Once I placed my order, I could track my wait time through their live update dashboard to see when my drinks would be ready. There are only a few tables indoors and a bathroom onsite is also available. I got the tie guan yin milk tea which is recommended as a popular choice. I was able to customize the sweetness down to 10% and the drink was still a bit on the sweet side once the boba was added in. Overall, creamy and good. My husband got the mango ice tea with aiyu jelly. You could only customize the sweetness down to 30% for this and it was also very much on the sweet side. After having dinner in this area, I wanted to grab a milk tea for dessert. Initially, I was planning on getting a drink at Tea Hut, but found they were permanently closed! That was an unfortunate discovery. But this bustling area seemed to have a few tea shops at our disposal and seeing that TP Tea was the busiest, I thought to try them. Natural sunlight filled this spacious tea shop as the sun was setting! Though for some reason, they have a fly problem in the center where at least a half dozen flies were circulating. That was a bit of a turn off! But I continued to order through their kiosk anyhow as I was taking this drink to go. The menu is pretty big, so as a first timer, it took a few minutes to figure out what I wanted. I ended up ordering a TREASURE TARO MILK TEA (With taro and pudding). I believe the base for this drink was a Tie Guan Yin tea. It was strong, yet the sweet taro helped mellow the tea's bitterness. I had this drink at zero extra sugar, but I think it could have used just a little more sweetness (10%). I mixed the drink up so the taro would sweeten the tea more, which helped. The kiosks made the ordering pretty efficient and I didn't have to wait too long for my drink. I tried the Velvet Lychee Fresh Milk Tea with 50% sweet, and boba, and it was quite yummy! The lychee came through quite nicely and tasted authentic. I'm glad I adjusted the sweetness because it might've been a little too sweet if I hadn't. Needed a sweet treat after dinner and the kids wanted boba. Thankfully TPTea was open. Very few patrons inside. Extensive menu and again another kiosk ordering establishment. I ordered the mango passion blend, no milk, with boba. Exactly what I wanted, it fulfilled whatever sweet treat craving I had. D1 ordered the strawberry milk smoothie with boba and she really liked hers. 2D2 had the passion fruit tea and liked hers as well. Not sure what my son ordered, some sort of milk tea, but he was very satisfied with his drink. The drinks came out fairly quickly, however the "dining area" could have used some cleaning/ sweeping. The drinks are good here, and it is on par with their other locations. They also make them quickly. This location has seating which is great ...and not so great. The times I've come here, the tables have always been a little sticky and wobbly. The floor was also sticky. It seemed like they put no budget in the seating area. Moreover, the trash cans were often overflowing, and there were receipts on the floor and tables. Once, I went into the restroom and honestly wish I didn't. It looked like it wasn't maintained at all-wet floors and with toilet paper on the floor. It makes me question the hygiene of this spot. TP Tea is a must go-to stop whenever I'm in Millbrae for a treat. Drink - 4/5 - I really love teas and I think the tea quality here is quite good. I like to stop here for a sweet treat after a meal in the area. The boba quality has a good chew and the milk teas/teas are really refreshing. I usually go for the lemon oolong or a milk tea. Price - $$$ - To be completely honest, it is overpriced here. It's roughly $7-9 a cup depending what you get. I definitely think this is more of a "treat yourself" moment as the other shops in the area don't compare as highly, in my opinion at least. I really enjoy tea so I think it's no different than treating myself to an einspanner from a novelty coffee shop every once in a while. Service - 3/5 - The bobaristas are quite quick and efficient. I usually order via the kiosk and they get the drinks out quite quickly. They seem to have a streamlined process. Ambiance - 4/5 - The boba shop is a bit small, but there are some seating. Oh TP Tea, thanks for coming to the US and bringing tea goodness so close to home. This location is very large vs San Mateo and has lots of seating! The team works super hard and fast - you can watch the hustle while you wait for the drink. The drinks come out quite fast considering how busy it is! I came here after being disappointed on a matcha craving up the block and was a bit wary of getting a matcha drink at TP tea but it was actually decent! TP Tea offers a good variety of tea drinks that I don't usually see at some Asian tea places. Good size location with a few tables to sit. We ordered the Golden Osmanthus Milk Tea with Boba. Not a lot of places offer this choice with Osmanthus. Osmanthus offers a bright flavor and floral aroma that you don't find with your run of the mill Jasmine tea or Black Milk Tea. The aroma was clearly pronounced. We ordered 80% sweetness and thought it was actually the right amount of sweetness and we usually don't like our drinks that sweet. One of my favorite boba chains. I've frequented the one in Berkeley and love it, and this one is just as good. My partner and I got 2 drinks to split this time: tie guan yin milk tea and velvet osmanthus milk tea. Both were so tasty - the perfect amount of tea flavor and balanced with milky creaminess. I will say that they were both a little sweeter than expected even though we got less sweet percentages for both (50% and 70%) so if you're a bit sensitive to sweetness I recommend getting a very low sweetness percent. Even with it being sweet, it was still delicious. The shop itself is pretty spacious and clean - basic table setups but there was enough room to stand around while we waited for our orders. First time at this boba shop. It was super busy on a saturday mid afternoon. Had to wait at least 20 mins for our entire order. The drinks are so good & their boba is so soft to chew. My favorite about this place is the sweetness fragrance from the store since this store can offer to customize your sweetness all the way to 120%. Parking can be hard, the ambiance inside is very modern. They have automated