Brief Summary: - Ordering is done via the kiosk machine - A couple of seats inside -- but this mall has a lot of places to sit - Teas were just right sweetness Can't say too much about the tang hulu because this is my first time trying it. However, it was positively different from my expectations. The sugary coating is crunchier than I thought, so it gave a great additional crisp, crunch noise and texture on the fruits. Since most of the fruits on the skewer were soft, this was an enjoyable chew. Also, the sugar doubled as a glue to stick the fruits together, so the other fruits didn't move around or loosen up as I ate them. I thought the cup that came with the fruit skewer was really helpful in making sure the fruits didn't fall off. I also ordered tea here: the royal milk tea with boba, opted for oat milk instead of regular milk this round. The tea was blended well with the milk and overall not so sweet. The sugar level was just right for the moment because I was looking for less sweet. The boba pearls here had a good chew. Happily it didn't have a hard center either. I guess a signing note was we visited here early in the morning, so the kiosk machines were not fully ready yet. Most of the orders displayed as sold out. I told the staff about this and they quickly updated it within a second.
This review is only for the drinks. I tried the Taro Crème Brûlée and the regular Crème Brûlée drinks here. While the flavors were decent, the sweetness level was way too high--even though I specifically ordered them less sweet. It was still overwhelmingly sugary. The biggest disappointment, though, was the boba. It was way too tough and chewy, making the drinks pretty unpleasant to drink. Overall, the drinks were just okay, but I wouldn't order from here again. When I ask for less sweet, I expect it to actually be less sweet. And the boba? Just bad. Honestly, I wish I could get a refund.
Honestly confused on the negative reviews on this place! Initially came to the mall to go to Sidewalk for a smoothie but they stopped making smoothies and juices at 8:30pm. This was a BUMMER but I'm happy that I checked out Devil Angel Desserts! They had such a huge menu, from shave ice, smoothies, to tanhulu! I ordered the Mango Coconut Smoothie, it usually comes with boba but I opted out of it today. Total was $6.50 and I can definitely say it was a solid drink, perfect amount of sweetness and could possibly be a Erwon smoothie dupe because the coconut cream is bomb. Must try out more of the menu to see if this place is a 5/5!
We ordered the Ube milk tea, Dubai chocolate and the strawberry milk tea. I liked the Ube drink but didn't know it had coconut so that threw me off a little, but it was still mostly good. But I wouldn't have ordered it if I would have known it had coconut. It was my first time trying Dubai Chocolate and I thought it was delicious. My mom enjoyed her strawberry milk tea drink with boba. We did have to wait in line before I could order from the kiosk, but we got our drinks pretty quickly still. The only thing I don't like about this place is the name
My husband ordered this drink and ended up with a stomach ache. We're not sure what ingredients were in it--possibly the milk was bad
Got the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup and it was just okay. First time trying dubai chocolate so I have nothing to compare it to, but it mainly tasted like melted nutella on strawberries - very weak pistachio taste if any. The kataifi on top adds a nice crunch. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I expected this to be a bit better, especially since the total came out to around $18 for just one cup ... Presentation is pretty though.
People need to stop complaining about Devil Angel Desserts. I'm glad I didn't listen to these Yelpers because their AFFOGATO WITH UBE SOFT SERVE AND COFFEE JELLY for $6.75 was the highlight of my day! That soft serve ube ice cream is everything!! Contrasting with the bitterness of the espresso and there was a little salted caramel on the bottom with the coffee jelly on top -- wow, it's the best dessert I've had in a long time! We also tried: M7 Vietnamese coffee boba $5.95 -with coffee jelly -ordered less sweet but it was still quite sweet so I don't know if this was a mistake or they just make all of their drinks overly sweet -this is definitely not your standard ice coffee because it's very creamy but it still has a good amount of coffee flavor R6 Love Potion $6.50 -lemonade, strawberry, guava, lemon juice, lychee jelly -also ordered less sweet and it came out pretty sweet -a little too tangy for me but kiddo enjoyed her drink Ordering is by kiosk and then you wait for your order to be called. Wait is maybe 5 minutes tops. There's really no comfortable place to enjoy your order, if you want to stick around. There's a counter nearby if you're lucky. I've noticed less seating around Serramonte these days and I'm not sure if it's because they don't want people loitering but c'mon, shoppers need a place to rest. Judge Devil Angel Desserts for yourself and get the affogato!
I randomly stumbled upon this place when I was strolling around the mall on a Sunday afternoon recently. I've been looking for a place near me that sold tanghulu for awhile now and realized this place sells them! Tanghulu are fruits that are coated with a melted sugar coating and hardened to give it a hard candy texture. I knew I had to try it! We got the Mixed Fruit Tanghulu and the mixed fruits that day was grapes and strawberry. I loved how fun and crunchy this dessert is, but it ended up getting too sweet for me after eating 3 fruits on the stick. I'd recommend this place! They sell a variety of drinks and dessert items. It's super cute inside the store with the neon signs too!
Rare to find a place with tanghulu, instant 5 star The grapes were smaller than I expected But strawberries were perfect Extra Self order machine No one at the counter Edit: on second thought, I dont find a craving to come back. Idk what it is, this is more like a 4 star for me
Came here on a boba run for my office. Everyone loved their drink. Only giving it a 4 stars because you have to use the kiosk to order and one of my coworkers didn't like someone else's drink. We might have gotten lucky and everyone chose a drink they like. 4 drinks was $29 Might grab one of their fruit topped croffles next time I come
For being in a mall, this place was very clean. The boba barista was organized and had things set aside so she can easily attend to multiple orders. We ordered the Taro Smoothie, Vietnamese Coffee Smoothie, and Thai Milk Tea. All with boba and it was good. The coffee smoothie was STRONG! You definitely can't miss the fact that it's coffee. The taro smoothie was delicious! The Thai tea was pretty basic. Tasted just like all the rest.
I only like the ice cream here. Specifically the coffee with the soft serve. That seems to be my thing. None of the drinks would appeal to me. My coworker tried their drinks and said it was overly sweet meant for High Schoolers. That was literally what he said. This place is always empty when we pass by. Maybe because of their high prices?
A unique dessert spot in the updated target wing of Serramonte, but nothing about the drinks that makes it stand out in the mall. First time visit - all ordered was on kiosk, which generated longer than necessary lines compared to Happy lemon or Quickly in the mall. I got a black sugar milk tea with boba just to see how it compares to Yo Fang. Regrettably, the milk overpowered the tea and it was just an overly sweet drink. The boba was not bad, but didn't have a notable flavor (lacking honey or brown sugar). Prices were average and complemented the drink. The ambiance inside is very pretty and there are other drinks that would make me consider coming back. The staff did the best they can and we're fairly friendly when calling out orders. However, this isn't a place id go to the mall specifically for the drink, compared to Happy Lemon.

