Kanom is a cute, unique dessert spot in Daly City that focuses on Thai desserts. It feels really new - and the staff are really friendly. We tried the coconut pancake (I think( flight with all three toppings: Thai tea, pandan, and taro. The pancakes were good with a subtle coconut flavor that isn't too sweet - and the toppings were all decent. I wouldn't say any of them stood out particularly but you can also get all three to try for yourself :D Overall, it's a solid dessert stop, especially since it's close to a bunch of food spots so it's easy to swing by after lunch :)

I really like this place as it's so clean and they are still expanding their menu. I normally get Thai pancakes with corn, but today we go the ones with pandan. My friend got the matcha drink and they said it had a hint of pandan . As a pandan lover , I highly approve this dish and drink. I loked my Thai coffee and they can make it hot. We got the popcorn chicken today and that wasn't bad. I wish they had the chili powder for it. I hope they have more savory items. It's a great place to come with friends and share all the different dishes.

I don't know if it might have just been an off day, but the service that we experienced was not good. We waited 15 minutes for 2 drinks and just decided to leave without our order. No other customers were in the store. The employee was running in and out of the shop and we could tell that no one was working on our order at all. No updates from staff about the status. I'm sure the food/ drinks are good from what I hear, but it sucks that we didn't get to try it.

Step into this small Thai drink place and they have boba and differrnt Thai teas. They have the unique lesser known green Thai tea, as well as the regular Thai tea. They have a special where if you buy $10 worth of stuff they give you a small lemon tea for free. Coconut bites: served hot and fresh, these were a hit with everyone 5/5 Green Thai tea: 2/5 just didn't like the flavor and too much ice even though I asked for less sweet and less ice. Lemon tea: 3/5 decent but not as good as the Hong Kong lemon tea which has a sweeter note and more lemon flavor Clean, clean, clean space and tables with quick and friendly service.

This Thai dessert shop took over Simple One cafe. Plenty of parking in the front or you can drive over to the back of the plaza for more spaces as well. Service here is friendly and efficient although not a lot of foot traffic on a Saturday afternoon. Potato balls - Chewy but tasty. You'd need to eat these ASAP or they'd get way too hard and chewy. Steamed bread with Pandan dip - The dip wasn't too sweet, which paired well with the steamed bread. Fried bread with Thai tea dip - The dip was lacking in flavor and the bread was too crispy so we actually prefer the steam version. Green MT - It was okay. A little too grainy to my liking.

Kanom is a cute little Thai dessert and drinks shop located in a small Daly City plaza that's a great addition to the area. We stopped by on a weekend afternoon after eating a meal in the plaza for a quick dessert. We opted for the Thai coconut custard bites (6 for $5.95) and enjoyed these a lot! The order was made fresh and we liked the pandan and taro flavor more than the Thai tea custard. The Thai tea custard was the one I thought I'd like the most, but it was a little grainy tasting. Good thing we were able to mix and match the flavors to check them out for our first visit here. Would love to come back to try more of their bites and maybe a drink as well! The food is reasonably priced and the interior was simple and cute with colorful chairs. Easy parking in the front as well, which helps. Service was nice and friendly, too.

Ordered the matcha green tea latte, half original Thai coconut pancake and other half the think Thai tea pancake, fried chicken wings and they gave us a Taro coco w ruby sample to try! They newly opened in august! Very welcoming and friendly workers. Lots of indoor seating and a large restroom with baby changing table. Taro coco ruby - started liek salty cheese creme - taro is soft and sweet - small sago inside Thin pancake with Thai tea custard - thin lightly fried pancake with a custard that's very light soft not too sweet Matcha green tea- strong green tea not as strong matcha Chicken wings - 5 piece crispy juicy so flavorful 10/10

