Biscuits & Gravy*
Abriana B.

We went to breakfast here before hitting the road. Overall, a pretty good spot. They have ample seating, both indoor and outdoor, which was nice. Service was quick and although I'm not a breakfast person, the food wasn't bad. My bf got their special pancake of the month, he liked it a lot, it was a little too sweet for my liking. I had the biscuits and gravy which werent bad. They also had a good array of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks so could be a good brunch spot with friends.

We came from San Diego to go to a couple Padres games in Peoria. We are staying at family/friends in Queen Creek. Two of us decided to go walk Downtown Gilbert and we came across this restaurant, SNOOZE. This place was fun! Fireplace out front on the boulevard, indoor & outdoor dining and great food! We had the best Service anyone could ask for! Thank you Tonya/Tainya (spell check) for the best service anyone could ask for! You made our morning a great one! Jerry Lulu & Mike..

Celebrated a family member's birthday here this morning, and it was a great experience! I thought we might need to join the waitlist ahead of time, but there was no wait--we were seated right away. The restaurant was quiet, clean, and welcoming. Our server was so kind and patient while we figured out what to order. The menu has tons of pancake options, and the kids even went for the adult plates. (I forgot you can actually order just one pancake instead of a full plate--good to know for next time!) The Monday-Thursday breakfast deals were a perfect portion. The server even helped put a candle in one of the pancakes so we could sing "Happy Birthday!". Tip: definitely ask for your hash browns extra crispy--you won't regret it!

By far one of my favorite places for Brunch! This Gem is Tucked away in Downtown Gilbert. I come here often with my friends to catch up & enjoy wonderful food. The inside is very modern and colorful. I love sitting inside. I have also opted to sit on the patio when we have beautiful weather, that was a great experience as well. The service is always very good. The food is always delicious. &The menu has something for everyone! I love that there are so many options & they have seasonal items that are different than your average breakfast spot! I personally love their Benedicts. They have an option to try 2 different recipes, which is a nice touch is you're like me and have trouble choosing between one or the other.

Visited snooze this past weekend and was very happy with my experience. Snooze has always been our go to breakfast spot. We usually always get the same thing every time but they just recently revamped their menu which forced us to try something new. This time I tried their benny duo which had both the smashed avocado benny and the habanero pork belly benny. It was SO GOOD! Definitely not my usual but glad I got to try something new. Our server was soooo sweet and very attentive. She made sure we were happy with our food and drinks and even surprised us with a flight of pancakes at the end! Nothing to complain about at all. All in all, I've always experienced a great time at snooze and it will always be my favorite go to breakfast spot.

Food was pretty good; service (seating, wait staff, coffee, food, etc.) Was pretty good also. We sat outside for breakfast on Tuesday morning and the flies were pretty bad, so bad it was hard to enjoy breakfast on a nice morning outside. Bella, Bella Benedict was good, but the prosciutto was kinda gristle and tough to cut but otherwise everything else was tasty. I had the shrimp and grits and our waiter cautioned me that the chorizo was kinda spicy, which made me look forward to it even more. Unfortunately, the chorizo was not spicy at all and the shrimp did not have much seasoning flavor but the grits were good and I finished it all! They have a great location, plenty of free parking around the back and a very nice menu so I'll probably return to try some of their other items.

I have never been disappointed here at snooze. Always 5 stars with great service. Normally I get their sweet potato bowl which is great but the habanero breakfast fried rice will be my go to order for now on! I also got their lavender latte which was great. The patio area is beautiful to eat outside on a good day.

Went here on a Thursday morning to celebrate a family member's birthday. We checked the online waitlist ahead of time, and there was no wait around 8:00am. The waitress was very friendly attentive, and patient, and she added a candle to the half order of Pumpkin Pancakes that we ordered (did not charge us for the pancake either). Since it was a weekday, they had their Weekday Eats specials starting at $10. I got the Two Egg Classic, which is a smaller portion than the Snooze Classic ($11). That allowed me to save my stomach to enjoy more pancakes! The Cinnamon Roll Pancakes were fantastic. I also really liked the Strawberry Shortcake Pancakes. All of them were so fluffy and flavorful. Everyone enjoyed the food and had a great time!