machine reading the orders outloud, and they jusy have a spot by the counter where they place the orders. I went on a Tuesday night and it was empty. There are two to three order kiosks and two workers behind the counter. After ordering, which was somewhat cumbersome (program was not smooth. The screen was really dirty as well), I went to the restroom to wash my hands (the screen was REALLY dirty). The bathroom was in ok condition but the soap was not locked in and I was unable to get any soap from the dispenser. I went to the counter to let them know but did not get any acknowledgement from the staff after standing there for 5 min. I decided it was not worth the hassle. My order came out somewhat quickly but the taro was cold. It would have been better if they heated the taro up first before adding to my hot drink. I had ordered the Moo milk tea (?) and added grass jelly to it. I didn't taste any of the grass jelly but it also could have melted in my drink so I can't say what happened. The drink was just alright... Either way, the lack of customer service, the lack of attention to detail in the bathroom (seriously, how did you forget to lock the soap dispenser?), and the stickiness of the tables in the shop really put me off. I am a regular at this place. I drive almost 30min from SF to get my boba fix even if there are so many Milk Tea shops in my neighborhood. TP TEA's parent company, founded bubble tea. It's a huge global shop in Taiwan and now they are Stateside. I order from the SnackPass app and by the time I get there my order is ready. Even when I am in store it is very convenient with 2 point of sales machines people can use to order. I am obsessed with the Mango Boba Milk Tea. No other boba shop has a drink and flavors that compare to this. I should know as I've looked and can never find anything that competes with this drink. It's delish! Their Strawberry Milk Tea is light and refreshing. The Roasted Oolong Mili Tea is a classic and also very good. Another must try is their Jasmine Green Milk Tea and the Strawberry Matcha Latte. They had Ube Milk Tea for a time which is a favorite in the Filipino community. Their toppings like the QQ noodles is unique to TP Tea like boba but like slurpable noodles another favorite of mine when I order drinks at TP Tea. TP Tea in this downtown area of Millbrae is always filled with customers coming in and out. My friends and I considered enjoying our boba in the shop, but the inside and outside seating areas were all filled. I ordered my Thai Tea with 30% sweetness through their kiosk, and I waited for around 15 minutes to get my order. I wanted to try their Thai Tea for the first time due to my already good experiences with their more popular drinks, such as their classic Black Milk Tea or Jasmine Tea. Their Thai Tea was nothing special in my opinion, but I still enjoyed my drink and finished it promptly. The quality between the different TP Teas does not differ much, however, and I would love to come back to this location to try their popular teas that I already so much enjoy! read more

They had to ask another person who said no for sanitary reasons, and I said I've been to the Milpitas and Sunnyvale locations with my own cup and they've let me. The person asked another person (manager I assume) and came back saying they can do it. Waited for my drink, and what do you know, not in my cup. Seriously? He said he'll just put it into my cup, but that defeats the purpose - you've already put my drink into the cup, and you're going to throw the cup away. I just wanted to share some honest feedback. The last two times I came about 1-1.5 hours before closing, the boba pearls were really not good -- they were very soft and had no chewiness at all. The milk tea also tasted quite different from before. This used to be one of my favorite boba shops in the Bay Area, which is why I came with a lot of expectation. Unfortunately, the experience was really disappointing. If the pearls have been sitting for too long near closing time, I would honestly prefer if the shop just says the boba is sold out rather than serving pearls that are past their best texture. Even if it's close to closing, I'd rather see some items marked as sold out. Used to only occasionally go to the TP Tea in San Mateo so it's great that there's now a TP Tea in Millbrae!! Popped over for their grand opening BOGO offer and got: Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea (50% sweet) - honestly don't think you could go wrong with TGY. It's my second time getting this (now my current go-to drink), and it's popular for a reason! I think it's a little more on the milky side but you can definitely still taste the tea. Moo! My Taro (50% sweet) - trusted the thumbs up () on the menu and was not disappointed (but in hindsight I guess you can't really go wrong with real taro + sugar + milk lol). Taro was really fragrant, and this was great! Would drink again. Open to trying other drinks on the menu and will definitely be back for more milk tea!! read more

TP is great to have around! Drinks: 7.5 / 10 ; Just tried their Velvet Lychee Fresh Milk Tea at 80% less sweet with boba. I could have gotten 50%, I think their drinks tend to be slightly too sweet for me, especially if you add a topping, I would advise to go less sweet and ask for more syrup if you want after tasting. My sister also got Service: 7.5 / 10 ; Kind of hit or miss in terms of how fast your drinks would be made.. so I would be careful if you think you have 5 min to run and grab a drink. If there is a line, it can take a little longer than average boba places. But otherwise, their staff is always nice and take initiative to ask if you have any questions or would like to order with them instead of the kiosks. Store interior: 7 / 10 ; there are some seats and a few tables available and the interior is nice if you just want to sit and catch up with friends for a bit. We noticed they do have a cute, customized "Millbrae" TP Tea sign which is a great touch. My family and I come by every now and then and have also been to the location in downtown San Mateo. We stopped by on Sun. night for the Lychee series BOGO, and I am pretty satisfied after this visit. The deal was only for the lychee series and your second free drink is the same drink but you can make adjustments and have different toppings.