There have been so many developments at Serramonte over the past few years, and Devil & Angel is one of the more recent additions to the mix. Their expansive menu can feel slightly overwhelming at first glance, but it also means there's something for everyone. It's a fun little treat-yourself-spot to grab refreshments during a day of shopping. It indeed is, "like a reward". I had the chance to try the Dubai Chocolate Cup and the Dubai Chocolate Chewy Cookie. The cup was a 2/5 for me - a bit underwhelming in flavor and execution (especially as someone who thoroughly enjoys the chocolate bar version). However, that chewy cookie on the other hand... take a slooow bite and savor the mochi-like texture. Pleasantly dense, soft, and satisfyingly chewy. The only drawback? You might walk out looking like you just joined Captain Jack Sparrow's crew thanks to the powdered cocoa on your teeth and lips. Overall, I'd rate it a 3.5, but rounding up to a 4. read more
Bro!! I literally wanted to kick myself in the behind for coming all this way [to Daly City] in order to get my daughter some tanghulu. I've been searching far and wide for an establishment who sells these traditional sugar coated fruit skewers and the only thing that kept coming up was Devil & Angel. On any normal given situation, I would have been ecstatic since we have a Devil & Angel located near home- but that would just make my life waaay too easy and the universe just couldn't have it go down like that. LMAO!! Long story short, I had a bad experience with the Devil & Angel near home and literally boycotted this business as an ENTIRE whole. Yes, I was 100% being overly dramatic but they just rubbed me the wrong way. Now, my sister had previously visited this particular Devil & Angel [located in Serramonte Mall/Center] and immediately told me to take my toddler here! I didn't ask for too many details beyond her explaining the little shop was located near Target. I didn't get a name for the business and simply came here blindly. Yes, I was disappointed because I'm super hard headed and was firm about my boycott but since we made the drive out here & my toddler had already spotted the large advertising signage.... I couldn't say no. Ordering is all done via the kiosk per staff's orders. This process was super easy, very straightforward. The tanghulu options available were: strawberry+pineapple, strawberry+grape, & only grape. My toddler went with the strawberry, grape combo. Once payment was made, the staff behind the counter immediately handed off the fruit skewer. The fruit stick was neatly placed in a mini cup to assist in transporting and eating. For $7.64 a stick [post taxes], this won't break the bank but this is undeniably super profitable for the business. The sugar coating isn't overly thick but was still sickenly sweet IMO. Keep in mind, strawberries are current not in season so they aren't at its sweetest potential and I still couldn't manage more than my first bite. No complaints on my kid's part because she ate this thaaaang up! 3 stars in my book but I added one more star specifically for my toddler. She had the most amazing time munching away on this and I'm thankful to fulfill her deep longing for these kebobs. read more
Easy quick stop since it's at Serramonte Mall. Tons of dessert choices so it gets overwhelming. Devil & Angel Desserts a good place to go for a sweet treat and it's a fun experience overall. Not everything on the menu is a must-order, but a few items really stood out. I loved the tanghulu--fresh fruit with that perfectly crunchy sugar shell, super satisfying and not overly sweet. The drinks were the highlight for me too. The Blue Lagoon was refreshing and fun, and the Guava Lychee Refresher was light, fruity, and honestly the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Tried the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry cup since it looked tempting but I would skip it next time. It definitely feels like more of a novelty dessert spot, and I can see how some items might be hit or miss depending on what you order, but if you stick to the tanghulu and drinks, it's worth the stop. I'd keep coming back for those alone. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. The line was about a 5 minute wait and it went pretty quickly. We got the blue mango smoothie with boba and it was one of the best drinks I've ever had. It tasted like a smoothie/slushie with blue curaçao drizzled in and was really sweet which I like. The boba was perfectly chewy as well. I would definitely come back as this was one of the best boba drinks I've had in a while! read more
We took a gamble and tried out this new place. However, the gamble didn't pay off. Despite the fact we adjusted the sweetness level, both drinks are super sweet. They taste basic and not worth to go here for boba. Service provided very fast. Less than 5 mins to make the drinks. The place is cute, and the location is great. I wouldn't come back here again if you are looking for good boba place. read more

