I'm not into the fancy, painted nails. I love a really good pedicure. The kind where you look at your feet afterwards and throughout the day and say, "wow!" I have really neglected my feet and was in dire need of a pedicure. Thursday night I did a search on Yelp and found Hooky with really good reviews. I called Friday morning for an appointment. She asked what time I needed, I asked for the next earliest. She said, "can you come now?" I said I can be there in 15 minutes. I'm so glad I took a chance. While Alfie was my long time guy, and always knocked my nails out of the park, he recently moved away, and now his mom Cindy does them. Sue did amazing on my nails and I love how they came out. The only complaint I have is that they tried to charge me five dollars for shaping when my nails were already shaped before hand, and they added on $15 for chrome. None of those costs were discussed after I specifically asked about the price of the nails. When I called on the phone to ask about the specific nail set, they said it would only cost $45. Summed up, the nails came out great and I loved them. I just felt very blindsided and didn't like the fact that they were trying to charge me and being sneaky about it. read more

The pedicure was super relaxing and they took their time. The place is pretty small so it was quiet which was nice. But my manicure is what stole the show! I have short nails so I think some techs struggle with that. But this is the best manicure I've had in YEARS! My tech was so detail oriented and she even went back and redid a nail because it didn't meet her standards. I couldn't be more thrilled about my experience and how great my nails look! I got the Hooky Pedicure and a full set with design. I had reached out a week prior to see if they could do something similar to a design I was inspired by and they responded yes! I am so pleased with the service here. I was appreciative that they took time doing my pedicure and let me feet soak for the full spa experience instead of rushing me. Henry did my nail and he was attentive and assured me that they would come out beautifully and they did! I will be a returning customer. I came to get my acrylic set removed and replaced with gel and man.... I don't usually like getting my acrylics removed considering I've had a bad experience with the past techs removing them. This place did not miss though, I gave them a chance and boy am I glad I did. The woman was so kind and sweet. She had asked if I wanted water and made sure I felt comfortable. I went to my regular nail place on Brodie and it was a longgg wait so I decided to give this place a shot. There was a wait there as well, but I live close so went home instead of waiting there. I was greeted promptly and with a smile. The pedicure chair was comfy. I was offered a drink: beer, wine, mimosa, or water. I chose a purple/grey color for my toes and wanted a match for my hands. I didn't think anything of it until I got home saw they didn't match at all. My toes were under the table so didn't think to put my hand down to match but I wish I had checked. The gel color is more of a green/grey. It's not the end of the world but not a color that I would have picked. This will not prevent me from going back as the place was clean. It's close to my home and the people there were very nice. I got a coupon (new client) for 20% off next time. I will surely go back for that! Give them a try. read more

Ohhh noo! Henry the previous owner was not available for my last visit so I had my nails done with someone else. No one told us that indeed they had sold the business and I just found out today. I didn't want to write a review about my last experience because I wanted to talk to Henry personally and let him know how awful my nails looked after my appointment with that other person. My nails bubbled up at the end or tip and the color was dull. Now that I have heard that the previous owner sold it is obvious why all of the bad reviews are coming in. Based on the quality of my last experience there I will also no longer be visiting this salon either. Henry! Well...where to start. I called the day before to make an appointment for the next morning. I make it for 9:45am. They call me at 9:30am asking to push it to 10am, sure! Go in at 10 and when I walked in you would have thought I was the biggest inconvenience. I mentioned I have an appointment for a gel manicure & pedicure...*crickets*. So I sit down in the waiting area, they then direct me to a pedicure chair. I had to ask about colors to choose from. I sit down my water is cold. At this point this entire experience (3 mins) is so awkward and I truly felt like such a burden, I didn't say anything...(a guy came in after me and did and it took about 80 times for them to get the water warm). ANYWAYS, I asked if my nails and toes could be done at the same time "absolutely, sure"....nope not the case. THEN the lady doing my pedicure CUT me like bad on my foot. I said "ow" and pulled back because she was like dozing off and doing the callus remover on the sensitive part of my skin and without noticing just was rubbing my thin skin raw.
