Very cute cafe with lots of food options. The shu mai and har gow were good but took some time. The soy sauce was actually very good. Hubby had the Mongolian beef with rice and said it was good and flavorful. The strawberry bingsu was very strawberry. The side dishes of compote and mochi were appreciated. Service was very attentive. If we can find parking, we will be back.
Dinner for 1 on a Friday. Got in around 6pm and it was quite crowded. Since I was just 1 person, was able to snag a corner table right away. My table was super close to the other table at the corner and I can hear and see what they were doing. I ordered a beef chow fun and it was good. There was just 1 server and she seemed a bit stressed. Someone from the kitchen came to help out and that seemed to help a lot. Quick and easy service. Since I was just one person, didn't really order anything else. Good spot!
I was craving bingsu for dessert on a Friday night, and saw Snow Bliss was open late! There was plenty of parking, so it wasn't a problem to find one. We were seated right away and there were so many good options on the menu. We opted for a Mango Bingsu which was so refreshing and came with mochi! As we were eating, the food that other tables ordered smelled so good. Definitely going to come back and try the food on their menu! Also the server was so friendly and accommodating to all the tables. You can tell it's a popular late-night spot since there's not a lot of food places open past midnight.
Late night bites and desserts in West Portal. After a night out, they have a wonderful selection of Chinese food, dim sum, shave ice, and other desserts. The mango bingsu was so soft and deliciously refreshing. The shaved snow was so fluffy and creamy. It paired perfectly with the golden mango chunks, mochi, and topped with a heaping scoop of mango ice cream. This is easily shareable with 1-2 more people. My friend ordered the mango sago with coconut milk. Overall, it was tasty but a bit off putting when it came served in a mini bathtub. Service is quick and friendly even on a bustling night.
Surprisingly one of the best pepper beef steak rice plates I've had at a bingsu place!! I would recommend NOT doing à la carte; the past few experiences I frequent here it is literally the same portion with more veggies. the tiramisu bingsu.... 100/10! Comes with 3 scoops of ice cream and a whole tiramisu cake slice. Coffee, nutty, creamy goodness!! Overall the desserts stay delicious everytime I'm here; meals could be a hit or miss depending on the kitchen.
Nice quiet spot on weekdays! haven't been on weekends, I hear it is much busier. Spacious and calming background music. Meet a friend and share some dessert or food. Happy hour menu available on their window (from outside). Not sure if they have printed happy hour menus because it wasn't provided on the table when I sat down. Deals are for bingsu+2 drinks combo $25.99 or rice plate+1 drink combo $16.99. I tried the mongolian beef rice plate, it was good and saucy how i like it Black sesame bingsu came nice presented on wood platter with boba balls and condensed milk appreciate the late night hang option, opens till 11pm! we need more of these kinds of places in the city
Dropped by this local eatery on a Sunday evening as our second choice since the first one did not work out. A small eatery with Korean and Chinese food as well as a big selection of desserts plus dim sum too. We ordered the following: Popcorn chicken $9.99 (Best Seller) - A little dry but nice with the sauce and had lots of diced garlic. Beef chow fun $18.99 (Best Seller) - Quite a substantial dish and great for sharing. Fried sesame balls x 6 $6.99- This was in the appetizer section which I thought was savory. It came first and was soft and had a lava sesame center. Since it was sweet, we ate it last but did not taste the same as when it came out just fried. I would suggest having this in the dessert section instead. Overall, a decent and convenient place for simple dishes and desserts. A great local place to meet up with friends.
Bright dessert (they also have dim sum, snack food, and other savory dishes) place on busy West Portal. The restaurant is bright and airy with high ceilings and cute decorations. Opens until 11pm so you can grab a late night dessert. They have Bingsu, 10 different concoctions and also Asian drinks. It was a hot Saturday and we opted to share a Mango Bingsu which comes with large chunks of mango, snowy flaky ice, whipped cream, little mochi cubes on the side, and mango syrup on the side for extra sweetness if desired. One is big enough to be shared by two people. There are other interesting flavors like Tiramisu, Black Sesame and fruity flavors like Strawberry, and Lychee. Decent service.
i've been here a couple times and have always had a positive experience. i love coming here because it's one of the only late-night dessert spots that does not require going into touristy parts of sf. because of that, parking and long lines have never been an issue the bingsu here is good! sweeter than other places imo but the flavors are good. i also actually did not think the food was that bad either (though i didn't have super high expectations for a dessert spot). i can't speak on their dim sum tho because ive never had. but for a late-night, casual hang out with friends, i love this spot for the location + dessert + food options available if you're hungry. only negative i have to say is the lighting in here is super white and harsh, evidenced by most of the photos posted on here lol
