HELL NAH. Hojicha tastes like a nuttier, cocoa-like, more roasted version of matcha, and Slow Bloom does Hojicha GREAT... close with all the drink cafes in KTown.... BUT IN THE INLAND EMPIRE BABY. it was so smooth, whisked, and CREAMY. the vanilla cream top really topped it off, it was perfectly balanced and not insanely sweet. 4/15/2026 Stumbled upon this place as I was in the area post-Yelp Elite Event. What a happy find! DULCE DE COCO (Limited Menu Item) Got it as a hot drink. Creamy, fluffy foam, coconutty flavor with a bit of caramel sweetness, dark chocolate espresso and alotta cinnamon flavor. Deliciously perfect for a Fall or Winter drink! This drink took me by surprise! Really enjoyed it! CHOCOLATE SEMOLINA OLIVE OIL LOAF It wasn't bad, but a bit disappointed that it was straight up chocolate loaf. Technically, it is more of a cocoa loaf, as it is not sweet nor is there chocolate in it. However, it had a lovely spongy, bouncy texture. Flavor-wise, it's nothing special especially with the long name and all. SUNSHINE MATCHA LATTE (Iced) Nekohama matcha. Latte was a bit sweet. But you can taste the Earl Grey and matcha. Got it with whole milk. It made it creamy, which was good. I did taste a hint of lemon in it as well. Honestly did not like that extra lemon flavor, as it distracted from the Earl Grey itself. I don't think the lemon was necessary. There was citrus flavor, but not tartness. I think citrus peel would have been better if they wanted an extra citrus flavor. Overall, it wasn't bad except the lemon flavor. Really threw me off. CUSTOMER SERVICE Service was nice. Recommended drinks were good. INDOOR & OUTDOOR SEATS A-PLENTY Ambiance had a retro feel, which was fun. Indoor was packed! No tables or seats available. Smaller tables for 2. Outdoor tables and seats were available. Walked in and did not get greeted but it was fine the workers were talking amongst themselves. I went to look at the menu and one of the baristas came to take my order, I got the butter pecan latte with oat milk. I went to sit and got a nice seat since it was fairly empty. Set my laptop up and saw the barista put a drink down. I waited a bit to see if she'd call out a name but she didn't so I went up to see the cup to try and make out the name on it. I wasn't able to without touching the cup which I did not want to do in the event it wasn't mine so I asked the barista who's it was and her response was "it's on the cup". I told her I didn't want to touch it in case it wasn't mine but it ended up being mine. I wouldn't have known since they didn't call it out. The drink itself was way too sweet and not good. It starts off Slow then the caffeine starts to Bloom and suddenly drops the Boom! The more you consume you start to be in tune with the vibe in the room. As everyone will start to loom you become curious as a coon. The longer I sat the more I understood why the coffee shop was so dang popular located in this hood. I ordered their seasonal Maple Latte which was pretty good with each sip so no need to trip. I also got the Ethiopian pour over set and that was definitely a good bet. Both drinks were pretty on point just like the character of this coffee joint. There's seating inside and out with the occasional line but no need to pout they'll get your order out as fast as they can I have no doubt. The space was very interesting and cute, i loved the ambiance of the shop. The coffee was just okay and the latte I got tasted strongly of sugar more than a flavor. I got the maple pecan latte i believe, and they use an oat milk that's not creamy so the coffee was very watery. But they do not upcharge for a milk substitute which is a plus! I stopped here just before work to get a quick pick me up for the day. I came across this coffee shop on Yelp and because I was just visiting the area for a trip I really wanted to support local shops! One thing I loved about this place was the ambience. It was so cute and retro and I just love the contemporary vibes that I've also had at the same time. It felt homey! I loved it. The vibes were great and the service was great as well. I ordered a small hot vanilla latte alongside with a blueberry bagel with butter. I did not wait too long and within a few minutes my name is called along with my order! I wish I could've stayed and enjoyed my coffee, but I had to be on the go. The bagel was great and also the latte was the perfect balance of espresso and milk. I'm kind of picky with my lattes My hot latte was presented so beautifully! What a perfect design! Also, the cup designs were so awesome. Really loved whoever designed everything. Stopped by Slow Bloom in Redlands. While they didn't have any gluten-free food options, the service and the people working there were top notch. The coffee was excellent and it was a really nice stop. The only downside for me was noticing "No ICE" political sign. Personally, I prefer coffee shops