    Persimmon Crystal Boba

I've been coming here since they opened a few years ago, and I noticed recently that their business isn't as busy as it used to be, which is a bummer since it's so convenient to dine here and have 2 different restaurant options, and a separate shop in the same location for bubble tea. Grapeholic specializes in Grape Drinks, and our favorites are the Grape & Lemon, and the Grape Tea Jelly. We also love that they have seasonal drinks based on seasonal fruits, for example, they currently have a blended Persimmon Green Tea because it's the season for persimmons. For drinks only, I like ordering online, and pickup is easy since they usually have it ready by the time I arrive. Staff is also friendly when I have any questions, or if I want to sub out any toppings that are default from the drink.

Don't be confused when you come here and it says Social Eatery. It's a place to hangout and order not just Grapeholic drinks but also Rice Monster and Noodleosophy as well. As soon as you walk in, you will see on the side a tablet at the counter to take out anything from their menus. They have booths you can sit at and order from their QR code menu as well. But if youre ordering take out, it's fine to sit there and play games while you wait. I asked the server! The ambiance is a 5/5. Drinks were 4/5. The creme caramel drink I ordered was surprisingly strong in tea and not milky, but the boba was a bit harder than I would like. The creme brulee layer on top was perfect though. The mango pomelo sago drink I also ordered was very fresh and fruity and not so creamy. Everything was perfect in it. I will definitely try more of their fruity drinks again. Great place for those!

Grapeholic is truly hidden gem located in Millbrae's Social Eatery food hall. Grapeholic, as it's name suggests, offers grape-focused tea drinks. As part of Social Eatery, patrons can take a seat within the food hall, place their orders on the provided tablet, and a staff member will bring the food an beverages straight to your table. Looking for something to go with our meal, we decided to try the (1) cotton candy grape slush, and the (2) grape and lemon tea. The cotton candy grape slush was amazing - true to it's name it captured the cotton candy grape flavor in a delicious slush form that was both sweet and refreshing. The grape and lemon tea was also good; however, the lemon flavor was a bit overpowering and made it difficult to truly enjoy the grape that was in the drink. If you want grape to be the star of the show, then I'd recommend getting one of their grape-centered drinks instead. Whenever I think of grape, my mind instantly goes to those sickly sweet yet bitter cold syrups of my childhood and the inner child in me still shivers at the thought of drinking those down. With that in mind, grape is not usually a flavor that I find myself partial to; however, Grapeholic might just make me change my mind. Their grape drinks were impeccable flavor-wise - imagine biting into a sweet bunch of grapes, and Grapeholic has essentially captured that taste and feeling into a drink! If you're ever in the Millbrae area and want a one-stop shop for all your dining and beverage needs, then Social Eatery is definitely the place to go and be sure to enjoy Grapeholic while you're at it!

I can't believe it took me this long to write a review for Grapeholic! The first time I tried Grapeholic was during their soft opening back in April of 2022. Back then, the other spots in Social Eatery (Noodleosophy and Rice Monster) were not yet opened. This place has since gained so much popularity (rightfully so!) and I am sooooo happy to see their success! I remember when they first started, there were always spots available in the parking lot but nowadays, it's always full! The interior has a very cozy vibe, often full of groups of families and friends chatting away over a meal. When they first opened, their Pure Grape drink was their standout item and not many boba places offered anything similar. Since then, a lot of boba spots have come out with something similar but I still think Grapeholic's Pure Grape is the best! It is the perfect refreshing drink during the summer. I've also tried the Mango Pomelo Sago, Lady Pink Guava, Grape & Lemon, Cotton Candy Grape Slush, and Mochi & Boba. Needless to say, I'm a very loyal fan of Grapeholic and one of my favorite things to do is sit down with friends at one of their dine-in tables, order the Pure Grape drink from Grapeholic, and also the beef noodle soup with biang biang noodles from Noodleosophy. It is the perfect meal in my opinion.

Cotton candy grape slush - 5/5, deliciously grapey. I added tea jelly bc I personally like to chew something, and tea jellies are good. The cheese foam on top is great with the drink. Grape slush - 5/5, yum! Seasonal persimmon slush - looks and sounds amazing but couldn't try. If It's still on the menu next time, I would try.

