Nails 2000 moved to this spot and I am so glad! I love the people who work here and now they are in a new remodeled spot. It doesn't get much better that this. I always come to get my eyebrows done and we also come every year on opening day of baseball and get baseball pedicures. I get my big toe painted like a baseball and they always do an amazing job. I've had to wait 20-30 minutes WITH AN APPOINTMENT at this place but I love them. They do quality nails and brows. Huge fan of Quang (sp?). If you have a set time put your foot down. Even if you have to wait, enjoy some cucumber water and chill - it will be worth it! read more

Horrible nail job. I literally have my nails done every 2-3 weeks. I asked the guy to not leave space between cuticle and nail he said he understood and then continued to drill away few min later anyways. Leaving me upset because just getting my nails done paying $40 fill to leave with them looking like they need a fill already. Just so you can come back sooner. As if people just have time and money to do so. Also the guy that did my $34 pedicure was very lousy not cutting all nails and cuticles properly when I got home noticed I still had small ingrown nail he should have cut down. $75 bucks out the door and not happy. This was my first and probably last time here. My mom has been here before and said good things so I went and got a Mani/Pedi. The people weren't the friendliest, I enjoyed the other costumers company more then the employees. I use to come here solely for pedis since it was near work, but soon after I found myself coming for both my hands and toes. I've had most employees do my nails and I've never had any complaints, but I do tend to ask for Tiffany, she's an absolute sweetheart and is honest about things. If she's never done the design you ask for, she's totally willing to give it a shot in which she's always been able give me my desired design. I came to Austin from Atlanta for my friend's wedding and we decided to do a spa day to wind down from the long weekend. We called SoCo ahead of time and made an appointment for 4 people. When we came in, the only seated 2 of us. My friend and I waited patiently while my other two friends began getting their pedicures. While we were waiting, we noticed there was a reoccurring yelp that came from the far side of the salon. After about 30 minutes two new customer walked in and were served before us. For another 30 minutes we waited while the yelling increased in frequency and in volume. I finally got fed up and decided I didn't want my manicure anymore. One of the shop clerks tried to pacify us by saying this customer's behavior was ok because he was a regular. To be frank, I do not come to nail salons to be barraged with drunken screaming. It's not ok. It will never be ok. You should manage the comfort of all of your customers not just one loud, belligerently drunk man. These customers were taking shots and screaming in the salon. If that's you're idea of a spa day, find yourself at SoCO. read more

Went in tonight and it was pouring rain. Got an SNS maincure and a pedicure. After my pedicure the two people I asked after waiting awhile said my toes were not dry and to wait so I didn't mess them up in the rain. After sitting there awhile and bumping the polish a few times I went and asked it I could switch to gel because I needed to leave. The girl told me I had been dry and could have left awhile ago they thought I was just waiting on the rain. Miscommunication, no nig deal. I still wanted to switch to gel becasue I have a trip comming up and did not want to risk it. They stayed a little after closing to accommodate, which I really appreciate.Tiffany also did a great job on my SNS manicure. They staff here is great and I highly reccomend. I been here to get acrylics done here 8 times and everytime they messed up my nails and I always been nice about it but I went there yesterday and got my nails messed up again and after that I was done with them. I asked to get a red ombre but they told me they couldn't do it which confused me because they had red dip powder but somehow they couldn't do it but they could do yellow ombré which I had to get instead and before she started to put the dip on I asked her if she could make my thumb nail smaller because it WAYYYY too big and it's clearly noticeable she said she going to after she was done with them but never did. read more

Front desk lady did my nails. Water was scalding hot and continued to be scalding despite her trying to make the water cooler. She then proceeds to cut me deep when clipping my cuticles. Doesn't even realize I'm bleeding. I wash my foot off in the jacuzzi water and she looks upset that I rinsed my foot off... I told her I was bleeding and she proceeds to toss the nail clippers in the tray and barely cleans my foot with green rubbing alcohol? She didn't take the cuticle tools out of a sanitary bag or a cleaning solution when she started my pedicure and literally just took the cart away with my bloody cuticle clippers after so I'm sure my clippers weren't clean. My toe is inflamed and red and swollen and I'm worried about possible hepatitis C transmission from these unsanitary nail items. The state really needs to check this place out for sanitation practices as hepatitis C is on the rise in Austin. I really love this place but the fact this lady seemed to rude and impatient with me when she literally cut me and didn't clean any tools ever at all makes me worry about my health after coming here. Sadly, I don't think I will come back and I really wish she would have just cleaned the items cause now im worried. read more

