    Guihua Oat Latte

1st time trying this unique cafe in Burlingame. Had a delicious Guihua Oat Latte (osmanthus tea syrup) which you can get hot or iced and with coffee or matcha. Contemporary interior with only some seating in the front, but they also have a back patio with more seating. Very clean bathroom which is always a plus. Good amount of metered parking nearby and around the corner. Would definitely stop by again to try more of their contemporary drinks.

Coffee and Hokkaido cheesecake were the highlights here! Loved how solid the pistachio einspanner was, and the guihua oat milk latte was also stellar.

So glad we decided to try good thing coffee! The pistachio esp was absolutely delicious but $9 is a bit steep. Our order came out fast on a busy Sat afternoon. The cafe itself was a bit small and cramped but it looked like there might have been some seating outside.

Tried Goodthing Coffee and it was better than expected! I got the Urban Angel, and the pistachio cream topping was so good I honestly wish there had been more of it. The matcha was a bit lighter than I usually prefer, but still smooth and easy to sip alongside a cake. I initially thought the $12 tiramisu slice looked small, but it turned out to be pretty tasty and the perfect snack-sized treat that's just enough to satisfy without overdoing it. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when in the neighborhood, especially to explore more of their drinks and cakes!

I love the vibe of this place! The music was so good (early 2000s R&B in the morning? Yes please) and the whole shop smelled amazing from all the sweet treats they had. I didn't get to try any of it this time because I was saving my appetite for lunch, but I'll definitely be back for them. We came around 9 AM on a Saturday and were greeted right away. Our drinks also came out really quickly. I ordered the matcha latte which was decent and my husband got the pistachio einspanner - that one was fire. There's some seating inside, plus a little area in the back that's super cute and quaint. Overall, it's a really solid coffee spot with immaculate vibes. I'll definitely be coming back!

Really liked this cute cafe - it's located in the Downtown Burlingame area, so parking might be challenging, but there's a lot of public parking lots available with a short walk away. There's a limited number of seats inside, but they also have a small outdoor patio as well. Good place to hang out and chill if you're able to grab a seat. I ordered the Gui Hua Oat Latte, since that sounded pretty unique. There was other drinks that I was interested in trying like some of the matcha drinks, but I rarely see an osmanthus-inspired drink at coffee shops. It is made already with oat milk, so I didn't have to ask for any milk substitutions. I thought it was pretty good in terms of a latte, however, I wish the osmanthus flavor was a little stronger. The barista mentioned that the latte would have more of a floral taste, but it felt pretty faint. Cost was pretty similar to other coffee shops in the area, since it was $8-9 for my drink with oat milk already included. Other than that, would come back if I'm ever back in the area. I like the cozy vibes and fun drinks that they have!

I am absolutely obsessed with goodthing coffee!! Specially their pistachio cream. It's sweet, thick, and nutty. I have never had anything like goodthing's pistachio cream elsewhere. You have to try either their pistachio einspanner latte or urban angel if you are here. The urban angel is their version of a matcha pistachio einspanner. Service is always great and the staff is super friendly! There's some seating inside the store and outside their patio space. Bathroom available for customers too.

I liked this spot. I wish the service was slightly faster and better seating but the matcha was good. This pistachio drink looked really interesting, I'd love to try that next time. This is right near the Compass office so I'll be back.

Stopped by Goodthing Coffee in Burlingame. Such an aesthetic spot, with cozy indoor and outdoor seating that's perfect for catching with friends. No line and super friendly customer service. We ordered Urban Angel Pistachio Matcha and the Strawberry Fields Matcha.

I recently stopped by Goodthing Coffee in Burlingame and ordered the Urban Angel, their pistachio matcha, and honestly the pistachio top deserves its own moment. It's incredibly creamy and easily one of the best pistachio foams I've had. You can really taste the quality, and it pairs beautifully with the matcha. I got it with oat milk, which worked well and didn't overpower the flavors. The space itself is very small but charming, tucked right off Burlingame Ave. It's easy to miss if you're not paying attention, but once you spot it, parking in the area is surprisingly easy. This visit definitely felt like a redemption compared to my first time here. On my previous visit, they didn't have what I wanted to order, and the experience felt a bit underwhelming. This time around was much smoother, and the drink itself really delivered. That said, I'm taking one star off purely for the price. It's very steep for the portion size. The cup is quite small for what you're paying. While I do think the quality justifies the cost to an extent, it still feels a little hard to swallow given how quickly the drink is gone. Overall, if you're a matcha or pistachio lover, this is definitely worth trying at least once. High quality, thoughtfully made drinks, just be prepared for the premium price tag.

