The to go box I apparently hit the staff worker with
    Shayna G.

I've been a regular here for brunch with family and friends, so it genuinely pains me to write this. It was 73 degrees in Burlingame and I decided to grab breakfast and sit outside while waiting for my car to be serviced -- ordered the farmhouse breakfast. I stepped inside briefly to grab a to-go box for my unfinished eggs, potatoes, and chicken sausage. When I came back, Valeria had already cleared my plate and told me "there's nothing left." I paid $30 for that meal. When I went inside to address it, I was met with no apology and a dismissive "so what do you want to do?" I let it go and sat back down -- until I overheard Valeria telling her coworkers that I had thrown the to-go box at her. I had my earphones in at the time but wasn't listening to anything, so I heard every word. I calmly approached her and asked if I could clarify something. I explained that I was eating alone, that I had stepped inside only to grab a box, and that I still had food on my plate. I acknowledged it was a misunderstanding on both ends. I wasn't aggressive, I wasn't combative. What I got back was anything but that same energy. $30 for a meal that got thrown away before I finished it, staff who couldn't be bothered to make it right, and an employee fabricating stories about a customer to her coworkers. There are too many good brunch spots in the Bay Area to spend your money somewhere that treats loyal customers like an inconvenience. Do better. I won't be back. Below is the to go box I apparently hit worker, Valeria, with...

Cute place to have brunch in downtown Burlingame! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I got one of the steak paninis (tasty!) and my friend got one of their salad bowls (kinda huge tbh). Service was quick -- you order at the counter, they give you a number, and come by later with your food. They had a large selection of coffees, paninis, pastries, and other brunch foods all on display. I was tempted to get one of their pancakes (I heard good things about the lemon ricotta pancakes!) but I knew it would be way too much food. Pastries looked really good but were on the pricey side.

This cafe always looks busy. Decided to finally try it. They have a display of the food which is really helpful and everything looks so good! They have a lot drink options, coffee, tea, smoothies, juices etc. a lot pastries too. Everything was delicious and tasted really healthy. I enjoyed my chorizo wrap. It came with a side of fruit. My friend got the Irish breakfast. Said it was good but needed more salt. the toast comes in a heart shape , so cute. Presentation was spot on.

6 of us + 1 baby had brunch here on a rainy Sunday. How it works: you order and pay inside first, they'll give you a number, you find a table, and they'll bring out your food to your table. Service: 4/5 Employees were quick, efficient, and friendly although they did not check-in with us throughout the meal. Ambiance: 5/5 Trendy, minimal, and busy. Outdoor seating is perfect for warm and sunny days. Food: 4/5 Tons of options to choose from and yes, items for both food and drinks tend to lean more towards healthy options. I personally think it is a bit pricier for smaller portions but if you're a small eater like me, this would be perfect.

Caffe Central is located on the busy street of Burlingame Avenue. You can't miss it as it is on the corner and has a lively spot. Ordering is done at the counter where you will receive a number to be displayed on your table . There are lots of open seating inside and out. On chilly days, patio heaters are used. During this visit I got the chicken BLT. It was good and the chicken was tender. My only complaint is there was too much dressing on it. I recommend getting it on the side for you to drizzle on. It's a crowded ambiance. Service was decent. I would return to try other lunch sandwiches.

Our new favorite brunch spot! Caffé Central is fantastic. The food and the coffee are tremendous and the portions are huge! I had the breakfast bowl, trying to be healthy and it was amazing. I feel you can tell a fair bit about a place when they can perfectly poach an egg. This bowl combined with a squeeze of lemon was incredibly good. I would have added some hot sauce to it but it was just about perfect without it. The masala spiced chai was great. The foam was thick and creamy and the spice stayed on top so you had a bit of spice in every sip. We will be back again and again. Just be aware that it is open seating so you may have some trouble finding a spot to sit on a busy day.

We stopped by Caffe Central on a very busy Sunday, and even with the crowd, the team worked impressively fast. We ordered a mix of dishes -- the Pastrami Sandwich, Fajita Bowl, the Burlingame dish, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and Avocado Toast -- plus the Detox and Vitamin C juices. Despite the rush, everything came out quickly and was fresh and flavorful. The portions were generous, and each dish had its own standout moment: the pastrami was savory and satisfying, the fajita bowl was hearty, the pancakes were light and bright with lemon, and the avocado toast was beautifully prepared. The juices were refreshing and a great complement to the meal. Overall, Caffe Central handled the Sunday crowd with ease, delivering great food and fast service. A solid spot in Burlingame for a relaxed weekend brunch or breakfast! They have indoor and outdoor sidewalk seating, which is perfect if your dog tags along.

I like this place a lot. Good food. Lots of options, healthy options. We plan to stop by when we are driving through. Today was one of those days. Always a favorite. We shared a so-Cal omelette which was enough for two of us. Will be back!

One of my favorite go to brunch restaurants! I love this cafe in Burlingame- from the menu options, coffee bar, pastries and overall experience is what keeps me coming back. Typically at 11 am is when the restaurant is fully packed but otherwise ambience is chill. I do love that you can order your food/drinks and find a place to sit. You have to try their iced caffe central latte-it's a vanilla & caramel latte mixed with oat milk.

