Delicious falafel wrap with citrus ginger honey tea

Tiny tiny cafe at the back of the library with bold flavors. The sweet owners make everything from scratch, including the lasagna, falafel, and baklava. Would highly recommend the wraps (the green sauce is fire). They have a few seats inside but also have to-go options. Love these guys!

Every review is spot on. Food is off the charts delicious. Lady who runs the cafe is just a complete charm and what a find. Everything freshly made and so scrumptious and healthy no garbage. Turkish coffee was excellent. Total find.

Stopped to pick up kids books from the Foundation bookstore and stayed for the cafe. What a hidden gem! Delicious Swedish and Turkish coffees, Schwarma wraps, and endless books and natural light to eat, sip, and read. I recommend the house special kebab

Savoring made-from-scratch, smokey, super smooth baba ganoush and authentic Turkish coffee INSIDE the gorgeous Burlingame Library... Isn't this beautifully served too? Notice the sprinkling of sumac & walnuts. Delicious.

Great little cafe inside of the Burlingame Library. They have American food as well as Middle Eastern/Turkish food. The baklava and Turkish coffee are my faves. My friend loves their hot chocolate. (They have a hot chocolate machine from Italy- fancy!) The family that runs the place is really sweet. Nice, quiet place to read a book and eat lunch.

Two Swedish coffees, a Greek cheese pie and a lady heart pastry.

I came in around 9am and they were already sold out of some items, but I did manage to get my hands on one of their famous croissants! I ended up getting the Pistachio Raspberry Croissant and Chocolate Chip Cookie. Both pastries are PHENOMENAL. The Bay Area truly does have a fantastic pastry (especially croissant) scene, but Backhaus is definitely up there. I loved how well the flavors came through in both, and the textures were great. They were also baked perfectly. I definitely want to try more of their offerings in the future! In general, this place well deserves the hype.

The chocolate croissant was just as good, featuring the perfect balance of sweet and slightly bitter chocolate wrapped in layers of buttery, flaky pastry. The latte, topped with a leaf design, was rich, smooth, and flavorful. It provided the perfect pick-me-up while making a headache disappear. The café offers plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, with additional space upstairs and downstairs. Friendly staff, a welcoming atmosphere, delicious pastries, and good coffee make this cafe well worth a visit.

The eggs were perfectly poached, the Hollandaise was tasty (but not overwhelming), and the biscuits they come in were really tasty. I also appreciated the lightly dressed salad that came as a side: the greens were very fresh. I also got the Cuban Cortadito, and I was pumped to have a non-dairy coffee drink. It was very well made: the slight hint of condensed milk was a nice touch. It was a nice sweet drink without being cloyingly sweet. But they have so many tasty coffee drinks that it was hard to choose, so I'll def be back to try more of them!

We ordered our food and drinks first at the register and then they gave us a buzzer, which we took to a table of our choice. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, and fortunately, we were able to find a table inside. I ordered the Foreigner Favorite and an iced Yema Latte. My friend ordered the Veggie Scramble and an iced Euro Latte. We both requested less sweet for our drinks. This turned out good for the Euro Latte but I had to go back and ask them to increase the sweetness for the Yema Latte. The drinks were good, nothing too mind-blowing. The Foreigner Favorite was yummy. I really liked the sausages and poached eggs. I love potatoes, and I wish these were a little bit crispier. Regardless, it was an enjoyable dish overall. It was also very filling, and I ended up taking leftovers home.