As an eternally caffeinated individual, I'm always looking to scope out new coffee spots. And while I was sad to see Cafe Siete close, I have had very good experiences so far at Goodthing Coffee! Walking in, you're greeted with a welcoming, cozy atmosphere. You'll see people working on laptops, chatting amongst friends, and overall enjoying themselves in the laid back environment. While there isn't a ton of seating inside, there is also a small outdoor seating area for more options if you're looking to spend some time here. I've tried a few different drinks here and have enjoyed them all! Particular favorites of mine have included the Pistachio Einspanner and their matcha latte. But all their drinks are lovingly crafted - balanced, and rich with flavor. They also have a good variety of rotating drip coffees with unique flavor profiles that are usually quite tasty and fun to experiment with as well. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming, and really contribute to the home-y atmosphere. My biggest issue is that the prices can be a bit tough to swallow... up to $10+ for a drip coffee and $7 for a small standard latte is a bit steep (although I suppose to be fair, it's not too far out of bounds from other cafes in the area). Overall, I really enjoy Goodthing and will certainly continue returning for a consistently tasty and well-crafted cup of coffee!

Lovee Goodthing coffee. Staff is always nice. My favorite drinks are the hojicha latte, and the pistachio einspanner drink. My friend got the cortado and it was really good as well. Space is kind of small but there's a cute little patio in the back you can hang.

There's a self-ordering kiosk at the front that takes place instead of a real person taking your order. There's 3 tables to sit and do work or just chat with friends. We got our drinks pretty quickly after ordering. Drink: Strawberry Matcha Einspanner (8.2/10): Super creamy matcha latte! The default is 50% sweetness and it was honestly perfect. I got this drink with whole milk and the matcha combined very well into the drink with no clumps or separating after initial mix. The strawberries tasted very fresh and added a nice tartness and sweetness to the drink! Would definitely get again when I'm in town.

There was no line at all, so my drink came out really quickly. Service was efficient, and basically non existent since you order on your phone, and pick it up from the counter. They have some seats indoors and a few benches outside, it's pretty spare and basic inside which is all you really need in a cafe. I saw a lot of people getting takeout, and some small groups around tables chatting. I was debating between the matcha and houjicha, then got intrigued by the black sesame, and finally after much internal debate, decided that black sesame + houjicha would work best together and wanted the einspanner. They honestly have so many intriguing options like Earl grey matcha einspanner??? Banana pudding?? I have to come back. My only complaint is the price but I guess everything is expensive these days. $8/9 for one of these drinks hurt my heart though. On the flavors: while I wish there was more black sesame (I always do), this was one of the most satisfyingly black sesame items I've had from a cafe. It went really well with the toasty roasty notes from the houjicha and I think they added enough of both amidst the milk to make it a very satisfying drink. This can be rare because a lot of places drown out all the flavors with too much milk. The best part though, was the einspanner - the sweetened whipped cream on top really brought the whole drink together and was so delicious. It made it just that little bit more decadent. I got it at minimal sweetness and at first though it wasn't enough, but I was glad I did as I worked my way through the cup, it was perfect.

Maison Alyzée is a French fine pastry bakery café located on downtown Burlingame's main strip. Dedicated to providing customers with a Parisian escape through handcrafted elegant pastries and artisanal breads, the bake shoppe doubles as pâtisserie and boulangerie, priding itself on meticulous attention to detail. Upon entry, we were welcomed by a brightly lit and very clean venue. Ray and I were immediately drawn to the beautiful marble-topped white counter that encased a gorgeous variety of exquisite treats. The commitment to the elegance of French culture and modern creativity were evident in every luxurious pastry and cake on display. Maison Alyzée is an order-at-the-counter establishment, so we made our purchase with a friendly staff member at the register. Unfortunately, we were told that espresso drinks were no longer available that night since the staff had already begun cleaning the machines. Ok....I never understand businesses that start shutting down things before closing time. This just shows customers that team convenience of closing shop quickly takes precedence over customer experience, essentially omitting availability of items from the menu while they are still open. For this reason, I am docking a star. Luckily, they still had some cold brew available, so I ordered a Lavender Cold Brew with oat milk. Heads-up: Plant-based milks like almond and oat milk incur a $0.75 surcharge. I wish that the lavender was more like a simple syrup, so that the flavour was sweeter and less sharp. Maison Alyzée also offers a selection of breakfast, lunch, and brunch options. I definitely need to return to try one or two or a few of their ostentatious delights.
