Taste and Glory is one of those brunch spots that lives up to the hype. The menu puts a creative Asian fusion twist on classic breakfast favorites, and the result is both unique and incredibly satisfying. Every dish looked as good as it tasted. The flavors were fresh, well-balanced, and thoughtfully executed without feeling overdone. You can tell the kitchen pays attention to the details, from the beautifully plated entrées to the perfectly cooked eggs and crispy, well-seasoned sides. The fusion elements add just enough creativity while still letting the comfort of brunch shine through. The drinks were equally impressive, especially the specialty lattes and refreshing house beverages that paired perfectly with the meal. It's the kind of place where you'll find yourself eyeing neighboring tables and already planning what to order on your next visit. Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Even with a busy dining room, the staff kept everything running smoothly and made sure guests felt taken care of.
Came on a Friday afternoon. Waited 5-10 min. Not long. Ordering was quick. Got their chicken croffle, Tom yum scramble and an ube latte Honestly left a tad disappointed. For the chicken croffle. You do lose all the flakiness of the croissant. The chicken was good. The Tom yum scramble. The Tom yum sauce doesn't work well with the. Other flavors. Wish the croissant was toasted. The ube latte was good. Not too sweet.
We saw that Taste & Glory had a lot of hype and mentions of long lines, but we thankfully got lucky one day and got in with 0 wait. Cute and quaint cafe in San Mateo with unique offerings. The thai tea french toast immediately caught my eye because I love thai tea and anything thai flavored in general. While it is presented beautifully, the flavor itself fell flat for me. Thai tea is known to have bold flavor and a strong tea taste. This was really lacking that. My partner got the chicken croffle and he loved it. I tried it and it is definitely something I'd order too! Chicken was nice and crispy and the croffles weren't dry or soggy, but the perfect in between. We liked that it came with both a savory sauce and syrup. I'd definitely return to try other things sometime.

We walked in on a Saturday - right before the line got super long - and waited for 10 minutes. Staff greeted us and took our orders right away. The tables were really close together so it was a bit harder to maneuver around. It was easy for someone to bump into the table when passing by. For drinks we got the blue butterfly - which is on the sweeter side. We also got the iced biscoff latte but a bit disappointing. It wasn't sweet enough and you couldn't really taste the coffee. We really enjoyed our dishes - carbonara udon, crispy honey chicken Benedict and the ube pancakes. The carbonara udon was on par with the one we had in Japan. The chicken Benedict was full of flavor and the eggs were cooked to perfection. I've had better ube pancakes in the peninsula but they still tasted good!
The food is rounded up to four stars. I liked the carbonara udon. I don't think an omelette here though for example would be worth braving the line (yes, even on a weekday there was a line) and parking situation. If you see no line and you find a parking spot, it's a cute brunch place; otherwise it's not worth it because you do feel a bit rushed even if you get in (not from staff necessarily but just seeing the crowd). There are more brunch options downtown now though (Johnnys, whispers) so maybe things eased up.

Great first experience! Very cute place with great food. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Good came out pretty quick too. I ordered the Crème Brûlée French Toast and O.M.G it was SO good. It legitimately tastes like crème brûlée. Even the top of the French toast was crunchy and sugary. I also ordered the iced Ube which was so tasty! Not too sweet and it had chunks of Ube in it. Yummy!! I left very happy and satisfied. Definitely look forward to coming back.
Cute, modern, and cozy brunch spot. My friend and I came here at around 1pm on a Saturday. There were 3 parties ahead of us when we arrived, so we waited about 10-15 minutes before being seated. It took some time for our food to come out after ordering. I ordered the Crispy Honey Chicken Benedict. I really enjoyed this dish. The potatoes were perfectly bite-sized, crispy, and seasoned. The poached eggs and chicken were a good combo. Whenever I order an eggs benedict, I'm only able to finish half and have to box up the other half. However, I was able to finish 98% of this dish. It could be I was super hungry this day or the flavors and portion were just right for me. Anyways, that's just to say it was good.