(Ryan Reynolds voiceover) The vibe is world class caffe! Judedde warmly greeted me! She is super nice! Ran with the Pressed Juice. (Sooo many varieties!) The Chichurri! Hearty! Avocados and beef pair well. The bed of rice w/ tomatoes and onions was splendiferous (and likely to make you violate your low carb oath)! But the pièce the résistance was the side dish. Ahem. Roasted beets?! Wowza! Judedde made it happen. Would order everything again! The food was delish! The service exemplary! Thanks, Judedde! Woohoo!

Big selection of breakfast, brunch, sandwiches and desserts. Everything looks so good.. We ordered omelette and the French toast + drinks They taste as good as they look Judedde (hopefully I spell her name right) was very tentative and warm. Excellent service. Definitely will visit again

YUM! Stumbled upon this place while walking to another nearby cafe & decided to check this place out instead. I'm so happy with my decision. The omelette was SO fresh and light, I could taste every ingredient! Loved it so much. & I got an iced matcha with oatmilk & strawberry cold foam. Although I couldn't really taste the strawberry I loved how creamy it made the matcha & I loved that it wasn't too sweet. Sat outside on a Thursday morning. The weather was perfect & it wasn't too crowded or busy. Service was fast too! I will be back :)

And it's hidden gem-ness, well, that's part of what made our morning so great. I found it because the photos looked amazing and the menu sounded right up my alley, and I'm so glad we gave it a try. We enjoyed breakfast out on the patio while my little nanny buddy happily colored and played in the sunshine (with Simba supervising, of course ). One of our favourite surprises was the view. The patio overlooks the waterfront, and we got to watch planes taking off while we ate. If you have little ones who love airplanes, Gigi's Cafe is gold. When I arrived around 10:00 p.m., I had to go to the front desk to check in. The lobby was packed with guests because Hilton was experiencing a nationwide system outage. After waiting in line, I was informed that the ocean-view room I had specifically selected and paid for had already been given away. Instead of honoring my reservation or offering a comparable solution, I was simply assigned a different room. To make matters worse, the front desk associate told me they would waive my parking fee as compensation for the inconvenience. Later, I discovered that the parking lot is open to the public because it is connected to the oceanfront trail. There is no gate, no parking attendant, no security monitoring the lot, and guests are not charged to park there in the first place. In other words, they offered me something that was already free, making it feel like they were trying to appease me without providing any real compensation. The nationwide system outage was beyond the hotel's control, and I understand that. However, giving away the room I had already selected and paid for, then misleading me into believing I was receiving meaningful compensation when I wasn't, was extremely disappointing. I expected much better customer service and accountability from Hilton. I will be making sure to tell all my friends and family what type of experience I had!

It has a beautiful foyer, great dining area and the front office staff is pleasant. You can't go wrong with the manager's reception nightly with small snacks and two complementary drinks along with the buffet breakfast each morning However, the first evening we were unlucky finding the managers reception so we went to the bar to get a couple drinks, and the bartender was not the most pleasant. He walked away from us when we offered to pay with cash and just said that we don't take cash here and we finally waited and asked for him to please come back so we could order drinks with a credit card he did so with not most pleasant attitude. Another issue on our first day was paying for an "upgrade" to a room smelling deeply of recreational marijuana, which we do not partake in. We are also traveling with a child. We are given furniture that is worn and tattered a bathroom with no stopper and a lightbulb that wasn't working we called maintenance that day my husband left shortly maintenance arrived pretty swiftly however he had to change the bulb and proceeded to leave his tools and ladder in the restroom. I called the front desk to let them know and ask if they speak with the manager, no one followed up with Us quite concerning. I guess the bigger issue is just paying for an upgrade when you feel like it's not even a bare minimum of what your visit should consist of doesn't mean we won't return to an Embassy suites just perhaps not this one.

At my seat (depicted) you get live behind the scenes of a kitchen. Me personally, I enjoy watching my food being cooked in front of me, so I enjoyed it. I originally went because of looking at the prices on an image on yelp. It was $16 for sausage, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. That's a great deal! But, once I got there inflation kicked it up to $18. Not the biggest difference to deter, but just letting everyone know the real price. I got pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and bacon (depicted). The eggs were good, pancakes were very good, hash browns were okay, and the reason for 4 star instead of a 5.... the bacon. The bacon wasn't crispy and cooked to order. It was chewy and I guess they cook it before and then heat it up on the griddle after. It is super noticeable from the taste, but especially from the texture. I would recommend this place to anyone, but just be aware with the vital advice I wrote.

My pork chop dinner included soup or salad, slice of toasted and buttered sourdough, potatoes or rice, vegetables and choice of dessert. All for just under $30 before tip. The two thin pork chops were supposedly marinated, but I couldn't tell from tasting them. They were over cooked--dry, tough and needed some herbs. DH had the cheeseburger with potato salad and praised the meal. He also devoured my dessert--ice cream with chocolate sauce. Service was friendly and efficient, making me want to return. Next time I'll have something like a sandwich or burger.
