I work upstairs and this cafe has everything you could possibly want and need. Breakfast foods, coffee, boba, sandwiches, and desserts. Service is always quick and the ladies who work there are extremely nice. The mochi muffins are AMAZING. The chicken pesto is my favorite. You can't go wrong with any of the smoothies, boba, or coffee. Boba is a bit on the sweet side so I always ask for less sugar and they're able to accommodate me. So happy to have them in the building!
I had to come back after the recent yelp experience with them! I walked in after a doctors appointment nearby and just had to come back for their strawberry matcha latte. They are so sweet, I took a long time deciding what sandwich I wanted. Everything is super homey and cute, I would love to come and study there sometime. Definitely coming back for more :) My order: Strawberry Matcha Latte w Oat - This is one of the best matcha latte's I've ever had, because the quality is so good. Turkey Cranberry Sandwich - At first I thought it was small for the price but then my first bite of it made it make sense. It's actually so good and the bread was so crunchy! Chocolate Chip Cookie - Thin crispy and super buttery, really good!
La Matche Cafe is another hidden gem as it is relatively hard to notice when passing by as it is accross the street from Burlingame Plaza and it is located at the Peninsula Life Science Center on the lobby floor. I had a great experience coming here and the owner and the team are super friendly. They opened before the pandemic and have been serving workers nearby for years. The inside is small, but it's very cozy and has some seating available. Their matcha lattes and sandwiches were really good. They pride themselves on using fresh ingredients/fruit and not using powder. The Iced Matcha Latte ($6) was something I had to try especially when it is part of their name, but it did not dissapoint. This is definitely better matcha than any other shop in the area. It had just the right amount of sweetness and you can taste the matcha flavor. I had to pace myself and not drink it too fast because it was so good. I got mine with Oatmilk and you can also add lychee or boba as well. I got to try the Turkey Pesto Sandwich ($11.49) and Ultimate Club Sandwich ($12.49). Both were great sandwiches although I give the edge to the Turkey Pesto because I love pesto and all the ingredients were so fresh. If you are in Millbrae or Burlingame then I recommend coming here for a drink or sandwiches/salads. Parking can be a little challenging, but I think it is worth the trip here regardless.
Quick take: order in advance Rookie move on the first visit. We ordered in person at the counter. Must order in advance. Especially, around the lunch hour. They are extremely busy with a small staff. Avocado smoothie was good. It tasted like avocado. Also ordered a Strawberry matcha latte. Also pretty good. The pulled pork sandwich was very tasty. I would order that again. The grilled chicken sandwich wasn't as good as the pulled pork sandwich. Probably order it on different days or don't mix. Grilled chicken sandwich would have been good if I didn't have a taste of the pulled pork sandwich. I checked in on Yelp for a free matcha strawberry macaron.
If you don't know you are looking for this place, you won't come across it!! It is on a narrow side road in the lobby of an office building and seems it mostly caters to those in workforce in the area. I was driving home and was in the mood for some matcha latte and La Matcha Cafe was a minute away, had great YELP reviews and also the name was enough for me to try them!! There was the coffee irking lunch crowd waiting for their to-go meals and there was me ordering my latte. The place is very small and has two tables for dining in and a few bar stools by the windows. The rest is just the kitchen, counter and some fridge for drinks. My latte was well prepared but could have used more of the matcha flavor/powder. Service was fast and the shop is clean.
If you are in San Francisco and want a fun desert you should drop by to La Matcha Cafe. We picked up some macarons for Easter. I could not resist getting the bunny and chick ones. The services was fast and courteous. Next time I am in the area and need sweets, I am coming back to here.
Check-in on Yelp for free Thai ice tea but it was a small cup with a lot of ice. If I had known I would have just ordered a full size matcha. Croissant sandwich with ham - was pretty good but nothing too special I'd go out of my way for. Parking was confusing at first as a lot of spots say reserved but the parking along the street is free for 2 hours.
Yum! They are a small little cafe inside a business building (so it is a little tricky to spot). I had their ultimate club sandwich on dutch crunch and it was tasty! It was a little small for the price, but the flavor was quite nice. I found the bread to be fresh and nicely textured (the dutch crunch was soft yet crunchy from the outside bits). Nice combination of meats (ham, turkey, bacon) plus avocado! Their mochi muffins are cute; very squishy texture. I liked their chocolate one the best.