Thankfully, we were still seated within about 15 minutes. I really enjoyed the Tom Yum Scramble served inside a croissant. The croissant itself was a bit disappointing, slightly stale and reminiscent of a Costco croissant but the tom yum scramble was absolutely delicious and flavorful enough to make up for it. The Thai Tea French Toast was nicely balanced and not overly sweet, though I would've liked a bit more texture and crunch. As for the drinks, I'd probably skip them next time. Both the ube latte and matcha latte tasted a little artificial, and I've definitely had better versions at other brunch spots. Overall, I enjoyed the food and appreciated how attentive the service was.

Glad I finally tried this spot for brunch! I've driven past and always see a line but it moves faster than expected. Ordered the fried chicken benedict and basil ribeye, both were good. Servers were very attentive and quick. -chicken benedict (5/5): chicken was crispy and juicy, it was fried well and not greasy at all. I really liked this dish and would recommend. -basil ribeye (4.5/5): steak was tasty and flavorful! but I think I'd opt for something lighter next time for brunch
A solid brunch spot with a wide variety of options. We visited as a party of three on a Monday around 10am and were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately. The menu offers a great mix of both sweet and savory dishes. That said, they were unfortunately out of chicken and patties during our visit, which limited some of the savory choices. I ordered the Thai tea French toast and really enjoyed the unique flavor. My friends had the chipotle Benedict and steak & eggs, both of which they liked. Service was relatively quick and efficient. Overall, a great experience with just a minor hiccup on menu availability. I'd definitely come back to try more items!

First off, this is probably one of the cuter breakfast spots! I love their decor and how cozy it feels. Second, the food selection is great! We ended ordering the chicken and waffles, a specialty pancake, and sweet potato tots, which were my favorite! I highly recommend ordering a side of the tots. Third, service was on par. The servers were attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of. We've been here 3 times now, and all 3 times we've had a great experience! Will definitely be coming back when we're in the area. read more

Bomb. I love these Asian fusion brunch spots. A lot of em have been poppin up tho. This spot was really good. Be sure to get there early if coming on a weekend to avoid the line. Food: Tomyum scramble - good but not enough Tom yum flavor. The dish was solid but nowhere near as good as the other dishes I'll be mentioning Basil ribeye- omg I thought this dish was gonna be basic. I had a feeling it would prob be a solid choice but basic cause the ingredients are just flavors I already know... But honestly this dish was so good I gotta recommend Creme brulee French toast- solid French toast choice. Was very tasty. Next time I'll try the Thai tea one Chicken croffle- another omg score. I've had croffles before but this one was one of the best. The croissant flakiness and texture was still there even tho it had been pressed into a waffle. I've had others where it lost that flakiness croissant texture. The chicken was so good as well. Juicy dark meat it was really good. Overall, very good brunch spot. Came here on a weekday for lunch and it was quite busy but I was still able to get seated swiftly at the last available table. Servers were all pleasant and got my mother and I's order out in a reasonable time. Chicken and waffles (5/5) the chicken was well seasoned and perfectly fried! The waffles paired well with the syrups on the side. Carbonara Udon (4/5) the udon was perfectly cooked and the richness of the sauce stuck to the noodles. Really good spot to get brunch and I can't wait to try their other brunch items. read more

Ambiance: The place is very brightly lit with both tables and semi table booth sitting. The tables are relatively close to each other so there is not a bunch of privacy as well as can be harder to seat larger parties of greater than 4. Wait time: The wait time was between 15-20 minutes for a party of two around lunch but expect longer waits for bigger parties. They seat first come first served and they only sit if the entire party has arrived and is waiting. Service: Staff is very friendly and informative to their customers. Drinks were filled regularly without being overbearing. Food: The drinks were both very good with the matcha having a strong flavor and was sweetened with what looked like granular sugar. They have condiments already on the table with water served to everyone upon sitting down. Tom Yum Scramble had a good flavor to it with the tomatoes cutting through the richness of the cheese and the dungeness crab tasting fresh. Salad had small tomatoes added into it and garnished with a fruit slice on the side. read more

