This is one of many T4 locations that I have been to. One thing that I can count on is that they are pretty consistent no matter where I go. For us, we usually get the panda boba or jasmine milk tea. Zero sweetness. We always order ahead so that our drinks are ready once we arrive. Wait times haven't been an issue since we do this. T4 has many drink options but I actually came here for the Popcorn Chicken - a snack that takes me back to my childhood. We came on a weekend and there was no line. Ordering is done via online kiosk. I love coming to t4! I normally get the lyhcee fruit tea with boba or the hot milk tea! The service is fast and we order on a table in the store. Their other drinks are great as well. You can't go wrong with any of their drinks or snacks here. There is a self ordering kiosk at this location to make ordering easy. I have been to many T4 locations and have found that they differ slightly at each location. This location does not have small boba but everything is about the same. Man, this T4 location in Millbrae is just not it. I thought I was being harsh giving this place 2 stars a couple years ago and I came back willing to give it another chance, but it turned out to be a mistake. I've never dropped a rating from 2 stars to 1 star, but here we are. The experience was all bad from drink quality to the outdated interior to the lack of customer service. You order on the kiosks now which means service is minimal, but the service even when you are being served the drinks isn't friendly. The drinks are either watery and bland or too sweet. What my family and I ordered: - Almond Milk Tea ($6.55 for a Large with Pearls) - Taro Pearl Milk Tea ($6.80 for a Large) Where do I even begin. The "Almond Milk Tea" just left me speechless. It wasn't an Almond Milk Tea at all. It was straight up an Earl Grey pure tea and had no Almond flavor at all. The Earl Grey flavor was watery and gross. I ended up tossing it and didn't even bother getting a replacement because I was given the Taro Pearl Milk Tea, but that ended up being horrible too. The Taro Pearl Milk Tea you can see all the powder on the bottom of the cup. I saw the team member pouring in 6 scoops of Taro Powder which left me shook because when I made Taro Milk Teas in the past I definitely did not add that many scoops. That is an absurd amount of sweetness in the powder already. Even with 30% sweetness it tasted like it was extra sweetness. It was so bad that I drank 1/4 of the drink and tossed it. The boba pearls are actually not bad and have a nice chewy texture, but if the drinks itself are such bad quality then it doesn't matter any ways. Millbrae has some decent options for boba, but this is one I would personally avoid this shop because there is an issue with the quality of the drinks and just fails at every aspect that makes a boba shop good. A bag is always a good thing. I was curious to taste this Lemon Smoothie, just as my husband was curious to change his regular choice of classic Black Tea with Milk to Thai Milk Tea. What can I say after the first sip is that my drink was super fresh and, well, lemony - and I loved it. My husband was also pleased and said he would remember this tea and try it occasionally instead of his regular option. At this point, it's hard for me to review this place because, unfortunately, while we enjoyed our drinks, I can't say that I'd prefer to go here over my other main places. I decided to try a non milk tea this time and got the elegant rose with aloe. I also added boba and specified 30% sugar. My first impression was that the drink looked really watery. I was expecting a nice red hue but it was a very pale pink color. It was okay, some light floral notes but I felt like it could have been a lot stronger. 30% sugar was okay, if it were 0 it probably would have been pretty tasteless. Boba was okay. Came here during happy hour 5pm-7:30 and asked what was for happy hour. The cashier told me "everything"...I ended up getting their popcorn chicken which came out to be around $4.30. I ordered and went to the store across the street for 8 minutes, came back and the popcorn chicken was still not done. There was 4 people working and pretty much just standing there talking and on their phone. (Definitely wouldn't recommend staffing so many people there for the time being). I've passed by this place a couple times and it seemed to be pretty dead or have 2 customers. I came back and they almost gave my popcorn chicken to another lady that ordered after me. I looked at the chicken and it looked normal. But when I actually tasted it - the batter was so crispy. Definitely more crispy and fluffy than the ones I've eaten at other T4 locations. They seasoned it so well that the taste was amazing! The inside was moist and flavorful! Definitely loved the chicken! I would come back during HH for the popcorn chicken. Overall chicken was amazing, but I wished service was better. I wish they tried to sell me boba or tell me more about their specials during HH. Anyway, drinks are always okay with some occasional mishaps where the order is wrong...but what made it really 2 stars is the fact that their agar pearl or white boba is now $1.00 as an add on, up from $0.75. That's expensive for an add on. The cashier explained it was taxed, but in what county is tax 33% of the price? My receipt shows tax was charged to the whole order after adding in the $1 for the add on. Just admit the add one are now $1 instead of making stuff up. Looks bad for the business. 2023 update for Hu Tong Jian Bing, as they might be no more at Millbrae's T4 (that was an unintentional rhyme). Around the summer of 2022, T4's square site for online orders still had the jian bing listed under snacks, but what happened was after I successfully placed the order, and went in to check on the pickup, the staff let me know that due to their running out of ingredients they weren't able to fulfill the order. At that time it wasn't indicated that they were not partnering with HTJB. Fast forward to today, the jian bing is no longer listed on their square site, so just assuming they are no longer partnering with HTJB - as has happened with many of HTJB's former partners. Also, I never really liked the drinks at T4 lol (I find their drinks watered down / sugary), but not gonna give lower than 2 stars since I haven't tried their drinks in the last year, and appreciate the times I was able to get HTJB. read more

I like that they are open late - until 10pm on a weeknight! The inside is also clean and bright. They have an extensive bubble tea menu with reasonable prices. We got a large red bean milk tea with top cream and boba, and the total came to about $6.50. You can also customize how much ice and sugar. T4 is one of my regular spots for boba in the area. They're not doing anything fancy but it satisfies the boba craving. They also have snacks and that's a plus for me too! They normally have a student discount if you show your student ID. My favorite drink (which may sound strange) is Ginger Milk Tea.
