The to go box I apparently hit the staff worker with
    Shayna G.

I've been a regular here for brunch with family and friends, so it genuinely pains me to write this. It was 73 degrees in Burlingame and I decided to grab breakfast and sit outside while waiting for my car to be serviced -- ordered the farmhouse breakfast. I stepped inside briefly to grab a to-go box for my unfinished eggs, potatoes, and chicken sausage. When I came back, Valeria had already cleared my plate and told me "there's nothing left." I paid $30 for that meal. When I went inside to address it, I was met with no apology and a dismissive "so what do you want to do?" I let it go and sat back down -- until I overheard Valeria telling her coworkers that I had thrown the to-go box at her. I had my earphones in at the time but wasn't listening to anything, so I heard every word. I calmly approached her and asked if I could clarify something. I explained that I was eating alone, that I had stepped inside only to grab a box, and that I still had food on my plate. I acknowledged it was a misunderstanding on both ends. I wasn't aggressive, I wasn't combative. What I got back was anything but that same energy. $30 for a meal that got thrown away before I finished it, staff who couldn't be bothered to make it right, and an employee fabricating stories about a customer to her coworkers. There are too many good brunch spots in the Bay Area to spend your money somewhere that treats loyal customers like an inconvenience. Do better. I won't be back. Below is the to go box I apparently hit worker, Valeria, with...

This cafe always looks busy. Decided to finally try it. They have a display of the food which is really helpful and everything looks so good! They have a lot drink options, coffee, tea, smoothies, juices etc. a lot pastries too. Everything was delicious and tasted really healthy. I enjoyed my chorizo wrap. It came with a side of fruit. My friend got the Irish breakfast. Said it was good but needed more salt. the toast comes in a heart shape , so cute. Presentation was spot on.

6 of us + 1 baby had brunch here on a rainy Sunday. How it works: you order and pay inside first, they'll give you a number, you find a table, and they'll bring out your food to your table. Service: 4/5 Employees were quick, efficient, and friendly although they did not check-in with us throughout the meal. Ambiance: 5/5 Trendy, minimal, and busy. Outdoor seating is perfect for warm and sunny days. Food: 4/5 Tons of options to choose from and yes, items for both food and drinks tend to lean more towards healthy options. I personally think it is a bit pricier for smaller portions but if you're a small eater like me, this would be perfect.

Caffe Central is located on the busy street of Burlingame Avenue. You can't miss it as it is on the corner and has a lively spot. Ordering is done at the counter where you will receive a number to be displayed on your table . There are lots of open seating inside and out. On chilly days, patio heaters are used. During this visit I got the chicken BLT. It was good and the chicken was tender. My only complaint is there was too much dressing on it. I recommend getting it on the side for you to drizzle on. It's a crowded ambiance. Service was decent. I would return to try other lunch sandwiches.

Our new favorite brunch spot! Caffé Central is fantastic. The food and the coffee are tremendous and the portions are huge! I had the breakfast bowl, trying to be healthy and it was amazing. I feel you can tell a fair bit about a place when they can perfectly poach an egg. This bowl combined with a squeeze of lemon was incredibly good. I would have added some hot sauce to it but it was just about perfect without it. The masala spiced chai was great. The foam was thick and creamy and the spice stayed on top so you had a bit of spice in every sip. We will be back again and again. Just be aware that it is open seating so you may have some trouble finding a spot to sit on a busy day.

One of my favorite go to brunch restaurants! I love this cafe in Burlingame- from the menu options, coffee bar, pastries and overall experience is what keeps me coming back. Typically at 11 am is when the restaurant is fully packed but otherwise ambience is chill. I do love that you can order your food/drinks and find a place to sit. You have to try their iced caffe central latte-it's a vanilla & caramel latte mixed with oat milk.

We stopped by Caffe Central on a very busy Sunday, and even with the crowd, the team worked impressively fast. We ordered a mix of dishes -- the Pastrami Sandwich, Fajita Bowl, the Burlingame dish, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and Avocado Toast -- plus the Detox and Vitamin C juices. Despite the rush, everything came out quickly and was fresh and flavorful. The portions were generous, and each dish had its own standout moment: the pastrami was savory and satisfying, the fajita bowl was hearty, the pancakes were light and bright with lemon, and the avocado toast was beautifully prepared. The juices were refreshing and a great complement to the meal. Overall, Caffe Central handled the Sunday crowd with ease, delivering great food and fast service. A solid spot in Burlingame for a relaxed weekend brunch or breakfast! They have indoor and outdoor sidewalk seating, which is perfect if your dog tags along.

(Ryan Reynolds voiceover) The vibe is world class caffe! Judedde warmly greeted me! She is super nice! Ran with the Pressed Juice. (Sooo many varieties!) The Chichurri! Hearty! Avocados and beef pair well. The bed of rice w/ tomatoes and onions was splendiferous (and likely to make you violate your low carb oath)! But the pièce the résistance was the side dish. Ahem. Roasted beets?! Wowza! Judedde made it happen. Would order everything again! The food was delish! The service exemplary! Thanks, Judedde! Woohoo!

