This is such a wonderful atmosphere, casual, fun and friendly. Especially the staff, they were really nice and know how to make you feel welcomed. I had the quiche and salad, great quality meal! I would get it again. There are games you can rent per hour and also a lot of free ones. We took a free one but never ended up playing it. Next time. This is a great idea. I had a fantastic grilled peach, burrata toast today and the chipotle bowl earned high marks. the iced tea game is elite ( three flavors of unsweetened and I got peach) I am a sucker for free refills in iced tea, but given the game playing, slow turnover of this establishment.a $3 refill seems fair. Love the concept of having games available. Should note that not all games are free to play but think it is a good way to try and keep your games intact and a good way to sample them in groups. Appreciate how they are labeled by difficulty as well. The food was good. I got a grilled cheese and added the beef which was delicious. They just happened to be doing a tomato soup and got that as well to dip the sandwich. My friend got the chimichurri bowl which she liked. The coffees were excellent. I am so glad I found this spot - I can see myself visiting again very soon! I was here with a colleague for brunch on a Wednesday afternoon and I really needed some good comfort food. I ordered the pandan matcha and I got the chicken panini - so much goodness in this order! I loved how simple yet flavorful the panini was - I usually prefer them extra toasted and the server made sure it was perfectly extra toasted. Not too much to have crumbs all over SF - just perfect ! The pandan latte which I got as a hot drink - was so perfectly made. Loved my experience here! I came here for the first time with a group of four gals, and it was a nice casual café. I ordered the Korean mushroom, tofu bowl, and the pond on creamy drink thing. They were both delicious! The drink was sweetened and I got light sweet, but it was still pretty sweet and creamy. Very delicious though. The bowl was on a bed of rice that was seasoned, actually quite spicy, with lots of mushrooms and tofu on top. And some veggies as well. The bowl was actually kind of dense so I wasn't able to finish the whole thing, but the quantity wasn't massive especially for the price. What a cute cafe! This a board game cafe that seems very cozy. You pay $5 for an hour of play and some are free for 1 hour with purchase. I like that they label games according to easy, medium, hard, etc. I just came for a drink and I sat outside. I tried the Spellweaver. This had strawberry puree, matcha and milk. This is cool concept of a cafe and went to check it out w my friend but w soy milk and tip two lattes were $20 served in a tiny very pretty but tiny cup; only to learn that most board games are not free but $5 per hour. There is a small shelf with limited free options. One of the cutest spots on Broadway! Plucky's is a cozy, family-friendly, inviting board game cafe with lots of delicious speciality drinks. This is the type of place you see a lot in San Francisco but surprisingly few of in the peninsula, so I love having this cafe right here in Burlingame. I've come here multiple times, and every drink I've had has been great. On my most recent visit, I tried the shadow dancer and absolutely loved it! It had a great balance of sweetness with a hint of cardamon spice - would definitely recommend trying this one. The service has also always been friendly and prompt. For how busy they consistently seem to be, our drinks always come out pretty quickly. And while I still haven't tried the food here yet, I will definitely be doing so on my next visit. I'm also consistently impressed with the variety of board games available for use here - there's enough here to keep friends and families entertained for hours. And even if you're not a board game person, it's just fun to walk into a cafe that so openly invites sitting down and hanging out, and to see groups of people laughing and being silly over their games of choice! This place is a blast! The interior is very playful, with cool movie or game related posters. There are tons of games to play. Some are free, and most are $5 per hour per person. You can pick any game from the shelves and start playing right away. The host will put a timer next to you to remind you when it's time to switch games after an hour or to remember that another hour would be charged after the mentioned time. This place is super cute! I can with my sister after lunch as we were in the area and wanted a sweet treat. The cafe is soooo cute! The artwork on the walls is amazing and adds to the vibe. I didn't realize that this cafe was more of a sit down but we got our drinks to go. I got the hojicha strawberry cream and my sister got the latte sunkeeper with oatmilk. Both drinks were so good! Came kind of