Service prompt and sat quickly. It was my daughters birthday and she wanted to go to Snooze! BACON BACON i love their thick cut bacon!!!! Drooling... Hello clouds of soft boiled eggs dripping in hollandaise on top of thin sliced Canadian bacon with a crispy English muffin with a side of hash browns that are served round... My daughter loved her chocolate chip pancakes and birthday pancake! Hot coconut recommended, just get it cooled down for the kiddos! The food did take a bit longer than expected to come out..worth the wait...Thank you

Came downtown Gilbert, because it seemed like a cute little place to visit. I stumbled upon this restaurant and looked at yelp and thought we give it a try and went in. We did have to wait a bit to be seated, they seemed busy, but not like the place was packed busy. We got there around 1:10pmish (inside after waiting for 5 mins for someone) and wanted to sit outside in the back as it was very open and the it was nice out. Only 2 people were out there. They said they weren't sitting anymore people because they were closing soon, I then was like "oh I'm so sorry, don't want to come to a place that's about to close" and I double checked the yelp time and it closed at 3pm and we came in at 1:10pm. I was like well there is plenty of time to eat, even outside and I understand if we came an hour or maybe 30 mins prior but I felt 2 hours was a good amount of time left. No big deal. We got a seat, They were sitting people on one side in the front by the window (booth seats) and a few others at tables. Went to the bathroom no one was in the back room but only 2 people outside. They got our drinks pretty fast but our food order took some time, which is no big deal, we are easy people! But the whole time of being there we felt rushed after our meal order was taken. The waitress was nice but very rushy. We got our meal and everything was delicious! The food didn't take too long to get to us! My husband got the pancake flight. It was pineapple upside down, strawberries and cream and cinnamon roll. I hate pancakes, waffles anything syrupy, but the pineapple upside down pancake, was so good and the best I've had. The cinnamon roll one was very delicious. The strawberries and cream was good but was like another pancake with fruit on it. My husband loved them all! I got the bravocado half toast, and the greens with it tasted amazing and refreshing, loved the dressing it came on it. The toast and eggs was so delicious. Avocado toast is my favorite and this was one of the tops I've had. The mimosas was good but not very cold, I wished it was a little colder but didn't stop me from drinking it. The waitress was very nice, I want to say that but we felt rushed the entire time until it got to wait for our check that took awhile and then it took 10 mins to check out after we gave her our card. All the rushing for the in the end to not rush for our ticket or cash us out. Oh and we left by 2:00pm. I will come back to this place the food was amazing, I'll just have to come by sooner than 1pm so I don't feel rushed and get to set outside.i

Cinnamon roll pancake

If brunch is a sport, Snooze is my home stadium. Let me just say it: the cinnamon roll pancakes? Literal dessert disguised as breakfast. I've had dreams about them. I've written poetry about them. I would fight someone for the last bite. The staff? Always sunshine in human form. Even when I roll in looking like I just barely survived the night, they treat me like I'm the queen of brunch. A true talent. Cocktails? Top tier. Their brunch drinks hit that sweet spot of "fun tipsy" without making you question all your life choices by 2 p.m. Now... a moment of silence for what once was: the biscuits and sausage gravy. Why they had to snatch that gift from the menu, I will never emotionally recover. Getting that sausage gravy on the side with my eggs was my personal love language. RIP to a real one. The vibe is funky-retro, like if a 60s diner and a Pinterest board had a brunch baby. Always buzzing, always worth the wait. Would give 6 stars if I wasn't still in mourning. Until the sausage gravy makes a comeback, you'll find me eating my feelings in pancake form.