I like this place a lot. Good food. Lots of options, healthy options. We plan to stop by when we are driving through. Today was one of those days. Always a favorite. We shared a so-Cal omelette which was enough for two of us. Will be back!

When you need a mix of healthy and filling, this place is it. Caffe Central has such a large menu of salads and bowls that include a healthy portion of proteins. I'm the type to have breakfast food at any hour of the day so occasionally I would also get an omelette during lunch. Love their concept and open seating.

Lava cake. We ordered 2 and both were just regular cakes with no liquid center
    Katya D.

Waitresses and a cashier were very welcoming and friendly. I also saw them accommodating a mom with an infant really well. They genuinely care about their customers. I love that you can see what the food you are ordering will look like. Everything (savory and sweet) looks amazing! The reason why I rate this place with 3 stars is that I was disappointed with their lava cake. By definition, a lava cake has a liquid center, and their lava cake was just a cake. If I knew their lava cake was unconventional, without any "chocolate lava", I would have gone with a different dessert.

    Vanilla Latte: 4/5
    Huiya Z.

Drinks: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 This place is busy on the weekends. I came here for a morning pick me up. There weren't much people in line at their cafe but it took us 30 minutes to get our drinks... I would not come back because of this wait. Ice Vanilla Latte: 4/5 Honestly pretty good but not worth the wait. I can get this at Starbucks. Matcha: 2/5 Matcha was not mixed well. There were a lot of chunks on the bottom of my drink

Yelpers directed us towards this place, and I am grateful for this community for that! We liked it so much, we came back twice in two days! Our first visit, we ordered the Sesame Fans and Chestnut Dream. We also added the Mango Panna Cotta dessert. Both drinks were smooth and nutty and the dessert wasn't too sweet but still really fruity. As we were waiting, we saw all the other waffle desserts that were coming out of the kitchen. We both said we needed to come back for those desserts! On our second visit THE NEXT DAY, we ordered the Mango Sago and the Red Rose drinks. As we had just finished a very large lunch right before this, we just couldn't bring ourselves to order any of the waffle desserts! Again, our drinks were amazing and refreshing. They chose Mango Mochi Gelato, Sago with Taro and Coconut, Black Sticky Rice with Taro and Coconut, and I chose the White Fungus with Almond Soup. For dine in, you order from scanning the QR code on the table. It was a bit weird that they did not take our orders at the cashier even though the sign said so. It was a bit confusing. Lucky we got there slightly early, past 8:30pm, this place is packed! There are some tables with round chairs for medium to large groups, or you seat facing the window like a bar table for 3 in a group. Our friends are very happy with the Mango Mochi Gelato. One lady found the Black Sticky Rice soup too sweet. I like my almond soup, although the white fungus could be softer, but the amount of white fungus was ok, so I'm glad it's not just watery soup. Service was very limited. There's no water offered, and the staff only delivered the desserts. You need to grab the key near the cashier to go to the restroom. I walked over to the front to ask for extra spoons for sharing. I like their menu has savory snacks, bento items besides desserts. They have a gelato fridge at the front with about 6-8 choices. I wish the service is warmer, but I guess they offer unique food at a good place that wins the market easily.

I was looking for a non-boba drink in Millbrae and found this place on yelp. It sounded like a good idea....a yogurt drink (semi healthy since it is probiotic) with some Asian toppings/flavors. It sounded good on the menu, but when I actually tried it, it was a huge disappointment. There was barely any jujube or purple rice. It didn't taste like there was any sweetener added at all. It basically just tasted like watered down plain yogurt. A waste of nearly $10. Sad face. The shop itself seems a bit unkept. Also, there were very dusty boxes of teas by the counter. Maison Alyzée is a French fine pastry bakery café located on downtown Burlingame's main strip. Dedicated to providing customers with a Parisian escape through handcrafted elegant pastries and artisanal breads, the bake shoppe doubles as pâtisserie and boulangerie, priding itself on meticulous attention to detail. Upon entry, we were welcomed by a brightly lit and very clean venue. Ray and I were immediately drawn to the beautiful marble-topped white counter that encased a gorgeous variety of exquisite treats. The commitment to the elegance of French culture and modern creativity were evident in every luxurious pastry and cake on display. Maison Alyzée is an order-at-the-counter establishment, so we made our purchase with a friendly staff member at the register. Unfortunately, we were told that espresso drinks were no longer available that night since the staff had already begun cleaning the machines. Ok....I never understand businesses that start shutting down things before closing time. This just shows customers that team convenience of closing shop quickly takes precedence over customer experience, essentially omitting availability of items from the menu while they are still open. For this reason, I am docking a star. Luckily, they still had some cold brew available, so I ordered a Lavender Cold Brew with oat milk. Heads-up: Plant-based milks like almond and oat milk incur a $0.75 surcharge. I wish that the lavender was more like a simple syrup, so that the flavour was sweeter and less sharp.
