Food was great, service was great. A lot of reviews mentioned the banchan being good and to my surprise it really was! My BF really liked their kimchi. It's a small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating available.

My Korean friend told me there's not really great Korean food in sf and that helped temper expectations. This place is a cute corner restaurant with friendly service but the food is not great. Not terrible but not very good imo. There's almost always a line, I guess it's affordable and friendly service.

Absolutely love this place and you will not be disappointed! I love a good bibimbap and the one at Manna is so delicious! It is loaded up with veggies and flavors. Add in the kimchi they give and the house sauce, which they give for free, and it takes the dish to the next level! The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. It is a small location and can get a little cramped when it's busy, but they more than make up for this with the quality of service and food. Can't wait to come back again!

Have been coming here since high school and it still does not disappoint! I think the popularity has blown up lately because I've seen lines the last few times I've passed by. Luckily we got a table right away on a Friday afternoon! Service is quick and efficient. Restaurant is clean and small, but comfortable. We ordered the lunch specials, 2 Korean tofu soups and soy sauce chicken wings! Both amazing, along with some of the best bonchon! Would absolutely come back!

This place was chefs kiss. Taste: I loved all the banchans and the cold noodles! So yummy. The price was reasonable too :) Parking: I won't lie, this was difficult. It's street parking so you need to get lucky. Service: Kind and accommodating

Second time frequenting Manna, didn't honestly hit the same as the first experience as the service was not up to par for some reason :( Manna has been serving the neighborhood for decades and I can see why locals love this SF Korean staple; authentic, homey, cozy, affordable hold in the wall comfort Korean food! Some notes: there is a waitlist especially on weekends where you write your name down. For some reason the experience this time around was with poor waitlist organization, another party of two that arrived late was seated before us as we were next on the list. It's a waitlist not a latelist haha! Manna serves unlimited banchans so if you're like me, free appetizers so order the entrees to your hearts content! On to the food.... BBQ chicken: tender for what it is with a sweet heat moment. Pair it with the side of white rice for a filling sizzling platter goodness Yum Gae Jang (bean sprout stew) Soft flavor profile, didn't hit as other places, probably could use more fish sauce or even MSG. Was a good pallete cleanse for the bbq chicken and ban chan but would not order again.

Return visit for late lunch/early dinner. We ordered the same dishes - beef bibimbap and seafood tofu soup. The dishes of ban chan were good especially the fish cake, potato strands and kimchi. The tofu soup had lots of baby oysters, clams and small shrimp, arrived piping hot and was delicious. Hubby's rice bowl had a really nice crispy rice layer on the bottom. Manna's been opened at least 10 yrs now and so good to see it's still doing great in the neighborhood.

Has been my go-to Korean restaurant since my high school years, a Sunset district local hole-in-the-wall spot that does not disappoint and satisfies cravings for Korean food! Here are my tips and recommendations: -Expect a 10-40min wait time during peak hours (shorter times for smaller parties) -Best for parties of 2-4 people -Parking is difficult to find around Irving (take public transit like the N Judah line where possible) -I love their free complementary side dishes! And you can ask for a refill -Some of the dishes I tried: 1. Seafood pancake (appetizer): comes with a variety of seafood like shrimp and octopus, tastes fresh (not fishy), perfect with a little bit of soy sauce 2. Dae Ji Bul Kogi (spicy BBQ pork): comes out steaming and sizzling on the hot plate, flavorful grilled meat, not too spicy 3. Kanpoongki (Sweet and spicy chicken wings): super crispy skin, tender and soft inside, delicious sauce to cover it all We also got the kimchi fried rice and royal courts dok boki (rice cake and fish cake, not spicy). These are also good dishes especially if you are craving kimchi fried rice or want something not spicy. The kimchi fried rice was a little soggy this time, but otherwise pretty good. For the dok boki, I reccomend getting the spicy version if you can handle spice. Total for 4 people after tip: Around $115 (or $28.75 per person) Highly recommend this spot for smaller groups looking to eat good Korean food!

I came here a few years ago but most recently wanted to try it out again. There's always a wait for dinner, so I recommend arriving early to grab a table inside if possible. Most of the time, you will be waiting outside which is always pretty cold at night. Theres actually very little space to move around inside so definitely keep that in mind when you visit. I got the Seafood Tofu Soup. I was quite taken back by the flavor since it tasted like they used miso as the base. Korean tofu soups typically use anchovy stock as base to give the soup a rich flavor. That was definitely a bit disappointing. They do give a decent amount of small seafood bits like mussel, clam, and squid. By the end of the meal, the soup ended up tasting very overly salty. The rice was very fresh though. This is such a popular restaurant in the area but the food quality is quite disappointing. You can definitely get better quality elsewhere for the same price.