After visiting the doctor nearby, this is the perfect treat after! It's located in an office building but it's right at the entrance so it's quite accessible. Free parking all aligned on the street. More of a to-go place. I had a large matcha with oat milk. Too many places have either weak or weirdly floral matcha. Not this place, this is good solid matcha! Their strawberry matcha combo is delightful and well-balanced as well. Ok going with the theme of strawberry matcha... the macaron version is well made! Creamy with strong matcha flavor. They also have mochi muffins which are fantastic as well as sandwiches. Small shop with lots of great options!
I had breakfast nearby and was looking for a good dessert spot and found this. I saw the picture of the Easter macarons and wanted to possibly get it. It's definitely cute but a little pricey. I get it takes time to make it, but I didn't really have anyone to give it to that can appreciate it. This place was a little hard to find. It's located in a medical building. The only way I knew where it was, there was a sign outside of the building. The store itself is nice, I'm guessing they haven't been there that long? Decor is nice. I just felt like it was a little cramped. I could see a bunch of containers and boxes, that's all. I came shortly after they opened. One of the ladies who took my order was super nice. I didn't get her name, but my guess is she's one of the owners. She was definitely helpful in helping me decide what to order. I ordered: 1. Mango matcha latte - I was surprised that it had real mango bits in it. Once mixed together, you can taste the mango and matcha separately, but it was the perfect blend. It's not super sweet, but you can still taste the mango with the matcha. 2. Mochi muffins flavors (in order that I like and highly recommend). These were still nice and warm when I purchased it. #1. Strawberry matcha - Has bits of fresh strawberry. Perfect balance of tart and sweet. Consistency of the muffin was light and couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't #2. Pandan- Lightly sweet but didn't have a significant taste. #3. Almond sesame - This was good. It just had a strong almond taste. I wasn't really a fan. 3. Macarons (in order that I liked and highly recommend) #1. Matcha Strawberry - my new favorite. Sad, I only got one. It was light and not overly sweet like you would get sick of it at most places. Just like the lady said. #2. Strawberry - I typically go for chocolate first, but this strawberry was tasty. It wasn't the artificial nesquik strawberry flavor, but it was way better if that makes sense. #3. Chocolate - Creamy and not overly decadent or rich #4. Oreo - to be honest, it was ok. Sometimes, I feel that oreo gets played out with so many things nowadays. I couldn't taste it. #5. Can't recall flavor #6. Almond- just like the mochi muffins, strong flavor just not for me. If you're not familiar with the South Bay Peninsula, you'll probably walk around a few circles, before finding La Matcha Cafe tucked oddly in the lobby of a medical (or similar) building. However, don't let the lack of ambiance fool you - it's still worth! I was in the South Bay jonesing for Matcha when La Matcha Cafe in Burlingame popped on my radar! The curious cat that I am was intrigued by the perfect ratings and the Japanese "Matcha" in it's name. What I didn't know is that it's located inside a lobby of a big building lol. Free parking on premises so no worries, but I then found myself circling 2 1/2 times trying to find the La Matcha Cafe door lol. Instead of looking for an entrance I found following the signs more useful. Finally finding La Matcha Cafe inside the sterile lobby, near the elevators, is when I enter to a rather charming spot with warm decor and just enough seating. The two young ladies, who I also believe are the owners, greeted me as I order the Mango Matcha Oat Latté! The price point seemed a tad steep, especially not being in the city, but hey let's just do it! After a short couple of minutes my Mango Matcha Oat Latté is ready! After a couple of mandatory influencer pics... I take my first sips mmm. Definitely hit the spot! The Matcha mingling perfectly with the Mango purée, the Oat a nice balance to a wonderful drink! In the end, I would recommend La Matcha Cafe if in the Burlingame/San Mateo area. However, I would be lying to say it's worth a special trip from the city. Overall, the owners were pleasant, the drink delicious (tho on the pricier side), the vibe.. well... hey you're in a medical building in Burlingame! Solid 4-stars visit! I had high hopes for this cafe and really thought this was a neighborhood hidden gem based on the solid 5 star reviews. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. From the looks of it, they basically buy everything from Business Costco and make simple items. I can make the same croissant sandwiches at home. I did try the mochi muffins and got a good sampling of all their available flavors. They're quite expensive $14 for 4 and each muffin was pretty small. I also waited a really long time for them and it sounded like they were already premade from awhile back and they just reheated for me. La Matcha is a very small cafe tucked away inside a business building on the other side of a big shopping plaza on El Camino. It doesn't get a whole lot of foot traffic so I imagine the only people who visit there must work on the same block and go there for convenience.
