Mainstreet Coffee is such a special place, and so much of that comes down to the people. John, Shanty, and Jay consistently bring so much kindness, warmth, and care into every interaction. There is something really meaningful about walking into a place and feeling genuinely welcomed, not just as a customer, but as a person. John is incredibly kind and thoughtful, Shanty brings such a warm and caring presence, and Jay is always so welcoming and wonderful to interact with. It's the little things--the smiles, the conversations, remembering people, and taking the time to connect--that make such a difference. The location is very nice in downloading La Quinta. I went for the first time, got their lavender latter (I thought it was okay). Went with a group of girls who tried other things, they thought it was nice as well but nothing mind blowing. What is fantastic is their Maui Muffin (carrot cake base). Well, I will definitely admit that I previously have been here and didn't find it very special. My mind has certainly changed! I popped in and bought a soy tiger chair latte. LIFE CHANGED OMG !! This is like a problem every single day after it I had to go get it. I have never had a try like that in my life. It's insane whatever they are doing. There is totally next level and I cannot more highly recommend this place! Very large space on the corner that's actually inviting. They got the prime spot - easy to find and bright & airy. The place was empty on a Monday with only one person working. It was a young guy working but he was pretty helpful. Unfortunately, this is our least favorite coffee spot in the valley. The decor and customer service are both average, nothing particularly memorable in either direction. The location is actually a plus since it's near the farmers market, which makes it convenient. That said, the most important part -- the coffee -- really misses the mark for us. Was in La Quinta for vacation between Christmas and New Year's. Wandered over to "Old Town" for the first time -- kinda a big, outdoor shopping mall thing -- not really all that interesting. Anyway, we were looking for coffee and found it at Main Street. My mocha was good and everyone was happy with their coffee drinks. Fast, friendly service in a nice space. I love main street because its so cute, local, and they have a great outside seating area. The baristas are friendly and urgent. The coffee is flavorful and their menu is slightly limited, but they have pistachio, white mocha, hazelnut, mocha, brown sugar spice, and a maple flavor. Its probably the same price as starbucks if not a little more expensive, but you are supporting a small local business. The strawberry turnover was okay, it could have been better. A toaster strudel is probably better but their cinnamon roll and pumpkin loaf look good. dog friendly as well and they have free water to serve yourself in the lobby. read more

Main Street coffee is nestled in the eclectic Old Town La Quinta. It's a hop skip and a jump away from great restaurants, shops, and an amazing massage! The coffee is regular priced and the large is of decent size, so much it could be split between two people. Super disappointed in our experience. Somehow this place ended up on a round up of best coffee spots in La Quinta and we fell for it. To start- the hours posted online are not the hours they keep, my husband showed up when the online posted hours said they were open, they weren't. The prices on their online menu don't reflect the actual prices- the avocado toast was laughable. Stale bread, the faux avo spread, a thin slide of unripe tomato. The coffee tastes burnt. And they didn't have any pastries available. Such a bummer experience. read more

No doubt this is located in a charming center in Old Town La Quinta, very convenient for those of us living nearby, however, the pricing has gotten so out of control. My regular chai latte is now over $7! Made me wonder if they've implemented surge pricing because of all the Snowbirds in town.? My mother and I have been wanting to check out this coffee shop for a while and after spending our morning at the farmers market we finally decided to try. We ordered a hot latte, an iced matcha, and a cinnamon roll. We received the cinnamon roll cold and workers did not offer to warm it up. Once I got the matcha I was already able to tell how it was going to taste just by the color alone. It was extremely light and did not even look like it was matcha, the taste was off and just wasn't good at all. The coffee also tasted burnt. The cinnamon roll could have been better if it was warmed up. This place was disappointing. read more

We stumbled on this gem a few months back when they were reopening-still getting things together but Peter was great and made several excellent choices we tried including the Chocolate croissant. Took a friend there today and tried the Tiger Chai Iced Latte and WOWZERS is all I can say. Best Iced Chai Latte to date! I loved it so much I'm going back tomorrow. The remodel is worse than it used to be. It's very clinical and cold. The new menu design is too stripped down and doesn't have all the available items listed. The barista had to ask me if I actually wanted something that was not listed on the menu when I ordered off the menu. I hate it. read more

This has been my favorite coffee shop for years, I'm very surprised it doesn't have more reviews! All of their drinks are super high quality and are the tastiest I've had anywhere. I got the Matcha Latte with oat milk substitute today and it's still my favorite! The staff are always friendly and the shop has gorgeous modern decor, perfect for doing work or studying. Very expensive for not very good food or service. We ordered the sea salt cold brew and the honey vanilla coffee. Both coffees were just okay. We ordered two bagels with cream cheese. The bagels were very chewy and we had to assemble them ourselves so I'm not sure why we had to pay $6.00 each for them plus add a minimum 20% tip? This place used to have a chai latte comparable to 2016 playoff Lebron James, or 2007 Megan Fox if you make it a dirty chai. They recently did renovations to the store and menu and their decision making can only be compared to if an elementary school principal hired Jeff Epstein to teach the 3rd grade. I had to sit in my car for three hours before driving home because I didn't trust myself on public roadways. My dad also left recently and I feel like the renovations have something to do with it.
