    Single scoop
    Deanna L.

Alot of unique flavors to try and their scoops are decently sized. I dont usually eat too much ice cream so even one scoop of one flavor could be a lot for me. I wished that we get to choose more than one flavor when ordering a single scoop like other gelato shops. The staff were a bit rude like they didn't have a care in the world, but still kind of sweet of him to attempt to turn my scoop into a rose. I ordered the strawberry honey lavender Cardomom and it was light in flavor, with hints of strawberry and honey and not much lavender.

We came here for the gelato and were not disappointed. They have many, many flavors to choose from, and the gelato is excellent quality. My husband and I both got 2 flavors in a cup. My husband got Lemon Cookie and Stracciatella. I got Pistacio and Torrone Nougat. All the flavors were great! There are a couple of tables inside and several more outside. If you want lunch, you can get that here too, but leave room for the gelato!

I veered from my normal gelato order of triple brownie chocolate to try the chocolate caramel crunch - it was not bad but a little more crunch than I like with gelato. The two scoops in a cup run $9.00 but that's Italian ice cream quality for ya.

    Honey Lavender Gelato

Caffe Stellato is such a great spot for gelato! The gelato is thick, creamy and full of flavor. I got the Honey Lavender and it was so good. The shop itself is a cute deli/mini grocery store with a great selection of gelato flavors. The staff were friendly, and I was happy it wasn't busy when I visited. It's located in downtown Burlingame, which is a pretty busy area so parking can be a little tough! but the gelato is definitely worth it!

Have a craving for authentic Italian Gelato? Well, Cafe Stellato is the place to go to. This place brings you back to Italy. It offers many Italian drinks, delicious desserts and snacks. The ambiance is totally European. Service was good, however an extra helper would have helped with the small line. Cafe Stellato is located on Burlingame Ave along with many restaurants and shops. Easy to get to and plenty of street parking.

Cute gelato and sandwich deli spot! We came here after work on Friday around 7pm. It was packed with students. To order sandwiches, you have to go to the back counter and order there then go to the register to pay. It was a bit confusing when we got there but the employees were helpful. We ordered two sandwiches and gelato: Siciliano with no cheese (3/5): it was a good sandwich. There was a good amount of meat, very flavorful meat. The sandwich could have benefited from more balsamic vinegar and fresher bread. Stellato Special (3/5): decent sandwich Gelato (4/5): gelato was good, we got the pistachio flavor. It was interesting how sticky it was since they don't add air to the gelato. The sandwich guy (who also helped us at the gelato) wasn't fluent in English so we had a hard time asking what gelato flavors were dairy-free. He was a very nice guy though who helped us remake the Siciliano sandwich when he realized he accidentally put cheese in it the first time. Overall, adorable place. We would probably come back during less busy hours to try some of their other sandwiches and gelato flavors. They have a bunch of candy and pasta and ingredients for purchase as well.

    Lychee gelato

Was craving a late sweet treat and came across this place! Arrived 20 minutes before closing and staff were friendly and welcoming. I was surprised that they had lychee flavored gelato so I went with this flavor. LITERALLY SO GOOD. I get why they're rated highly on Yelp. The gelato melts in your mouth and the lychee flavor was *chef's kiss* Tastes exactly how lychee does. This is definitely a new spot I'm adding to my desserts list!!!

Just happened upon this place this past week when out to dinner in downtown Redwood City. I must say..it is just the best. So if you are in the downtown area, feel like getting some nice gelato with many flavors..you need to try this place!! This is a must for those gelato lovers!

Caffé Stellato is one of those places that quietly earns your loyalty. Being open late already makes it a win, but the gelato is what seals the deal. The flavors are consistently delicious and you really cannot miss with any of them. Classic, trending, or something new, every scoop delivers. Add in the wide selection of candies and treats and it feels like there is always something fun waiting for you. The staff truly stands out. They are always kind, welcoming, and generous, which makes every visit feel easy and relaxed. They also offer sandwiches, which we have not had the chance to try yet, but it is definitely something we are looking forward to. The space itself is warm and inviting, with seating both inside and outside. The split doorways make it feel inviting to come inside and stay awhile. Burlingame has plenty to offer, but this spot keeps bringing me back. Great flavors, friendly faces, and a place that simply feels good to walk into.