There are many great places to get Chinese food in San Francisco. In West Portal there are a few places to grab some Chinese food and dessert. There is one place which offers Asain fusion. You will find many different dishes that are Chinese and many desserts which are Korean and Taiwanese.You find anything dishes such from dim sum to wonton soup to appetizers such as honey chicken wings and popcorn chicken. You will also find their popular ice treat Bingsu which comes in Thai Tea , Mango, and Matcha ( Don Juan de la Matcha favorite).This place is located on West Portal street in San Francisco and it is called Snow Bliss. On the last few weeks left of the Winter Stroll in West Portal of San Francisco during the Spring forward hours of March I landed at Snow Bliss. Inside it is feels like a Boba shop with its decor but it is more like a sit down restaurant. I first tried the hot honey chicken wings and it was delicious. It was not too sweet and the chicken was tender. I then tried the mango sago and the texture more like a tapioca and rice pudding with slices of mango. It was a bit savory but very tasty. Finally I got the Honey walnut shrimps which were okay and a bit sweet and had a crunch and had lots of flavor. Overall a good place to get a plate of Chinese food and a savory or sweet ice treat. Go on Winter stroll in a few weeks before the season it will be "gone" they have honey walnut shrimps and not "prawn" it has Bingsu matcha for " Don Juan" and you can even have some fried" wonton" This place is located the middle of the West Portal street block almost easy to "miss" they have tasty desserts you cannot "resist"it should be on your ice treat "list"in SF at the "Snow Bliss"
We've been super excited to try this spot and finally went few nights ago. Bingsu + heat wave sounds like a great combo and a greater way to cool off! The shop was super packed with customers and they also do to go bingsu orders. Here's my impression on food, services, and vibes Food: out of five. We ordered matcha bingsu with side of fried buns and condense milk. Flavors profile of bingsu is fine and the bingsu is fluffy and light. The fried buns were such a let down though since the dough in the middle was still raw. I wish we got them sooner so we can remedy by asking for a new one. Of note, they do have entrees like beef chow fun there too. The entrees feel more like casual cafe food than serious Chinese restaurant food. The table next to us ordered wonton soup which looks a bit watered down. Services: maybe they're too busy but it was a bit difficult to get the order started. There was a young waiter, Jayden who runs all around the place to take care of customers and handle everything. There's also an older auntie who is the back up but she doesn't seem to quite know which orders go where. We waited at least 20 minutes for the bingsu to come and we waited additional 35 minutes for the fried buns to come. Plus, I noticed that auntie gets overwhelmed and would throw Jayden into the chaos to fix the issues with customers. Maybe they're still too new of a spot to figure out how to streamline things? This will sadly be out of five stars for me Ambiance: It's a casual spot. Cute little space for hangout or casual dates. Wish they turn on ambiance music.
I've been wanting to try this place out cuz my fam loves bingsu. Parking was fairly easy, but possible that we just got lucky. There is street parking, but also a paid parking lot close by. Thankfully, the bingsu did not disappoint and we will be coming back. There is even dim sum and other meal dishes that looked good, so looking forward to trying that too. There are a lot of pictures of what items on the menu look like on the walls and it's great advertising. The interior is small, but you can get a group of 6 if you don't mind huddling together. There was only one server when we came so be patient. The dude is hustling! The lychee bingsu was delicious. It had a lot of actual lychee, a huge dollop of whipped cream and the condensed milk on the side was addicting! Would definitely recommend. We opted for a drink instead of getting another bingsu and let me save you from making our mistake. The taro overload drink was not good. Which deterred me from trying any other drinks.. It tastes just like the tap water with taro powder with a splash of coconut milk.
We visited Snow Bliss after dinner for dessert and had a great time. We ordered the Thai Tea Bingsu, and the ice cream on top was delicious. We also tried the popcorn chicken, walnut prawns, and French fries, all of which were very flavorful. Our server was very friendly, answered all of our questions, and didn't make us feel rushed to leave, which we really appreciated. The interior of the restaurant could use some improvement, but overall we had a good experience.

