MY FAVORITE SANDWICH SHOP! Little Lucca's has held the title for over 10 years. I don't think I even had a favorite spot before them. I gotta say... they have never let me down. I've tried a lot of different sandwiches. Some of my faves are the Seafood Combo (Tuesdays and Fridays), the Ultimate with pepper jack cheese, and a good old pastrami. The garlic sauce makes them stand out. That paired with dutch crunch plus fresh ingredients stacked up in a fat ass sandwich... you can't go wrong. I make a mess every single time and very much enjoy doing so. There have probably only been 2 or 3 times that I've gone and there wasn't a line, but it moves quick. Is it worth the drive over the San Mateo bridge? Yes!

The sandwich is packed with your choice of protein. Comes with tomatoes, pickles, mayo, mustard, garlic sauce, hot pepper sauce, lettuce, and red onions. You can omit whatever you want. It's such a huge sandwich that you can easily save the other half for another meal. Best of all...tastes great. There is easy parking in this strip mall. The wait was about 20 - 25 minutes. They are efficient in making the sandwiches, but the line had about eight people ahead of me. There's no place to eat inside. This is purely take-out.

Came in right when they opened..Aiden helped us and made all of our sandwiches. Aiden was so helpful and even suggested ways we could save a couple bucks by ordering some of our sandwiches differently. We really appreciated his suggestion because he didn't have to help us save but he did..honest and great service. We had 6 sandwiches all together and each sandwich was different. He made each sandwich exactly how we wanted it. This was my first time at Little Lucca's..my coworkers have been here before..so they knew what to order. It took me awhile to decide what I wanted..after looking over the menu I decided on half pastrami half corn beef on dutch crunch. It was delicious!!! The sandwich was like a brick!!! Big big sandwich..I ate it in one seating..no left over..yum! I love a good dutch crunch sandwich. If you are in the area and craving a sandwich I highly recommend coming here.

I understand why this place is so popular!! I'm on the hunt for great sandwiches in the bay area and had Little Lucca saved for the longest time. Ordered the Lucca Combo on Dutch crunch, toasted to share with my boyfriend. Prices are $$$, but once you see how massive they are, it's worth it!! The sauces were delicious and had generous amount of meat. Fast service - we lined up at the door and it took us 8 minutes to get to the front to order on a Saturday 1PM. Easy parking as it's in a plaza. Next time I'm in the area, I want to try their tri-tip!

Reading news about a longtime deli on the East Bay closing inspired me to stop here (sandwich craving) on a Thursday late morning after an errand. I walked in a little after 10:30 am, following a lady who was just ahead of me. There was a couple in the line, but they were studying the menu. A few minutes later, both parties were called to the counter which gave me time to study their menu and counter display (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=V7fH__UQMSYDCxUlfR1OEg). When i reached the counter, a young lady took my sandwich order as well as my salad requests. As my items were prepared, I waited at the cashier area and added a couple bags of potato chips from the rack (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=z7c-S9yq463_GiCO8SOKcQ). After finishing my errands a couple hours later, I parked my car and started on my lunch. I ate half of my Lucca combo on Dutch crunch, everything on it (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=ll4Vbxy5f-pBpmLCQCV-gw) as it literally felt like a loaf of bread; the combo is comprised of mortadella, provolone, salami. There definitely is no shortage of meat and veggies (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=qvIqGmvlatliKe46KsP5WQ). The flavors especially from their house hot/garlic sauce are consistent with their original location in SSF. I enjoyed this as it's been a while since I've been to that one. I could only finish half of it and brought it home, wrapped it (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=b5TY_gwbobNjGBLjkZi5mA), and had it a couple days later for lunch. I also bought a half pint of cole slaw (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=hO3jxu82Gu2Q0hJQQnxKYg) and a half pint of antipasto (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=mSNx9MSvEKlmjuC5ra404Q); I like my cole slaw on the sweeter slice (ala KFC) so this was just okay for me. The antipasto was interesting as I wasn't sure whether there was 'pasta' in this (no there isn't). It is a mix of green and black olives, mushrooms, artichoke leaves and heart pieces. I enjoyed this as the marinated was strong. Thank you to my sandwich maker Angie for also packing my salads while multi-tasking in filling other orders. The cashier was efficient as professional too. I look forward to coming here if in the neighborhood and now know that the line is not as crazy as the original shop. *** Oh, and get those Zapp's chips from New Orleans. They are one of only a few places that sells this.

I heard lots about this place, and after trying it, I understand the hype! The staff is very efficient and nice when ordering. Though the place is small and older, they make sure to be quick with it while keeping the quality of the sandwich. The staff made sure to get my order correct, and the sandwich was so giant. It lasted me a few meals to finish, and all of the ingredients were fresh and filling.