The queso was rich without being too heavy, and the mustard added a nice contrast. For my meal, I had the Caesar salad topped with a bistro steak cooked a perfect medium rare. The romaine was crisp, the garlic-anchovy dressing bold, and the garlic croutons and parmesan tied everything together. The steak was tender, flavorful, and elevated the salad. At the table, we also ordered the cheesesteak with Angus beef, roasted peppers and onions, Havarti cheese, and garlic aioli served on a baguette, with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was hearty and satisfying, and the fries were really good The wagyu burger was another standout--topped bacon, Gruyère and smoky blue cheese, caramelized onions, tomato jam, and garlic aioli on a pub bun. The beef and bacon were fabulous and the fries cooked to perfection Jake, our server, was terrific--attentive, friendly, and helped make the whole experience even better. We finished with the butterscotch bread pudding topped with vanilla gelato and caramel sauce, which was the perfect ending--warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweetness Overall, a great patio dining experience with flavorful dishes, excellent service, and plenty of variety.

She was friendly personable and slinging drinks like she'd been there for a while. Great job to both of them! As for the food, it was phenomenal as expected but a special call out needs to be made for the butterscotch bread pudding. It was complementary for my birthday and I probably would have never tried it before but it turned out to be the best bread pudding I've had in ages. So tender and sweet delicious!! 5 stars. Highly recommend!

We came in with our family and three kids and sat on the patio since we were a larger group. After eating, our kids were sitting in chairs near our table, chatting and moving around a bit. They weren't being loud or disruptive, but a nearby a couple clearly seemed upset. The woman was shaking her head and saying to the waitress "this isn't okay to be doing while people are eating", pointing toward our kids. Once I realized this, I immediately called my kids back over and had them sit with us, and I even let her know that if something was bothering her, she could've told us and I would have addressed it right away. The couple chose to ignore us and left shortly after. The manager then came out and reassured us that Lucky Lou's is a family-friendly restaurant and that our kids were absolutely fine. That meant a lot to us and really showed how supportive and understanding the staff is. I also hope one day that couple realizes how hard it is to keep a 4-, 6-, and 8-year-old sitting at a table for more than 30 minutes without shoving an iPad in front of them. On top of that, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and I honestly had the best burger and tater tots of my life. We'll definitely be back--thank you for creating such a kid-friendly and enjoyable place for families!

The menu online looks promising, and it's very close to our home, so we decided to give it a try. This place is very bright and fresh looking, for lack of a better description. There's a bar, and a really great mural. There's an entire wall of banqettes, and some tables in the second room which is divided only by a half wall. There are some walls which I thought had exposed brick, but later noticed were wall boards. Either way, I love the look. We were seated right away and the nicest server came over. He really seems to love the restaurant and love the food, which is always a plus in my book. The boys each got a beer, and I got the Italian margarita. It was a sweet drink that kind of tasted like an Amaretto Sour, which makes sense since there's Amaretto in it. I liked it. They brought gigantic rolls with butter to the table. I really liked it because most places serve sourdough bread, and I don't really like sourdough bread. These large white rolls were yummy. I wasn't very hungry so I just ordered two meatballs, but I asked if I could have the meat sauce instead of the marinara that it usually comes with. Our server said there would be no problem with that, and there wasn't. Hubby got the spaghetti and meatballs, and son got eggplant parmesan. All of it was delicious and I give kudos for a really yummy meat sauce. For me, the meat sauce can make or break an Italian restaurant. They seem to do a pretty brisk take out business, and there were quite a few people by the time we left. I would love to come back and try the pizza, because pizzas that we saw coming out looked fantastic.

I mean that's like expecting authentic Mexican food from a place called Steve's Taco Truck. When you walk in the first thing you will notice is the contemporary look. It feels more like a college cafeteria than an Italian restaurant; warm but devoid of any personality aside from the huge 'Welcome To Gilbert' mural on the wall. They do have a well stocked bar, but when we arrived at 12:30 every table was vacant save one. Despite the great reviews this should have been our second warning. I did see in the Yelp photo's that the garlic bread was captioned as terrible, but my daughter wanted to try it so we gave it a shot. One bite and she was like "Nope". It had the thinnest layer on cheese on top and was super dense and unyielding. Moving on to the spaghetti and meatballs. My Munchkin immediate identified the meatballs as Sysco or some similar food service fare. The sauce was okay but not fresh by any measurable degree. I had the thinnest Chicken Parm ever, covered in sauce and mozzarella cheese which couldn't disguise the blandness of the chicken no matter hard it tried. Nothing about the food said fresh ingredients. We both ate about four bites and decided we were done and would head over to Oregano's. To be fair, the waitress (no personality) did take the garlic bread off the bill, but when I asked for the bill and said we didn't want to go containers for the full plates of food didn't even bat an eye like she expected as much. This place lured us in with good reviews and how busy it looks on the weekends. If our experience is any indication I give it six months tops before going under unless they do a complete overhaul from the top down.

