So Friendly and welcoming and offering to help! This place is bigger inside than I thought, looking from outside Lots of selection for meat. Japan A5 wagyu is $70 per lb! Lots of wine and liquor too. Also has special events, check flyers near door What a cool place

Wine tasting

Fun meat shop with time to chill while scoping for the proper meat. LOL. Great selection of meats and wine. Chilling on a leisure Saturday afternoon with GF after lunch with a glass of wine or two in a meat market. What a great concept. Not only do they have great meat, they have ample selection of wines, liquors, and meat. One shop does all.

Best PATTIES ever

I should have asked what's in the meat blend for their burger patties because it was the best patties my wife, friends and I ever had this weekend. I made a fairly straightforward burger but the patty was the clear winner in terms of flavor & quality. Their baby backs are nothing short of spectacular and that was a hit too. I'm so thankful to have a butcher shop like Pape so nearby! Edit: I just ate a 'special' sausage (likely pork) and it's one of the best sausages I've had. Incredibly juicy and flavorful without being overly salty or over seasoned. A quick boil and pan-fry method did the trick.

Went ahead and grabbed a roast for Christmas Eve dinner, did not disappoint! Looking forward to keeping the tradition going even further into the future.

I have been going to Pape meat for a couple of years now. I usually grab chicken from there, probably the best place to grab chicken or beef (and possibly some seafood). They can always debone any of the meat. Service is always friendly and quick there. Usually there are lines to get beef, especially around holidays but chicken side is usually quick :) They even have beef fat and duck fat there

Yes

How can I order fresh pig knuckles cured in kosher salt and pink curing salt? I'm trying to make Berliner Eisbine and can't do the curing myself as I don't know how to safely do this.

How much per lb and what kind of A5 wagyu do you carry?

Ribeye, New York, rib cap, tenderloin and short rib are the regulars. They range from $69-$109. We occasionally bring in other off cuts. Miyazaki, Kagoshima and Hokkaido are the main regions we source from

Do i need to reserve a brisket (10-12 lbs)?

It’s always a good idea to reserve in advance but we generally have commodity and domestic wagyu on hand.

Do you have premarinated prime rib for purchase?

Yes. We will happily season to order for you

Do you offer beef Wellington?

We offer the center cut tenderloin but not the completed Wellington

Do you still have Tomahawk porkchop? Available everyday?

Unfortunately no. We have the same chop just without the long bone

Do you have turkey tails?

We do not. I don’t have any recommendations for alternate businesses either. I’m sorry. We do generate a decent amount of tails off our cooked turkeys during the week of thanksgiving if that helps

Hey there! Do you happen to post your inventory online? I don't see a website link or menu, but do you happen to post it on social media or other platforms?…

Towne.io has most Pape Meat items posted on their site so you can order online and get everything delivered free (along with anything else you order on the site from their other local merchant-partners). It's a big time-saver!… Read more

They have the sides of beef and can cut a steak any size you like, extra thiccccccc or thin.

Will they accept EBT card for pay?

We are not currently set up for EBT cards.

Are we suppose to tip the butchers?

You can but it is not expected. We are paid to be here and love what we do. That is generally enough compensation. Thank you for being a customer!

How long should I bake the lamb chops?

Using a digital instant-read meat thermometer, check the temperature of chops while on the grill. The chops are rare at 120°F, medium rare at 125°F, medium at 130°F, and well done at 145°F and higher. Lamb can take on a gamey flavor when cooked past… Read more

Pape generally has some dry aged beef on hand, usually 21 or 28 days. You can order a whole subprimal (think a 22lb ribeye) and they will dry age it as long as you like.

What's in your rack of lamb rub?

Some good s``t

How do I order shabu style meats? Do I call you ahead of time? Or is there another way to reach you since no one answers the phone?