Caffe Stellato has around 60 gelato flavors and also sells snacks from around the world. I spied some Dubai chocolate bars, Japanese snacks, and Pez dispensers with candy among other things. I sampled 3 flavors but ended up with 1 scoop of coconut for $5. Service was excellent. I will definitely come back!

    Kristi Y.

I recently visited Cafe Stellato for the first time and it exceeded my expectations. I decided to try the Dubai strawberry chocolate gelato, thinking it might be a bit overhyped, but it turned out to be absolutely amazing. The gelato was incredibly creamy and had just the right balance of sweetness. Afterward, we had some sandwiches and they didn't disappoint either. The flavors were fresh, and everything was prepared with care. The staff were incredibly kind. There's not a lot of seating inside but there's more tables outside of the place.

We went on a slow night and still dealt with a total "slow turnaround" and some classic operational gaffes. They couldn't find the bottle of wine we actually wanted and then spent way too much time trying to sell us on a different bottle we had zero interest in. It was a bit of a circus just to get the basics situated. But then the food arrived, and that's where the magic happened. I've seen reviews complaining about a "lack of flavor," but that was not our experience at all. We started with the beet salad--the honey-lemon notes were nice, though nothing to write home about. But once the mains hit, everything changed. The Carpaccio was spot on, the Ribeye (prepared perfectly to medium) was delicious, and the Branzino special was fantastic. And the Rigatoni Rustica? Believe the hype. It's a classic for a reason. Bottom line: The service is definitely sloppy, but I wouldn't dismiss this place because of it. The food is genuinely good Italian and the prices are reasonable for Burlingame. My advice? Skip the salads, ignore the service "monkey dance," and go straight for the classics. I'd definitely go back just for the steak and the Rigatoni alone. Highly recommended if you actually care about what's on your plate. An A++ local find.

4.5 star experience…read more My party of 5 arrived on a Saturday evening and got seated within a few minutes. Always love the option to join the online waitlist ahead of time when reservations aren't available. Favorite dishes of the night were: -Gnocchi Fritto appetizer: Never had fried gnocchi before, had a great puffy texture. Truffle taste in the truffle cream sauce wasn't very strong. -Zucchine e Maiz lasagna: Pesto was a great sauce choice and paired well with the zucchini and corn. -Squid Ink Seafood Pasta (special): Generous seafood portions and the dish was flavorful. -Complimentary focaccia: Fluffy and yummy with olive oil. Other dishes: The Italian Sausage lasagna was fine. I personally love crispy lasagna edges, but some people found it too crisp and too dry. The salad (Insalata di Rucola) wasn't mind blowing, but I'm glad we ordered a veg to cut through the richness and heaviness of three carb-heavy entrees. The restaurant itself is smaller than expected, so I would avoid coming here with large parties. It also felt really hot and stuffy inside, which I anticipate getting worse as summer progresses. The interior is cutely decorated. Service was initially attentive. We did have to flag down our waitress multiple times to order and get the check. Overall, my party enjoyed the food and we would come back!

The foccacia was given to us by our waiter without us asking, even though on the menu it stated we needed to ask. This was very fluffy and can be dipped in the olive oil provided at the table. I was immediately impressed with the lasagna with Italian sausage as I was making my first cut with my knife. I could tell that the pasta was freshly made and the sausage and sauce combo was amazing. I've had a lot of lasagna in my life and this dish stood out to me. The menu gives you an option to create your own pasta dish by choosing your pasta shape, sauce, protein, and topping, so we chose the gnocchi with Alfredo sauce and added chicken as the protein. Gnocchi was nicely dense and chewy, the Alfredo was creamy and not too salty. We ended our meal with dessert, and the waiter recommended tiramisu. I've been to Italy and had tiramisu, and also made it at home several times. The tiramisu was tasty, but what I noticed was that the lady fingers weren't really soaked in the coffee/Kahlua mixture so the dessert as a whole didn't have that flavor that tiramisu is known for, plus the texture was too dry and was more cake like. Also the mascarpone was a bit too hard and not soft, perhaps not enough whipped cream was added. Overall the meal was enjoyable and I would return again to try the other types of lasagnas, and perhaps their gelato.