La Matcha is a hidden gem! I did not find out about them until this year but since then, I've become a regular for their drinks and sandwiches. First off, the service is great. The ladies that run the place are very accommodating and friendly. Sometimes, there's a big rush around lunch so they will tell you an approximate time for when your order is ready. Second, I think any drink that they make is great. I usually get a strawberry banana smoothie (they even do less sugar) or an iced mocha but their passion fruit mixed tea is also delicious. Lastly, their sandwiches are well balanced and hit the spot. Specifically, I like to get the Ultimate Club with extra meat. If you have enough room, I highly recommend the mochi muffins for dessert There isn't a lot of seating but it is what you'd expect for a cafe. If you are craving a nice sandwich or a caffeine boost, give La Matcha a shot!

This cafe has a Lunar New Year special mochi muffin box for the rest of the month! They also serve sandwiches and boba The muffins are flavorful and have a nice chewy texture overall 5/5 Black Sesame Mochi Muffin was my favorite. Good nutty flavor incorporated and you could see black and white sesame on top! Slightly chewy mochi texture but more regular muffin like 5/5 Pandan Coconut Mochi Muffin was also my favorite. Enjoyed the roasted coconut flavor in this a lot. Also quite nice chewy mochi texture 4/5 Yuzu Mandarin Mochi Muffin was good citrus flavor and fairly sweet. This batch also had the most bouncy texture 4/5 Matcha Red Bean Mochi Muffin has a light matcha flavor but the red bean at the bottom was nice. This one was a bit drier compared to the others It's a bit challenging to find from outside but enter in the office building door from the corner. Decent parking options on the small street parallel to El Camino Real. Cafe has some seating on the inside. Stephanie the owner is so friendly! read more

Only ordered a drink here, so I can only review that. Small shop with some sandwiches, drinks, and pastries. Tucked away within a complex and a bit difficult to find. One table and a bar counter to sit looks perfect for lunch. This place also has WiFi if you need to do a little work. Off to drink review! 3.6/5 - Dirty Matcha - Tasted more sweet and milk than any expresso. Was hoping for a bit more coffee flavor and caffeine. Not sure how much is put in. Doesn't have the multi section aesthetic either as they mix it for you already so I can't figure out milk to coffee ratio. If you are more into sweet things this might be for you. read more

Honestly, I really liked the stop here. Very tiny space, great for quick breakfast sandwiches, lunch, and beverages. It's inside a tall office building with a free parking garage and parking lot behind it. You can also park in the front entrance area of the office building, but note that too many cars will stop and do nothing or not go, creating a parking traffic jam near the ATM machine down the same street. Signs easily lead you to the cafe. La Matcha Cafe had no lines around 10 AM - 11 AM on a Wednesday. You can sit inside on the bar chairs facing the front windows to eat, or sit in the lobby area across from the elevators. Beautiful black and white photos to look at in the lobby area. Not much tables or seats. Cashier took our orders quickly and they do accept credit cards. They get most of their customers from other businesses inside and near the building. Food tastes excellent. First impression looks good. Cashier is efficient. Beverages are excellent. Today, we had a hot cup of dirty matcha latte, croissant breakfast sandwich, breakfast muffin with the avocado and eggs, and a very delicious matcha brownie. They were very generous with the eggs, so the sandwiches were very fulfilling. Inexpensive. We waited nearly 10 minutes to get our order since it was early in the morning. Not many customers yet. Easy parking. Everything was good and carefully wrapped in layers, making it a very clean finish. I will come back to try the mochi bites next time. Maybe I will try the lunch sandwiches and salads too. I think this is a great spot if you are around the BART and CalTrain areas. Just know that it's a very hidden and tiny cafe, but filled with delicious snacks and small bites. read more

