This was my first time coming into SugarBloom Cakery and the place is super cute. The ambiance is charming and welcoming, and it immediately felt like a fun spot to stop for a treat. We tried the chocolate raspberry cupcake, and it had strawberry preserves inside, which was such a delicious surprise. Honestly, it was so good it kind of blew me away. I also ordered a cold brew and had them sweeten it for me. The coffee itself was good, but the only downside was that they charge extra for the syrup and the milk. That was a little "meh" for me because I'm not really used to paying extra for those add-ins, especially since I'm spoiled by my Panera Sip Club. The owner of Sugarbloom made my wedding cake and it was just truly amazing. It was one of the best tasting cakes I've ever had, and it was vegan to boot. My daughter has an egg allergy and so I wanted all food served at the wedding to be egg free so she could enjoy the food and cake as well. Sugarbloom offers vegan wedding cakes, so we did the cake tasting and fell in love with the vanilla berry buttercream vegan cake. We decided to look no further and booked the wedding cake with Sugarbloom same day. The cake was decorated beautifully and was so moist and rich in flavor. I was initially afraid to get a vegan cake because I was afraid It would be dry or just not that flavorful due to the lack of butter and milk, but oh my gosh! This cake was just amazing. I loved the frosting so much! I could just eat that by itself. All of my guests also praised the cake and had such wonderful things to say about it, and daughter cleaned her plate lol. The sugar-free vanilla latte with oat milk is my go to at any coffee shop, and I can tell you with my whole chest that this is the best one I've had. I like this place a lot. They have a small parking area, but it's never super packed, and you can always park. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but I only ever see people inside. It's so cute in there and there are lots of spots to take food/drink pix. The staff is prompt to help you out at the counter, so I think that helps keep it from overcrowding. Their bakery items are all really cute and fresh. I haven't had a single stale item. Their drink offerings are creative and have great flavor profiles. I tend to overspend here for sure. I'm really torn writing this review because the cake itself was beautiful -- it looked very similar to my inspiration photo and photographed nicely. When we first went in to order, the staff was very kind and welcoming, and they even let me try a lemon raspberry cupcake for free, which I appreciated. However, for $650, I expected a much more professional experience. First, they lost my paperwork. Then they had our delivery date wrong, and we were told they had to "squeeze us in" to actually make it happen (which was quite stressful to hear the day before our wedding). On top of that, the flavors were incorrect. I had ordered Victorian Wedding Cake for the bottom 8" tier and Lemon Raspberry for the top 6" tier. The entire cake was lemon raspberry. Unfortunately, some of our family members are allergic to raspberry and couldn't have any cake at all. The pricing also was frustrating. The starting price was $750 (not including delivery), and I was able to barter for a lower price of $650 (including delivery) by choosing cream flowers instead of gum paste, which felt a bit random given the overall cost. I wish I looked through the Yelp reviews before ordering my wedding cake, because below there is a couple that had a similar experience... 2 stars It was a beautiful cake, but at this price point, I expected better organization, accuracy, and professionalism. Though they are very nice people I am writing this review as a customer/consumer. I truly feel like I didn't get what I paid for, and I hope they improve their customer service moving forward. While I was in line, I was able to appreciate all the beautiful pastries that were in the case and also make a decision. It was so hard deciding which dessert to order. Everything was just absolutely beautiful, unique and looked delicious. The desserts were huge in portion size also. I ended up getting a Mil hojas, which is flaky pasties topped with whipped cream and fruits. It's one of my favorite types of dessert as it's crunchy in texture. Absolutely delicious. It's at the corner of 1st Street & W Redlands Blvd. Private parking is scarce and a bit dangerous when coming out, it's a small area. So be careful especially coming in and out, when there are a lot of cars on W Redlands Blvd. Maybe park on the 1st street side instead. It's really nice inside; the cakes, pastries, and drinks they have are 10/10 DELICIOUS! It is worth the price you pay for. The workers are knowledgeable and friendly. Only one time did they mess up on my drink, I asked for the lavender matcha and was given vanilla matcha instead. I really wish I could give more than 2 stars, but overall, my experience just didn't meet expectations. Starting with the good, the young lady who helped us during the initial tasting was very kind and made us feel welcomed. We placed our order for 60 guests about a month in advance, and everything seemed set. The first issue came when we were already driving from San Diego to Redlands for our scheduled tasting, only to find out it had actually been booked for the following day. There must've been an internal miscommunication, but we ended up having to stay overnight just to make it work. When we finally did our tasting, one of the flavors we'd specifically asked to swap out for religious reasons hadn't been changed. They suggested we come back another day to try it. During the tasting, we also weren't given any privacy to sample and talk things over, someone sat there the entire time, which made things awkward. I'd definitely recommend giving customers space to taste and chat on their own, after giving the flavor brief. We went ahead and booked the cake, sending in an inspiration photo of what we wanted, a tiered vintage-style cake with classic piping and those clear stilts between layers (photo attached). The bakery told us we'd have to provide the stilts ourselves, so we decided to go without and asked for it to be tiered instead. It took a few calls to get that update confirmed. When the wedding day came, I didn't see the cake until it was time to cut it... and I was honestly surprised. It looked nothing like the photo we'd shared. Instead of a round, tiered vintage-style cake, it was tall and narrow, more like a cylinder, with missing piping and big blank areas. It had a completely different feel than what we'd requested. It even looked a bit awkward to cut because of how tall and compact it was. I didn't try the cake myself, and no one mentioned it either way, so I'm guessing it was fine taste-wise. But visually, it just wasn't what we hoped for, especially after showing such a specific inspiration photo. Stopped by here to check out their pastries. It was 1pm on a Sunday and they mostly had cupcakes left. Luckily as we were waiting they brought out more cookies! The ambiance is nice and clean, very bright and well lit. They have cakes in displays, and even sell merch. They even have a cute photo op area. I didn't get to try their coffee offerings but did get to try four pastries. I got a strawberry shortcake cupcake, a danish, a cookie butter cookie, and a brownie. The cupcake had fresh strawberries in the inside and topping was nicely flavored; I felt the color of the cupcake itself reminded me of store bought cake mix and the texture was a bit dry. The danish wasn't my favorite but my friend loved it. The jam filling in the middle of the danish was really good. The cookie was huge! Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, nice cookie butter flavor. Definitely the favorite! Lastly was the brownie, it was crispy on the edges and dense on the inside. It tastes nice but I like my brownies a little more fluffy in the inside. There are there small tables for their patio seating; unfortunately it's unmanaged and dusty. The matcha tastes really good although I did feel like the lavender soft top over powered the flavor. I tried the coco puffs coffee but I did feel like their cold brew was a bit too bitter for my taste. It did taste similar to the Disneyland one so I'm sure others will enjoy it. I happened to visit Sugarbloom after Christmas so they had this cute gingerbread decor. I walked in on a Monday around 930am , I was the only one in there. They have a cute picture-worthy interior. I ordered a basic Vanilla Latte and asked for it half sweetened. I like to taste the coffee. I was disappointed that it was pretty much milk. I was looking forward to their coffee.
