Had the pleasure of coming here to try it out with a friend. From the moment we came in we was greeted and told to have a seat anywhere we'd like. Looked over the menu and started with some chips and salsa and a Chavela and a fountain drink that was really good. We placed our orders which my friend ordered the Chiles Rellanos dish and I ordered the Bistec Ranchero dish. Let me tell you when our food came out the food was seasoned well, every bite, I just keep going back for more. I also tried out my friends Chiles Rellenos and that was great as well. We waited 20mins for chips and water, 30 mins for food and as for the bill, it took so long so we went up at the Cashier to pay (we also have to wait for 5-10mins). Good food and great service,. We visited Huerta's while visiting my in-laws, and they came through in the clutch. Since moving to Vegas we haven't had the best Mexican food but this restaurant scratched that itch. The asada is well seasoned and full of flavor! Who doesn't love a good quesadilla. My wife enjoyed her shrimp nachos only knock is there was supposed to be rice on the nachos and there wasn't. Oh and The green salsa is fire!!! Next time we will sit down instead of ordering to go. We were a party of six the Wednesday before the Coachella festival. I don't know what was going on but we were the only folks in the restaurant for most of our meal. We asked the staff and they told us it was very usual. The chips and salsa were good, and paired well with the margaritas we ordered. The guacamole appetizer was freshly made. Everyone ordered something different: from combinations to ala carte tacos to the carnitas plate. Everyone enjoyed their meal and there were no complaints. It was a leisurely meal and the service matched our vibe. It wasn't super attentive but then again it wasn't expensive in an area where you can easily drop a couple of hundred dollars on dinner per couple. The filete de pescado a single guste Diablo was awesome. It was quite tasty and spicy. The ceviche de Cameron was ok but the amount of cucumber drowned the shrimp in there. I had to add some salt and hot sauce to give it some flavor. The male server we had was not so good. We were not acknowledged at our table unless we flagged him down for extra salsa and drink refills. My order comes with fresh tortillas but since I like rice better I asked for an extra portion of rice in lieu of the tortillas. It was not done. Then when I told him about it he just apologized and didn't offer to get an extra side of rice nor did they even bring the tortillas. It's official -- we've found our favorite local spot. Huertas is so good that we had to go a second time in one week. Our household couldn't stop thinking about the pastor! Definitely the best pastor tacos that we have found in town after searching for ages. We have only ever ordered via to-go and delivery, but the food is always so fresh upon arrival. I have to imagine that it would be even more delicious if we were eating it fresh in the restaurant. I wonder if some of the negative reviews complaining about wait time are forgetting that they are going to a sit down restaurant? Once again we enjoyed Huertas Restaurant! We make our annual trip to the Indio, Palm Springs area and never miss the chance to dine at HR......and for myself, never order anything other than the combination "cocktail ", which I described many years ago as the best that I've ever had. I again confirmed that this year on 2/1/2025! My wife has her usual chicken enchiladas which she has at every Mexican restaurant she described HR's as excellent. Others in the group were very happy with their choices of the sea food stew and chimichanga. The service this year as always was excellent in this family owned restaurant. This was a nice find. We were traveling from So Cal to Phoenix and the timing was right to stop in Indio. We found this on Yelp and the timing was good for a pit stop. It's at the far end of Indio. We ordered a variety of dishes - there were 3 of us, including enchiladas, tacos, chili relleno - all with rice and beans. We got chips and salsa with the to-go order. Fresh ingredients, well seasoned (not too salty and flavorful spicy), and really tasty. Definitely will try to stop by again when we are out that way.
