    Rise & Shine Burrito
    Laura L.

Outdoor seating only! That's okay though because you get a really nice view overlooking the water while you eat. Huge portions for every item. They're supposed to be known for their sandwiches but my favorite was the rise and shine breakfast burrito which had hash browns, bacon, and egg. There's a great chipotle sauce in the burrito. I also really liked my mango coconut pineapple smoothie. The sandwich for me was solid but nothing too special!

    Meatballs was gross

I really wanted to like the meatball sandwich and this place after finding it here on yelp, but it was honestly disappointing. The meatballs tasted like they came straight out of a cheap frozen bag from the grocery store. They had a weird texture and off taste with almost no seasoning or flavor at all. The sauce was bland, the sandwich itself was messy in a bad way, and nothing tasted fresh. For the price, I expected something homemade or at least decent quality. Definitely not something I'd order again. Maybe the regular sandwiches taste good.

    Chicken - Churri

Was craving a sandwich so I stopped by Gigi's Cafe after seeing her place pop up on my FYP on social media. Gigi's Cafe is located at the end of the street on Anza by Embassy suites. There's plenty of parking and an outdoor seating area if you want to have your lunch there. Gigi's Cafe is a women-owned establishment serving deli sandwiches, homemade pastries and drinks. When you walk in, it's a pretty small place with three ordering screens. The area where your food and drinks are prepared is closed off. I ordered the Chicken-Churri sandwich which had breaded chicken, arugula, provolone cheese, tomatoes, thin sliced red onions, mayo and a chimichurri sauce. And an everything but the kitchen sink cookie. The sandwich was a decent size and so well neatly prepared and packaged. Very impressive. The breaded chicken was cooked nicely and not dry at all. The chimichurri sauce reminded me like a lighter version of pesto but in a good way. The flavors blended well together and the sandwich was so filling. The everything but the kitchen sink cookie was good. It was soft and not overly sweet. What I also really appreciate about this place is the amount of love and care that goes into everything they do. You can truly feel it in the atmosphere. One detail that especially stood out to me, and makes me want to keep coming back, is an option on the ordering kiosk called "Gigi's Lunches with Love." It's reserved for people who may not know when their next meal will be. With everything going on in the world, it's refreshing to see a place that leads with kindness and compassion. It's a very touching and heartwarming gesture. Definitely go and support this place. There's so many good options to choose from. Truly a hidden gem.

    Make your own turkey sandwich

Came here before and I'm glad to see that it is still popular! Their sandwiches are simple, yet special at the same time. While their specialty sandwiches are out of this world, I opted to make my own sandwich. I got cold turkey sandwich with lettuce, onion, light mayo, cucumber. While it seems light, it was pretty delicious! No thrills, just a basic sandwich and they perfected it! The turkey is light and not dry at all. It was still moist even hours later. Sometimes people do too much mayo and I asked for light mayo and they did it just right. The sandwich was a great size! I didn't feel stuffed afterwards. The sandwich was made to go and it was packaged well! Definitely try this place out if you haven't already.

We got the biggest breakfast burritos ever here. The flavors were creative and delicious, and the difference in textures inside were spot on. Very reasonably priced for the size and it too me a few sittings to finish it! Seating is outside so come on a nice day or chow down in your car.

    Hot Gurl Chicken Sandwich
    Katyayini K.

The sandwiches are made to order - so there's a short wait time. They have soo many options to choose from! The hot gurl sandwich was amazing - crunchy chicken, saucy salad, fresh veggies and a good ole Dutch crunch. Note that there's no indoor seating, so if the weather is not to your liking, it would be best to take it home.

    How about a Knuckle Sammich?!
    I'm B.

Tucked away at the last building off Anza in Burlingame, is this tiny sandwich spot that is hella dope, fresh, slammin, bussin etc. Fully customizable sandwiches came out quick, hot and fresh. Gluten free and vegetable options to boot. I got the Knuckle sandwich and switched to a soft roll cuz my gums can't deal with Dutch crunch - I ain't got time to bleed especially on this humongous sandwich! Took out the bell peppers but added lettuce, tomato and jalapeños instead (gratis). This thing even had chips inside...if you're into that kind of thing. Overall experience? Most def goin back! Gigi's is on point!

