Disappointing Customer Service, Long Wait Times, and Underwhelming Coffee that got me sick!!
I've been here twice, and unfortunately, both experiences have been disappointing. The cashier, a woman with what appear to be painted-on freckles, was working the register both times, and I honestly found her to be one of the rudest cashiers I've ever encountered. There was no warmth, friendliness, or sense of genuine customer service. Her attitude was so unpleasant that it has bothered me for over a month.
I actually avoided coming back for months because of my first experience. I thought I'd give the place another chance, assuming perhaps she was just having a bad day. Unfortunately, my second visit was no different. She was just as rude and unapproachable as before. What shocked me most was how consistently unpersonable she seemed, almost as though she didn't realize how she was coming across to customers.
Both times, when I asked for extra sweetener in my coffee, I felt as though my request was an inconvenience and was met with an unnecessarily rude attitude. After drinking the coffee on my second visit, I became extremely sick but given the uncomfortable interaction beforehand, the experience left me feeling very uneasy.
The wait times are also far too long, and the lack of gluten-free options is disappointing.
As for the salads, they're okay, and the flavors are decent, but there's nothing particularly special about them. They're mostly lettuce, sliced lunch meat, and dressing, with very few fresh vegetables and little variety in texture or toppings. I would love to see ingredients such as avocado, fresh, colorful vegetables, and something crunchy to make the salads more satisfying and worthwhile for the price.
The coffee itself is not particularly impressive either, especially compared with the many other coffee shops I've tried throughout the Palm Desert area.
Honestly, I'm surprised by the lack of customer service, and I believe management needs to pay closer attention to the customer experience at the register. A cashier is often the first person customers interact with, and basic courtesy, friendliness, and patience should be part of the job and if it was me I would have fired that woman along time ago.
I'm sharing this because I genuinely gave this establishment a second chance, hoping for a better experience, and was disappointed both times. Good food alone isn't enough to keep customers coming back when the service makes them feel unwelcome.
The worst part of my experience was how rudely I was treated on two separate occasions by the same cashier, the woman with the painted-on freckles. The first time, I was there with my niece, who was around three years old, during a holiday when decorative props were displayed. While we were ordering coffee, my niece may have moved one of the props, and the cashier's reaction was unnecessarily rude. The second time, I politely asked whether a lotion bottle with an open pump was a sample because several bottles on the second shelf were already open, while the products on the first shelf were sealed and a sign said not to sample them. Rather than answering kindly, she gave me attitude again. If customers aren't supposed to touch the products, management should clearly separate the sealed merchandise from any testers and make the signage consistent. Neither situation warranted the disrespectful treatment I received, and both my friend and I felt uncomfortable with her attitude. I have been upset about these repeated experiences and in my honest opinion, management needs to address her behavior and seriously reconsider whether she is suited for a customer-facing position. read more