Let me start with a little tid bit about Downtown Gilbert. There is nothing really special about it…read moreoutside of the vibe is right. Always a lot of people there so it makes you want to be there. Restaurant wise they have really basic offerings. Places you can find in Mesa, and Tempe, and Scottsdale. Now.... What truly makes Downtown Gilbert special are the small shops that are hidden away from the "main strip". One of those places is Clever Koi. Hidden in the Parking lot space behind Shaq's Chicken spot is a small strip of shops. A book store, smoothie place, and my favorite Clever Koi. Our family has very different tastes when we move from one member to the next. So finding places that we all like gets tricky. Clever Koi makes that easy because we honestly have yet to run into something we don't like. Let's start with our favorite starter. The steamed buns (giggity). The pork belly is hands down phenomenal. An amazing bite that literally makes you want more and more. The lazy fries are just that, again pork belly is included, but that garlic aioli is what drives this dish. The tai salad is obviously classic. The short rib dumplings literally make you close your eyes and just say "Mmmmmm". My middle child is the hardest pallet to please at any restaurant as he only eats certain things, but the Chicken Katsu sandwich here is his second favorite chicken sandwich in all this world. The first time he ate it he spent the whole ride home raving about it. Mind you, we live in San Tan, so not a short ride. The shaking beef is always good. It has this firey kick that brings the heat upfront but does not linger. You cannot forget about the fried rice here. Rice is one of my weaknesses in life second only to pizza. Fried rice ranks right up there with my top favorite ways to eat rice and this ranks right up there with my favorite fried rice places. The main reason we come here is because of the noodles. Ramen, ramen, ramen. When you think of Ramen, I assure you this is what you are thinking of. The broth is oh so savory and reigns in the fresh veggies and proteins to meld them with the noodles for a flavor punch each time you have a mouthful. They have great drinks here as well, or so I've been told by the other adults I come here with. I always just get a sake and Sapporo so... LOL The service is always good here and we somehow always manage to miss the lunch or dinner rush which is awesome. All in all... this is by far my favorite dining spot in downtown Gilbert. Great food, great drinks, great service, great atmosphere, in the middle of a great little square. A must eat for me.

My wife and I had the Pad See Ew with the braised chicken thigh which was INCREDIBLE. Perfectly chewy noodles, great seasoning. I highly recommend adding some of the homemade Fresno chile sriracha for a kick! The pork ramen was also very delicious. Be warned it's a lot of pork! My wife preferred it with the green jalapeño sriracha. The drinks were also very unique and delicious! A sideline view for me and riding the line for my wife. Oh and the best part was the dessert Bananas foster hush puppy puffs. These were so unique, seasoned with cinnamon sugar and Chinese 5 spice. It took some getting used to but the more you ate it with the Carmel toffee sauce the more I enjoyed it. All in all I can see why people love this place! It's a 5 star restaurant for a 3 star price! If you're looking to expand your flavor palette and have a wonderful evening I can't recommend Clever Koi enough!

The wings were grilled and sauced to perfection and that Ranch is da bomb. Thank you Bella and Natalia as well as the rest of the team at Zinburger.