DO NOT COME HERE FOR PEDICURES. My friend & I came to SoCo for a pedicure, and I got the $30 classic pedi. When we were done, my ticket said $50. I asked why, and the woman told me it was because i chose to have gel on my toes. I was like okay, that's fine. Gel usually costs more, it's not like I wasn't anticipating that, I just wanted to be sure. when we walked up to the register, a different woman added another $15 to my ticket. I asked why again and she said it was for the chrome color i got. I ended up paying $65 for a $30 pedicure - which I am NOT happy about. My toes are not evenly shaped in the slightest, the color is nice, but they NEVER told me it would be an additional $35 for what I was getting. Every single other nail salon I've been to ALWAYS tells me when something costs extra. I honestly feel swindled. They didn't tell me until my toes were already done so i didn't have a choice but to pay it. My friend got the next pedi up from mine which was $45 and she ended up paying $80, again without anyone telling her what costs extra. I'm disgusted with the unprofessionalism. I have gone to SoCo before to get a manicure and had a good experience, so I'm very disappointed to say I will not be returning. I've never paid $65 for a classic pedi, gel/chrome whatever. A day later and I still woke up pissed off that I was forced into spending more than twice as much of what I intended on spending. read more

Beautiful new salon with a large selection of colors. Went here on a Saturday morning for a mani/pedi and despite us being the only clients there, the salon was as loud as a sports bar. The TV's were turned to a game and all of the available technicians were screaming at the television. After asking if twice if we could move to a quieter area they rolled their eyes and reluctantly quieted down. Would not recommend if you are looking for a relaxing spa experience. read more

I usually do acrylic nails and the first couple times I walked in I just happen to get Stephen who is absolutely the best but after I started going for awhile again just walk in I found out it can be hit or miss with the nail artist sometimes great sometimes ehhhhhh but now I make appts to see Stephen every time and now my nails always look amazing !!! I've been going to SoCo Nails (formerly Nails 2000) for a few years now and am truly impressed with the new location and additional services they have to offer. Previously, it was more of a no-frills salon where I could dip in and get the best quality manicure/pedicure for very reasonable price. The new location is definitely more refined & chic but has maintained its homey aspect! They expanded their selection of polishes, gels, and SNS colors offered and continue to exceed expectations with my nail art requests. The salon now provides complimentary drinks to help you relax, but I think my favorite new service is the deluxe pedicure which comes with a slew of treatments including a mud mask that makes your skin feel so smooth! SoCo Nails is definitely the best nail salon in town if you value comfort, quality, and good service. read more

I went here last Friday for acrylics with gel polish. Anyone who has had this before knows that it usually takes 45 minutes or so. The guy finished my nails in 20 minutes. He did not trim back my cuticles, didn't wipe the powder off my nails before applying the gel and would let me keep my hands under the light for more than 20 seconds. I pushed back about all three, but he said no that's not how it's done. The very next day one acrylic fell off. Two days later, another fell off. I called and they were very apologetic and told me they would fix it. I went back in and had my nails redone by a woman who took her time and I thought did a great job. Three days later, another acrylic fell off again. I'm not sure if they are using the correct glue for the acrylics. They seem so fragile, it's very strange. Usually my acrylics last 3 weeks. They need to revisit training and the newest techniques. read more

I've been going to Soco Nails since they've opened, however, I was a client when they were across the street at 2000 Nail. I LOVE these people! They are always extremely kind and welcoming. Quang & Tiffany in particular! Quang does my solar nails (for years now) and he's the best! Even when he's swamped and someone else takes over, i'm always satisfied!