We decided to just sit outside (despite this not being our preference and - again - we had a 6:30pm indoor reservation). An employee (said his name was Will) was friendly and apologetic - apparently 2 large tables rolled in without notice which threw off their planning for the evening. We understood and were empathetic, but at the same time, there was more that could have been done. Will mentioned that the party sitting at our table had already paid but continued to sit there, as if there was nothing he could do about it. However, I (and I'm pretty confident most people) have experienced being asked politely to wrap things up during a busy service when other guests are waiting on the table or have a reservation. Since he prioritized their table over us, he could have offered to comp us something small, but he didn't do that either. Food was tasty though prices were a bit steep. We also ordered 2 cocktails and were surprised how small they were. One final note: I originally ordered the Lavender Spritz cocktail. I was then informed they were out, so I tried to order a Last Word. Unfortunately, our waiter was unfamiliar with it. I asked if she could check with the bartender, and if they couldn't make a Last Word, I would take a margarita with tajin. She then asked me "what's tajin?" At that point, I gave up and told her I just wanted a regular margarita. Pretty disappointed as I've been dying to try Cafe Figaro for months after reading all the great reviews.

I made reservations for our party of eight for 6:30 PM via OpenTable. Easy peasy. Adding a few extra minutes to our travel time for finding street parking, we arrived just in time. No other tables were occupied, inside nor outside at the front patio. The venue, a warm space with dramatic lighting, was very clean and tidy during our visit. Trapeze's menu offers Italian fare with Mediterranean and Californian nuances. Upon seating, we were served baskets of complimentary bread accompanied with a unique red thick dipping oil which Peter enjoyed so much that he asked for more. The servers happily gave us extra servings. In addition to cocktails, wine, and coffee drinks, below are what we ordered for dinner: Lemon Citrus and Avocado Salad ($13) - I believe that Mom ordered this and found it to be light and refreshing. Ahi Tuna Tartar ($20) - I think that Peter and Mara shared this and ate it all up. I didn't hear any comments on it, though. Beet Salad ($14) - A very nice salad with generous slices of red and yellow beets and goat cheese. For an additional $12, Auntie Marissa added Salmon to her salad and had it as her main dish which filled her up. Grilled Polenta Cake ($12) - Auntie Marissa found this starter to be rich and filling. She said that Pal would really like it. Penne Con Pomodora E Melanzane ($20) - DJ was not very impressed by this bowl of pasta and eggplant, unfortunately. Paella Valencia ($32) - Uncle Danny is not a big seafood eater, but he was very pleased with this Spanish rice dish. Grilled Filet Mignon ($50) - Yum! This was my order and I loved it. Duck Ragu ($26) - Peter did not seem as enthusiastic about this pasta dish as he did with the complimentary red dipping oil for the baskets of bread. Penne Al Forno ($26) - Mom ordered this and thought that it was good. Classic Italian Tiramisu ($12) - This was served to me on the house, topped with a lit candle for my birthday. Everyone enjoyed sharing it. Bread Pudding ($13) - Ok, according to DJ. Trio of French Mini-Chocolate Beignets ($12) - These round beignets were like light donut holes filled with chocolate. They were nice, especially with the side of whipped cream and sliced strawberries. Service was excellently friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Although DJ didn't think highly of Trapeze Restaurant, Mom and I were delighted by the dinner and would return with pleasure.

The food here is okay, but the service is very disappointing. We came with our one-year-old…read moredaughter on a Friday evening and asked for an outdoor table with the heater on. It took over 10 minutes just to get the heater turned on, and the waiter only approached us twice, once to take our order and once to bring the food. While eating, they turned off the heater, forcing us to finish our meal in the cold. When we asked for the check, the staff suddenly became polite, clearly more interested in getting a tip. Good food, but poor service. I won't be coming back.

I have been here three or four times in as many months. Its literally the best and absolutely…read morerecommend you visit. First, the service is always great. We've had Tim a couple of times and a man named after the Wind. (That's what he told us his name meant but I dont remember his actual name). They know the menu, they're prompt and well dressed. When we've come on a birthday, we get a cute little cut of something sweet with a candle. Second, the food! Man oh man, the food!! They have an insane in-house charcuterie program with incredible imports and lovely accoutrements you dont usually get like tallow and compotes. The main dishes are innovative and flavorful. Plus they plate them on these lovely, hefty ceramics. The drinks are also very very tasty and are truly specialty both in flavor profiles and preparation. They're balanced and punchy. I LOVE coming here. I love it. You can pay more for a way way worse experience near by. 12/10 recommend.

We had no reservations and sat at the communal table but with no wait. Excellent service, our waiter was so attentive. Always filling up our water. Food came out quite fast as well. The 2 best things were the pizza and the blue prawns. The rest of the food was good but nothing that blew my mind.
