As a celiac, I love a place that's gluten free. The garlic shrimp was delicious, the mochi chunks in the hurricane tots were excellent, and the tots were pretty good too. the shrimp were in their shells, so be prepared to de-shell the shrimps. The shrimp/sausage, came with tons of rice and a bit of cabbage. The pineapple sausage was fine, no complaints but the shrimp was better. read more

A solid place for take out. Small menu, but they have a lot of Hawaiian classics. I got half orders of the shrimp + sausage, moco loco, and furikake chicken. It was pretty filling for two people. They give a lot of rice. Wish there was more protein. Everything was good though. Seems like they have lunch specials during the week for high schoolers at Lincoln. Would come back to try the shaved ice. read more

I finally tried this place as I always been admiring the food photos posted on the windows and wow, they are good. I tried their special and great flavors of the pineapple sausage with spicy garlic butter sauce, cabbage and rice . I licked the plate clean! . From their regular menu, You can get half or full orders depending how hungry you are. I look forward to try their other dishes which also sounded nice. Little Aloha is a takeout-only kitchen offering their spin of Hawaii dishes like shave ice, loco moco, and garlic shrimp rice plates. They also have pre-packaged Hawaiian treats on their small shelf. They are a gluten free kitchen which is nice how they are upfront about it and also their website has an allergen guide. It was yummy in my tummy! And I would love to come back for great food. read more

This little grab and go place on Taraval street serves Hawaiian food, mainly protein on cooked cabbage leaves alongside a heap of rice. Order at the kiosk or counter at this brightly lit spot and within about 10 minutes, you can pick up your order. We ordered half and full orders of sausage, fried chicken and shrimp. Prices are reasonable for a quick warm meal. read more

Tried this spot because of the good reviews. But if you have been to Hawaii, I can't recommend this spot because the flavors did not remind me of Hawaii at all. Also, nothing is served with mac salad... The prices are pretty decent for SF. Maybe that's why this place is popular. They are takeout only and have one bench outside for you to eat at if it's free. Tried the garlic shrimp, the moco loco (idk why they swap the words), and the furikake chicken. Also had a spam musubi (when I ordered online for pick up, I couldn't add egg which is usually an option according to the Toast website). The garlic shrimp was missing a flavor that Hawaii has in their garlic shrimp. The color was very red but it was not spicy. They do have an option to make it spicy though. It was bland to me compared to what I'm used to when I visit Hawaii. The moco loco gravy was good, but the beef patty tasted dry and overcooked. They did have a runny egg too but it was oddly underneath the patties, so we broke the eggs while trying to split the beef amongst 3 people. The furikake chicken is probably better if you eat it right away since it's lightly breaded. We took it home so by the time we ate it, it was soggy. The sauce it is cooked in is a little sweet and wasn't too bad. The soggy chicken ruined the texture for me though. Each dish was served with a little bit of cabbage which I liked to get a little greens in the meals. The spam musubi didn't taste like it had any sauce, and they used so much furikake underneath the spam, that it made it taste fishy. Would not recommend. I can't comment on the service much since I ordered online for pickup. The guy who handed me my food after asking my name was nice and polite though. The only reason I'd come back is to try to the shave ice. The group in front of me got 3 for their kids, and it looked tasty. I would not come back for the food, but at least the prices aren't bad for SF standards. read more

So happy I finally tried Little Aloha! The flavors were delicious. I tried the tofu poke and the garlic shrimp and both were ono! The shrimp were perfectly crispy and the garlic butter sauce stuck to it well without making it soggy. Also you can't beat these prices. Such a perfect place for lunch. I'll be coming back! I won a gc to little aloha and today we came here to pick up dinner. We ordered furikake chicken and the tater tots. It's a lot of food and we couldn't finish it. The chicken was delicious! Quick and easy meal! Live super close and always stop by to see if they have spam musubi (but for some reason they are ALWAYS sold out??) - maybe I have to come right when they open ‍ Since they were out of the spam musubi decided to get the furikake chicken plate (half) and it was delicious! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. YUM! Will definitely be going back again for the chicken (and to see if I can finally get some musubi) read more

Little Aloha - Half furikake chicken plate! - Hawaiian Near Me - San Francisco, California