to keep the environment free from political messaging. That said, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that's part of what makes this country great. Super small location, limited parking. If lot is full there's a lot across the street and street parking. Very few indoor seats but outdoor seating is clean and comfy during perfect California weather, and even cooler weather with light rain. Not sure I'll go during summer temps of 90+. Only reason to take one star off. If they expanded and seating was available it would be perfect. Tried the Hugo Grey tea with cream and currants tea. My son had a strawberry milk. Tasked like a really good jam on bottom. My son LOVED it!!! We shared a gigantic croissant. It was delicious! Not much off selection since we got there after 3pm but definitely coming back earlier another day. Service was excellent. Patient with us, answered questions, made great recommendations. I came to visit while I'm on a bit of a break from graduate school - how else to best celebrate then to explore the cafes of Redlands?! I came here around 6 am, and was welcomed into a warm atmosphere. Many come and go to grab a drink and chat with friends. I appreciate the amount of seating available both indoors and outdoors. The place is a place to work as well with plenty of accessible outlets - at least to the the extent I would expect from a good study cafe. I ordered a medium sized latte with almond milk, and it was exactly what I needed. I really appreciated the fact that no additional charges were placed for the alternative milks of almond milk and oat milk. The service is kind and respectful. I've always loved the vibe of slow bloom. It is a welcoming place and I love that they do not charge extra for alternative milks. They always make our drinks as quick as they can, but if you go on the weekend they do develop a line out the door. I've tried a few different drinks, but there is something about them that does not sit right with my tastebuds. Most recently I ordered a vanilla latte, but it didn't have a lot of vanilla taste in it and it had an unexpected aftertaste. They also have a small pastry case as well but I didn't get any. They have a small parking lot plus street parking. Inside seats maybe 20-30 all 2-seater tables or at the bar. Tons of outlets plus extension cords, love that for students. Huge outside patio. Not too loud music but can get a little loud with conversation because this place is very small. Wifi was stable for me. Clean bathroom as well with feminine products! My biggest qualms would be that it gets pretty warm in here even for me who runs cold. The line extends outside so the door is constantly opened and closed letting in heat. I would also recommend putting a menu outside plus shade where the line is for the convenience of customers. This is one of our favorite coffee spots, both for drinks and for beans. Whenever we go to Palm Springs or Joshua Tree we definitely make a point of stopping by to get an oat latte (or pour over) and usually some coffee beans. The baristas are super nice and resourceful and I love that they've started using stamp cards (one for drinks and a separate one for beans). Although the line is often long (and out the door), we never feel like we wait a long time for our drinks. They have indoor and covered outdoor seating, although the indoor spots get taken up quickly for their plugs. We've ordered oat lattes, americanos and pour overs and they've all been fantastic. This is definitely a spot to check out if you're in the area (or passing through) and want great coffee! read more

Used to be one of my favorite coffee places but I've noticed that the coffee isn't as strong nor complex and I've found their lattes made lower quality (diluted with too much milk). The last couple of times I've visited were disappointing but I've enjoyed the ambiance outdoors (reading friendly, pleasant for meeting friends). Baristas were professional. I've never had their matcha but the canisters of matcha I've purchased from them were incredible; dark, ground especially fine with terrific flavor. I may visit if I'm in the area but I don't have to make a trip that far north given there are so many more spots in Redlands for superior coffee. read more

Always have to stop by this shop whenever I'm in Redlands! I'm not usually a matcha person, but their Vienna Matcha was a 10/10 -- perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. The Danish was also amazing -- crispy, light, and just the right amount of sweetness. I tried the Pumpkin Latte too, and it was delicious! I loved that it had just enough pumpkin flavor without overpowering the coffee like other places tend to do. My only complaint: the matcha only comes in a 12oz -- I definitely need more of that for my fix! read more