I've had so many grape slushies at other restaurants, boba shops, etc. even made it at home, but Grapeholic does it right and no one else can hold a candle to it. I crave specifically Grapeholic's grape slushies, not grape slushies in general. It's not icy, its sweetness is adjustable, it has real grape chunks!

Duplicate review, see Social Eatery 3 businesses in one with one owner. Grapeholic, Noodle Osophy, Rice Monster. Going to an event tonight but got here an hour early. So we came to this place to hang out and relax before the event. Quality/Quantity - Coconut Mango Latte - My coffee. This was good, but way too fancy for me. Oh, my daughter wrote in the comments section on the kiosk when ordering to add boba and they did!! The manager mentioned to her that this is not a normal/standard thing, but they still honored it. And he did not even charge us, thank you. Grape & Tea Jelly - Added boba for 65¢ more. My daughter liked her drink. Taro & Milk - Our guest enjoyed her drink. Crispy Chicken Nuggets - It was temperature hot as it came fresh out of the fryer. Free fruit, see pictures. We did not take it. Catering and pop-up events are also available, see website. Atmosphere - Cool, young, and hip vibe atmosphere; I fit right in, lol. Cool decor from the exterior to the interior, see pictures. Indoor or outdoor seating. Complimentary games available, my daughter chose two to play (not at the same time). Small parking lot, but not an issue for us. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 8pm or 8:30pm. Service - This is how a business should be run! The manager greeted us as we entered and asked if we would dine-in or take-out. We shared that we just wanted drinks, so he directed us to the self service kiosk. Then my daughter and I ordered. Our guest, after seeing our drinks, wanted one also. But she struggled with the kiosk, and the manager saw this and came out to help her. What great service! My daughter then saw that if we posted on social media, we would get a complimentary crispy chicken nugget (or butterfly shrimp). Well, I was already posting my pictures on Yelp and the manager honored it. Again, great service. Complimentary self-service water. Loyalty program available, see picture or website. Price - $22 for 3 drinks. Not expensive in my book for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since April of 2022! Noodle Osophy has 3 locations.

My new favorite fruit tea drink spot on the peninsula! If you lust for the flavor of juicy, plump, voluptuous grapes then this is the spot for you. You actually order at the front of a busy noodle food hall. We ordered the Cotton Candy Grape Slush (with no cheese foam), which contains green tea. The first sip blasted me with a fantastical sensation of sugary grape pleasure! I felt like I was stuffing my face in a bundle of bulbous grapes plucked right off the vine. The texture is perfectly smooth through blending the ice crystals small and fine, and intimately intertwined with small bits of real cotton candy grapes! The pure flavor of the grapes burst with vibrant tart fruitiness, but they just taste like regular green grapes without any of that delicious carnival artificial cotton candy taste that you'd expect. Still irresistibly delicious and refreshing, though. The green tea flavor prominently shines through the grapey profile. We got less sugar so it also was not too sweet. Each time we also requested no cheese foam, and they've followed the modification, so that's great. Overall, would definitely recommend giving this place a try -- it is grape heaven!

Grapeholic is in this small food court (Japanese inspired tea garden themed) with other Asian eateries: noodlosophy and rice monster. I like the vibe going on in there. You can eat dinner or study, or even have a fun board game night with some friends. They provide games! You can do takeout for grapeholic by ordering on a big tablet near the entrance or sit at a table and order from their iPad. Anyway grapeholic drinks caught my eye because I never see grape as the special flavor of most specialty drink places. I got the cotton candy grape slush, recommended sweet and with additional cheese foam. After giving it a good mix with the cheese foam I was enjoying my drink a lot! It initially started sweet but the cheese foam balanced it out. 4.5/5 My friends got the grape and lemon, pure grape, and strawberry and lemon. All of them said it was "mid."

This shop is so grape, it makes me (a grape drink disliker) a grapeholic! After hefty convincing, I finally decided to check this place out (the things we do for love). I ordered a Cotton Candy Grape Slush and Pure Grape, and oh my god were my taste buds altered. I will never doubt the power of grape drinks again. The cotton candy grape slush was so good, I literally couldn't stop sipping on it throughout my drive home. The sweetness and tea taste were in harmony; they complimented each other perfectly. It's very hard to artifical-ize the cotton candy grape flavor, and this shop makes me assume they use all natural ingredients. The same can be said for the pure grape. They even have real grapes, peeled, on the bottom. The ice to drink ratio was perfect, the cheese foam on top was yummy, and even when melted, was still delicious. As a (now ex) grape hater, this place altered my brain chemistry on how good a grape drink can be. Only downside that it's in the heart of the peninsula, so it's a little hard to access if you're not from the area. However, I will be raring to make another trip across the pond for this!