Food - Large sandwiches! - Almost, too big? - Grilled cheese - I added veggies but didn't need all that - Generous on meats and veggies overall Service - You go up to a kiosk and order at the screen - If you scream "hello?" someone can come help you (they gave us recommendations on what's most popular) Location - Yes parking - Outdoor seating only with umbrellas Overall - Pretty easy - Pretty fast - Pretty full

Wow! Talk about a hidden gem. I read online that their wagyu corned beef sandwich had been so beloved that it sold out. So we went today to check out this choice sandwich! My husband said it was perfectly crunchy and hit all the right spots but that the corned beef alone is a bit salty. My turkey chipotle sandwich was thicker than my forearm and the lettuce and chipotle sauce was practically falling out the sides - 10/10 sandwich for me. We could both only finished half our sandwiches (they were that huge!) The thai tea and ube coffee perfectly went with the sandwiches, though the ube coffee lacked ube flavor. It is only counter service inside so there is only patio seating outdoors. Their sign noted there is no public bathroom on Saturdays so keep that in mind. 10/10 will return to try other sandwiches!!

This was a true hidden gem in an area I typically stay. Gonna come back and try some other options. I went with Turkey and Salami on the Dutch Crunch Roll. My buddy had the meatball sub. It was nothing to crazy, but the simple things matter, and this was simply delicious.

Gigi's makes seriously good sandwiches! Fast & friendly service, and easy parking. Great cookies too!

Hot Gurl chicken. Massive portion, but the chicken is soft as opposed to crispy. $16.50.

Boy, oh boy! Come hungry, since the portion sizes are gargantuan (will feed a small army). I tried a few different sandwiches: breakfast sausage on crossiant, Hot Gurl chicken, & Captain Hook. I also tried their Vietnamese coffee and chocolate chip cookie. Overall, I felt that everything was exceptional value. They really pack these sandwiches to the brim, and don't overcharge in a time where it feels like a lot of the competition is skimping... The breakfast sandwich was a highlight. All the ingredients were super fresh, and I appreciated the multitude of customization options (especially adding veggies to the egg!). You basically get a small omelette within the sandwich for free. I added avocado and bacon, and all-in this came to $16.99 before tax, which I felt was super reasonable considering when they handed me the container, the thing had the weight of a brick. I'd return for the breakfast sandwich alone! The Hot Gurl was good, but my one gripe with the chicken was that it was soft, as opposed to crispy. I think this is just the cooking technique they decided to use, as the chicken was still fresh, but I think this sandwich would really "pop" with the extra bite of crispy chicken. Again, it was full to the brim. $16.50. Captain Hook is fried crab cakes, potato chips, and arugula (along with some spices and spreads). I am not usually a crab person, but this was tasty and not "fishy" at all. I appreciated that the chips were not stale. $19.50. The Vietnamese coffee was just ok. Not sure what I was expecting from a non-Vietnamese restaurant, but this is the only time I felt was a tad overpriced at $6.95 for a 12-oz pour. Would skip next time. The cookie was good, but also a touch pricey at $3.50. Would only get that if I am craving something sweet next time. All in all, Gigi's is a fresh, tasty, and extremely reasonable sandwich shop in an obscure corner near the airport. I will definitely return if I am in the area, though I wouldn't recommend a special trip.

5 stars! Not surprised this place was voted in the Top 100 best sandwiches in the bay. Found this place through Yelp, (as usual) and did not disappoint. Somewhat confused finding it since it's hidden in an office building, but once you see the red sign, you'll know you're there. Ordered the Hot Gurl Chicken sandwich and will probably come back to order it again. It had spicy breaded chicken, tomatoes, onions, arugula, bacon, and their house-made sweet and spicy habanero jam. Not too spicy, but enough to give you a kick Sandwiches are FAT ASF!! One half was already filling and had to save the rest. There's only outdoor seating, but definitely a nice, quiet area and even better on a sunny day.

Build your own deli Roasted Turkey, Swiss, Light Mayo and Mustard, Bacon, Lettuce, and Pickles on Dutch Crunch. Very good 10/10.