Our Christmas luncheon was catered by Little Aloha. I've had them bookmarked for awhile but haven't been yet. I actually wanted to go for the shave ice, so the luncheon catered by them was a nice surprise. There was garlic shrimp, furikake chicken, tofu poke, steamed cabbage, hurricane tots, and steamed rice from Little Aloha. The garlic shrimp was good as was the furikake chicken. Almost as good as having it back on the 'aina. The tots were a strange menu item. The arare on top threw me off, and tots are just rarely found on the menu in Hawai'i. The standout to me was the tofu poke. My coworker noted that it was a cross Btwn having mac salad and poke but no Mac involved, and I can totally see where she got that from. Funny enough I don't know if it was labeled from the restaurant or our hosts but it said "jasmine rice" on the label. It was clearly NOT jasmine rice bc most "Hawaiian" food establishments don't serve jasmine rice but some kind of medium grain as it sticks together: Hinode, Nishike, Botan, Kokuho Rose. I need to go to the actual spot for more tofu poke and maybe shave ice. read more

This place makes food fresh! Furikake chicken was the best! Crunchy outside, large thick pieces! Will order again Garlic shrimp with original sauce was alright. Half an order has 4 shrimps. Won't order again. Maybe I should have ordered it spicy. Service was honest. I was concerned of any sauces make the rice mushy so I opted for no soy glaze for the furikake chicken but the cashier said that it wouldn't taste as good and they reassured the two dishes I wasn't saucy. They were right! Service was a bit rude to the food delivery person, slightly raising her voice saying the order wasn't ready yet. Will be back! read more

Scrumptious food, large portions, and fast service. Tried their garlic and sausage shrimp dish. Food came out freshly made and hot. Heavy and delicious spice on each bite of shrimp. Came with a large serving of rice. Partner got the tofu. He enjoyed it a lot. I did try a piece and prefer my tofu to be more solid. The tofu was very soft and melted in my mouth. Had good flavor but again I like it extra firm. Also got a Hawaiian shaved ice with was phenomenal. Brought me back to my time in Maui enjoying a sweet treat. I'll def be back for more ice! read more

Finally found a place in the city that isn't part of a huge Hawaiian BBQ chain and actually serves really good food. Little Aloha feels like a modern mom-and-pop shop with heart. They even have a self-ordering kiosk tucked in the corner which is super convenient when it gets busy. I was excited to see they offer shaved ice and their prices are very fair, especially if you want to sample a bit of everything from their main entrees. I loved both the loco moco and the furikake chicken. The portions were generous and I really appreciated that they give you a side of lightly seasoned cabbage mixed in instead of the usual macaroni salad. That said, I won't lie because I do miss the mac salad and kind of wish they made it too. This is mainly a takeout spot since there are no tables inside, but there's a bench out front and a nice park just half a block away. I definitely recommend parking near the park so you can avoid the hassle of metered street parking. It's free there and makes the whole pickup process easier. The staff inside are super friendly and the energy they give off really matches the food. The chicken was fresh with a perfectly crunchy coating and the poached egg under the meat patty in the loco moco was done beautifully. It mixed into the rice so well. Speaking of rice, theirs was cooked perfectly! You could taste each individual grain and it had that just-right texture, not hard or mushy. I'm really happy I found this place. It's the kind of spot that you can tell is run with a lot of care and passion. Everything from the food to the way they treat their customers just feels warm and welcoming. It reminds me of the type of places I used to go to when I was younger. Simple and no-frills, but full of flavor and heart. I'll definitely be coming back again and again, whether I'm craving a quick meal, need a taste of comfort, or just want to support a local business doing things right. If you haven't tried it yet, you're seriously missing out. read more

Great little to-go Hawaiian spot! Ordered the furikake chicken from the menu and it was a nice one-person portion with a side of cabbage. I loved that they had this on the menu - the chicken was juicy popcorn chicken with a light teriyaki / nori sweetness. We stopped by for some quick takeout and were really impressed. The garlic shrimp was the standout for me, perfectly seasoned, super flavorful, and tasted really fresh. The spam musubi was also excellent with a great rice to meat ratio which can be hard to get right. My husband had the loco moco and really enjoyed it. He said the gravy was rich and the patty was cooked just right. Service was quick and efficient, and everything was packaged well for takeout. Little Aloha definitely hit the spot for Hawaiian food. It's a pretty unassuming takeout-only store, but I definitely think that they're worth a visit. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and were able to get our food fairly quickly. We ordered the Shrimp + Sausage plate. I appreciate that they offer both half and full orders; I felt like the portion of the full was reasonable but would have appreciated some more shrimp and sausage. The garlic shrimp was DELICIOUS--it reminded me of the ones I had in Hawaii. The flavor was so good, and the sauce soaking into the rice was also amazing. The pineapple sausage was fine but not something I would necessarily order again; I would probably get all shrimp in the future. Overall, I felt like it was a solid meal for a decent price. Service was extremely fast; we basically got our order a few minutes after placing it. I definitely want to come back to try their spam musubi (which was sadly sold out when we arrived) and shaved ice. The customer in front of us ordered one, and it looked PHENOMENAL. read more

