Stopped by the Millbrae Peet's and ordered a new Rose Pistachio Latte drink through the app. After taking literally two sips, we realized it was way too sweet and just wasn't for us. Peet's own policy says baristas will remake drinks if you're not satisfied, so we went back to ask for an exchange. The cashier couldn't have been less helpful. Instead of offering to remake it or provide any kind of solution, he just said "you bought it, you already drank it" and shut the conversation down. No attempt to follow Peet's customer satisfaction policy, no courtesy, no effort. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable--just the standard remake that Peet's advertises. Really disappointing experience, and definitely not the level of service we expect from this location. read more

Our Millbrae downtown has many coffee shops, and I don't drink coffee. But if I have to, Peet's coffee is my choice. This coffee shop offers very friendly service, and we love its location, next to an oversized parking lot. We parked our car, had a coffee, and then walked to the farmer's market for our weekly produce and bread. Their coffee is very fresh and delicious. Highly recommended. read more

I like Peet's coffee but maybe they should teach customer service to their employees. I went to this one a couple weeks back and wanted to order. The person looked at me and just kept doing what she was doing. I stood there and stood there. Never was I even acknowledged in any way besides the look of annoyance when I walked in, there was only one other person in store at time. So they didn't get any of my money and I walked out. Luckily a starbucks is right up the street. Which I would have preferred not to go too. But they got my money instead. This is an example of owners not caring about their business. read more

I am writing to share an experience I had at your Millbrae location. I have been a regular customer at this location for six years and have always had positive interactions with staff, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I came in as usual, placed my order, paid, and waited by the coffee bar. The barista, Victoria, was preparing drinks but had to remake them. After waiting for seven minutes, I politely asked if someone could assist with making my drink. Victoria responded by saying, "She can wait." I calmly explained that I had been waiting and was concerned about the delay. The interaction then shifted in a way that felt dismissive. The tone and language used towards me became inappropriate and unprofessional, including the use of profanity. Feeling uncomfortable I initially went to request a refund but then decided I still wanted my drink. At that point, I was told by Veronica that my drink would not be made and was told to "get the fuck out." She also stated she would have me banned from the store. This was said loudly in front of other customers, making the situation feel very public and humiliating. Another staff member, a short Hispanic male with facial piercings, stated that I am "always rude" when I come in on my phone. This was surprising I make every effort to be respectful when placing my orders. As a long time customer many staff members are familiar with my order and I have to resist my order to then. I am mindful not to disrupt the flow of business as well. If there is a specific policy regarding phone use, I would appreciate it being clearly communicated and posted in the store so I can be aware in the future. I encourage management to review the store's video footage from that time to fully understand what occurred. I believe both Victoria and the other staff member involved would benefit from additional training in appropriate customer service and communication. While I understand that working in a busy environment can be stressful, there is an expectation that all customers are treated with respect and professionalism. Customers also have the right to ask reasonable questions about their orders, and being told to "get the fuck out" is never acceptable under any circumstance. Throughout the situation, I remained calm and professional, ultimately choosing to leave rather than allow things to escalate further. I left feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and honestly shaken. This was not the level of care or professionalism I have come to expect from Peet's Coffee. I have supported this location for years and would like to continue doing so, but I also hope that no other customer has a similar experience. read more

Went into the Millbrae location, and the employee was leaning on the cash register with a blank face saying nothing. Ordered drinks, and as I picked them up when my name was called, no smile or comment from this second employee. As we sat down and drank our coffee, the first employee continued to lean on the cash register day dreaming. So unprofessional! Floors were dirty, looking like they had not been swept in a while. Maybe the employee leaning on the register with nothing better to do, could have spent 10 minutes sweeping the floor. Not a good experience, and I won't be coming back. read more

Got the vanilla latte today medium size, no whipped cream, regular milk, and it tasted pretty good! I also got the berry scone which had a great texture and flavor too! Their maple scones are great and also their coffee cake. I love this Peet's Coffee location. I've been coming here for years and it's in a convenient spot in downtown Millbrae. The service is always friendly every time I go and the atmosphere is usually pretty comfortable. Not much to complain about when going here every now and then. Using the Peets app or any store that utilizes any mobile app is also a faster process too. My go-to is the hot Oatmilk Vanilla Latte which gets a little pricey, but it's basically similar to Starbucks pricing wise. Recently I also got the Iced Chai Latte ($5.90 for Large) and personally I like it more than Starbuck's chai lattes. The team also finishes the drinks very quickly and efficiently which is nice as well. If you are looking for good coffee options to get you through the day while you're in Millbrae then Peet's is a great choice. read more

We were passing through the area and stopped in to grab a quick coffee. This location is located on the corner of Broadway and Hillcrest. There is easy parking right in front. I have been to many Peet's Coffee locations (and other chain coffee spots) but this review is specifically for Danny. In our brief interaction at the register when he took our order, he gave us the best customer experience. He has such a glowing personality and it's very rare to find someone so genuinely happy and positive in this type of setting. Monday pick me up! I started going to Peet's after working in the city and recently found out I still had a balance on my Peet's card. I decided to stop by my local Peet's and start my week off right! I came by around 8:30am on a Monday and there was only one person ahead of me. I was able to find a parking spot across the street. I know it gets busy in downtown Millbrae so just something to be aware of if you're getting coffee during lunch hours. I ordered my large Matcha Latte sweetened and with 2 extra shots! I give 5 stars solely for this drink because they made it perfectly! I usually always get this drink at work and it's a hit or miss sometimes. So I was especially happy they got it right! It was piping hot and I didn't have to ask for it to be extra hot. After this experience, I will definitely be coming back more often! Iced Maple cold brew latte and their iced chai. First off, I can't believe how slow they were. They were busy laughing and joking instead of making drinks for the two people who ordered. They couldn't find any straws or napkins and the woman at the cashier couldn't figure out how to scan my Peets mobile card. Secondly, the chai was soo awful and so was their iced maple latte. If you are gluten-free do not eat anything here because the staff does not know what's in the food they serve! I asked the person assisting me if they had any gluten-free items. She told me the brownie and the carrot type muffin were gluten-free. I ate the muffin and got very sick. It turns out they were VEGAN not GLUTEN-FREE. You should explain the difference to your staff because people who request gluten-free items get sick when they eat gluten!!! read more