Pulled Pork Sandwich is fire. Avocado smoothie is also good. Tasted the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Maybe it was the pulled pork sandwich effect, but it felt like it was missing something. And it was on a sesame seed hamburger bun (not a fan, team dutch crunch). So adjust your tastes accordingly. Also tasted the strawberry matcha latte. I've had better. Order ahead. We messed up and ordered there during lunch hours. The wait was looong. We also didn't get the Thai tea that was offered to $10+ orders since we didn't pay attention to the board out front. My first time discovering such a wonderful and unique store! The variations of food and desserts they are selling are incredible. Never underestimate how delicious they are based on the size of their cafe! The service was just out of this world, I came there to try their strawberry matcha latte with lychee jelly and drank it all. Then, I ordered their Cobb salad and it was packed beautifully and with enough for me to be nice & filled up! Lastly, the owner of the store just got their freshly baked MOCHI BITES done and gave me one free to try & even heated it for me. My experience here was just surprises on top of surprises! Take my words with a grain of salt, everyone has their opinions but I enjoyed my time here very much, so I recommend everyone to come take your breakfast & lunch bites here! read more

Ever since I started working close by, La Matcha has been a go-to for me! They serve typical cafe food like sandwiches and pastries. They order their ingredients fresh and are generous with their portions. Their drinks are even better. They source their matcha from Japan and you can taste the difference. The best part about La Matcha is their service! They always work as fast as possible even during the lunch rush, and they're always so friendly. They always brighten my day when I come by. Finally did over time so I can come here after work. If you can't find parking, there's a parking garage near by that has a visitor section. I asked what the top 3 popular sandwich is and the lady said it was the turkey pesto, grilled chicken, or the ultimate club sandwich. But then she changed her answer and said the sandwiches are all equally popular so I just stuck with her first answer and went with the turkey pesto sandwich. I also ordered the mango matcha latte which was on their La Matcha Cafe Specials with lychee jelly and it was really good. I had a Yelp check in and got a free macaron. I tried their strawberry matcha flavor but they do have other flavors like strawberry, passion fruit, chocolate, Oreo, and almond. If you look at the picture I took of the macaron, you can see the texture isn't as smooth as what the display looked like or what I'm use to looking at.... But don't be fooled by the looks. ITS REALLY GOOD! They serve it cold, but I waited at least 15 minutes before eating it and it's nice and soft. I also really liked my sandwich. They don't skimp on the turkey and I do love pesto so I might be biased haha. I definitely enjoyed this little cafe. read more

Very small and cozy cafe with a nice selection of drinks and pastries. There's even cup ramen you can buy. I stumbled upon it after an appointment in the nextdoor building. Encountered a slight issue when I ordered the jasmine milk tea with boba and was told the boba wasn't ready after I got the drink. Maybe she didn't hear me say "add boba", or she told me it wasn't ready and I didn't hear...but the lady was very nice and offered to serve some on the side once it was ready in about half an hour (I was studying). Note: the boba usually isn't ready until approximately 11am. The milk tea drink itself was good, but the boba was tasteless (wasn't soaked in honey or sugar?). The sausage and egg croissant was excellent though - fresh and hot, the croissant was crispy and the eggs were so fluffy. read more
Gave this spot another try and was disappointed again. It is raining so i needed something quick and close by. They took my order when the place was empty, more customers came and seemed to got their orders before mine. I asked for an update and the lady in the back looked at me so confused while the other worker reminded her of my order, then they started making it. The food is okay. I'm impressed by the croissant breakfast sandwich. The sandwich is toasted in such a way where there's a delightful crunch in every bite. The sandwich had a generous portion of egg. The bacon was crispy. The cheese was perfectly melted. I'd come here again for their sandwich. I had a bite of my partner's BBQ pulled pork sandwich on Dutch crunch, and the bread also had such a nice crunch and texture. Whatever this little cafe is doing to serve up delicious sandwiches, please keep it up! The macaroons are also delicious. They are a bit larger than your average macaroon, and the texture of the cookie and the cream is just perfect. I'd recommend to guests allowing yourself extra buffer time if you come during peak times. There were 2 workers juggling everything from cooking, making drinks, taking orders in person and over