I desperately needed my nails fixed because id broken my real nail AND one of the acrylic tips. I went back to the original place (for the third time since Christmas) but the one person able to do acrylics still wasn't there and the woman in the shop still couldn't tell me when she'd be back. So i drove to two other places before arriving here (none of them were able to take a walk in). Here, they were able to seat me immediately. They had me in and out in under 30 mins (including drying time). Also, after tip it was only $14 for the two nails. The shop reminded me of the shops i grew up sitting in waiting for my grandma to get here nails done. Even down to the picture of the hand hovering above a strawberry to advertise french manicures. Not sure if this will become my go to place but its good to know they're close and reliable if im in a jam. read more

I was not relaxed, I was burned during my pedicure, pointed at while the techs talked with one another. I was lied to about French tips being $7 than at the end they were all of a sudden $10. I was almost charged twice for a pedicure $33 for the classic (which wasn't on their advertisement) + a $45 "fill" why were there two charges for my pedicure ? My manicure looked extremely poorly done, my hands were not taken care of while the service was performed at all what so ever. No menu of services I was never asked what kind of pedicure I wanted or presented with some card of services they had just assumed i didn't have money I guess. I wanted full leg scrub warm towels she look like she didn't even want to waste her water didn't turn on water till half way through the pedicure no soak no relax till almost don't barley a minute massage on my legs barely any lotion like she was in a budget. I'll never go back. She said we have to ask about what we want I was like oh ok. Other salons when you sit in a seat they show you what packages they have offer you a dam drink. I had to ask for a drink an hour later and she gave me hot water bottle. But she was quick to share me about coming more often she should have them said do you want a scrub with warm towels since she took a minute to shade me. I've been coming to US nails for years. While Victoria and nick are technically skilled, their establishment is plagued with the anti-blackness endemic to so many nail salons in this area. Despite instances where they were racist (e.g., accused us of stealing used nail polish and later apologizing, blowing through appointments, treating white patrons with greater care/not rushing them) we continued to patronize them. After coming in for an appointment to find another person in the chair, waiting for 25 minutes and ultimately leaving, I'm finally done with US nails. If you're Black, consider patronizing a black-owned shop in the area that will treat you with a bit more respect. read more