early and it was mostly just parents bringing their kids here so they can pick up some random board game and let their kids just bang on the pieces on the table while they ate. The options of board games looked extensive but I'm not sure how many of them had missing pieces judging from how the patrons used them. Food tastes good, but portion size is on the skimpy side. A cute board game cafe in Burlingame! I went on a Monday afternoon so it was not crowded. I was told to try this place for a while now and I'm glad I did. My strawberry matcha was gentle, with delicate flavors, good but I'd recommend going a little heavier on the matcha flavor. I love lemon cakes so I had to give this piece a try. I'd say the almond flavor is more prominent than the lemon, it's a light but slightly dense, sweet tasty piece of cake. The powdered sugar on top is yummy. This would be a wonderful spot to take your kids, family or even a light hearted date because they have board games that you can play. The inside is themed to board games too and is decorated nice. The area is a great spot, I'd recommend! Would love to try this spot again for more food, I want to try the spritzers they have, those looked really interesting. read more

I also ordered avocado toast. I'd have to say if probably try something else next time. The toast was tasty but I make my own so my standards are a bit higher on avocado toast. Michelle made my coffee perfect it was really the highlight of my visit. Along woth watching Jervey interact with all the customers. It was a great breakfast before the chaos of my work day. It took them a long time to get me a cup of water and I ended up going up to ask if I could service myself. They told me to wait a bit more so I sat back down. The food ended up coming out first before my hot water could, and the orange juice came last. The orange juice was too sweet for my companion but we enjoyed our entrees. He saw that my daughter wanted to try the banana bread but we didn't get it and he gave us a slice on the house just so she could try some! Excellent customer service, delicious coffee and food. My husband and I split a breakfast burrito and they proactively provided us extra plates for sharing. The coffee and burrito were all delicious. We browsed the games and see that some games are free and some must be paid for. It does make sense to be able to keep the games in good condition. Minus one star though as I hope they will reconsider the one hour limit policy on laptops. We went on a weekday and there were tons of empty tables. I'd love to come back to enjoy breakfast and work for a bit but 1 hour is just not enough time. I loved the drink selections, especially the assortment of specialty drinks, and I loved the ambience, but I hated the fact that when I got my drink delivered to the table, they also brought a sign that showed exactly when my laptop time (and hence my time at the cafe) would be up. I had already read a very clear sign on the table indicating there was an hour limit on laptops and WiFi use, and perhaps not everyone reads or follows instructions, but that EXTRA sign just seemed like overkill. Honestly, if it's such an issue I say they should just allow NO laptops or have an auto time out on the WiFi. Either would have left a better taste in my mouth. read more

This cafe has free games for the first hour, but only a few available like deck of cards, Exploding Kittens, and Uno but no board games were free. The deck of cards we tried to play with were all mixed up with another deck. There is a sign that says you have to check in at the counter so it's enforced although no one came up to us when our time was up but we returned the games ourselves. We also paid to pay board games which is $5 per hour per person which is $20 for 2 people for 2 hours. The smoked salmon croissant was pretty good but overpriced at $22 (4/5; nice amount of salmon and nicely paired w/ capers and aioli). Furthermore, you have to pay to play the board games ($10/person!) at this 'board game cafe', which to me is just sad. In theory the ambiance should have been nice and chill but must every amenity cost?! If you prefer your coffee strong, you'll like the Mont Blanc Mindthief, consisting of cold brew, housemade black sugar, cream top, nutmeg, and orange zest. For $8 it's a bit on the pricey side given that it's 10oz and there was a giant ice cube but expected since it's a seasonal drink. The Holiday Spellweaver was matcha with housemade cranberry strawberry puree and milk. I was pleasantly surprised because I could definitely taste the cranberry and I like that it's a unique holiday spin on the typical strawberry matcha drinks that have gained popularity over the years. This drink was $7.50 which is about the going rate for strawberry matcha these days. While sipping our drinks, we played some of the free games available.