Ordered delivery from Burlingame location. I could say I like more the one in El Camino in South San Francisco. Not sure but ordered the same but there's a taste that missing here but still sandwich is humongous can share with 2 -3 person. Me and my husband always get Hot Pastrmami in Dutch crunch.

One of my favorite Bay Area staples, I had to go to Lucca's and get some sandwiches again. The Burlingame location is a small deli shop and you order when you get to the front. My partner and I got the Southwestern and Chicken Santa Fe on dutch crunch. We asked the workers their favorite sandwich and EVERY SINGLE RESPONSE was Tri Tip!!! Now we know! The sandwiches were good! Lucca's garlic spread is iconic, though while eating it, I was getting food fatigue. I'm being nit-picky, but I wish the dutch crunch was a bit more crispy. Regardless the sandwich itself was great and I'm definitely getting the tri tip next time!

Yippee- we can't eat a WHOLE one - this is great food to share!! Custom made sandwiches!

First time here, near Mills Peninsula hospital. We usually go to the other Little Lucca - yeah that one with the line out the door and down the street... We got a great sandwich here in Burlingame, really good! Ordered a Double Meat sandwich - Corned Beef & Pastrami ... oh how good! Has Cole slaw and Swiss cheese and Russian sauce -it was great, tasty, spicy, juicy. I am Full after 1:2... so YES you can share! Or perhaps you can eat the whole sandwich and explode. What ever you choose here is good, quality ingredients, carefully prepared! Small place, no tables, take your great meal to a park, or home. Eat in your car "at your own risk"- Juicy, Messy, Delicious!

My favorite sandwich place! I love how big these sandwiches are, fresh ingredients, and service is great and they work really hard, every time I go there's a line out the door, granted It is a small place.. but still lol

Quick review. We tried 3 sandwich specials with Dutch crunch bread. I would say they were underwhelming in terms of the sauces and condiments used. For example, the chicken Santa Fe has a nice touch w the raspberry chipotle, but it could have used more zing to it, like a lemon aioli or garlic spread. Instead of cheddar, I would change it to pepper jack or provolone so it compliments the pesto. The fire roasted steak Caesar could've used some pepperoncinis or something else to add heat. Another lesson learned is I definitely should ask for the bread to be toasted next time. Pricing was about $15-18 a sandwich which I'm not that mad about. It's better than Katz Deli being $30. FYI I'm not usually a sandwich person bc I'm all about a good plated meal, but I would still come back and try to build my own a sandwich!

Of course the OG location for any place will be better than the newer ones. However if I'm really craving and don't wanna wait in a long line I'd opt into going to the Burlingame location. I love that there isn't a giant line wrapping around the building. Service is pretty quick and the taste of the sandwiches are pretty much identical to the South sf location. Bonus points go to this location is in a little shopping mall that has a grocery store, boba spot, even a liquor store. This location is prime if you're trying to knock out other errands while getting food.

Bay Area Natives rave about Little Lucca (especially the South San Francisco location) to out of towners and is a favorite among many. I've eaten at Little Lucca a handful of times in the past but this was my first time at the Burlingame location. The line wasn't too long due to it being around noon- I arrived before the bustling crowd. I will say it's much roomier than the original location and modern. I ordered the chicken parmesan on dutch crunch bread and got it with onions and mozzarella ( I left the other ingredients and condiments off because I felt that it would be too much). The sandwich was massive and was made with care. My favorite part was the infamous dutch crunch bread. They have their original garlic sauce that you cannot leave off of your sandwich because quite frankly would it even be a Little Lucca sandwich without it? All in all, I was satisfied with my sandwich and could not finish it in one sitting. So, if you're ever in the mood and are in either South San Francisco or Burlingame- try it. Even though Little Lucca isn't my personal favorite sandwich shop- it is undeniable that they make good sandwiches!

The other one on the other hand... she is NASTY & responds very rude to customers. I've encountered it several times now trying to let it slide but it's out of hand & hence this long awaited review.... CUSTOMER SERVICE DEFINITELY CAN RUIN A BUSINESS. I'd suggest the business owners have a talk to her about her personality and mood. One time she talked about my elderly father & made him feel bad - he didn't want to come back and said she's mean. Another time I asked her a simple question about a donut and felt like I was being scolded by my mom about frickin donuts! Talk about kill joy... who gets riled up about donuts?! She just is miserable and her negative energy & facial expression exudes - "I hate being here" Contemplating after today's instance of her taking the knife to open the donut box and rudely show me about my donut selection instead of just validating my order, that this is the last time dealing with her nasty attitude. It'll be disappointing if this is my last time supporting this business despite how good their donuts are, but customers shouldn't start their mornings or afternoons with a RUDE & MISERABLE EMPLOYEE, PERIOD.