Nobody embarrasses me more than me in 2009 writing FaceBook statuses. GRAPEful for the adult me where I only write food reviews on Yelp. Located in Social Eatery. .:: Drinks ::. Pure Grape $6.75: Fresh grape and Michelia green tea smoothie. Comes with crystal boba, fresh grape bits and salted cream cheese. I replaced the crystal boba with aloe vera. One of their more popular drinks but I found it lacking in taste. Could barely taste the grape flavor. Wish it was more sweet. .:: Service / Ambiance / Parking ::. Terrible Service. Pretty much self service on everything. You order on your phone through QR code. Wait was super long and unorganized. Located inside Social Eatery, but there's no waitlist, no way to put your name down. You literally just wait at the door in line (very narrow if I may add), until a table opens up. They need to at least let you write your name down. My friend wanted to ask if we could add something on our order and the waiter was so rudely annoyed. He did a big sigh, rolled his eyes and was like no your order is in you cannot add anything. It was SO hard to flag ANYONE down, we just went up and grabbed things ourselves: napkins, to go box, etc. All the waiters literally did was bring food out and thats it. The place has a cute little exterior outside, when I went it was during Halloween week, it was decked out in Halloween decors. The inside had logs / wooden vibes as table. There were ones in high chairs, ones with benches, ones with low tables/ chairs. Parking was scary. The parking lot is SO narrow and small. I feel like its asking for an accident to happen. I would recommend parking on the street, its much more space and safer.

Located inside an indoor area (used to be a Japanese restaurant) with a few restaurants inside. Love that they have a parking lot! You order on a screen right when you get in and find a seat. Tons of seating and very cute on the inside with Asian-inspired decorations. I ordered the black sesame boba milk and it was delicious! It came out pretty quickly. I subbed for oat milk - was not too sweet, heavy sesame flavor, and boba was soft and sweet. Overall, I paid $8 which is pretty pricey which is why I'm subtracting a star. Would go again!

Is your tea dairy free? Thanks

Hi Cynthia, All of our milk tea use fresh milk. However, if you order from our special tea category, it won't contain any milk. Thanks for your concern. Have a wonderful day!

Is there actually alcoholic beer in the grapeholic and strawberry and beer drinks?

They use non-alcoholic beer (forget if it's O'Douls or St. Pauli's). The beer works in the Grapeholic, less so in the other flavored drinks.

There was no line at all, so my drink came out really quickly. Service was efficient, and basically non existent since you order on your phone, and pick it up from the counter. They have some seats indoors and a few benches outside, it's pretty spare and basic inside which is all you really need in a cafe. I saw a lot of people getting takeout, and some small groups around tables chatting. I was debating between the matcha and houjicha, then got intrigued by the black sesame, and finally after much internal debate, decided that black sesame + houjicha would work best together and wanted the einspanner. They honestly have so many intriguing options like Earl grey matcha einspanner??? Banana pudding?? I have to come back. My only complaint is the price but I guess everything is expensive these days. $8/9 for one of these drinks hurt my heart though. On the flavors: while I wish there was more black sesame (I always do), this was one of the most satisfyingly black sesame items I've had from a cafe. It went really well with the toasty roasty notes from the houjicha and I think they added enough of both amidst the milk to make it a very satisfying drink. This can be rare because a lot of places drown out all the flavors with too much milk. The best part though, was the einspanner - the sweetened whipped cream on top really brought the whole drink together and was so delicious. It made it just that little bit more decadent. I got it at minimal sweetness and at first though it wasn't enough, but I was glad I did as I worked my way through the cup, it was perfect.

The commitment to the elegance of French culture and modern creativity were evident in every luxurious pastry and cake on display. Maison Alyzée is an order-at-the-counter establishment, so we made our purchase with a friendly staff member at the register. Unfortunately, we were told that espresso drinks were no longer available that night since the staff had already begun cleaning the machines. Ok....I never understand businesses that start shutting down things before closing time. This just shows customers that team convenience of closing shop quickly takes precedence over customer experience, essentially omitting availability of items from the menu while they are still open.