phone. They were busy but they did let me know the expected wait time. La Matcha Cafe is located inside an office building on the lower level. I love how they left a white stand outside the building to direct you on where the cafe is located. The cafe is literally few steps from the entrance of the building. **Check in to La Matcha Cafe and you get a free Thai Iced Tea~ Right away, the lady at front was very welcoming and nice. I have seen so many good looking photos of the treats La Matcha has and finally got to try this place out. We primarily came here for the Macarons, however, you do not know how many other things I wanted to try!! The drinks, the sandwiches, the infamous Mochi bites I keep seeing reviews about, a lot of the stuff looked good. Now...I was NOT expecting the Macarons to be huge!!! It was so exciting to see the colorful assortment of big Macarons we ordered. 15 Macarons totaled up to $40. The flavors of the day at the time when we went was Strawberry, Coconut, Matcha Strawberry, Guava, Oreo, and Chocolate. ***My favorites: Guava (9/10 rating), Coconut (10/10 rating) and Matcha Strawberry (8/10 rating) I definitely want to come back to try out other goodies! Omg this place is such a hidden gem! I love their drinks! We've ordered strawberry green tea latte, and it was awesome! It is made with real fresh strawberries! You can taste the sweetness of the strawberry with a good blend of matcha latte. I was not sure about if at first because it looks like a weird combo for me, but it is such a good combination! Small cafe with pretty good boba/latte drink selections and sandwiches within the Peninsula Professional Center! I heard some small buzz about this cafe as I was yelping around the Burlingame and Millbrae area and decided to actively come to try it. It's on the first floor of this big Professional Center building. Normally little cafe/delis like these are just passable and accessible serving those that work in the building, but La Matcha has been actively trying to lure outside customers in as well with signs outside. Parking is pretty easy--there is plenty of 2 hour parking right outside the Professional Center. Get there by driving on Trousdale right past the large El Camino Real street and turning right away after passing the intersection. It was a bit confusing for me since the address says El Camino, but is actually on a small divided one-way street parallel to all the many lanes of El Camino. Note there have been some weird locked/broken door issues for the entering doors of the Professional Center. If the door isn't propped open so you can get to the cafe, you can always go around the building to the other side to an unlocked door. This small cafe has a pretty good selection of matcha lattes, boba drinks, as well as some sandwiches and homemade pastries. I ended up ordering the hot Ginger Matcha Latte ($4.50), which was just the right level of sweetness for me. I really liked how the matcha flavor stood out and that the ginger was subtly spicy! I also ordered the Ultimate Club ($9.50). It was one pretty delicious and loaded sandwich toasted with ham, turkey, bacon, tomato, avocado, mayo, swiss cheese on Dutch Crunch! Yum! Overall, I would definitely come back for another ginger matcha latte, or try their boba next time. While they can't completely beat out the largeness and cheapness of the Little Lucca dutch crunch sandwiches across the street, their Ultimate Club was a cleanly made and deliciously packed sandwich. The owners/workers are also nice. Though it's not the most comfortable place to hang out and chat coffee-shop style, it is a great place to pick up a hot drink! read more

So I was told to try this cafe located in Burlingame for a while now. So as I am making my plans to visit this some time soon, I was convinced to order a BLTA ( bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado ) sandwich, and mango passion fruit smoothie to go. Also I made an additional chicken with spicy mayo sauce to be added as well. Without question or any hesitation, the store fulfilled my request. very good. I cant wait to try their other pastries. Hole in the wall little cafe with cute interior design. Not to mention food and drinks are super delicious as well. It lays under Peninsula Professional Center. The place may be hard to locate but looking for the name where it lays will be easier for you to find. We had the ultimately sandwich and passion fruit mix which was very very refreshing.Both tasted satisfying. It is family owned and they have great customer service. The place is very clean and plenty of parking in the garage and around the area in general. A definitely must try. read more
