Long version: Hooky Nails is a new nail salon located on Brodie Lane close to William Cannon. I live in Round Rock and I used to go to a salon by Lakeline where I met Henry. Without a doubt he has been the best person to ever do my nails in Austin. He went on his own to open Hooky Nails with his wife so you bet I'm going to travel south every 2 weeks to have my nails and feet done. That's how good the man is. The shop is incredibly cute and chic. It's very cozy and inviting. The pedicure chairs are extremely plush. So plush that you can get a massage without your whole body jiggling around. The display shelves are mesmerizing. There are so many colors to choose from no matter which route you go (regular polish, gel, sns). The atmosphere overall is calming and relaxing and it's even better with a mimosa by my side. :) I challenged Henry to do some cool designs on my nails and he delivered. He takes his time to make sure that everything is perfect. He also gives the best pedicure. He's gentle during the process but he cleans up my feet nicely every time (and the massage is phenomenal also). If you're in the area and are looking for a new salon you have to come here. This is my second visit to Hooky and I think I've found a home here. I came to get a manicure and was very nervous about it. I've been to many nail salons and they all seem to rush you through and make little nicks on your nails. Not here!! Ahn took her time and did EXACTLY as I asked. I always get my nails coffin shaped, but they never end up looking how I want, expect for today! I loved this place before it was sold. The only people there now who gives good mani and pedi are Tony and Su. I went in today for my usual and they had only three people working on a Saturday. Turned away 4 people within 1 minute. Not well managed or run any longer. That is a lot of money walking out the door...easily $250 given two of us wanted mani/pedi and two wanted pedis. Prices are great and the salon uses up to date equipment with plenty of color options. I was impressed! They have precautions in place due to covid that make you feel safe. It was super clean. I went to this spot thinking it was good because of the reviews. They were very nice overall. I asked for a design and he gladly agreed to do it. I sat there for 2hrs for this design. I usually would not take the time to review but this was pretty bad. They offered me a 20% refund back or a color change but I didn't want to sit for another 2hrs to be unsatisfied again. Staff offered me a beverage and got me seated while waiting for a pedicure and manicure. Anh was the staff who provided my spa pedicure and shellac manicure. The foot massage was so good I could have fallen asleep! I usually dread pedicures because they're a little uncomfortable but Anh made my feet look fresh and feel great with no painful poking or digging. My toes were painted before I knew it! The employees were very nice and I think the salon/owner and manager did my nails. However, things got really busy and my full set seemed very rushed. Called in a little after 6 p.m. to find out if they could do pedicures before closing at 7 p.m. We arrived at 6:30 p.m. and started picking our colors. The polishes are all brand new and numbered to correspond with a full deck of swatched nails. From start to finish, the co-owners took their time with every detail. They care about quality, and it shows. I have to admit, my toes have never looked this good before. To top it all off, they're offering 20% off pedicures during this time.
