expectations for this bakery/cafe, so I was a little bit disappointed after actually trying it. The inside space is pretty cozy with only two small tables, but they do have outlets, and they have a couple tables outside. I got an iced honey lavender latte and a kouign amann - I also had wanted to try their everything bagel danish but they were already sold out of that and many other things by the time that I got there (around 11am on a Monday), so definitely get there earlier if you want the full selection. The latte was decent; a little bitter for my tastes and I didn't really taste any of the honey or lavender flavor, but I have heard good things about their vanilla syrup so I'll probably try that next time. I wasn't a huge fan of the kouign amann, as I found it a bit more on the bready side rather than flaky, and the outer layer had the faintest taste of dish soap. The only thing that wasn't disappointing was the price - I think it was $4 for the latte which is incredibly affordable compared to other places in DC, so I definitely want to come back and give them another chance. read more

The coffee is great. They make excellent cappuccino and flat whites. Almond and oat milk are available. The staff is wonderful -- warm welcomes and fast delivery. The space is beautiful. A little tight, but delightful. The best -- or rather -- the most special part, IMO, the house-made bake goods. I especially love the innovative and lovely croissant variations. Almond AND chocolate? Yes, please! But it's the guava croissant pastries that have my heart. Enjoy it!! read more

The coffee was just OK and the pastries were mediocre at best. They clearly weren't made fresh in the morning and have been refrigerated overnight as they weren't even room temperature but cold. The spinach and cheese croissant was mushy with no crusty goodness. The salmon croissant was almost as boring and bad. It's hard to understand why people wait in long lines for this stuff. read more

My go to quick service coffee shop in Adams Morgan! Try and get here early so you can enjoy the delicious pastries. I would highly recommend the Chocolate croissant, and if you crave something savory, the everything bagel danish is 10/10. I usually get the Freddo cap with salted caramel to drink. The staff here is lovely but the shop itself is very small. Seating is limited so don't expect to sit down with your laptop to get work done. read more

This cafe is nicely tucked away in the Adams Morgan area of DC and I stumbled upon it after several yelp searches to find a good pastry/ grab 'n go breakfast place in the area. The front and interior of the cafe is a very elegant green, with three tables on a small platform in front of the main window that give the place its own unique "almost at a cafe in Europe" feel. The people working there greet you with a smile that even on the coldest days would probably feel like the sun was still shining through. They have a just right amount of pastry selection, a thought out balance of sweet and savory and so naturally I had to try both. I got the guava and spinach and feta croissants. The guava is small but might, bite sized but giving you just the right around of guava flavor that is to be craved. I definitely need to come back soon for more of these, they teeter at a dangerous level of being something you could pop 20 a mouthful, or a commodity you would want on a special occasion or for a small win. The spinach and feta was exactly what I needed in the moment as a savory balance and both croissants had the rich flakiness that I enjoy. The chai tea latte was better than any in Boston, but give it a 3.5/5 because it's syrup based and didn't really taste like how chai would. read more

From the first step inside this cute coffee shop, I felt the positive energy from the people working there. All clean and the forest green wood with exotic wall paper creates such a nice vibe. The coffee was great and tried their financiers, were so fresh and delicious. I appreciated that they were not overly sweet, like you find in other places. Keep doing an amazing job guys, loved it and whenever I will be back in Adams Morgan on my mornings, will definitely visit you. Now my favorite coffee spot there. read more

This place has outstanding pastries. From the standard croissants to the guava pastries to the mango danishes, they are all absolutely delicious. It is really worth your while to visit this place just for the pastries. One of the best places for pastries in the DC area, for sure. And the staff are super friendly, making for a pleasant experience. Plus the owner has done a great job with the decor, recalling a classic parisian cafe. Very charming. The one bad thing is that their cappuccinos, lattes, and other hot espresso drinks are bad, bordering on terrible. Too much milk, wrong temperature, you name it. It's a shame, because they have an extremely high-end espresso machine. I really hope the management gets someone in to better train the staff on how to make proper hot espresso drinks. If it had good coffee, this would be the best cafe in town. read more

Pastries are lovely, especially the flaky, buttery croissants (the kouign amman, though tasty, would be much better without the ton of grainy sugar on top), the staff sweet, and the little deck adorable. The coffee, however, is mediocre, with a burnt taste other Yelpers have pointed out. It's a shame since it is far more affordable than the competition. But all in all, a great addition to the neighbourhood. read more
