Located inside the jagalchi market, lots of seating and the staffs are very efficient. Menu is straight forward with lots of random unheard drinks, great for those that want to try something new. Got the rose tteokbokki and it's an absolute star, must try. For $16 it is on the heftier price end of things. Matcha strawberry latte was awful, watered down matcha with strawberry jam

Looking for dessert and found this great Koran bakery ! They have a beautiful selection of pastries many made with rice flour. The textures is a bit different but the flavors are excellent. We really loved the slice of chocolate cake - it was light and creamy. The sweet potato cake was ok but lacked the flavor of the sweet potato The strawberry cake was our 2 nd favorite- lots of flavor and good texture

(Jan 2026) They sell Dubai chewy cookie here

===TL;DR=== - Dubai chewy cookie ===TMI=== Finally got my hands on one of these to try in the Bay Area! Well..... "their twist" on the viral Dubai cookies. Per their advertisement: Our twist on the Dubai Chewy Cookie is made with coconut instead of kataifi to create a gluten-friendly treat. Idk if that's a good or bad thing but personally, the coconut flavor is quite strong I must say. So for those who's not fond of coconut, keep this in mind. Otherwise, the flavor is quite balanced. Not overly sweet and I feel like the texture can be crunchier. One day, I'll have the "real" ones to compare! Until then, $5 fix ain't bad.

No kataifi or tahini...doesn't even taste like Dubai chocolate

Looking for the *Viral Dubai Chocolate Chewy Cookie* that's blown up in Korea? Currently, Basquia Bakery inside Jagalchi is the only brick and mortar that sells it in The Bay. I'm sure this will quickly change and be found elsewhere within a week. It's a cocoa powder covered marshmallow with a pistachio cream center, crispy kataifi (toasted shredded phyllo dough), and tahini...think a Dubai chocolate mochi with a satisfying QQ chew and stretchy pull. I'm here to tell you: SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GAS! The one at Basquia is NOT it. Yes, it's only $5 compared to $8-$10 at bakery pop-ups but there's a reason why.... Instead of kataifi, they used coconut flakes and they don't use tahini. It's misleading to call it Dubai chocolate when you're missing two of the essential ingredients. It has a nice chewy and crispy texture contrast but the flavor is all wrong. The ratio of dry coconut flakes completely overpowers the pistachio cream. It also ran too sweet with no savory tahini for balance. Anyhoo, their other bakery items are equally underwhelming (read: dry) but they use rice flour for everything. YAY for peeps with gluten allergies but IMHO, a pass for the rest of us.

This bakery, Basquia, is located inside Jalgachi. I've been here a couple of times and have tried their Korean traditional drink, sikhye, which I've always enjoyed. I also tried their rice flour bread, but unfortunately it didn't have much flavor. I had the one with strawberry on top. On my most recent visit, I decided to try the milk bread and coffee castella. The coffee castella was okay, a bit dry, but the milk bread... OMG, it was so good! I'll definitely be getting it again. At this point, sikhye and the milk bread are my go-to items whenever I come here. They also have other cakes and desserts, so maybe next time I'll try something new. One time the sikhye was a little too sweet, but the staff member was incredibly kind and she added more sikhye and made sure I liked it before I left. Great customer service. The place is bright, pretty, and very clean.

After shopping at Jagalchi, I saw that they had a "Strawberry in Heaven" menu, so decided to stop by for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Our order: Café Latte ($5.00): +Drinkable temperature: Hot, but doesn't burn your mouth/tongue +Strong coffee balanced with creamy milk: They use Sightglass Coffee (SF) beans. Strawberry Matcha Latte ($6.50): +Topped with freeze dried strawberry bits, which added crunch and tartness +Generous amount of real strawberry jam +No upcharge for no ice -Even though I requested Less Sweet, it was SO SWEET. I can't imagine how sweet the unadjusted drink is... -Couldn't taste the matcha: It tasted like super sweet strawberry milk. Other items I've tried during previous visits: -Black Sesame Green Tea Cream SulPang -Matcha Soft Serve -Melokick *Verdict: Creative offerings with friendly and efficient service, but missing the mark on taste. I wouldn't go out of my way, but if I was inside Jagalchi I would stop by to see what's new.

Seasonal strawberry flavors: matcha strawberry latte and the strawberry oolong tea

Quick summary: - Inside Jagalchi grocery market - Most of their dishes are sweet buns and drinks - Dishes overall lean toward the sweet side - High review marks on the seasonal fruit drinks - Indoor seating available, just that you'll need to leave your cart outside the cafe I've been there three times and these were short visits. The first time I tried out the bun desserts that I have seen being advertised in front of the cafe. I forgot which ones I tried, but for me having one was enough. Eating more of them, I was overwhelmed with the interior cream stuffed inside. Instead, my attention and praise lands on the seasonal drinks, particularly their fruit drinks. In the summer, we tried out their watermelon drink and this was super good. Since the Jagalchi carts have a cup holder, we drank that as we walked through the aisles, and we loved it so much we ordered another cup. The second round is during this winter season. The seasonal fruit this time around was strawberry. There was a new menu that listed off all the different drinks in a strawberry. From this menu we ordered two from here: the strawberry oolong and the strawberry matcha latte. The ones we chose were iced, but we were pretty warm at the time; the cold drink turned out to be perfect.