Little Aloha - Hawaiian Near Me - San Francisco, California

Aloha SF and Mahalo Hawaii -- Little Aloha is the most authentic take on Hawaiian food that I've found in this area. This small, hearty grab-and-go spot is located along a street with several other quick bite options and just a few blocks down from the beach. Inside, if you're familiar with Hawaiian snacks, you'll know they've got the good stuff here -- from candy to Hurricane Popcorn. The cashier was patient and sweet while waiting for us to decide what we were going to order. We ended up getting a shaved ice, chicken katsu, shrimp scampi, and the loco moco. If you're ordering both food and shaved ice, and it's not busy, I suggest ordering your food first and then ordering the shaved ice separately afterward -- or asking for the shaved ice to come out later. For us, it was the first thing that came out, leaving us with no choice but to eat it first. We got guava and mango with a snow cap. I had high hopes for this shaved ice, but unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations compared to places like Ululani's and Waiola. Even though we added a snow cap, it seemed as though the condensed milk was either watered down or they didn't add enough for our liking -- we probably could have asked for more. However, there was plenty of syrup in the shaved ice, even at the bottom, so there was no lack of flavor there. For the shrimp, I ordered the regular garlic shrimp don with the spicy sauce on the side. The shrimp itself was cooked well but was a bit bland. I absolutely fell in love with the spicy sauce -- it tasted similar to the Buldak ramen sauce but less spicy, so you could eat the whole thing without dying. The fried chicken dish was okay, not my favorite. The loco moco, however, was quite disappointing. Overall, I had high hopes for this place, but it just doesn't compare to what's available in Hawaii itself. Still, it's the closest spot I've found that serves authentic-style Hawaiian food. read more

Finally got to try this cute little takeout spot. If you're craving north shore style garlic shrimp, look no further. My hubs and both loved our choices, him choosing the half and half sausage + garlic shrimp, and I going with the full garlic shrimp. Each piece was juicy and so flavorful. The spicy garlic shrimp is more smoky than spicy. The rice soaked up all the buttery goodness. And the tater tots. Yumm! Definitely want to come back to try their hurricane shrimp and shave ice for dessert. read more

This is my daughter's new fav shaved ice spot, and there's limited seating outside. I guess it's better than nothing. I didn't like the sweetness on the chicken, but I think that's the style of the cuisine. There's nothing great or bad about the customer service. read more

We ordered takeout from Little Aloha and was very pleased with our lunch. My favorite items were tofu poke and furikake chicken, although the garlic shrimp and loco moco were not bad either. Each entree was individually boxed with rice and cabbage. I also picked up a couple spam masubis -- you can never go wrong with spam and rice. This is a takeout place only. You can order online or at the kiosk on-site, but the spam masubis were not available online for some reason. I ordered them upon arrival and they already had enough of them prepackaged. I cannot wait to come back for their Hawaiian shave ice. read more

What a great sweet treat! I was honestly so surprised at how affordable the prices were. I just ordered a small shaved ice, and I'm very glad I didn't get the large because the portion was huge! For flavors, I ordered the lychee, coconut, and mango, which paired so well together and tasted great. There was a long line and most customers were putting in lunch orders, so I'm looking forward to trying their lunch menu the next time I'm in the area! Staff were really kind and pretty quick. It's a very cute, trendy spot for Hawaiian treats! read more

PRO-TIP: Weekday lunch specials are from 11:30 AM - 1 PM and is only $6. The regular prices I feel like are already super affordable for Hawaiian cuisine in comparison to the franchises and in comparison to what's expected of how costly SF is. We got the Pineapple Sausage meal for the lunch special which is just a small container with sauteed cabbage, house made garlic butter sauce, rice, and pineapple sausage. Good amount of slice sausage, some sweetness with the spiciness and garlicky flavor is great and it's balanced with the slight crunch of the cabbage. Delicious. Definitely recommend it, will for sure be coming back. read more

We ordered the furikake chicken, the shrimp combo plate, and the spicy tots, and sadly we didn't really enjoy any of it. Nothing tasted terrible, but the chicken wasn't very good, and the shrimp had very little flavor once peeled. The pineapple sausage and tater tots were pretty straightforward and mostly just tasted like they had spicy mayo on them, so nothing felt especially memorable. They were also out of Spam musubi, and the menu options were pretty limited. It's a very small place with no real seating besides a few chairs outside and no tables, but the girl who took our order was nice. read more