An ad on Yelp about a free dessert sample from this place caught my eye, so I came by to check it out! Turns out this a new Thai dessert/drink spot that replaced a dessert place I used to go to frequently before they closed down. Until August 31, they're giving out free samples of their Thai Coconut Pancakes and Kanom Krok (Crispy Custard Bite with pandan filling). I've never had this dessert before but it was a real treat! I was the only one there at that moment and the store owner made me feel very special by coming up to me to make sure everything was okay multiple times. We talked for a while and she told me that they opened only 10 days ago. So cool that they're giving out samples of a menu item that hasn't been officially released yet to gauge customer opinions on it first. The owner was so kind that I wanted to try another item, so I ordered a Green Tea Latte. They have a decent amount of drink options and I was having a hard time deciding so I asked her some of questions to narrow it down. Don't get me wrong, I'm a matcha girly through and through but after she told me that the Green Tea Latte is specifically Thai Green Tea, I knew I should try it since this is a Thai dessert place. I've never had a drink like it; the flavor is pretty subtle (not as strong as a matcha latte) and has a floral sweetness to it. I do wish they had more milk options for their lattes - I usually like to sub for oat milk. This place is still new, so the interior feels quite bare for now but they have ample seating. Thank you to the friendly owner for the lovely customer service! I hope people try this place out to support a new local business! I'll definitely come back and try some of their dessert sometime. :)

After dinner my friend and I were thinking, where are we gonna go, there's not many dessert options around here? And we just happened to pass by this lil shop and discovered they're new here! We popped in to get some boba, but also ended up getting shaved ice. The shaved ice was great, each combination includes a few toppings such as grass jelly or sweet corn, and it was good-the ultimate Asian compliment of "Not too sweet!" I got a Sweetie Matcha because look how cute! This one was very sweet, but yummy! Matcha flavor was good. My friend got the Milky Taro, which I felt was a perfect richness. They have a few tables with cute colorful chairs, it may be a nice place to have a little coffee date! They have lots of street snacks and other sweets we will have to come back and try. :)

Moo Ping, Thai Tea Latte, Coconut Green Tea
    Kristi I.

We were heading to try King Katsu Land when I caught a glimpse of the moo ping (pork skewer) poster outside this shop. So after we finished dinner, we came back to give it a try. I got the Thai Tea Latte. It was like a creamier/milkier Thai iced tea, but the tea was still fragrant and strong. The moo ping was tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. It's still in soft opening, so some items are coming soon. The owner was super friendly and asked for feedback on our drinks to see if there was anything to adjust. The dining area is not quite finished yet, but it looks like it will be a colorful and cozy place to enjoy Thai sweets and snacks. I'll be back to try the desserts next time!

I absolutely love the menu its very authentic to thai street food, that you can find in thailand. I would say my thai green milk tea was on the milky side. I would hope they make the tea a bit more potent. The pork skewers my partner enjoyed but i thought ut was okay. I was most excited for the potato balls, flavor was there btt it the texture was off. Way too tough not very airy. I would revisit to try other snacks and drinks.

Coming soon, but we got to try some samples

Walked in after nearby lunch as we were curious about the new place - the location used to be one of our favorite boba shops and we were excited to see that another drinks and dessert spot had taken over! They only opened about 9 days ago so they still have some menu items in progress. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and helped customize a drink for my mom. They offered us samples of their upcoming new item, Kanom Krok - so tasty and we will definitely order next time we're back. We ordered a Thai Coffee Latte (one hot and one cold), a Classic Thai Coffee, a Matcha Honey Lemon, Coconut Thai Tea, and the Thai Custard Set with Steamed Bread. Everyone was impressed by the strength of the Thai coffee, the flavor was very nutty, sweet and savory like a burnt caramel. The Coconut Thai Tea was unique, having no dairy or sweetener, which meant the flavor and quality of the Thai tea really shone through and wasn't overwhelmed at all by the coconut water. The Matcha Lemon Honey had a great lemon flavor but a little less of the lemon honey part would've allowed the matcha flavor to be present. We ordered the Thai Custard Set with the pandan custard because it seemed similar to the pandan bread fondue from U Dessert Story but much cheaper. It didn't seem like the bread was made in house but it was still super fluffy and they warmed it up prior to serving. The pandan custard was also warm and on par with the one from U Dessert Story, but slightly more custard-y in flavor. We crave it once in a while and after trying the one here, I think this will be our go-to for it! The space has some tables and chairs but is still about half empty. I'm sure they'll fill it out once they're open longer. Hope they can get some business and looking forward to our next visit!

Kanom Dessert & Cafe is a great spot for dessert. Their pancake is delicious, and the bread dip is a standout. Everything tastes fresh and well made. Highly recommended.