Basquia Bakery is a charming spot located inside the Jagalchi Korean Market, which is connected to the mall. Cute, spacious, and aesthetic, it's a great place to catch up with friends, go on a date, or grab a bite before or after grocery shopping. Because Jagalchi also has great quick food options, my family bought a few items from the market and then picked up food from Basquia to enjoy a nice lunch together in the seating area. Basquia offers the bakery classics, from fresh breads, cakes, and popular café drinks, but what makes it stand out is the addition of distinctly Korean food menu items. The lighting is bright yet calming, and there's plenty of seating. The staff was patient and friendly, a sweet *Pane Rose Tteokbokki: This was great! It had a flavorful kick with just the right amount of spice, balanced by the creaminess typical of Korean rose sauce. There was a generous portion of tteokbokki, plus little pieces of toasted bread that complemented it well. The bread bowl itself was an added bonus that made it perfect for tearing apart and eating with the sauce. This dish can comfortably be shared between two people or enjoyed by one very hungry person. *Strawberry Matcha Latte: This was a delicious classic. The balance and amount of strawberry compote and matcha was spot-on. It wasn't overly sweet, and the strawberry flavor really stood out. I only wish it came in a clear cup for a better photo, but that's a small detail compared to how good it tasted. Overall, Basquia Bakery is a lovely spot, and I'm glad it's here! I recommend eating before grocery shopping; I always end up buying more food when I'm hungry without realizing it. I'd definitely come back again with my family or to catch up with friends when I visit Daly City.

    Way too sweet

So this bakery is known for their rice flour rather than cake flour, so it's great for gluten free people. I find their bread hard and not tasty, because of the rice flour. Their melon drink with banana cream was way too sweet and in general the prices here are 30% higher than 85 bakery nearby.

Basquia Bakery was a bit of a let down with food more for Instagram, but none of the substance. WIth all the hype around Jagalchi, I was excited and impressed with the aesthetics of the whole place. Basquia Bakery is one of the businesses that is readily accessible from the Korean market. Unfortunately, none of the food items that I tried were enough for me to recommend coming back. Pane Tteokbokki (2.5/5): Given the high reviews, I admittedly came with high expectations but was left underwhelmed. The rose sauce was a good mix of spicy and creamy. However, the tteok (rice cakes) inside were soggy to the point where it felt overcooked. Plus, not sure if having the tteokbokki in a bread bowl adds anything to the experience except more carbs? Sweet Potato Cake (4/5): Such a satisfying not-too-sweet bite! The sweet potato adds the right amount of sweetness and extra texture to each bite. I would have given more but the mousse felt like it had ice in it as if it had been in the freezer. Black Sesame Ssulpang (3/5): Slightly sweet with a slight taste of makgeoli which is Korean rice wine. It also had a light black sesame flavor to it, but wish there was a bit more. Maybe the flavor was overpowered by the cream which was okay but felt out of place. Service was pretty quick. As mentioned earlier, this is connected to Jagalchi so the parking is dependent on how busy the market and surrounding businesses are. Overall, Basquia Bakery has beautiful products, but I would be reluctant in going back.

Service was quick and there was still ample selection during our visit on the weekday evening. Sulpang had a variety of flavors and were not too sweet. Fruit flavors were obviously there and not too overwhelming. A tasty treat if you're in the area!!

From the top: Melon, custard, and chocolate sulpang.

This bakery is a great place to visit on a Monday evening. In contrast to how busy it is on weekends, it's quiet and there's plenty of seating. The seating area is always very clean and well kept. Staff here works hard. Cashier Shin was very accommodating in helping us pack cakes separately. We got three of the sulpang: chocolate, cream, and melon. Of the three, my favorite was the chocolate. All three are Not Too Sweet. Overall I would recommend for an easy weekday dessert!

The cake flavors are amazing, and I love that they have mini cupcakes of such a variety of flavors. But they are also one of the most talented cake artists. I contacted them on whim last year when my default baker went out of business and I needed a cake for my kids birthday party. It was a Bluey themed party, and they really came through with everything. Sometimes its hard going with someone new, especially when you don't know what to expect. But I knew their cupcakes were amazing so figured it was worth the risk. But they created the most amazing cake that was beautiful, moist and flavorful. This year, we choose a hawaiian theme and then subthemes of a Hawaiian Hello Kitty, Hawaiian Squishmellows, and Hawaiian teenage mutant ninja turtles. It was a challenge to put it all together but they did it and I was so happy with the results! And the cake literally melt in our mouths (the berry flavors, for anyone interested). Everyone has been so easy to work with and I love that they do a consultation to get information on what you are looking for. Highly recommend if looking for a mini sweet treat, or bigger sweet treat. Or any speciality cakes. Oh yea, did I mention they make macaroons and cake pops too!? Literally can't go wrong with anything here.

My son's been obsessed with MUNI buses and trains lately so I told her that either one would work. We communicated back and forth through email and Shirley was very prompt in responding. I paid the deposit and the amount due before the time frame.
