I have a love- hate relationship with Snappy Salads. When it is slow, we have great service, the staff is wonderful and we are in and out in 10 minutes. The second that there are more than 10 customers, things start to fall apart. The place doesn't run well with a crowd. The salad itself is great. The dressings rock. My personal favorite is Chipotle Lime Vinaigrette . They have a great variety of toppings and offerings, but nothing that will blow you away. The size of the salad is great. The Potato Soup is great as well. Its a great salad shop, just slow. read more

I went to snappy Plano as I always do for the past two years and ordered my usual bbq ranch chicken salad. The server Sheldon or Shelly whatever his name is had an attitude to begin with. I don't like black beans or tomato so i always substitute them. He lacked attention to deal to remember the two things I didn't want so with a attitude he asked me to repeat myself. I should of left then because there is no reason for attitude. I sub black beans for extra corn and tomato for double cheese, but he only put one scoop of cheese and walked off . The older lady took over and i asked her to get his attention. I confirmed with him he didn't add my extra cheese so i asked the lady to just do a scoop of grapes instead . It was time to ring me up and there trying to charge me for two extra . I didn't get extra anything i just sub. The older lady took over which i found out was the manager started with a attitude as well. I asked why she was still trying to charge me when i only sub . She Proceeds to ask "ugh have you been here before you shouldn't be doing subs on anything" ( mind you I've been going for a while no issues). She said she counted how many toppings he put on my salad . (She heard me ask him did he add the extra scoop and then him saying no) Then I ask her to repeat what toppings I got. She rolls her eyes and say ugh well idk i didn't watch him make your salad . So now she is contradicting herself. She says in so many words that's I'm lying about my order which i have no reason to and says I'm going to give you the salad but don't come in here doing subs it's messes us up. I told her since she making a big deal and trying to give me a lecture she can easily pull the cameras and count toppings because she was making me out to be trouble, which i don't appreciate. I was so looking forward to getting a salad from Snappy a couple of weeks ago. Since my last visit I'd had a heart attack and now need a diet lower in sodium. Their website said they could help me choose a salad that would be lower in sodium. That really only works if their employees are familiar with how to help someone with dietary restrictions. I hope that someone reads this and makes sure that the next person walking through their doors with a special dietary restriction will find knowledgeable employees who can help them enjoy a good healthy meal. I was so disappointed. My husband also asked that they not add croutons and that the salad dressing was a lighter amount and they messed that up too! I really thought more highly of Snappy Salads and now I'll be using other salad restaurants instead! read more

Awful experience. I went here earlier today as my friend recommended it hoping to get a simple salad with tofu. I thought it was a little pricey (over $6 for half a salad) but I gave it a go and went through the conveyor belt of the line. Once I got to the register, the cashier/manager asked me what my salad was, I pointed to it as the tofu was still being sauted and I watched them put buffalo chicken in the salad instead. I politely pointed this out and the manager didn't really understand what the big deal was. I explained that i am vegetarian and wanted tofu. She then asks me if they can just take the chicken off and replace it with tofu. I explained I don't eat meat and the chicken was already mixed in the salad, that would not work for me. Another staff member tries to convince me and says she will just "take the layer off". The manager asked me how I would like to pay for it. I politely told her, I would not like the salad and left. I thought they were rude and not understanding. I would have paid for a sald if they just remade it without meat. The newly opened snappy salads opened up recently near us. Rachel and I decided to get snappy salad after a workout. We've patiently watch this establishment being built up and finally decided to go grab a bite. I've had a snappy salad from the north park location so i had some previous expectations. This new location was very homey! It had very interesting decor. The owners made very clever decor choices in terms of reuse and economics. The tables were actually repurposed from a 1920 factory. The fixtures were of the previous restaurant. They repurposed jars to cover the lighting. The walls are painted with chalk paint and used as menus as well as a means of advertising specials and fun facts (like the facts about the repurposed wood tables) As you pick your salad, you're offered various options. You pick your dressing, your toppings, etc. and you've given a large metal bowl. Rachel and i decided to opt for sharing the larger bowl. Which turned out to be a better choice. We ordered the cobb salad. The cobb salad was tasty. The large issue was the chicken. It was cold and tasted very very bland and nasty. The rest of the salad was pretty good. The cobb included avacados, that nasty grilled chicken, chives, split cherry tomatoes. Overall, it's not anything spectatular or original or even exciting. Rachel did end up getting sick from it. She thinks she got food poisoning. I did encounter some uncomfortable stomach pain but nothing to the extent of her illness. Probably won't go back. Wasn't too impressed. read more