Little Aloha nails it on Hawaiian flavour -- the garlic shrimp is incredible, buttery, and loaded with garlicky goodness. The furikake chicken and spam musubi are also top-notch comfort bites that hit all the right notes. I can't eat this all the time, but it does hit some degree of satisfaction each time my husband and I do takeout here. I usually order the Shrimp & Sausage main, which comes with housemade garlic butter (delicious and addictive), and pineapple sausage, which is quite the sweet and salty combo. My husband always gets the Loco Moco, which is also very satisfying. Even if you get the full order with two patties, they only give you one egg FYI. We also somewhat like the furikake fries, but only because I feel like we're always craving a side, but they don't have anything like mac salad. They do have Spam Masubi, which is delicious too. We've had the purple potato salad before, and it was no big deal unfortunately- skip that one. They have the Shaved Ice too, which is DELICIOUS and very, very satisfying, if you're craving that little taste of Aloha. However, you can't order it ahead of time with the food - you basically have to order it when you arrive, which did take forever for the server to make it for me (bizarre since I was the only customer in there, he was the only cashier, someone else was cooking preparing the hot food, and THAT food was also ready for me on the counter). They have all the true flavors of Lilikoi, Blue Hawaii, Lychee, POG, etc. You can pick a few flavors, which is helpful. If you want to add ice cream, which I would, you have to pay another $2.50. The whole Shaved Ice dessert, even if you order the small one (and it's HUGE!), will still come out to about $9.50 with tax etc., which is super annoying...it's just expensive Suggestions for improvement? I wish they had more Hawaiian plates to choose from. There aren't many dishes here, some favorites I was hoping for include the Macaroni Salad, Chicken Katsu, Poke, Chicken Teriyaki, Galbi, etc. Those are a lot of items that seem pretty typical for a Hawaiian cuisine restaurant. Another suggestion - their hours are horrible. Why do they close at 6:45 pm?! That makes no sense!!! It's frustrating when my husband and I do crave this, and by the time want to order, it's closed. Huge bummer. Overall, I love the food here, and have definitely been a repeat customer! read more

DoorDash prices are higher even for pick-up, and not ~0.50 like I sometimes see. FYI. I ordered via DoorDash for the buy one, get one hash browns. It was easier to buy my shrimp and sausage on the app, too. I got sour candy while there, and of course there was tax and a tip prompt. Maybe the candy isn't available at Asian supermarkets. I have only one minor nitpick with Little Aloha...I would boost the rating to 5 Stars IF they would PEEL the shrimp! There's nothing more annoying than visually feasting your eyes on something only to have the perfect bite turn into a mouth full of shrimp legs & shell! The whole experience was marred every single bite because of the shells! Maybe using shell on shrimp is cheaper....but I would GLADLY pay to not have a mouth full of dead legs and shells! read more

Great little place in the sunset. One of the best things is about this place is the price - whereas everything in the City is so super expensive, this place is pretty reasonably priced - I have a relative who lives near by, we've been here a few times. Also portions are good sized, which I love because so many places, especially in this area give you those tiny portions where you pay a lot but leave still hungry. Also I love rice and again, a lot of these places have bad rice, old and crispy or not fresh - the rice here is superb. I love it. Great place. read more

Small place, BIG FLAVOR!! Yet again, had a pre concert meal with my sister. The menu is limited but they all sound so delicious. We waited on a bench outside for our food and they brought it out! Very nice workers!!! We both got the full plates of our entrees and a side of tots!! We ate in the car parked around the corner enjoying our food and music :) She enjoyed her garlic shrimp, and I really liked my pineapple sausage! I could eat five pounds of it. So freaking yum..!!!!!! The garlic sauce was so yummy on the sausage, but I was not a fan of it soaked into my rice. The garlic taste was a bit overwhelming on the plain rice, and therefore I knocked a star. I felt like I could not enjoy my rice . Sorry. BUT IT WAS STILL DELICIOUS!!! and the TOTS!!!! could not get enough they were so yummy. Many Hawaiian Sun flavors, my sister went with the P.O.G. and I got Green Tea Lychee. was so good . Got this for lunch with my man. He thought the portion sizes via Yelp Photos were for 'ants'. However after completion- I'd say the portions were generous. Lots of shrimp pieces. I didn't count but I'd say 8 pieces give or take plus. Plenty of rice. Maybe not enough cabbage if anything. He got the (original) half garlic shrimp half pineapple sausage while I got the (spicy) garlic shrimp; we opted for full over half orders for both. And got the sweet potatoe salad - super good. There is no in door dining - a little bit of shame. But food was well worth. He said he'd get this again. read more
