My son and I were headed down to Menlo Park from SF a d wanted to find a new sandwich spot to try out. Randomly picked The Boys' Deli 'cause by all indications it looked like a hard core sammy place . We were not disappointed. They claim to be the best sandwich restaurant in San Bruno, we would give them way higher props than that. Definitely a top 5 spot for SF Bay area. While we haven't tried them all yet, out of the 20 or so we have tried, this one made what we already agreed will be a lasting impression. Every sandwich looked great, tastefully considered and well accessorized Needless to say, if you find yourself anywhere near San Bruno or, like us, are looking for a pit stop between the city and the south bay, seriously consider putting this on your short list. I decide to get the SanFranPsycho sandwich which had honey turkey and it was saucy. It was a bit cheesy and the bread was not flakey like some in SF. It was savory and tangy but good. I also decided to try The Freak. The Dutch Crunch bread for The Freak was fresh and the pastrami brisket was tasty. It was a bit saucy with the honey mustard and chipotle sauce but it all together came out great. You can also order a side of spaghetti and potato salad or pair it with some of the crunchy chips available. Another great sandwich place in San Francisco. I was so excited to try this deli with my colleague and it ended in my stomach cramping and some other side effects. We both were really turned off by our sandwiches. I ordered the pastrami brisket, build yourself, toasted with everything except jalapeños, on a soft white roll. My colleague ordered the Hot Mess (meatball) on sourdough, toasted. They seem reasonably priced. This was to-go order, we ate at our desks at work. My friend's sandwich was not toasted and wet, huge red flag, he's ok. Mine was burnt black on the ends and had no taste outside of the mustard. The pastrami had no taste or flavor. Something just seemed off. A little over a hour later my stomach was cramping. I'm not trashing on this deli, but bring awareness, please wash hands and glove up when prepping foods. Please educate your employees. Also, chat with your purveyors about your meats or breads. If it doesn't look right, call them immediately and throw it out. Both of our sandwiches were cold, not hot and toasty. It was all very strange. I grew up making sandwiches at a very young age of 14 in a NY family deli and spent years in food service. This order was very off. For the owners, this was ordered today 12/1, if you want to have a discussion with staff that work around noon today. I see the great ratings from Yelpers. Greetings to all, today's review of the Freak sandwich and a thoughtful Salad. The service was on point and very good. The deli itself was modesty lit, with just the right amount of light . We had the Freak sandwich today which was a bit dry on one side and Happy on the other; this made for an uneven taste balance for us , besides this; the San was just ok. I just Love Georgetta or the Female worker that was working at the time, She made a Salad for me that was Outstanding, don't judge a book by its cover; this salad was on point. We were in the area and decided to try out this sandwich shop based on the reviews. We arrived around 12:15pm and the place was packed. Definitely consider ordering over the phone as it took about 30 minutes to order and get our sandwiches in person. The chip and beverage selection is incredible. Many flavors I had never seen before. For sandwiches, we ordered the Lightweight Tipsy and the Spartacus. Unfortunately when we got home, we realized that we had received a Double Trouble instead of the Spartacus. Our receipt reflected our original order, so there must have been a mixup when bagging our order. Both were good, but we were both most looking forward to a sub with Italian flavors, so the random turkey sandwich was a bit of a letdown. We live about 25 minutes away and were starving so it wasn't worth going back to correct the order. Overall the bread was good, ingredients were fresh and the sandwich was stuffed with meat and toppings. If we had received our correct order, this would be a 5 star sandwich spot. Unfortunately waiting 30 minutes to ultimately receive the wrong sandwich wasn't an ideal experience. Note: This is a small shop. Both were good, but I couldn't really taste the buffalo in the Spitfire. I thought the Hangover was more flavorful and the avocado made for a good addition to the sandwich. Overall a solid sandwich spot with good portions. I like that all their signature sandwiches are the same price and not ingredient-dependent. My friend and I were in the neighborhood and came across this Deli store in walking distance. So we decided to give it a try! It turned out that this became my top 3 sandwich places in the Bay Area! They have a wide selection of sandwiches on their menu and multiple options for bread. We had no idea what to try so simply picked the first 2 on the menu. I got the SanFranPsyco with sour dough bread. It was much better than I expected! The honey turkey was tender and juicy and balanced well with the Gouda cheese, pesto, and garlic spread. The sour dough bread was fresh and crispy. All sandwiches came with veggies but you also have the option to choose what you want to include / exclude. The portion was so large that I could only finish half of it. The shop was pretty small with only 3-4 seats next to the window. Very solid for a sandwich spot in Millbrae! It's a small shop with sandwiches toasted right to perfection. It's located in an area that's hard to find parking but it's not that bad if you can find something within the neighborhood. I ordered their SanFrancPyscho sandwich with Dutch Crunch. It had honey turkey, gouda, bacon, garlic spread, and remoulade. The sandwich was then toasted as well. That extra toasted-ness made the sandwich taste so good. I've always wanted to try The Boys' Deli because I have heard good things about the sandwiches from their location on Polk Street, but their San Bruno location is way more convenient for me. This location isn't a full on grocery store, but they got a nice variety of chips and drinks. The service is pretty friendly and this is more of a grab and go type of shop since there's only a few seats inside. I ordered for myself the SanFranPsycho Sandwich with everything on it except for pickles. The sandwiches are $16 currently which is pretty standard for any sandwich shop typically. The SanFranPsycho comes with maple honey turkey, bacon, chipotle gouda cheese, pesto & garlic butter spread. I definitely regret getting everything on it because the mustard could overpower their tasty pesto & garlic butter spread, but that's just personal preference. To be honest I don't really taste much bacon in it. The sandwich was good, but the only downside was that the Dutch crunch bread was toasted too long and quite a bit of my sandwich turned out being burnt. The toppings were all good, but that was the only con of my experience. I also think it would be great to be asked if I want the bread to be toasted how they do it by default or have it lightly toasted and I'm sure some have preferences to not even have them toasted. All in all, this was more of a 3.5 star experience, but I think this has potential to be one of the better sandwich shops in San Bruno and I have to try out the rest of their menu. The customer service is great and the ingredients are good quality. Parking situation can be a bit tough on a busy day especially once Mazra re-opens. That's when it can start to get really difficult. Regardless, I recommend giving The Boy's Deli a try at least. read more

I requested it cold, not toasted, on a sourdough roll with all toppings except jalapeños. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations, which is why I rated it one star. The bottom portion of the roll had no condiments, the bread itself was stale, and there was no lettuce included. While I did eat the filling, the bread was so dry and unappealing that I could not finish it. Sourdough rolls are my favorite, and while I know they are meant to be hard, they should never be dry or stale. My concern is that serving the sandwich hot may be intended to disguise the use of day-old bread. Overall, I left very disappointed. read more

When I asked could our food be redone because I seen what he did. He caught an attitude and told his coworkers she wants her food redone with telling them the reason.
