If you like your coffee a little unique- try their UBE (a purple yam from the Philippines that has a nutty, vanilla taste) and / or PANDAN (A Southeast Asian plant that has a coconutty, vanilla and slight grassy taste) lattes. Yummy factor is through the roof. And the people here are so nice! Always welcoming! I haven't tried their empanadas or their baked goods but they sure look tempting! Next time. First off that BQL (banana Que Latte) was spot on *AMAZING*. The langka (jackfruit) and banana were all in there. Like you totally can taste it. It was balanced so well. Tho, I think it should be turon Latte (spring roll wrapped banana with jackfruit inside) not Banana que. Very popular Filipino fusion cafe. Vibes inside are great, feels like a small business and the person taking our order said their coffee beans come straight from the Philippines. My partner and I thought the drinks were okay. He got a panda latte and I got pistachio. Both were more on the milky side in my opinion, the syrup flavors were there but on the mild side. Note on the menu the varraco latte is a plain latte and the Pinoy varraco is an americano. I would want to go back and try just their drip/cold brew to judge the coffee better. The stand out thing about this coffee shop is the pastries. We tried the pork adobo padesal, sisig burrito, and beef empanada. All were very good but my favorite being the pandesal. Service was very friendly and they do have a rewards system via phone number that includes a birthday reward. Parking in a shopping complex so no issues there. There is no restroom available for customers. Inside seating is limited, maybe about 10 stools as pictured with low tables and one outlet near the couch in the back. I ordered the Pandan latte and while it was pretty green in color, I could barely taste the Pandan. Not sure if that was more food coloring than flavoring. The drink was also pretty milky. For $9 with oat milk this was not worth it, but it wasn't terrible. My friend ordered the ube matcha and she felt similarly. She couldn't really taste the ube flavor. Made time to visit this place after all the Coachella partying! Ofcourse found this place on Yelp looking for matcha in the area. It was fairly busy when we got there on a Monday morning but the staff was efficient. They greeted us as soon as we walked in. They're also roasting beans! We got the ube matcha, brown sugar latte, adobo pandesal and sisig burrito. W tip everything came up to around $40. The ube matcha was delicious - matcha was strong and you could taste the ube. The brown sugar latte was amazing - the beans truly shine. The adobo pandesal is soft and full of flavor. The sisig burrito was also delicious - I wish there's rice in it but the crispy pieces made up for it. I recommend this place if you're in the area. The only good thing was the latte with stevia to sweeten it. The service was good however I stand by everything I have written. The ambiance doesn't make up for the price. I found this place because it was near where I was staying and I was definitely impressed! They have Ube Lattes and Pandan Lattes. I first tried the Pandan latte and it was really good. I came back another day to try the Ube latte which was good too. Let's say I liked the Pandan latte a lot where I came back on the third day. I saw some people ordering the matcha drinks and those looked good too. This place also has a cool atmosphere, they have their roasting machine and they also show the culture of the Philippines. You can tell this place is a go to spot because I noticed a lot of customers talking to the team in a first name basis which is cool because they seem to be the community coffee shop. There is pretty limited seating in the actual shop and the chairs don't make it a conducive space to stay for too long. They had so many delicious looking pastries. This spot is in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a modern setup with about 4-5 tables for seating and some additional outdoor seating as well. For their menu, they have a variety of different coffee, matcha, and tea drinks to choose from along with some fresh pastries as well. Wifey and I pulled up to support and opted to try the BananaQ Matcha Latte along with a Chicken Empanada and an Adobo Pandesal. I love trying new coffee shops in places we travel to. Bonus if it's Filipino inspired coffees. There's plenty of parking in the lot. The shop has both outdoor and indoor seating. It's very clean and aesthetically pleasing. They also sell merch like candles, etc. The menu seemed enticing. Service was ok/good, but nothing to write a Yelp review about. I loved seeing the syrups in the cafe area, but couldn't tell if they were made in house. I would've loved to hear about the coffee from the barista or read about it somewhere in the shop. I did ask some questions, but it felt like they didn't know their product that well, maybe? I went and read their website later. I ordered the BananaQ Matcha. It tasted great, exactly like it sounds. It was expensive though. Perhaps because the coffee is imported? I'm ok with money benefitting coffee farmers in Philippines, but it was like $10?! So here I am in Palm Desert and there is this highly rated coffee house that sells Phillipino food, and drinks with a Phillipino twist. Count me in. You won't find this in North Dakota.. I went with the popular iced ube latte even though the price is painful ($8). If you have never tried ube, you are missing out. The color of the driink is an amazingly vibrant purple. The consistency is somewhat thick. The taste is delicious. The price was steep but the drink was wonderful. I came too late to enjoy most of the food items (because they had sold them) but I am all in on unique foods and drinks you cannot find nearly anywhere else on the planet. Ube for the win. read more

They didn't have a much food items because they do close a little early. But still a few options to choose from. I got the adobo pandesal and it was pretty good. Such a cute spot. So many flavors to choose from I wish I were local and could try them all. I'm always a fan of ube when I see it on the menu, but this time I experimented with the bananaq matcha. You MUST stir it lol. Overall fun and flavorful drink but a bit too sweet for me. Kept taking sips of my friend's ube latte. My new favorite coffee shop in Palm Desert! I visited for 4 days and came here 3 of the 4 days - that's how much I enjoyed Varraco. We love us a good third wave coffee shop! They make the signature syrups in house which is legit! Honestly the pandan latte (with coconutmilk) wasn't my favorite. Pandan and coffee don't really jive for me in general (I've made homemade pandan cold brew once) and I'm a whole milk kinda gal. It seemed like the ube latte was more popular. But, I did want to get a sense of Liberica beans, so I got: a drip, a cold brew and a latte. Honestly, it was pretty smooth and bold in all forms that if you quizzed me on arabica or liberica, I wouldnt be able to tell you. Food-wise: *The adobo pandesal is a must get! It reminded me of a bigger char siu bao - so good and fluffy. *Banana nutella muffin - I smashed this in record time. It was a little messy as the center was delicious molten nutella, but I'm not complaining. I also think it's so presh that they sell skyflakes single serve - sooo nostalgic for me as I ate a lot of skyflakes growing up! If you haven't had it, it's a better saltine. read more

For me, it was the first traditional Carmel Macchiato w/ a dollop of chocolate this side of Florence, probably going on 2 decades. PlusI could sit for less than 2 euros to enjoy it.