What a great place. One of my favorite places for a healthy meal. In my opinion, the best salad is the Sweet and Smokey. Its a great combo of sweet toppings like mandarin orange slices and red pepper topped with hot smoked salmon. Great salad. They always have specials, most are great. They also always have a daily soup; if you ask, they'll give you a sample. Don't tell anyone there, but I always sample the soup even if I don't plan to buy it. Also - if you like a good soda, make sure to buy a drink. They have cola and root beer made with real cane sugar. read more

Great, fresh salads. I've had several and they are all good. You can choose the menu items or build your own. Yes, the Grilled Avocado is excellent. It is VERY pricey so you can't go often, so that costs them a star. The Plano location loses another star for service. Nearly every time I go in, they are more interested in talking among themselves instead of taking care of customers. They are so busy "chatting or gossiping" they can't start the grill part of your order when first asked so you end up waiting for your food. They need some mature supervision and that is not about age, but about professionalism. read more

This update is long overdue. I consider five star companies those that go above and beyond during a first visit or those that consistently demonstrate great quality and/or service. I've eaten at Snappy's regularly for two years and I've tried several other salad restaurants in DFW and I believe strongly that Snappy's has set a high standard for salad restaurants. What separates them from others? * Freshness, quality of produce * They take traditional salads and put a nice spin on them and they also have several signature salads that are superb (grilled avocado is a classic) * Their soups are fresh, made in-house and unlike anything that you'll have anywhere else. Yes, you've had potato soup but I bet it doesn't taste like the soup at Snappy's. * They pay attention to the details and presentation. * They're an eco-friendly company and regular host free electronics recycling drop-offs at their various locations. read more

Super expensive- but the Range Rover yoga moms of West Plano will always be coming back, so this place is here to stay. I've tried the grilled avocado salad everyone's raving about and I enjoyed it- little too citrusy/sour for my taste, but the avocado sort of kept the balance. I really enjoyed the potato soup. Service is ok- when it gets busy, things kind of get out of control and unorganized. Good quality food and I can appreciate the variety, but it just seems like another place where being an eco-friendly and green company justifies higher prices. read more

Not a happy camper. I have been to the one at North Park, and while I still believe they are over-priced, it was a better experience. First, the music was far too loud...hard to hear what employees saying. Also, we were the only ones there when we went in at close to five, and the first thing I see is a group of employees eating at a table right near the door. Of course they deserve/need to eat, but not right out in the open and so close to the entry way when customers come in, not professional at all. Also, when I approached the counter the one lady behind it didnt even see me, while the "manager" had to get up from eating behind me to serve me. Poor, poor impression. The biggest deal, though, is the price of their salads and extras. The smallest (and we are talking tiny) salad was $4, and to add meat (they say it is two oz. of chicken) was $2 more. Six dollars for a midget salad, and I am positive that if that chicken had been weighed it would not be two ounces. The serving was "ladled" out but she did not make sure it was full before placing on the salad. I cannot argue that the food tastes pretty good. They claim their prices are inflated because the salad is fresh and they cut all their ingredients there. Really? Got to be kidding me that is the reason for the over priced salads? If their prices were more reasonable for the portion given I might return. We eat out EVERY day, and I have learned what restaurants in the North Dallas/Plano area are a good value...provide nice food and reasonable amount of food for the money. I am willing to spend good money for great food and great service. Snappy Salads provides relatively good food for a bit too high of a price, and the service of mixing the salad in front of you and having chopped the food that day should not cost this much imho. read more

