We were in town while working a festival and were looking forward to eating breakfast after a long weekend, but were disappointed in our service. It took about an hour and 45 minutes to get our food. I understand it was busy, but tables at other sections arrived after us and were able to finish and leave before we even got our order taken. We were unsure who our server was since she never introduced herself or checked up on us at any point. My order ended up being completely wrong- had mushrooms which I can't eat and the wrong cheese in my omelette. Seemed like our server was having a long day. read more

No fuss spot for American style staples. We went in for breakfast and were not disappointed. The coffee flowed, perk for some flavored creamer, and plates were pleasing. My friend dove into his chorizo Benedict and loved the mix of flavors. I opted for eggs and a biscuit (tbh it wasn't a great biscuit on its own but I'm not a fan of gravy at breakfast so it was probably my fault for ordering part of a dish). We shared fluffy pancakes and French toast around the table and bacon and eggs in several styles were served. The set combos had a mound of hash potatoes. All in all we were pleased and stuffed. Literally get the chicken fried steak everytime and it's a beautiful thing. Crispy and with perfectly cooked oozy over medium eggs and bomb home fries. Was visiting from out of town and googled nesrby breakfast spots. This place looked nice so we stopped by. I was torn between the German Pancake and my usual go to, The Chicken Fried Steak. I went with the pancake. My friend got the Chicken steak so I got to try it to. EVERYTHING was amazing. This is probably one of my favorite breakfast experiences in a very long time. The waitress warned me that the german pancake could take up to 20 minutes to prepare. I was ok with that. She made sure that all our food came out at the same time. I wish I had gotten her name . She had short hair and was just awesome. Coffee was good and mugs were kept full :D I am going to make this a regular place when im in town. So so good! read more

I was looking for a new comfort food restaurant and picked Sloan's. Although there were many things to like, the food I found lacking. The eggs benedict came with "poached" eggs that were solid inside. When I complained, the waitress said, "Yeah, they're eggs." Not a good response. Once that was settled, I dug into the off-white hashbrowns, which was underdone and had no evidence of browning. My partner's Huevos Rancheros was good for him. I may try again, but it didn't match Don and Sweet Sue's Cafe in Cathedral City or Billy Reed's in Palm Springs. read more

A former colleague had told me about this spot. She had specifically recommended a chile relleno omelet. Lately, I've been a sucker for chiles rellenos, so I remembered her advice, on a hot Friday morning. Walking in, I was kinda taken aback a little by the layout. It is nearly identical to Elmer's, in Palm Springs. I was given a choice between a booth and a table. I typically avoid booths, but I think I would do a booth next time. The chairs at the tables are wrap around, which I don't find too comfortable. Service was excellent. I mean, really excellent. My glass was never empty. Two different pretty young ladies checked on me. That right there is worth the 5 stars. I chose the chile relleno omelet. You have choices for side dishes. I like that they had so many options. I wanted to go a little less traditional, so I opted for cottage cheese and a biscuit. The size of the biscuit was larger than most saucer plates. It was light and perfectly cooked, not too gummy nor too dry. The cottage cheese was ..just cottage cheese. The omelet was much larger than I expected, but the size was due to the size of the chile relleno inside. This was a pasilla chile stuffed with cheese (probably mozzarella, but could have been something else.) Rather than the traditional fluffy egg batter, they wrapped it in the omelet. There were some slices of avocado and a tomato-based sauce on top. That tomato salsa/sauce was mighty tasty. I was so impressed by all of this that I might have to make the trip east valley to have breakfast more often! read more

Absolutely the worst place I've ever been to I ordered tortilla soup and asked if it was spicy as I was gonna feed my baby. The waitress said no, not at all Well the soup was very spicy. I exchanged it for beef and vegetables. It was the most gross thing ever. It was thick and seemed to be leftover roast. Disgusting. Then we ordered a $17 club sandwich and it came with a salad or soup. We ordered salad. The entire meal was disgusting. When the bill came we were charged an additional $4.99 for the salad. I questioned the charge and the waitress said that there was an up charge and refused to remove the charge The quality of food is gross. The service is poor. Overall a terrible meal. I don't know how they have a 4 star rating. We will never return. read more

This is not a mask friendly place, we were there prior to the latest mandate, we had masks and sanitizer so felt comfortable, I see other reviews freaked out about this, maybe Sloan's is not your kind of place. Menu: Large with a lot of things not on my diet but they all looked good. Of course I ordered off diet and ordered a drink to keep up my steam. Food Prep: Excellent for a diner, very simple. Food Quality: Quick service and our late breakfasts' were excellent, perfect with a bloody Mary, maybe two? We ordered egg dishes, hash browns and pancakes, traditional. It was excellent I must say but we were hungry so perfect. Libations: Awesome, our waitress served us, made the drinks, leaned on them a lot, but more on that next. Waitstaff: This place was full with people waiting, well Covid affected for sure, understaffed and while everyone was doing their best there was a lot of tension between the only two waitresses working the floor that day but they pulled it off. Our waitresses was so nice and we left her a $20 tip for her crappy day. We did overhear some nasty exchanges but it is a diner... roll with it. I fell in love with the pecan French toast. It was absolutely delicious. I loved the cream cheese middle. However I'm not a big fan of strawberry so I got them on the side. Our waitress was incredible. She was so attentive and friendly. Constantly checking up on us ! Unfortunately we did feel it was a bit "dirty" our silverware had water stains, our plate came dirty with what looks like chocolate (which as you can see we didn't order anything with chocolate.) over all was a bit sticky. Pretty standard diner fare with a lot of variety and huge portions (2 giant pankcakes is just ONE of the two sides you get with a giant omelet?!?). We came around noon on a Saturday and there was plenty of parking. Surprisinly our party of 8 was seated right away and they offered to let everyone pay separately, which is unheard of. My custom omelet was good and toast was standard toast. I upgraded to a side of fruit, but unfortunately it did not contain any pineapple, as the waitress told me, it was mostly honeydew (but better than having 2 pancakes); I could have also used more water refills. read more

We never tried German pancakes before, so we were super excited for it. We ordered a few items to bring back to our hotel. German pancakes: It wasn't as pretty as the photos we saw on yelp, where people dined in for it. My pancakes were pretty soft, but soggy, but I'm not really sure what the normal texture was supposed to be. I loved the butter, powdered sugar, and lemons on it. The pancake was pretty pricey, but rather large. I would love to try this dish in person again in the future, 4.5/5. Buttermilk pancakes: The pancakes were super fluffy! The buttermilk flavor wasn't too strong, but I enjoyed these pancakes. It was a decent size too, 5.5. Eggs Benedict: The eggs were perfectly poached, but the flavor of the hollandaise was a bit weird for me. It wasn't what I'm used to, when I normally order this dish elsewhere. Hashbrowns were also soggy when we ate. Nevertheless, it was fine, 3.5/5. Apple glazed french toast: This dish was really sweet. The apples were soft, and the cream cheese was yummy, but this dish was just too sweet for me. We ordered this to-go and the corn flakes on top were soggy when we ate this. I would say this was a 4/5. Overall, this was a decent brunch place. Prices aren't super cheap, but portions are decently sized. read more