Really yummy brunch with the best chicken and croffle plate we've tried yet. The chicken was super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We also loved the other two dishes we tried for their unique flavors and textures. What a wonderful brunch find! read more
We ordered to go by phone and had no issues. Didn't have to battle the crazy long weekend brunch line! Got a mascarpone pancake and a chicken croffle. Pancakes 4/5 Solid tasting pancakes. Went well with syrup and the fruit compote. Love that they give so many fresh fruits with it too. Fried chicken croffle 4/5 fried chicken was juicy and tasty and seasoned well. Croffle probably would've been better there. Got a little too hard as I was eating it since it was to go but the croffle was buttery and delicious. Overall, I will be back not sure I'm willing to brave the weekend rush though!! read more
Deliciousness. Be prepared to wait though. When we arrived there was a line out the door. However, it was jut two of us so we got lucky and got seated ahead of the larger groups, within about 20 mins. I'll also add that it's a bit cramped in there...at least for me. The service was quick! I had the crème brûlée French toast. I went a fan..it was too pudding like in the middle. The flavor was there but the texture just wasn't for me. The chicken and waffles were delicious! Highly recommend. I also had a chai latte and I'm not sure what she had, lol. But everything wa really good! read more
Taste and Glory is easily one of those places that never disappoints. Their service is always top notch, the staff is attentive, friendly, and makes you feel genuinely welcomed every time you visit. It really elevates the whole dining experience. The interior is also incredibly cute and cozy, with a warm atmosphere that makes it a great spot whether you're going for a casual meal or something a little more special. Most importantly, the food is always delicious. We've tried at least six different dishes so far, and every single one has been amazing in its own way. It's clear that they put a lot of care into both the flavors and presentation. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to and recommending to others! read more

Instagram-worthy food to be had here. Love the Steak & Eggs. The thin cut of steak is not something we normally find at supermarkets. It is the first time I have over-easy eggs with steak... I had no idea they go so well together. Chicken Croffle was quite good. Love that they paired it with sauce, Biscoff crumbs, and berries. I love the marinade for the chicken, but the batter is a bit crusty. The Croffle is so tough that it is hard to cut with a butter knife. I enjoyed the hot Ube Latte. Love that it comes with whipped cream and birthday sprinkles. The decor is not as comfy in person, but love their picture-perfect food and pairings. read more
An amazing place for brunch. Crowded even on a Monday morning! A cool variety of Asian fusion dishes. I was recommended to have the Chicken Croffle for the sweet and savory. Omg. It was huge! The chicken was so moist (love the sweet chili sauce) and the waffle was a perfect mix. My friend has an omelette but I was too busy ogling over my waffle to take a photo of anything else. Reservations are only during non-busy times. I need to go back and try other dishes. In the meantime, I have leftover Chicken Croffle for breakfast today. read more

My wife had walked by around 9:45am and there wasn't a line, it was quiet. We looked at making a reservation but the booking page would only allow reservations to be made for groups of 5 or more. We got the Croffle (chicken + croissant pressed Belgian waffle style) and the Tom Yum Scramble. Croffle Chicken: it has biscoff crumbles + berries as a plate finish! The maple syrup was decent The other sauce seemed like a clever sweet and sour/creamy sauce variation The Croffle is basically a croissant that is Belgian waffle pressed Tom Yum Scramble: pricey because it has crab and it is a signature dish Worth trying Definitely share size Tips: -This is PLENTY of food for 2 people. Plenty to share in both dishes. -order the croissant for the scramble on the side unless you don't mind it being a bit wet from the scramble. 4 stars because we had dirty silverware and they offer those "no refrigeration needed" coffee creamers. This is a very popular brunch spot and it always has a line, so prepare for that when you visit. We got there at opening on a Sunday and were seated right away. The interior is very modern and chic. The staff is friendly. Other than a few signature dishes like the tom yum scramble or the Thai tea French toast, it is pretty standard brunch fare on the menu. The food is unfortunately pretty subpar, especially for the prices they're charging. If you are a breakfast/brunch spot, your coffee better be on point. Theirs is really awful. Like McDonald's at 4p after it sat there since breakfast bad. This is unforgivable in my book. Hot drinks are made from a microwave or a tea kettle and all powders. Food presentation was nice and it came out fairly quickly. Taste was pretty underwhelming. Pieces of every dish were great but none of them were solid all around. The toppings on the croffle and French toast were good but the croffle had a weird taste and the French toast was tough. Other than the hype and the decor, I just don't get it. There are so many amazing brunch places right in that area that are easy to get into. Fun to try something new but we won't be back. read more