Ordered a salad for lunch to be delivered via Foodsby.com. Order arrived on time as requested, but it had half the requested food missing and one of those missing items was the salad dressing. So all said, I paid $10+ for a big bowl of spinach. You only get one chance to make a first impression and your made a memorable one. I have been going to Plano Snappy for years. When they first opened it was fantastic. Unfortunately the past 6-12 months every other order is wrong. I usually order online and pick up go to work. Frustrating when it's lunch time and I either have someone else order, wrong dressing, wrong protein....I think you get the picture. Not as "snappy" as I would have liked. In fact, the fastest part of the whole experience was the new hire that was wearing a shirt that said, "Be patient, I'm training." VENUE: Bright, spacious, and clean with a lot of natural light. Perfect atmosphere for a healthy meal - dinner or lunch. The set up is rows of high top benches. A very communal feel. Casual. FOOD: Crispy Artichoke - Pesto dressing was delicious. I don't know if it was just because the server made it this way or because the artichokes had just come off the friar, but it was a bit more greasy than I want my salads to be. Half portion of greens was generous. Sautéed Salmon w/Dressing on the side - After seeing the Crispy Artichoke salad, I'm glad I got the dressing on the side. Flavors were good but the salmon portions seemed...skimpy? I felt like the filet was very small and my fish was LITERALLY swimming in a sea of greens. Half portion of greens was generous. SERVICE: Slow. I don't feel like it was incredibly busy. There seemed to be enough people to assist the 4 or 5 of us in front of the counter but some of the employees kind of ignored some of us. For example, they forgot to give me my side of dressing and I was waiting. One employee came from the back and just sort of walked past as if I wasn't there. Another guy was standing next to me trying to get a to-go box and he basically had to "yoo-hoo" that employee back to us. Best part of the service: the trainee. I'm a major Snappy Salads advocate. This is my third time at this location and every single time the service has been terrible. I feel as though no one has ever used manners in their life. I've tried to give this location a couple of chances because it's closest to me, but I can't anymore. It's stupid things like not adding croutons when asked. Instead getting them topped on the salad. I tried the Bam-Bam and Grilled Avocado salads and both are really good! I can't say the same about the service, but the food definitely made up for that. I went to the one on Campbell and also the one on Park and both times, the person helping me was probably a trainee. They were unfamiliar with the ingredients of the salad and kept forgetting some of my preferences/substitutions, but they were friendly at least and asked for help. I'll let it slide this time. Also, I think I've found my new favorite type of butter. The honey, orange butter they have right now is absolutely delicious, especially with their bread of the day (additional fee for bread and butter spread, but get it!). Finger-lickin' good...literally. It's sweet with a hint of citrus from the orange zest and it's super smooth like home-made butter should be. I wish I could buy a tub of it. Holy moly, this place is awesome! I also love salata, but it's nice to find another salad place with fresh options and a different flavor profile. My husband had the Texas taco and I had the grilled avocado salad. The grilled avocado is one of the best salads I think I've ever had - perfectly creamy with the avocado with a great bite from the dressing. My husband also raved about the taco salad. I love that they have pre-designed salad options, which I always wished salata did. I've noticed several complains about flies and it being dirty, which almost prevented me from ever coming. But after a tough workout, I wanted something in a pinch and don't regret it. I would be grossed out to find a fly in my food, but at the end of the day, I guess you have to realize that mistakes just happen. Even at restaurants. I'm an extremely clean person, and even I have found the occasional fly in my kitchen. Just saying. Bottom line - my experience was great. Tried the Cobb salad, it was so so and over priced (almost $14) The atmosphere was good, long tables and a chatty crowd gave the place a pleasant lunch time feel The staff were friendly and hard working The food was meh. Here's how it could be better: 1. The chicken breast was cut up into little cubes, like the ones you might see in a cheap frozen dinner. Taking a freshly cooked chicken breast and transforming it into two scoops of kibble is a questionable call. The best look is a full (or even half) chicken breast sliced and placed on top of the salad. I get maximizing food prep, so even a bin of sliced chicken would be an upgrade if you don't have time to slice when constructing the salad. 2. The avocado was warm and mushy. Easy to fix. 3. The bacon was scooped into the salad as a mushy ball. When deconstructed, it was overly chopped like the chicken. Crispy strips broken into a few smaller pieces would greatly improve the taste and appearance. The price was fairly high even for a small salad. Also, I didn't feel the communication was nearly as good as other similar types of places. No complaints about the freshness of product but, you can go through a lot of money very quickly here. Many items are an up charge with little exception. I'm rating this based off of one visit, but it was wonderful. Best part: pets allowed on the patio! So I was on a mid-morning walk with my dog and decided to stop by this place. I was there an hour before opening and they let me sit on the patio with my dog until they opened. When they opened they brought my order outside to me instead of having me go inside to handle it since I had my dog with me outside. I had the buffalo chicken salad, it was good. The chicken could've been better and a bit more buffalo flavor. I added grilled avocado, that was a pleasant treat. I've never had an avocado warm like that. I'd like to come here again and try some other salads. I got the half portion, it was enough, but I could've gotten a full size and maybe had a side salad portion leftover. read more