Came here on a Wednesday night and there were plenty of seats. It's a cute place with lots of light and plushies around. We got a Coffee Bingsu and a Mango Coconut Sago, both of which came out quickly. The Coffee Bingsu was very good, definitely sweet enough on its own without the condensed milk and lots of toppings. Loved the whimsy of serving the sago in a bathtub. The Mango Coconut Sago was very light and refreshing, and the sago was a good texture! Would definitely come back again, especially because they are open late. read more
Staff friendly and attentive and it is spacious with plenty of tables. I may have ordered the wrong things. I got the sp fish and popcorn chicken with jalapeños on the side. The fish was on the thinner side and the popcorn chicken was a bit dry. They have all day dim sum but we didn't order any. Maybe their specialty is their shaved iced desserts. Will have to come back next time and try. read more

We came at around 11pm on a Saturday and the place was pretty packed, but we were seated right away. We decided to share the Thai Tea Bingsu and it was great! The ice texture is amazing and it has the perfect thai tea flavor. I love that it came with a side of boba and condensed milk, it really enhanced the experience. It's huge, so it's perfect to share! The service here was also great! Everyone was super friendly and helpful, despite it being busy late at night. They have a pretty wide variety of food options, so I definitely wanna come back and try them in the future! read more

Came here for dessert and ended up with some popcorn chicken and honey walnut prawns since dinner was lacking. Service was great. Guy was attentive. Inside has lots of seating and surprisingly we were able to catch parking right out front. Everything we got was good. Definitely would come back again. Especially when the Manila mangoes are in season. read more
I recommend the lychee bingsu! The lychee flavor is strong (in a good way) and I like all the toppings in it - real lychee, mochi, and ice cream. The snow was tasty as well - overall I would come back! There was a brief wait (less than 5mins) when I arrived on a Sunday at 8pm. The restaurant is cute and small. The staff were friendly here. It's located in a very convenient location for public transit - the muni station is right in front of it. read more

We came here for dessert after having pizza nearby. I can't speak for the food here but sounds like a great idea to have some savory Asian comfort foods. Service was really attentive. Space was cute. We didn't wait long at all for our tiramisu bingsu $20.99 Honestly the slice of "homemade tiramisu" is what drew me. The presentation looked glorious. We also added mochi and grass jelly, which was an extra $1 for each. The mochi wasn't good so I ended up scooping all of it out. Grass jelly was deliciously refreshing and I wish we had more. They sadly ran out of boba for the day, which I thought was a little unacceptable considering it's only 4pm and this is a dessert place! The tiramisu was disappointingly frozen. I did enjoy the ice cream, which tasted like coffee. I'm glad the condensed milk came on the side, which we didn't use at all because the whole thing was WAAAY too sweet. All in all, it tasted more heavy than refreshing and between the two of us, we couldn't finish it. Total was $26.97 YIKES! dunno that I would be a repeat read more