Great cortado! Super busy coffee shop with nonstop people coming in. Which was a surprise. I typically order matcha but decided to try their cortado to see what the rave was about and it did not disappoint me. There were 3 people working on a busy day and their operation was on spot. Waiting period was not long despite the continuous line. The sitting space inside is small compared to outdoor sitting. Outdoor has great shading! There's a parking lot but I ended up parking on the street and parking lot was full. Wanted to try another coffee house and I found Slow Bloom Coffee on Yelp. Decided to go and check them out. First time coming to Slow Bloom Coffee and when I arrived,, I noticed the parking was limited and depending on the time of day in my opinion. There is also street parking so plan accordingly. When I arrived, it was packed, so I had to wait in line for a bit. When it was my turn, I was intrigued in trying Honey Cinnamon Latte. So I decided to order one and sat in the front where there are stools. Another cool thing is that you can get a rewards card, every time you go to Slow Bloom Coffee. When my order was ready, I was eager to try the Honey Cinnamon Latte. It was actually pretty good and the combination of flavors, had an earthy taste in my opinion. Just enjoying my latte on an evening and enjoying the vibe. My overall experience was good, just wish there was more seating, but considering it was windy outside at the time, understandable. In my personal opinion, I would recommend Slow Bloom Coffee if you want to try a local coffee shop with unique flavors on their menu. read more

I can't believe these are the same people that worked at Augie's coffee. I've given them so many opportunities and the girl there one of them is absolutely horrid. She doesn't smile to save her life and my experience right now was with a guy I was waiting on my coffee. You always having a conversation about REI with another customer my coffee is just sitting there and then as I leave to get it, he makes a noise at me as I walk out the door as if I did something wrong. Saturday morning around 10AM and this spot is packed! We waited in line to order for about 15 minutes and then drinks came out about 10 minutes later. Ordered the blueberry matcha which was delicious! Really nice balance of flavors and there were small bits of blueberries which I really enjoyed. There was no overpowering sweetness either so the true taste of the blueberries shines through. I wish I snapped a shot before mixing the drink cause the gradient is beautiful too. I came here with my dear friend fishbaikey after not seeing each other for like a year... when we got to hang out at slow bloom we were both exponentially less depressed than the last time we were together (the fact that we both got up at a normal person morning time to get coffee should already tell you enough) and the coffee was wonderful! At around 10:30 all the tables are full but the line isn't bad, but by the time it's 11:00 onwards there is both nowhere to sit and a line out the door so be warned. It's a pretty small space but cutesy interior and has a pretty hectic busy vibe. Not the most ideal study spot but great for talking without needing to whisper and get side eyed. Goes without saying that the cashier/baristas are all very nice and friendly, and the only downside is that the drinks are pretty expensive (my latte was like $8?!) but I'm not even taking a star down for that because 1. union shop yayyy and 2. The staff is not friendly and every single time I choose to go there, I brace myself for a mute cashier who will not greet me, will stare at me as if I'm a bother, and appears irritated if I have any questions. What a great find! We were in town for the weekend and stopped by this coffee shop to meet some friends. It has a great vibe--cute decor and some plants around. A line was out the door at 9 a.m. on a Saturday, but there were seats inside and outside with shade. I was going to order coffee, but once I saw the pastries, I couldn't help but order one. There were gluten-free and vegan options. I had a pumpkin pie donut that was light and fluffy, and the pumpkin pie filling spilled out when you bit into it. I also had the pumpkin spice latte, which was homemade and not too sweet. My partner had "Fomo" iced coffee, and she enjoyed it. This was my first time here & overall it's pretty great. I came on a Sunday afternoon and it was very busy. The vibe was very good. There was some seating inside and plenty more outside. I ordered an iced americano and a tried their vegan chocolate donut. Both Items were good but was priced somewhat high for a simple coffee and a single donut. I wish they had more food items but apparently they sale out fairly quickly here. It seems like an opportunity for the business to try a bit better to match demand... It also does get sort of loud, but I still found it comfortable enough to get some work done on my laptop. One downside was that the WiFi did not appear to be working.
