Jujube Purple Rice Yogurt
Bellina C.

My go-to drink is the Jujube Purple Rice Yogurt-it's a refreshing blended drink with the perfect amount of chewy texture from the purple rice. I'm a big fan of purple rice drinks in general, and Yomie's always hits the spot! The service here is hit or miss. The ordering screen doesn't always work, and the person taking my order did not seem too thrilled that I had to order through them instead of using the ordering screen. There was also one time where I came in around late afternoon on a Sunday, and was told that they were sold out of purple rice yogurt drinks for the day. That was a bummer but it's good to know that they have limited quantities sometimes. The price is a bit steep ($8.09 including tax) for the standard size, but I would say it's worth it for a unique drink.

Durian Yogurt

I paid $8.45 (before tax) for a durian yogurt, and it was extremely disappointing. There was barely any durian flavor, and even the yogurt itself tasted very bland, almost like it had been watered down. Toward the end it was mostly icy bits with just a faint sour-sweet taste. I've come here occasionally before and it was fine, but this time it was honestly unacceptable for the price. Charging nearly nine dollars for something that barely tastes like durian or yogurt is pretty frustrating. Really hope they improve the quality, because this experience makes it hard to come back.

Came here on Sunday and honestly very disappointed with the overall experience. 1. Ordering: the screen was completely not working and when we tried to tell the person, the guy mentioned that the lady will take the order for us. However, the said lady went out and double check to make sure the screen is not working (as if it's something we would lie about...) and tried it more than once. After she finally got convinced the screen truly is not working, she went back in and helped us order. 2. Menu options: Yes, it was Sunday afternoon, yes it was Easter Sunday, but literally almost every single thing that we asked is either out of stock or not in season. We tried to order the following: - Red bean purple rice: no purple rice - ube purple rice: no purple rice & apparently no ube pieces also - mango pomelo sago yogurt: no because it's seasonal - red heart dragon fruit yogurt: no because it's seasonal At this point we were already hopeless and disappointed, so we ended up with durian yogurt and mango peach yogurt. 3. Payment: after ordering, I tapped my card and the receipt came out. However, after getting the drink and drinking it half way, the lady told us that we have not paid for our drinks, which made us very confused because we thought we did. That said, it turns out that the system just automatically print a receipt when she punched in the order regardless of your payment (bad system), and again she require me to enter tip and sign for the payment in the bad screen that was malfunctioning earlier. Even after I told her it's not working, she again checked it and acted like I didn't know what I was doing..? so she went out of her station again and did it herself. After realizing that its truly the screen that's acting out, she finally restarted the screen and it finally works. Was very irritating. 4. The drink: my friend had requested for 30% sweetness and I ordered 50% sweetness, but I think she gave me 30% sweetness anyway. It tasted so bland and the durian tastes is barely there. it's literally just slushed-mildly sweeten ice. 5. Parking & seating: parking was easy to find and seat was pretty empty. I believe we were the only one present at the store.

Interesting mix of boba with yogurt. The salty egg with purple rice is definitely unique and a mix of umami and sweet. The pineapple banana yogurt was like a smoothie. The mango yogurt was slushy on the bottom and yogurt on the top. Nice ordering kiosks. No bathroom sign.

Strawberry Yogurt

A nice somewhat healthier alternative to boba. We often get this after some exercise and the sweet coldness of the drinks are great! Though they have a lot of menu items, I think only a couple (the purple rice yogurt and the strawberry one) are really worth. A lot of the others just taste a little weird, or don't go too well with the slight sourness of the yogurt

I was a little skeptical of rice inside my drink but I think I've come around to it. I got the Yomie's Purple Rice Yogurt at 25% sweet and I think it had a good yogurt funk to it as well as the tender but not overly soft purple rice that lent an earthy flavor to the drink. Parking can be a bit rough in the area, its a bit small, and the trash overflowing a bit took away from the experience.

Store hours

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent group order experience from Yomie's Rice X Yogurt (Millbrae, CA). I placed 13 drinks through Yelp (fulfilled by Grubhub) two days in advance, with a scheduled pickup time of 12:05 PM. My colleagues arrived at the store around 12:00 PM, but the store was completely closed. After waiting about 15 minutes, a staff member finally showed up. When we showed him our order receipt, he checked his computer and said the store never received our order and told us to contact Grubhub instead. This is unacceptable. The employee was unhelpful, dismissive, and not honest even when we presented proof of our confirmed order. Our entire group was left waiting with no drinks and no assistance. We will never order from this store again, and I hope Grubhub/Yelp reviews their partnership with such an unreliable location.

I've been coming here on and off when I'm in the area. They usually have parking right in front. When I'm here, I usually get the salty egg yogurt though I occasionally get a fruit yogurt. Its always yummy and although it's a bit small for the price, it's filling since it's yogurt. The inside is clean and it looks like they recently upgraded the seating. Definitely give it a try!

I ordered the Haw Purple Rice Yogurt today. There are TONS OF SHARP HAW PITS BELENDED IN with the purple rice in every single sips. It is too dangerous with choking hazard to drink so I dare not finish it and have to throw it away!!!! Yomie's Yogurt & Boba, you will kill people with this!!!! You need to stop making any drink with your HAW!!!!!

Mango Pomelo Sago yogurt "Yanghzi manna yoghurt"

Heard good things about the Yomie in Oahu so I was excited to try the Millbrae location. I wasn't sure what to expect but the purple yogurt rice drink tastes exactly how it sounds - plain yogurt and plain rice. If you like those flavors and textures you would enjoy it but it personally wasn't for me. We also got the Mango Pomelo Sago (called "Yanghzi manna yoghurt" on the self-serve tablet) which was more blended and icy, but still creamy and yummy. But after a while, the coldness of the drink froze the sago which affected the texture. This review is mostly for the girl working on January 16th at 12pm. We had trouble finding the mango pomelo sago on the self-serve tablet, so I asked her where I could find it on the menu. She swung the tablet around and started clicking around for it, then swung it back without saying a word. It wasn't labeled as Mango Pomelo Sago and she didn't say anything so I confirmed with her if that was the one. She just nodded her head yes so I said okay and paid for the drink. I just assumed she had lost her voice or couldn't speak but when the drinks were ready she called our order number perfectly fine??? When I was a bobarista even on my worst days I would still respond to customers... There's too many options out there to justify returning for the small overpriced drinks and strange customer service

I went there twice. Ordered their purple rice yogurt. I think it's fresh and very healthy. And it's really full my stomach.

That was an unfortunate discovery. But this bustling area seemed to have a few tea shops at our disposal and seeing that TP Tea was the busiest, I thought to try them. Natural sunlight filled this spacious tea shop as the sun was setting! Though for some reason, they have a fly problem in the center where at least a half dozen flies were circulating. That was a bit of a turn off! But I continued to order through their kiosk anyhow as I was taking this drink to go. The menu is pretty big, so as a first timer, it took a few minutes to figure out what I wanted. I ended up ordering a TREASURE TARO MILK TEA (With taro and pudding). I believe the base for this drink was a Tie Guan Yin tea. It was strong, yet the sweet taro helped mellow the tea's bitterness. I had this drink at zero extra sugar, but I think it could have used just a little more sweetness (10%). I mixed the drink up so the taro would sweeten the tea more, which helped. Service was speedy and I got my drink quickly even with many other customers in the shop. All around, it was a 4/5 experience.

They have a kiosk in which you can order or you can do so at the counter. I got the mango matcha latte w/30% sweetness and lychee jelly. The drink was good but it was lowkey a lil too sweet for 30% in my opinion. But other than that, the drink was enjoyable. Try it out if you like. :)