Coffee snowflake was quite yummy! Coffee Bingsu $16.99 Finely shaved ice infused with premium coffee, sweetened with condensed milk, topped with chocolate syrup, and Biscoff cookies This was my second trip here. Last time I had the strawberry snowflake with fruit loops topping which sounds weird, but actually gave it good texture. Strawberry Bingsu $16.99 Strawberry shaved ice topped with syrup, condensed milk, and fresh strawberry slices The wait times can be a bit slow as I think it must take time to make this masterpiece. They also serve lunch meals like fried rice or noddles. As they said on their website, "Indulge in a Fusion of Korean Bingsu and Authentic Chinese Cuisine." There is always something for everyone to make them happy, if you to eat something light like potstickers or something heavier like chowmein or fried rice they have that too. I haven't tried their savory items as I am always drawn to the desserts! I have been here twice for the Bingsu. Excellent desserts are yummy in my tummy! read more
S/o to the hard working staff at Snow Bliss. I went around 4 pm Saturday and it was surprisingly busy but the staff handled it well! They have an everyday happy hour menu so I am not sure if that contributed to the crowds but all in all, so happy with my experience and snack at Snow Bliss Cafe. My friends and I got the mango bingsu + 2 drink happy hour special $25.99 and we also got 2 appetizers- salt and pepper tofu and popcorn chicken. The food came out hot and fresh. The mango bingsu was really tasty and a large enough potion to share. So happy to have tried Snow Bliss and excited to go back and try other things on the menu in addition to other Bingsu flavors! read more
This was probably our 4th time here. The review was definitely long over due. We tried to come here for their bingsu whenever we were in town because it's one of the few places that offers a huge variation of bingsu. Tonight the place was less crowded, especially because it's been raining a lot but we will be on our way out of SF so we wanted to stop by. Their food was very tasty and with bingsu it just made it extra special. We've tried the strawberry, chocolate tiramisu, and coffee. My daughter was eyeing the watermelon bingsu, we'll have to check it out when we are in town next time in the summer. Payment accepted ApplePay Parking: street and metered. read more

Surprise surprise,, first time here,, finally here,, we ordered Mongolian beef over rice ,,and the sweet-and-sour pork over rice,, omg the crush from the crispy pork chunks, and the sauce little tangy n sweetness,, wow,, my BFF, Mongolian beef plate ,,oooo my God overload of beef slices,,but not spicy at all,, alittle kick would be great,,but the combination of the ingredients that was marinated into the beef was great taste,,lol cuz I took 1 bite ,, this restaurant is great has little of every section in menu,, but of all it has desserts,, woooohoooo !!!!which I didn't get to order any,, my next visit I want to try... Food: flavors are on point, clean; portions are very good, pls don't change the portions pls. Im a senior and can't eat a full meal in one sitting so i like having enough to eat half and take the rest home. We've had the chicken chow mein twice, 5*;the sweet and sour fish twice, 5*; the jajeongmein, 4*; veggie chow fun 3.5*; honeydew fruit tea 4*; strawberry fruit tea 3.5*; jasmine milk tea 4*; mango passion fruit tea 5*. Service: friendly and helpful. They have a nice happy hour deal and explained it to us and others graciously. Ambience: cute clean place with squishmallow pillows which I appreciate for my back. We're glad to have this new restaurant in our neighborhood and will be returning to try more of the menu items read more

I went here for dessert in the evening, specifically for bingsu, and I was pleasantly surprised by the service and the flavors. We ordered the milk buns with custard and the Thai tea bingsu, and they hit the spot! First bite into the buns was absolute bliss! The place was very cozy, and it was good place to chill with friends to catch up and talk. read more
Are you craving boba, snacks, and rice plates? This place is open till 11 pm. Which is perfect for that late night craving. Wilson was very attentive, kind, and helpful. He went out of his way to explain the menu to us, and tell us about their newest menu (DIM SUM). The dim sum was definitely worth the price. Super big portions. Food tasted absolutely amazing. Beverages were delicious as well. Although, the boba wasn't as good. It was chewy and not the best consistency. It wasn't fresh. But that's okay. The service was absolutely amazing. I would definitely come back and recommend to anyone. Thank you Jenna and Wilson for your hard work and attentiveness. P.S. This place has been on my list for a while, and I finally got the chance to try it! We came in around 8 pm on a Saturday and were seated right away. The restaurant is pretty small, so the tables feel a bit close together, but it makes sense, they're definitely making the most of the space. We ordered several dishes: Mongolian beef, wonton noodle soup, honey walnut prawns, shrimp fried rice, and sweet & sour fish. Everything was tasty, but the favorites were the honey walnut prawns and the fish fillet. Portions were generous, though prices felt a bit on the higher side, about $21 for à la carte dishes, which is a little above what we've seen at other nearby Chinese spots. We ended the meal with the strawberry bingsu, and it was the perfect finish. Everyone loved it! Overall, we enjoyed coming here and will definitely be back! read more