I returned on a Thursday evening around 7. No line and tanghulu in stock! I understand their process now: it seems that they make a bunch and store them in a glass display! I really appreciated that they had sticks of strawberry or grapes and some mixed. The shell is nice and thin but not delicate. I enjoyed the crunch and they picked really great tasting, unexpectedly juicy strawberries. I will return!! Very nice employees. Thank you!! read more

Terrible Vietnamese Coffee Boba. Tasted like medicine. Also the workers shouldn't be in customer service. Won't girl was literally seating on the floor behind the counter while we ordered on the screen. The other guy doesn't greet you or offer any help. Would've been so much easier for him to just take our order since I was literally the only customer in there and the just stood there and said nothing. The screen asks -your order -Preferences (boba/ sweeteness/ ice) -name -phone number All this could have been done by an actually person but doesn't prevent the drink from actually sucking. read more

New boba and dessert spot at Serramonte!! There were 2 kiosks for you to order from and I got my drink pretty quickly. I got the mango peach tea with mango jelly. The drink was refreshing and not too sweet. I can taste the lemonade in the drink but not too much of the peach flavoring. The mango jelly added a nice touch to the drink. You can't adjust the sweetness so if you don't like your drinks that sweet, this place may not be for you. The interior was cute with 2 walls for you to take photos with. Overall, there's a good variety of drinks and toppings to choose from. read more

Got the matcha strawberry smoothie and it was a but too sweet for my taste. The base seems to be vanilla and it's the main flavor of the drink which is disappointing because you can barely taste the strawberry or matcha. There wasn't a sweetness adjustment for this drink either but maybe there is for their others? If you like your drinks sweet definitely give this a try but me personally, I'd probably go for a fruit tea next time. read more

stumbled upon tanghulu while at the mall! i haven't heard great things about the drinks but was excited to try the tanghulu. it is exactly what you would assume it would taste like, sugar + fruits. the layer of sugar is thin so it doesn't hurt to bite into. it's $6.75 per tanghulu stick and they offer mixed fruits, grape, or strawberry. i probably wouldn't get it again here as there are other spots that offer it for less than that. read more

Devil and Angel Desserts Review I recently visited Devil and Angel Desserts and was extremely disappointed with the quality of their offerings. I ordered a matcha milk tea with less sweet and no ice, but it turned out way too sweet. If this is their "less sweet" option, I can't imagine how unbearably sugary their extra sweet option would be. The soft serve affogato was another major letdown--it was disgustingly sweet and completely overpowered any potential flavor balance. The Tanghulu, which I was excited to try, was also way too sweet to enjoy. Overall, the place seems to prioritize sugar over quality ingredients. I won't be returning and can't recommend it to anyone looking for a well-balanced dessert experience. read more
This place looked cool. We ordered the angel pop which had lychee, strawberry and lemonade. The drink colors are so colorful. There are so many things to choose from ice cream soft serve, creme brulee boba drinks with Ube. I will definitely return soon! read more
Taiyaki and ice cream is exciting! I really like ice cream that's creamy (rather than icy), portions a bit more substantial, and waffles that carry that vanilla or buttery taste whilst having that lingering waffle smell (and warm). Devil Angel Desserts doesn't quite deliver imo. The ordering from the kiosk promotes lack of service / greetings / calling for attention to ask questions. It's also ot appetizing to touch a a large screen everyone has touched and then work on catching the waffle from falling out of the cup - then feeding yourself. The menu isn't very extensive. Typically I do think of small menus to have selected just the best variety of flavors. This was more of a novelty for me and I can say I've tried it. There is a cute neon sign to take photos but other than that no seating areas inside. read more

New place so we decided to give it a try. I got lucky as the line was not long. They need more kiosks which I can see a long line happening on the weekends . Moving on...their boba drinks are just ok. I haven't tried their fish taiyaki and their soft serve but I did try their Croffle. I just got their plain Croffle with powder sugar which was actually pretty good. Their tea needs to have stronger tea flavor but overall I will definitely come back. read more