Danny at this Millbrae location is always super helpful and friendly. I often go in to buy fresh roasted beans and he helps me check the roast dates without giving me any grief. Upon purchasing I usually ask to see the roast dates of 2-3 different kinds of medium roast beans just to make sure I get the most recently roasted kind. There were times when employees here were confused or impatient with me when I ask to check roast dates, but Danny gets it and helps me choose the best and freshest beans to take home! When I went in last month Danny offered to let me sample their new summer roast before buying it and really took the Peets experience to the next level. When I went in yesterday he even gave me a complimentary oat milk latte with brown sugar jelly (with my coffee bean purchase). It totally made my day! Danny is the shining example of customer service and Peets is really lucky to have him as an employee. I would give him ten stars if I could. It was a beautiful, warm Monday early afternoon. Looking forward to the start of an amazing start of the week, I chose to go to my routine coffee spot Peet's Coffee. Previously, I've been led to believe that this is the best coffee spot in the area. UNTIL this Monday afternoon... I ordered two medium black ties, one for myself and one for a colleague of mine waiting back at the office. As I'm waiting for the two drinks, I notice the barista slowly have to tip over the cold brew dispenser in order to make ends meet with the second medium black tie. With my own eyes, I was afraid of what could potentially happen next. Murphy's Law in the film Interstellar had a famous quote that came to my mind during these next couple of seconds. "Whatever can happen WILL happen." And I'm afraid this couldn't be more true at this point of time. The barista PROCEEDED to bring the short ended black tie under the faucet and PUT WATER TO COMPENSATE FOR THE MISSING COLD BREW. Obviously, with today's climate I did not choose to burst out and go ballistic on said barista to prevent being called a Karen on social media. Given the man that I am, I took both drinks, politely said thank you, and drank the contaminated black tie and gave my colleague the black tie he had asked for. Came here for my daily caffeine fix. Ordered ahead through my Peet's mobile app. Upon arrival my order wasn't ready yet so I thought no big deal I'll give it a few minutes. Noticed that the barista was very pleasant, courteous, and very efficient with making orders in a timely manner. I probably waiting 2-3 minutes before he asked me what my order was. I told him I had a mobile order, another gentleman asked what my order was and so he proceeded to make my order for me and in seconds it was ready. The staff seem to work well as a team. The coffee shop was clean inside. Busy filled with patrons working or having little meetings with colleagues or friends. Line was towards the door but they were getting through it pretty quick. I've been to this location a few times and each time was always a pleasant experience. Bathroom is in the corner of the room towards where you pick up your orders. I've never been inside so not sure how it is inside. Place is small-ish. I would say you can come here with a small stroller, probably not best if you have a jogger or a huge stroller for 2 kids. Only con for this place is they don't have the equipment for the Nitro cold brew. but the regular cold brew is just as good. I've had their drip coffee once and it tasted burnt . Haven't used a laptop inside a PC&T for a long time: 1) One hour time limit on internet use. 2) Need a password that they print out (must need a purchase too). 3) Otherwise, only Peet's webpage works. 4) Go to any website, a Peet's webpage opens up with space for the password. 5) After password entry, a link to go to the website you were trying to reach shows. 6) A warning that there will be no warning when your one hour is up. I've been here several times and I "gotta" say ......this has got to be THE FRIENDLIEST Peet's I've ever step foot into -- and I've had my share of them being a coffee nut! So what differentiates them from the other Peet's? For one, everyone here seems up beat and welcoming. They're friendly, fast and the Baristas here talk with you while you wait for your drinks. Two, this place has got it "rockin" and has a good feng shue to it. Maybe it's the fact that it's located at a corner where you can look outside while people are walking. Oh man. I bought a Large size Iced Matcha Holiday drink, and half the cup is ice. Never had a drink in the U.S that has this much of ice. Pretty much all their non-coffee Iced drinks are bland and weird. Like this Snowcap Iced Mint Latte, there was absolutely 0 taste of sweetness, just whole milk + a bit of greentea powder and that white foam. Since my 1 star review, which feels like 20 years ago, I have been back countless times. So much so that I've had to put myself on a bit of a coffee restriction plan. Let's do some math, shall we? $2.50 per cup of coffee multiplied by 7 (number of times within a week that I order drip coffee) is $17.50/week. 52 weeks a year and that's $910/year. Almost a thousand dollars a year on coffee!!! Trust me when I say this, after the fact of course, that is not in the budget!! Nevertheless, I have decided that it's best to hit em up when my favorite Peet's staffers are on the clock. Melanie is my favorite and I suspect I am not alone. She's on a first name basis with all of us and that's a super cool deal. I have grown to love Peet's Coffee again, which is very nice, considering how I felt when I wrote my 1 star review. Also, I have turned my office on to Peet's coffee and managed to get some Evil Mermaid lover's off the ledge of insanity and back to drinking coffee that is worth buying. I have recently become overly obsessed with their new Espresso drink, The Undertow. Fancy, dark name for a drink don't ya think?? I have become a bit high maintenance and often ask for a flavor sub on the syrup. Try it with Coconut syrup and shoot me a Yelp compliment in adoration of my invention. read more