the perf spot for late night munchies to share as they close at midnight. lots of seatings inside and they offer both food and desserts but we went for their bingsu. service was very quick and efficient! super helpful and kind. we got the thai tea bingsu but switched the thai tea ice cream with cookies and cream ice cream. it comes with mochi and condensed milk on the side. yummy !! read more
I wouldn't say I venture out to the West Portal too often, but gems like Snow Bliss, definitely make it a compelling reason to! They specialize in bingsu, but their menu is huge, offering everything from popcorn chicken, to rice plates and noodle soups. If you're in the mood for dim sum, they have that too! I ordered the popcorn chicken, wonton noodle soup, and matcha bingsu. The popcorn chicken was notable because it's made Chinese salt and pepper style, which made it really fragrant and savory. Not many places do it this way, but I think they should! Wonton noodle soup was also pretty solid, and the matcha bingsu was refreshing. The chewy mochi made every bite delicious and I would definitely come back here for a full meal, or just for dessert! read more
Delicious desserts. Courteous staff. Cool vibe. This a nice spot for desserts but they also have Chinese food items and dim sum. Now why the low rating? We just ate dinner and came here specifically for dessert. We order a few bingsus and boba. After ordering, we slowly received our bingsus one by one. It was a little hustle and hustle so the e trickle effect made sense. After 45 minutes since ordering and not receiving our boba yet and we were almost all done eating our bingsus, we asked about the boba. Our server said he would go check on it and apologized for the wait. At that point we were like it's been 45 minutes but nonetheless kept our mouth shut since he was very nice. He then comes back and says 'sorry we're out of boba' and that's it. We were all shocked. It took 45 minutes to figure out that you were out of boba and you didn't let us know until we asked about it 45 minutes later. And then no other resolution, just back to work. So that lack of awareness is huge despite the tasty bingsus and the overall great customer care besides this point. We were disappointed that we didn't get boba . And left with a sour taste in our mouth. read more

I used to come here more often when they first opened, before they started to serve hot foods. I took some kids here afterschool for a snack/dessert and we ended up ordering a full on meal. We ordered Chicken Fried Rice and Beef Chow Mein and to our surprise, it tasted quite good! The noodles were a little salty but for something we had low expectations for, we were all impressed how good the food tasted! We also tried their Lychee Bingsoo. The kids loved the French Fries! We had to get two orders of those. read more

This review was for their desserts - thought their bingsu was solid! They have a lot of different flavors, but my friends and I went with the Thai Tea and Mango ones. The mango one was ok (the fruit was fresh and sweet though!), but the Thai Tea one was super delicious - you can never go wrong with that choice. The bingsus we ordered came with mochi bites (I love mochi bites) on the side, but they weren't that tasty or chewy so it was a bit disappointing. I also wish it came with more sauce to add to the overall dessert, but it's ok. The service was great though! We were seated quickly (we came on a Friday night around 10 pm) and our bingsu came out fast too. Would want to come back to try their actual dishes. read more
After dinner, the 3 of us decided to drop by for some bingsu! At around 6:30 pm, the place was about 1/2 full, so we were able to grab a table without waiting. This spot is modern, cozy, and brightly lit. I had forgotten they also had dim sum and entrees as well, because we've only had dessert here. Next time, we may stop to try their savory dishes too. Since we already had dinner, we went with black sesame shaved ice topped with sweetened and condensed milk with almonds and chewy pearls. This was nice, refreshing, and lightly sweetened! My daughter comes here frequently and loves their mango bingsu! But this time, she decided to try black sesame. We really enjoyed the sesame flavor! The ice cream is so light and airy, it almost tricks my mind that it's calorie free! But I'm sure it's not! Haha Nonetheless, we were happy eating it! We'll be sure to stop by again if we're in the neighborhood. read more

A whole tiramisu on top of 3 scoops of ice cream on top of the shaved ice. It was a lot but sooooo good. The ice cream made it extra good The black sesame wasn't as strong but it was good still! Quiet, clean and attentive. read more