Great option if you are looking for a fresh, healthy meal. Stopped by today around 1:45 and it was still packed! Ordered a 1/2 Snap (salad). Lots of variety for the toppings to include fruits and nice fresh veggies. Loved the selection of lettuce types, e.g. spring mix. I didn't partake in the 8 toppings that you can get with the salad, so the lady was nice enough to double up the toppings that I did select. Personally, I like a few ingredients for my salads so I can enjoy the flavors. There's a large selection of dressings (10+) to choose from. I chose a raspberry vinaigrette which was nice and fresh. The total with the cup for water was $7.75 which was more than fair as I had leftovers to enjoy. read more

I gave Snappy Salads another chance (for full disclosure, I was given a free salad to try Snappy Salads again) and the service was more than attentive to what I wanted. This time, I was very deliberate in what I ordered. I got a Cobb (because I love Cobbs) and I added the salmon to it. It was surprisingly good. I already like Cobbs and I kinda thought that they were going to substitute the Salmon for the chicken, but they just made the Cobb and put the Salmon on top. Extra protein! All-in-all, it was a good size and the flavor was good. The wife is very particular with her salads so this time she made her own. It says you get so many ingredients and then a crunchy. By the time she got to what she thought were the crunchies, she was already out of ingredients. She said, "oh, I'd like some almonds," and the guy said, "You already have your max." It turns out that crunchies are wanton strips, croutons or something else. Not the nuts that they have near the end of the salad bar. Sad. The wife loves nuts. And she loves almonds too. Snappy Salads is really great. Super fresh ingredients, with extra yummy salad combinations and dressings. I love this place. My favorite is their Grilled Chicken Caesar, and Taco Salad, which has deliciously spicy taco meat (if you can handle a kick, I highly recommend this salad!) If you're more in the mood to make your own salad, their full bar of traditional salad ingredients is plentiful to suit any salad-makers desires. And do yourself a favor and try their bread and "garlic lovers" butter...both are to die for...I wish I never tried them because now I want them every time I go! My only issue is their thruput (aka how long it takes the customer to get thru the line)...I always feel like they need another body behind the line to move things along faster, and the slow pace makes me avoid this place around busy lunch times (1145a-145p). read more

Great, fresh salads at a convenient location. I have had both snappy salads and neighboring and neighboring Salata many times each, and snappy salads is the clear winner in my eyes. You can't go wrong with any of the pre-set salad options, especially the grilled avocado salad. I had the juiciest tomato I've ever tried. All the ingredients are incredibly fresh and filling, and the portions in the large size will definitely fill you up. I am a creature of habit and rarely venture out of my comfort zone if I know something is good, especially when it comes to salad dressings, but I'm glad I took a chance with the chipotle vinaigrette because it is out of this world. I think the dressing selection alone puts snappy salads above Salata. The service is extremely quick, the employees really know how to get you in and out of the restaurant fast. My only ding on Snappy Salads is that there's so much hustle and bustle that things can be overwhelming you're first time. The quickness of the line is not conducive for asking questions. read more

BYOB + fresh baked bread + a great salad = summer love! This is my go to salad place! The manager is always on top of things making sure things are running smoothly. Although, weekday lunch is their busiest time and the line can sometimes slow down with newbies. I prefer to visit on weeknights when things are calm and a bit more enjoyable. The half snap is a generous portion. Their seasoned croutons are perfection! A few salad ingredients are no longer available but I'm glad to see the sourdough bread back on the lineup. Service is pretty quick. It is set up similar to subway or chipolte. They are always pretty packed, but they do well to keep the line moving. I will say they have some strange sodas. I prefer to see the normal stuff, but I know some people like the cane colas. The wraps are not impressive. I would highly recommend skipping those, but the salads are GREAT! They have a good amount of choices, fresh ingredients and all prepared just for you. It makes you feel as though you have just bought the healthiest meal, which I love. :) The salad bowl is nice and chilled. This palce can be kinda pricey for salad but I think for top quality ingredients...it's worth it. read more

We love Snappy! We were so excited that a location opened up right when we moved to Plano because we've been eating there since the location on Forest opened. The caveat... I have to mark this location down because of their highchair situation. The highchairs they have are way shorter than their tables. Meaning... My daughter can't reach the table and therefore can't eat. When it's nice outside, I can pull a highchair out to the patio to sit at the normal height picnic tables... But nice patio weather is not exactly common in Texas. I can't tell you how many times we've considered going to Snappy for lunch and then decided against it because it's hot, cold, raining, etc and we can't sit on the patio. I love the food, but hate that I can't go there because there's not a reliable place for my daughter to sit. Sorry Snappy... 3 stars. read more