I have been going to US Nails for around 7 years. I usually am served by one of the delightful young women. Today the slender gentleman was the one who helped me. If he is the only one to take care of you, tell them you will wait or go someplace else. He does not know how to communicate, and argued with me when I said the color he was applying was not the same one I selected. He did a shoddy job. I will never go back to him again. I finally decided to get my nails done after 9 long years. I was referred to Victoria (which has been working there for 10 yrs) & she was the sweetest. I originally went to have solar nails put on, but she quickly recommended getting a gel coating instead. Victoria said they I had healthy beautiful nails and that I didn't want to ruin them with adding fake nails. She gave me great client education & told me that over time the fake nails will begin to get thin, as it requires a machine to grind. I listened to her, as she was the professional after all. I was SOOOO grateful that I did b/c I loved them. They look so natural & feel fabulous. It cost me $27 for a mani with the gel coating and french tips. It took about 50 minutes and I was impressed with her attention to detail. I asked her if they had a website or if she has heard of Yelp & the answer was no to both, so I thought I would give her a nice review on here. Thumbs up to Victoria at US nails. Horrible!! Paid 40$ for a pedicure with gel and got no massage. Lady said she doesn't do lotion with massage and swore she did it. The only thing close to a massage was 20 seconds each leg of the oil you pay for them to put on before rinsing it off. I could've went anywhere and got scrubs and a decent foot rub done for 40$. Loved the atmosphere and the workers were very attentive with our needs. They made conversation with us and didn't get distracted while doing so. Another thing I like is that my nails have lasted me up to a month without breaking or falling off. Which is definitely worth the money I pay for them. I usually get a French tip mani and pedi and I'm in and out within 1 hour (max 1 and a half hour if they're busy). They try to listen to all my requests regarding shape size and style. It's a strange and interesting world - visiting an establishment where most people don't speak the language. Honestly, I get a bit of anxiety every time I need a manicure and pedicure. It's like playing chance - sometimes I get a great treatment at a fabulous price, other times I get a sub-par experience, and most of the time I can't understand a word being said... you really never know what can happen at your neighborhood nail salon. This go round I wanted to try a new place, close to my home and not readily reviewed by Yelpers. I walked in on a busy Friday, signed in and was quickly steered towards the pedicure chairs. My lady was quite nice, spoke a little bit of English and went to work on my toes. I would assume she was 8 months pregnant and every time she had to bend down or sit, I wanted to help her out. I almost grabbed the brush and started to work on my own toes - all that moving and bending around could not be good for her right? My polish job was alright, and we moved to the nails. She did my fills - in a very kind and gentle way. No burns, or rough handling. She did step on my foot, and I asked her to redo my nail after all was said and done. So why wasn't I impressed? I don't know if it was the fact I wore semi-tight peep toes later that night, but my pedicure looked really bad the next day. My nails are doing fine I must say. The price was good - $40 for the pedicure + solar nail fills. Service was fast, especially for a busy Friday night....but I wasn't sold yet. So it's not the classiest place. A friend of mind lives in the neighborhood so I came here just for her. I get pedicures on a regular and I've never had them dig into my big toe they way they have tonight. I love it. I have fairly nice clean feet but my big toe always hurt. I thought my toe was too fat and the nail just rubbed against the skin. She picked out a huge piece of dry dead skin from the side of my big toe nail. I've only gotten my nails done once before, but I wanted to get a mani and pedi before my wedding. I went with three friends (two of them bridesmaids). Two of us got mani//pedi and two got only manis. Here's what I really liked about US Nails: - They were fast - They got all of us done at around the same time - They were thorough - They were clean - The nail polish didn't chip for days (my toes still look great) - They massaged our backs with hot stones while we waited for our nails to dry - They massaged our legs and feet with hot stones as part of the pedicure - The massages were unexpected (a nice little bonus), totally free, and felt awesome in the midst of all the wedding stress The only things I didn't like was that the ladies didn't really speak English, so it was a tad hard to communicate. However, they were very sweet and friendly. The other thing that kind of rubbed us the wrong way was that one of the ladies told my sister that her original nail polish was ugly and that she should never use it again. I go here for my eyebrows-- I hardly get my nails done. With that being stated, there's a guy that sits in the back that did my nails. I wish I would've remembered his name. He did a horrible job. I got the gel polish and the next day one of my nail's paint began to chip. Nothing I did. Then I looked closely at them and they were so uneven. 3 nails were shaped like slides, not straight across. I know to check before I leave the next time. I know he won't be doing them though. He also did my eyebrows. I asked for the lady who normally does them (she wasn't there) but he assured that he was going to do a great job. I told him I only wanted them shaped. My eyebrows are already thin enough, but shaping makes them look perfect. He finished one brow and I was sooooo upset. Luckily, I was just having a mommy's day out and not going anywhere special. They were soooo thin and downright ugly! Then he asked if I wanted him to shape the other one instead... It's bad enough I look chola on this side and now you want me to walk out with two different brows?!?! Lesson learned. He won't touch anything on me again. read more

I rarely get my finger nails done because I think I have ugly hands and nails (wide nail bed and uneven nails that constantly break). So I'm not typically wanting to call more attention to them. I do get pedicures once in a while. I recently moved to Austin and decided to try a new place for a pedi AND mani. I like how my real nail bed shows through the clear coat and, in my opinion, these don't look like super gaudy fake nails. There is no extra gunk under the nails and they aren't super thick nor too thin. The gentleman communicated with me to make sure I liked the shape of the nail. Once I approved the shape, when he went on to file the next nail, he always looked back and compared them all together to make sure they matched in shape. I though that was pretty thorough. He didn't talk much with me, which was okay--but he did end up putting headphones on towards the end and making a phone call. I wasn't super unimpressed about it since he spoke quietly and kept his answers short in the phone conversation. The one thing I was a little nervous about was that I asked him to cut my cuticles and he pulled a cutter from out of his drawer and stuck it right back in. Wonder how many cuticles he has cut without sanitizing it? The pedicure was quick and had minor frills of massaging the legs. The actual pedicure came out nice and was thorough. I did not notice where he pulled the cuticle cutter from for my feet as I was distracted with enjoying the massage chair. It was a Thursday night at 6pm when I arrived. The place was pretty busy the entire time I was there and I waited about 3-5 minutes to be seated. Total was $68 (not including tip) but I don't know the break down of what was the pedi or what was the mani--and I believe cutting my hand cuticles usually costs extra. All in all, I am happy with the end result. I wish it felt more luxurious, but I'd be more annoyed if it were a luxurious experience but the end result was crappy. read more