We had an office holiday brunch here. I made reservations for 6 on. Friday and everything went smoothly. It was a little hard to understand some staff but not a lot of trouble. The interior of this restaurant does not match the exterior at all -- so don't judge a book by its cover. Check out the video I posted for everything we ordered. The popular dishes: Tom Yum Scramble $28 and Chicken Croffle $21 did not disappoint, although the scramble is a bit steep in price. I came here on a Monday afternoon with my parents. I found it interesting that there wasn't a waitlist to write your name, rather a "get in line" type style. Thankfully, it wasn't overly crowded that afternoon because I can see it getting chaotic, especially on the weekends. The restaurant itself is super clean, bright, and well lit. I really appreciate the decor too. There's some popmart figurines on one of their shelves. We ordered 3 items: 1. Steak and eggs: 5/5. It was really well cooked and not dry at all. I was super impressed that they used ribeye steak as most places use a different cut. The mushrooms and onions on top made the dish super flavorful! The potato were also really fresh and crisp, without being too salty. 2. Chicken croffle: 5/5. This is my go-to order here! I love a croffle topped with a crispy fried chicken. The chicken was fried really well and I liked the Thai style sauce served with it. 3. Tom Yum Scramble 4/5. It was flavorful but a little salty, which is why I had to ding one star. The amount of food inside the croissant was pretty decent inside! Overall, everything was delicious!! This is one of my go-to brunch spots in San Mateo!! read more

I've had Taste and Glory on the radar for quite some time but have procrastinated with the thought of waiting in line. My friend was adamant about trying this place. So yes, I was willing to do the line and take one for the team! Honestly, it wasn't that bad. We arrived an hour after they opened and were in the back of the line, but somehow didn't wait more than 10 minutes. It was a lucky day that we were the only party of two in line at the time. We were seated in the corner table which was really nice to be able to talk and hear each other. This place is quite vibrant and exudes a fun, brunch energy. The mimosas are clearly flowing! We enjoyed a carafe of the pineapple mimosa. The service here is impeccable and attentive. The dishes are cranked out quickly also! Both of us ordered steak dishes plus the sweet potato tater tots (which were too much), but everything can be taken home. The steak and eggs is just that- simple goodness and nothing else other than the side of tasty potatoes. His side of avocado came out fanned and fancy. My basil rib eye with peppers hit the spot. It was a memorable dish and one I must return to feast on again! There's so many interesting things on the menu, I will be compelled to deviate and try something new like the culinary explorer I am! I will absolutely return to Taste and Glory and probably take a mimosa from home in my tumbler again to enjoy while chilling in the line. The fun starts in line that way! read more
Tom yum scramble was sour (in a good way), umami (perhaps some fish sauce), and filling. Big servings are ++ Thai tea French toast was underwhelming. The toast itself tasted like a normal French toast and the only thing Thai tea about it was the sauce that was a bit weak. I tasted the Oreos more than the Thai tea. I'd want more of a Thai tea hit. Tried the chicken croffle, which was juicy and well seasoned. The sour, sweet sauce it comes with is a perfect accompaniment. Walk-ins only and first come first serve. Busy place, so seating can take a while. Service is good considering how busy this place can get. Spacious and clean atmosphere with a lot of light. read more