At first I thought I didn't want a burger as I usually make my own at home but was pleasantly surprised at the menu & ambiance. Sarina was our waitress & I asked her if the California Bowl was like a salad with a veggie burger as it doesn't state a beef patty? She said it's like a burger w/o a bun but as a bowl w/the ingredients & TOPPED with a beef patty. Oh, I see... So I asked if I could just have the Basmati Rice but it was a mixture of Basmati & Quinoa so she said she could give me more ingredients of something else like Brussels sprouts or Greens so I asked for more Greens. The ingredients are: griddled Sweet Potatoes, roasted Mushrooms, caramelized Onions, Brussels Sprouts, Quinoa, Avocado slices with a Tamari glaze. It was also topped with Cilantro & Green Onions. I also ordered an Iced Tea. The California Burger Bowl was soooo delicious with such a flavor bomb of textures, sweetness & caramelized, smokey flavors! The crunchiness from the cold greens, warm Brussels Sprouts, soft & sweet Caramelized Onions & Sweet Potatoes, plus the creaminess of the Avocados was such a great medley! I think I need to replicate this at home! Very creative & healthy! My cousin & friend both got burgers, one topped with mushrooms & one with a lettuce wrap sub, Zucchini & Sweet Potato Fries. The seating is very comfortable with the cushioned seats & booths & the restaurant is very bright & airy with lots of windows & high ceilings. If you have to use the restroom, it's located outside & will give you a passcode. Highly recommend this place!

On a Saturday night after grabbing some ice cream at Topo, we stopped by Sotol Modern Cocktail…read moreKitchen for a nightcap. Located in downtown Gilbert, Sotol is a rooftop bar and restaurant. I love a good rooftop and the weather was perfect. While they don't have a parking lot, free parking is available on the street and in the various surface lots and garages in the area. Ambiance (4.5/5): It's tough to beat a rooftop. Here you'll have nice views of downtown Gilbert, including the historic Gilbert water tower (which lights up at night). It's not a huge restaurant/bar, probably 50 seats or so. A good number of tables and then 15 seats or so at the bar. We sat at the bar. There's a pretty nice mural on one end too. Service (4/5): A little slow to start out with and to close out, but overall, friendly. We found one of the last four remaining seats at the bar. If not for that, there would have been a wait. One drink and then we made our way. Overall, about average. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet for this visit but they do have a full menu. Drinks (4/5): Interesting craft cocktail list. The first one on the list is a Sotol cocktail. If you've never had Sotol, it's a Mexican spirit. Not tequila and not mezcal, but somewhat similar to mezcal and it does have a bit of a smoky flavor. The Sotol So Good has sotol, butterfly pea, coconut rum, pineapple, lime, and orgeat. It's purple so it makes an impression. It packs a punch too. If you're looking for a cool spot to grab some food and drinks in the heart of downtown Gilbert, when the weather is nice, Sotol is a great choice!

I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. Right from the start, the elevator was out of order, which wasn't ideal. When we got inside, the place was mostly empty -- only a couple of other guests -- yet we were told to sit anywhere except along a section of tables by the wall. I pointed out a table at the far end, well away from the entrance, but was directed instead to what felt like the least desirable table, with the reasoning being they might need the space for a large party. After a bit of back-and-forth, they eventually let us sit where we preferred, but it made for a poor first impression -- especially considering the restaurant never filled up. Tried a few cocktails -- they were well made and enjoyable, definitely the highlight of the visit. Overall, good drinks but the initial experience left a sour note -- may or may not return. Saluti.

It was not too busy - most were sitting on the patio enjoying the nice weather or in line at the coffee counter. I got a table for two right by a window. The interior looks modern chic, and has many windows so a lot of natural light was shining through. A server got my drink order shortly after being seated, then my friend arrived, but the server had disappeared for a while. It wasn't super busy, so I'm not sure what the hold-up was. I got the Matcha Strawberry off of their Signature Drinks menu, which tasted fresh and delicious. My friend started with a slice of Banana Choc Espresso Loaf - I tried a bite and it was dense with good flavor, especially the Valrhona chocolate. For brunch I got the Maeva "BEC" (bacon, egg, & cheese sandwich), and my friend got the Treg's Breakfast (eggs, bacon, and sourdough). The shape of the egg in my sandwich was like a square block and unexpected, but it still tasted good. The egg, cheese, pickled peppers, and chili mayo paired nicely together with the milk bun. My friend enjoyed her food as well. I would come back and try some other menu items and dinner.