Fast forward we stumbled upon Diamond Head General Store -saw the comment that it is related to Morning Wood! Set our GPS and my girls and I were on our way this past Sunday afternoon. SO GLAD WE FOUND THIS PLACE! In a small nondescript building off El Camino Real in San Bruno. Has an authentic vibe as you walk in to the store..the temperature inside also reflected the warmth. 60s outdoors but felt like upper 70s indoors. You walk into a spread of musubi and onigiris on the right side; on the left - shelves of Hawaiian spices, ingredients, snacks, and other specialty items with a row of fridges along the back wall carrying all kinds of Hawaiian and Japanese drinks and other delights. These visual delights lead you right up to the counter. IMPORTANT TO CHECK YOUR HEALTH AT THE DOOR! Not for the faint of heart or those with medical considerations. The dishes are loaded with flavor and that means a generous helping of salt and fried options. What we ordered and shared family style: CRACK fries: we LOOOOVED the CRACK fries - not only the taste but the fries stay uniquely cripsy even after rit cools a bit. 5/5 Moco Loco with Mochiko Chicken: the gravy was requested on the side - glad I opted for this as it was more saltier than I expected; drizzled a fraction of it on the rice for flavor. Generous helping of rice. The HAWAIIAN FIRE WATER (squeez bottle sitting on the table) paired AMAZINGLY with the Mochiko chicken. I enjoyed this pairing more so than the Moco Loco gravy with the rice and eggs. 4/5 CRUNCHY CHILI GARLIC CHICKEN - tasty but boy oh boy is it filling since it's batter held the oil. Comes with a side of MAC salad. A bit too rich for our bellies but no complaints on the taste. 4/5 MEAT JUN - entree available the day we came but don't see it up on the other Yelpers photos. Beef pan fried with a side of soy based dipping sauce. Comes with a side of MAC salad. 4/5 SHAVED ICE - ooh wee! This was a great end to the meal for my girls. They enjoyed the three flavors of mango, guava, ramune - a ring of sweet kazuki beans and a wooden stick of Mochis at the peak of the frozen ice. 5/5 Salmon/Avocado/Eel/Spam Musubi: 10/10 - rice was nicely seasoned and all the flavors just went together so well. Took it for snack later in the day - so very satisfying! Definitely plan to return for the Kayla pork, and try out some other musubis!

Their expansive menu can feel slightly overwhelming at first glance, but it also means there's something for everyone. It's a fun little treat-yourself-spot to grab refreshments during a day of shopping. It indeed is, "like a reward". I had the chance to try the Dubai Chocolate Cup and the Dubai Chocolate Chewy Cookie. The cup was a 2/5 for me - a bit underwhelming in flavor and execution (especially as someone who thoroughly enjoys the chocolate bar version). However, that chewy cookie on the other hand... take a slooow bite and savor the mochi-like texture. Pleasantly dense, soft, and satisfyingly chewy. The only drawback? You might walk out looking like you just joined Captain Jack Sparrow's crew thanks to the powdered cocoa on your teeth and lips. Overall, I'd rate it a 3.5, but rounding up to a 4.

The drinks were the highlight for me too. The Blue Lagoon was refreshing and fun, and the Guava Lychee Refresher was light, fruity, and honestly the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Tried the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry cup since it looked tempting but I would skip it next time. The food selection was good and they kept refilling items. They had steamed rice, garlic rice, scrambled egg, tocino, longanisa, fried chicken, pinakbet, pork sisig, picadillo, tokwat baboy, arroz caldo to name a few. They fall short on customer service. They don't walk around and take used plates and give you new ones. I almost felt like they didn't give you fresh plates at all. They don't provide you with extra napkins. You literally help yourself with napkins, water, coffee, calamansi juice. My family was annoyed that they didn't even have milk or decent creamer for the coffee. Instead they had powdered creamer. All the food we tried was delicious and fresh. Everyone enjoyed the sisig and the fact that you can customize there level of spiciness. Longanisa and tocino were perfectly cooked and not too sweet I think the buffet is like $19 or $21 a head. With the service fee and tax it ended up being $27-$28. It wasn't bad to try but I feel it was a little steep for a self service buffet. Good to try at least once but the fact that everything was self service and staff at all levels were rude. It just makes the experience unenjoyable.