I had to come back here for brunch. When I'm in the area, the tom yum scramble is all I can think about. I want to try other menu items but I don't know what could beat this. The tom yum isn't too overpowering that you can't taste the crab or egg. The croissant isn't oily enough to make you want to knock out later. We were seated even though we walked in 30 mins before closing time. Don't like being those people but we made sure to savor every bite as we were trying to rush out too. The place is always bright and IG worthy but I'm more focused on the food to take photos of their walls. read more

I came here for brunch with a friend, fully prepared for a wait--and yes, the line was extremely long. That said, it moved surprisingly quickly, which immediately set a good tone for the experience. Once we were seated, the service really stood out. Everyone was friendly and very attentive without ever making us feel rushed, which is exactly what you want during a relaxed brunch. It struck a great balance between being on top of things and letting us enjoy our time. We decided to split our orders so we could try more. I had the chicken and waffles, while my friend ordered the Norwegian eggs Benedict, and both were extremely delicious. Everything came out hot and well-executed, and we were genuinely impressed by how satisfying the meal was overall. It's the kind of food that makes the wait feel completely worth it. The vibe felt fun and lively, making it a great spot to catch up with friends over brunch. Despite the crowds, it never felt chaotic. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally stopped by when I was in the area. The interior is very photogenic, with warm wood-grain surfaces and thoughtfully curated decor. The food is just as camera-ready. Your phone will be feasting before you do. Service was fast, friendly, and polite, and the overall vibe felt light, modern, and fresh. We ordered the Chicken Croffle and the Tom Yum scramble. The Chicken Croffle (a croissant pressed like a waffle) was beautifully plated with Biscoff crumbles and fruit. It tasted fine, but I was hoping the flavors would live up to the presentation. There's a Thai chili aioli on the plate, but it didn't quite work for me here.. though I can imagine it being incredible with fries. I appreciate the boldness of combining Tom Yum flavors with an egg scramble. There are some great ideas at play, but personally, the flavors didn't fully come together. The Tom Yum was quite heavy, which threw off the balance and clashed with the buttery croissant. That said, the portion of crab was generous and appreciated. Overall, I'd give this place a 3.5/5. 3.5 star. My friends and I came in on a Thursday morning for lunch and were sat pretty quickly. It was fairly busy. Atmosphere here is really nice--I especially love the lighting here as it feels very homey and calm. Noise level was appropriate. We ordered Chicken Croffle, Tom Yum Scramble, and Norwegian. - Chicken Croffle was my favorite. The chicken was not very dry and waffle was good. - Tom Yum Scramble was good. The hint of tom yum was enough, not too overpowering. - Norwegian was hard to eat for me. I'm quite a picky eater so the smell of an ingredient in this dish made me think of toothpaste...I just couldn't it eat, not for me but my friends said it was alright. This is a popular place sometimes with a line outside the restaurant. They will not seat you until your entire party is present. There is a sign that forewarns you about that. It's bright with a large window so you can see how crowded it is (and potentially how long your wait will be if you are not early). If the restaurant is full, service might be impacted though the staff is friendly and do try their best to serve you. I like that kids are served cups of water with straw and lid to avoid spillage. This is an asian fusion restaurant serving mostly breakfast and lunch meals. One of their specialty is the croffle, a croissant waffle which is fluffy, very tasty and comes with a berry sauce. I had the sauce on the side because otherwise it can drown the croffle (I learned it the hard way.). The chicken croffle is a favorite (forgot to take a picture of it). The chicken is crispy on the outside and so flavorful and the kids like the croffle. Both the omelette and the eggs benedict were great. You really can't go wrong with anything you select. There is street parking in front of the restaurant and additional parking behind the restaurant. read more

Not really. They're usually packed and can get quite loud with a full house. Really good food to fuel up for studying though!