Wowww -- I've been on the hunt for a yummy Korean restaurant in SF that's not AYCE, and this place was such a pleasant surprise! Service was fast, and all of our food came out quickly. The banchan were fresh and flavorful too, which is always a great sign. Definitely recommend putting yourself on the waitlist ahead of time because the restaurant is very small with only a few tables. Parking in the area can also be tricky, so give yourself extra time to find a spot. What we ordered: * Kalbi: delicious and grilled to perfection * Tofu soup: great flavor with the perfect amount of tofu * Kimchi fried rice: loved the egg, though I wish it was just a tad spicier *Spicy BBQ pork: served on a bed of grilled onions and super yummy -- I'm usually not a big pork fan, but I really enjoyed this dish We ordered 4 dishes for 4 people and it was the perfect amount. Would definitely come back!

This place has Stiff competition in the area but this is a charming and enjoyable Korean spot. We had the soy sauce chicken wings, kimchi fried rice, bulgogi (#2), and seafood kimchi pancake. The seafood pancake was huge and probably best item, followed by the chicken wings. Bulgogi and kimchi fried rice were fine but a little underwhelming (bulgogi was not as seasoned as some other places that do it excellent, we thought arias kimchi fried rice rice was better). They serve nice bonchon and rice with meal. Portion sizes were generous/generally as expected with Korean food. Price points felt very fair. Small restaurant and can be a bit of a wait. Staff is please albeit busy. We are indoors but some brave folks ate outside. We would comeback if line is not too long and we are in area. Want to try the spicy pork, it looked good!

Always a solid Korean option. Literally have been going here since HS. Only in person sign up waitlist. If your table is almost ready, you can order before you sit down The restaurant is quite small, about 11 indoor tables, 4 outdoor tables. Weekday lunch deal, the menu is cheaper from $1-$10 compared to regular menu. Bonchon is yummy and you can refill. Kal-bi or Galbi ($21.99) was on a grill plate, so it was hot. The marinade on the meat is quite sugary, but the meat was tender and good flavor. Overall, good Korean food option, the wait can be long if the restaurant is busy.

tldr popular local sunset spot serving korean classics in a small cozy restaurant i have come here a few times now and it has consistently been a solid spot for korean food! parking may be difficult to find. on cold days, the line can get long so make sure u put yourself on the written waitlist that is on the door itself. i usually get the bubbling hot tofu stew with beef or seafood and it's got great flavor. all the food here is usually burning hot so just beware. the wings are also fried pretty well and taste good. i really like their kimchi here and overall would recommend if you are in the area. the service is average and may feel a bit rushed imo. food 4/5 service 3.75/5 ambiance 3.5/5 value 3.75/5

It was comfortably mellow, which made for a peaceful meal. We shared 4 dishes, starting with the Mulhwe Noodle per the staff's recommendation. This dish was very refreshing. I was a little worried that the chili broth was going to be spicy given the bright color, but it wasn't at all. The broth was light and enjoyable. The amberjack was also very good. Next, we had the Hokkaido Uni Scallop Toast. The bread was soft, buttery, and crispy. The uni and scallop were creamy, fresh, and not overpowering in flavor. The whole thing blended and melted together. The Braised Black Cod was a delight with the variety of textures and flavors. The fish was soft and almost custard-y. The barley and butternut squash puree were nice additions and paired really well. The sauce was delicious. The Galbi Steak was a standout. We added on the lettuce wraps and ssamjang, and I highly recommend this. The galbi was tender and juicy. It was good on its own but adding it in a lettuce wrap with the ssamjang took it to another level. Overall, I had a great dinner. I enjoyed all the flavors.

Granted we were a bit late for our reservation, we ended up having to wait another 30-40 mins. The place (2nd floor) is small & awkward. We were all cramped waiting on the stairway and the actual seating area is also fairly small for a busy KBBQ place/big parties. The 8 of us squeezed into a booth with 2 chairs on the side. You can also feel whenever the table next to us got up and stomped/yelled/moved in their chairs-- which was really often. The basic AYCE menu is fairly limited-- esp for the side options. The marinated meats were pretty good as was the tteokbokki. Side & meat portions were alright, but the kicker is having to flag down staff to make sure they put in the order & bring it out. We asked for japchae about 5 times before it actually reached our table towards the end of our meal. The server/manager also told us that he had accidentally brought out 2 bottles of soju for us and that he'd COMP 1 bottle. We didnt notice that he had actually charged us for 2 and comped/subtracted a "third" one. So none were really comped at all. I just realized after we paid and that felt really sketchy. Idk if it's worth coming back here.
