It's difficult to find good Mexican food in the Seattle area so whenever I'm down in the desert I always seek out highly rated Mexican restaurants. I saw that this place had 4.5 stars on Yelp and it did not disappoint. My wife and I went in for dinner. I ordered Nelly's Special and my wife had Camarones Victoria, both of which were outstanding and I would order again. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was excellent. This was a quaint little place in Indio. We found this place driving back from Arizona. I wanted to post this review as it was well deserving. It's locally owned and the quality of the food was great. Although it was busy the food didn't take too long. The service was good. My wife got a chicken soft taco and a birria quesadilla and loved it. I got huevos rancheros and I consider myself an expert :) the huevos rancheros were very good. And since we like spicy they gave us a spicy salsa on the side which was great. I hope this business thrives and keeps their quality. We would definitely come back here. Cheers read more

I have no idea how this place has so many stars. It was the worst overpriced breakfast ever. The only good thing was the cafe de olla. Hash browns were overcooked and burnt. While visiting the tiny Indio Library, a lady gave us discount coupons to Victoria's so we ate lunch there. It's in a quaint part of old town that is being revitalized. The cafe was very nicely decorated and we were seated and treated expertly by the man in front. It was slow so he was alone but very attentive. The food choices were better than typical Mexican mom n pop cafes. We had two kids who ate from kids menu and I had the lunch 12 cachanilla flauta's. Like simple taquitos but plated with shredded cabbage and Mexican cheese and a tangy/slightly spicy sauce that made the dish delicious! My wife got breakfast which was served til 2pm. The staff was on there A game and knocked it out the park service was exceptional and the food came out nice and hot and delicious! I had a disappointing experience at Victoria's Café. The food was overpriced and the portions were small -- the soup barely had any meat in it. Drinks were also unreasonably expensive. When we politely raised our concerns, the server (Karen) responded with an attitude instead of addressing the issue professionally. Definitely not worth the price or the poor service. I thought we would try this place out since the reviews were pretty good. I ordered breakfast, chorizo with eggs, it was good, the chorizo had good flavor. I asked for no cheese on the beans, and I think the cook forgot because as I was eating, I noticed there were remnants of cheese in the beans, which was disappointing. The rice was not authentic Spanish rice, somewhat of an uncle Ben's type of rice, included were 2 very small flour tortillas. My sisters ordered the hamburgers, the patties were seasoned quite salty, to the point of being inedible. The fried zucchini were good, the coating was tasty and fries were just okay, as they were typical frozen French fries. I ordered a tamale to see how authentic it would taste, and it was a store brand tamale, like Del Real type, not home made as expected. The iced tea tasted like it was brewed from the coffee machine as it had a coffee aftertaste. Don't think I'll be making another trip there anytime soon. read more

I love Victoria's Cafe in downtown Indio! It is a cute little spot that's making its mark in the budding arts/music scene here. They are overhauling their decor, and it looks stylish and appealing. The service is great although they seem to need a few more hands on board when they get busy. The food is really good! I am obsessed with their POTATO FLAUTAS, and their FISH TACOS and SHRIMP TACOS are flavorful, fresh and fantastic! They serve beer, wine, aguas frescas and Mexican faves like CHAVELAS. They carry huge bottles of 805 BEER, too! My BF and I love it here. I also love that they have a small covered patio that gives SIDEWALK CAFE! So chill and cute! One day recently I had lunch by myself, and it was such a soothing vibe to hang out and enjoy a comforting Mexican meal while people came and went in Old Town Indio. So nostalgic! . I'm so glad Victoria's is here, and I hope their business really takes off! read more