It was a buffet luncheon of prime rib, salmon, rigatoni pasta, vegetable medley and a cake dessert which the club provided. There was one tray of each food therefore we were limited to one piece or scoop to each person. The food was a little chintzy as it was half a slice of prime rib and small chunks of salmon. We were able to offer a second helping of rigatoni and prime rib. The prime rib was A little fatty but was tender. I enjoyed The salmon even thought it was small and not overcooked. I think the restaurant could have made up for this if they added bread and butter and perhaps a salad. We were able to stay, mingle and dance in that private room for the entire afternoon which was an added bonus. Everyone had a good time and the staff cut and plated the cake for all. The room for pretty heated even when the windows were open even with the four ceiling fans running. Otherwise, everyone had a fun afternoon. Thank you sixteen mile house!

Service was very good. Staff is always pleasant, polite and helpful. Lol, I think I wasn't quite sure about my sandwich when I was talking to the manager but it was wonderful. I think if the price were just a little cheaper, this would definitely be a 5- star experience for me. It's definitely a 4.5 experience. Our experience at Sixteen Mile House was pleasant and will return again so hopefully update to a 5 star with other dishes to try!

Overall: 4/5 Ordered the kalua pork plate and a side of fries. The fries were thick cut seasoned with furikake. Excellent crunch and good flavor but thicker cut fries are just not my preference. Kalua pork was plate was good. Very large portions with a ton of pork. Pork had good flavor and wasn't dry like kalua pork can get sometimes. Cabbage was fine and Mac salad was good, very mayo heavy. A bit too wet for my personal taste. Will definitely come back to try the other plates, and shave ice. Would also love to try their musubis, but they were sold out for the most part by the time we showed up.

Today I saw it and was like f it, let's give it another go. Man, I was so wrong for so long. This place is legit. When you enter it feels like you're in Hawaii. Not kitschy Hawaii, local Hawaii. Then you get to the food. The garlic shrimp was excellent. Had a ton of garlic and butter. The Kalua pork was tasty and the Michiko chicken was to die for. But you know what was the best? The Poke. Man I haven't had poke this good in the mainland before. Their Hawaiian Ahi Poke had Limu/Ogo, onions, green onions and just tasted as if I was back in Oahu. Man it was better than some of the poke I had in Kauai. It was damned good. I will def be back. But next time it'll be to try all the different types of poke, because I'm in love.

Though they sell it in blocks of ribeye, filet mignon, NY Strip (drop those drawers NY babee~) etc., call Mark and he can tell you what retail outlets are having a special on cut pieces. Purveyor to some of the finest Yelp reviewed dining establishments, this is the way to get a 10 pound block, with documentation and certificate giving all the particulars of that block of fresh Wagyu. Friends, myself, the non-profit I invest time with have all had the Trex Miyazaki Wagyu and to a T have all pronounced it a most special experience in beef. Last time I cooked up some, Mark advised that I cut it into big pieces, simply sea salt and fresh ground pepper season, sear (do not use any oil) in a VERY hot cast iron pan, cut into bite size pieces with simple dipping sauces. Or tartare, nigiri style, a little bit goes a long way. Regaled of tales of visits to Miyazaki to visit the meat in motion, steers are comfortably two to a corral, daily beers, massage and happy cows make incredibly marbled steaks. Kind of like "uni," where you can't harvest it if the sea was rough within the last 3 days, taste affected, the contention is Wagyu Beef is best from hecka happy steers. Trex also offers every other type of beef, Angus, etc. but this is about the finest beef in the world, and you're getting it for wholesale. Mark is also an avid supporter of a number of non-profits that I know of, so all the more reason to support this proprietor. A5 rated and with reports of some Wagyu/Kobe beef having bogus documentation, Trex and Mark at Trex will make sure you're getting the real thing ... and how sweet it is ... actually beefy but I was being analogous. A typical 10 lb. block will run you about $600 and worth every penny... Mark's associate Koh is also the purveyor of the only (imagine Tiffany or just look at my pic) Blue Champagne in the world. All natural and "methode champagne" so look for that when it's introduced sometime this year in the States. It was already introduced in Tokyo I believe. "Something Blue ... In your magic moments." It says that on the label in back. It's true. Ah, the aroma of seared Wagyu beef ... almost makes me want to put a finger in the oils left in the cast iron pan and dab it behind my ears ...
