We came here for breakfast while we were in Palm Springs for the weekend. We were sat right away and the menu was pretty extensive. I decided on the green chilaquiles and my husband got the machaca. We saw someone else with chiles toreados and we had to order some (I don't think they're on the menu). Our breakfast was SO good and the chiles were super spicy, just the way we like them. A must-order for a Mexican breakfast. What really stood out was the service. They were always checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Went to brunch at this place with family for the first time and the place was packed but we were able to get a table right away! The two different gentlemen that took our drink and food orders were really friendly and welcoming! The ambiance was casual and moderately loud due to how busy they were since they were packed for brunch! I ordered the chicken fried steak with country potatoes with shredded cheese on top! We came to the Palms for breakfast after day 1 of Coachella and it hit the spot! We were seated quickly despite it being super busy and the service was awesome. We have visited The Palms Cafe and several occasions, and the food and service have always been excellent. The interior space is large, clean, and there are also tables available outside. Counter service is available as well. I also appreciate the fact that the bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. Upon being seated, it is common for an employee to immediately ask for your drink order. On two occasions, the person seating us asked us for our drink order while walking us to the table. Regarding the food, it actually tastes good. It's not just filler breakfast food. The eggs are great as are the hash browns and French toast. Each table is equipped with all the necessary condiments, and the bottles and salt and pepper shakers are clean. Regarding the service, as indicated above, it is exceptional! read more

Got asked it being seated outside was fine, as it was pretty packed. It was a chilly morning but they had heaters, which didn't end up being an issue. I highly recommend the banana walnut pancake! I got it as a side to share with my husband but ended up eating most of it. We ordered the chilaquiles and the new york steak and eggs, which were both filling. Everything was great, food and service. However they sat me and my 3 year old toddler at a booth and directly behind were hot coffee pots that I didn't see or was made aware of. My son ended up getting 2nd degree burns on his fingers. I paid and still tipped nicely and rushed home to take care of him because I was in shock and confused how they would put that there. It took me 5 minutes to figure out why he was in pain because no one thinks their child will get burned while trying to enjoy breakfast. His left dominant fingers were burned as well as his right fingers but thankfully those were only lightly burned. I came back a few days later asking for a refund because it ruined our whole day and caused my son to feel very uncomfortable. They said the manager was out of town so I gave him my info and they never got back to me because I did ask for a refund for the inconvenience but nobody ever got back to me so I'm writing this review to warn other families to be aware of where they sit at the restaurant. I saw other children's fingerprints all over the window at that table so it's a regular thing that they sit children there. They moved the pot when I when it first happened, but when I came back, it was in the same spot again. I'm a local and was a regular at both locations and I always speak very highly and tell everybody I know about this business because it's delicious and great service and I love all of the staff, but unfortunately I won't be going back there because they didn't make it right with me. The space has a great layout with plenty of seating and sports playing on the TVs. We were greeted and seated fast, and service was super attentive. They have a solid mix of breakfast, brunch, and lunch options with lots of vegetarian picks. I had the chile relleno omelet special with home fries and toast--so flavorful and not too heavy. My partner got a veggie omelet, hashbrowns, and a buttermilk pancake on the side. Everything was delicious and well-balanced. Mind you I cook from scratch at home and sister is a Chef so we're foodies! With that said we asked the waitress for top dishes and one was California Eggs Benedict which was a hit! Hollandaise sauce was perfect & lots of fresh avocado. We had the Machacha (spelling?) Burritto and it was okay but I felt lacked flavor...our hash browns seemed stale but they were okay & fresh fruit was great. We decided to order the two mimosa deal but with fresh squeezed orange juice which is an up charge. Delish. They were crazy busy so we got lucky with 2 seats at the Bar. Great service considering how packed it was. Several people would check in on us. My friend expected Chips & Salsa while we waited but I explained this isn't a Mexican Restaurant. He also wanted more of a homemade Salsa to go with the Burrito but again this is usually something made at a Mexican Restaurant. I liked the Salsa that came with the Burrito. We will definitely be back. I want to try every Eggs Benedict & Burrito on the Menu! Plus other Mimosa combos. The couple next to us get cranberry juice and mix that in to their champagne. We went there for valentines dinner and it was one of the best experiences. I ate the salmon plate and my partner got the ribeye, everything was delicious. Service was amazing. We sat outside and they turned the heater on and gave me a poncho they had because i was cold. Very Disappointed--Hoping Management Will Reach Out I visited The Palms Restaurant in La Quinta this morning with a friend. After waiting for a table (which was fine), we were finally seated and enjoying breakfast. Partway through, a different server named Sandra came over and asked if we were going to order anything else because she "needed our table" for a large party of border patrol agents. Never have I been treated that way in any restaurant. It made me feel as if our business wasn't valued. Later I learned the group was actually sheriffs, not Border Patrol. When I asked for a manager, Melody told me none was available. I do want to mention that the two male servers who helped me earlier were super courteous and kind--they provided excellent service. Unfortunately, that positive start was overshadowed by how Sandra handled the situation. I'll be attaching my receipt from this morning to confirm the visit. Now open for happy hour!! Drinks were $7 each and tasty! We each had the French dip and it was amazing! Huge portions, tender, delicious and not full of fat. The au jus was perfect and not too salty.
